AM in Nigeria and I did the HR interview via phone. Am going for an experience position and not the graduate selection stuff. 2weeks after the HR interview which was conducted from Italy (via phone)I got a mail saying it was successful and that my profile has been forwarded to the Line Manager. So am guessing I will be doing another interview with the Line Manager and then may be the country manager. I really don't know if the line manager interview is a face to face interview or a phone interview. if any of you know what am to expect please let me know. THANK YOU!

What is the population of Lagos? and what is the population of Delta,Bayelsa,Rivers and Cross River?these are all coastal states.GEJ is clueless in Job creation.the ports in these 4 Niger Delta states are working far below their capacity, why?militancy?I don't think so! that is why all attention turns to Lagos.let GEJ open all the ports in these Niger Delta states and u will be talking of massive job creation and rapid development. Its funny to think no ship yard in the whole of Niger Delta where all the Oil is located.

@POSTER!
U said u will be graduating soon, meaning u r yet to serve,I would advice u go back home.Life after graduation for girls is different from before graduation. Some space will be given to u by ur parents and u still have a thing or two to learn before u finally move out for service or marriage.

@ Poster,
definitely she's not your type and you know it! but u went ahead and married her thinking because she's very homely and descent u have found a WIFE.The other girls u dated were your type but u felt "their eye to OPEN" so u went and marry the one her eyes are not open and now opening it na WAHALA!am sure u contacted close relatives(maybe your parents) and listed the qualities u want in a wife-and they saw her as somebody who matches your description buy here comes the consequences.May be she doesn't even LOVE u in the 1st place.Just marry becos every bodi de marri-see-am now.u want to eat ur cake and have it,from the way you said the words-GROW UP,I think u are much more older than her-I strongly believe u wanted a girl who "never open eye" so u can mold her to your shape and taste and ONLY 3 years of trying u are complaining.u NEVER START. Keep trying and be patient with her.

Am not being pessimistic here but the truth is things will never change! when we have the same yet of people ruling this country.Just the other day,Ministry of trade and investment created a research institute; Cement Research Institute and made Dangote the chairman. The purpose of the institute is to proffer lasting solution to the scarcity of cement, make it readily available and off course check the irregularities in its every day surging prices but how can that come to fruition when a man like Dangote is sitting on top of all decisions made by the institute?this is a man spending billions building Cement refineries across the continent and you think he doesn't want to recoup his investment?this is pathetic!
Business / Re: How To Deal In Agric Products From North by NatGas(m): 6:50pm On Sep 08, 2011
I served in the North-Sokoto. It is a very profitable bizness and it must not be a one way thing.what you need to do is buy from the south and take to the north and buy from the north and take to the south.
Now u might be wondering what is there to buy and take to the north, Palm oil in some season sells like crude oil in the north and many others like melon.I think the problem in the biz is that must of ur goods will be perishable goods so timing should be paramount.

Warning:dont get involve in goods hoarding cos that what most of these traders do.

Business / Yahoo Fires Its CEO For Lack Of Growth by NatGas(m): 6:14am On Sep 08, 2011
Yahoo boss Carol Bartz is fired by US internet company

Yahoo's chief executive Carol Bartz has been fired by the internet company after two-and-a-half years in the top job.

The company said in a statement that Ms Bartz was removed by the board of directors, effective immediately.

Tim Morse, Yahoo's chief financial officer, will take over from Ms Bartz.

Yahoo has been struggling to increase its market share as it faces increased competition from rivals such as Google and Facebook.

Yahoo shares jumped more than 6% in after-hours trading after news of the firing broke, indicating they would trade higher when Wall Street opened for business on Wednesday. Yahoo's stock price was up at $13.72, an increase of 81 cents.

Mr Morse will serve as interim chief executive and the board of directors will look for a new CEO, the company said.
No turnaround

Ms Bartz was hired to run Yahoo in early 2009, taking over from co-founder Jerry Yang.

She made significant changes to the management team and cut jobs to save on costs. She also shifted the focus of the traditionally search-oriented firm towards more personalised content.

However, Larry Magid, a technology analyst at C-net, said the company has not seen enough of a turnaround under Ms Bartz's leadership.

"She hasn't done anything to change the company's fortunes, and they are still anxious to find a leader who can move them up," he said.

Critics also claim that Yahoo has failed to make significant strides in two of the most lucrative segments of the market - search and social networking.

"Facebook is way ahead, and now even Google is way ahead of Yahoo in social networking," Mr Magid added.

"In terms of the potential for long-term revenue it's just not there. They've got some great sites, great information resources, news, stocks, sports, but that's not what bringing in the money."
Phone firing

The news first broke on the Wall Street Journal's All Things D website, which quoted an email from Ms Bartz to Yahoo staff. The email has since been reported by other news agencies including Bloomberg and Reuters.

"I am very sad to tell you that I've just been fired over the phone by Yahoo's chairman of the board," Ms Bartz said in the email to staff.

"It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward."

As news of the sacking spread across the internet, Yahoo released its own press statement in which it confirmed it was undergoing a "leadership reorganisation" and that Ms Bartz would be leaving the company.

Roy Bostock, chairman of Yahoo's board, said in the statement: "On behalf of the entire board, I want to thank Carol for her service to Yahoo during a critical time of transition in the company's history, and against a very challenging macro-economic backdrop."

He added that he saw "enormous growth opportunities" for the firm.
Lack of direction?

Despite being one of the pioneers in the online search business, Yahoo has seen its market share dwindle in recent times.

Not only have the users turned to its rivals, advertisers have also been ditching the company.

Research firm eMarketer has projected that Facebook will overtake Yahoo in online display advertising in the US this year.

Analysts said a lack of focus and direction have hurt the company's image.

"They went down the road of search, they went down the road of media, becoming a content company, they went down the road of advertising," said Michael Yoshikami of YCMNet Advisors.
"I'm not sure where they go right now. One wonders if this means that

Jeezuzpick:

@ Original post,

Why? Hmmm,  a few answers, here,

a) Parents's ideas of fun for their kids no longer include physical exercise these days, how many parents buy balls for their sons nowadays?
Back in the days, the dude with the ball had the most friends. cool

b) Safety just isn't what it was back when some of us were kids. How many crazy okada riders were on the loose in the eighties? I have to sympathise
    with parents on that one.

c) Even though Footballer role models abound, nowadays, how many schools (especially primary schools) REALLY encourage football among pupils?

d) How many primary schools even HAVE football fields nowadays? more like "fully equipped computer labs" (I'm not saying that's bad, though)

Kids aren't really given much of a choice any more. They simply soak up what they have around them. I think this is bad for our future, health wise.

[/quote
Well said.how many residential compounds have real space for children to even play?nowadays we live behind the bars and call them protector!
