Education / Most Important Tips That Can Get You Job By by Naijahitz: 6:38pm On Nov 18, 2018
A big factor in how well you interview is your nonverbal communication which also includes eye contact. This is the main and most important factor which helps you to win job agreement paper. Eye contact is an essential asset of the best employee because appropriate eye contact speaks to confidence and self-esteem. Eye contact is a form of body language which is important during communication. The old saying that “eyes are a reflection of your inner self” holds true in most cases. So, start at the beginning of the interview. Looking down at your shoes or focusing on the table are actions that can convey a lack of confidence and nervousness. It’s important to make distinct eye contact while you shake hands with your interviewer. This scatters the best impression on your interviewer.

If you were interviewing someone who couldn’t make eye contact, would you give them the job? Probably not. You interviewer use these essential traits as a means to detect if the person is telling the truth or not. Our body language speaks more than words which then logically accounts for a bigger percentage of our communication skills. Therefore our eyes speak volumes about us and how we communicate. If you feel uncomfortable to do so, then bring along a nice notebook and pen to the interview; it gives you a natural opportunity to look down occasionally.

It is equally important while listening to the interviewer. Ensure that you maintain eye contact as you listen to the questions your interviewer asks. If you look away, it may seem like you are uninterested during interview conversation. When you keep eye contact with the interviewer you are talking to it indicates that you are focused and paying attention. It means that you are actually listening to what the interviewer has to say. That is where the saying “Don’t just listen with your ears” comes from. So “listen” more than talk, everyone loves a good listener especially the interviewer!

Eye contact is the important aspect of the candidates, but you should not stare fixedly at the interviewer. Maintain eye contact in a natural and friendly manner, which means that there are brief breaks and reconnection. Practicing good eye contact is a skill for effective and vital communication. Just be sure to give another firm handshake, a smile, and eye contact once the interview is over!

Good Luck !!!!

But Femi Adesina, a presidential spokesman, speaking with Channels dismissed Sagay’s statement, saying that Sagay’s comments on Adeosun was his personal opinion and not the stance of the President.

‘It was a personal comment, that is not the position of the Government and Professor Sagay has a right to his opinion.
