THE abducted former Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Alhaji Bappa Tilde, has been killed by his unknown abductors.
The 72-year-old Tilde was abducted last Saturday, at Nuru Quarters in Bauchi, while returning home from the mosque, where he observed his night prayers.
Both security and family sources confirmed the death of the septuagenarian to journalists, on Thursday, in Bauchi, though both could not agree on the intention of the abduction over the deceased.
A top security source described the death of the one-time accountant-general as an assassination, saying the abductors did not demand for any ransom since he was abducted last weekend.However, a family source said the abductors demanded for ransom, with a view to freeing the late Tilde, saying the family was in the process of negotiating with the abductors when he was killed.
