Politics / N141m Contract Duly Executed By Certified Contractor, Says Ossap-sdgs by ndamanibrahim12: 6:42pm On Nov 10, 2023
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) has denied the report that it paid the sum of N141.1m to an Abuja- based restaurant two weeks before the expiration of the Buhari administration.

The Office described the report by an online media platform as not only misleading but false and a calculated attempt to smear the good image of the Office.A statement issued by the Head of Communications in OSSAP-SDGs, Rotimi Ajayi stated that the office wouldn’t have dignified the piece with a reply, but for the innocent readers who might not understand the crux of the matter, there is a need to set the records straight.

“This is to state clearly that the reports carried a distorted account of the procedure and show the ignorance of the writer on how things operate in government institutions.

“We wish to state categorically that the information contained in the said publication is inaccurate and very likely a deliberate attempt to misrepresent the issues with the intent to embarrass the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, as there was no issue of fraud or abuse of process in the execution of the said project.”

OSSAP-SDGs categorically refutes the allegations and insists that it has been transparent in the construction of the Skills Acquisition Centre and a Block of Classrooms in Lagos State, as well as many similar projects across the country.

The statement noted that according to records provided by the company during the bid process, the company in question is duly registered with valid incorporation and tax documents with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC.

The allegation of it being a mere restaurant is equally from the figment of the imagination of the author, as the project was executed by a team of professionals with the necessary qualifications and expertise in construction and engineering. The structures were built per specifications and industry standards, as confirmed by photographic evidence with GPS coordinates provided.

The Office noted that the decision to relocate the project from its original site in Ajeromi was necessitated by the insufficient space at the original location, to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Contrary to the claims in the report, the project was executed as specified, and the block of classrooms and skills acquisition centre were completed and commissioned for use. Photographic evidence with GPS coordinates is available to substantiate this fact.

“In conclusion, we assert that the report is marred by inaccuracies, as the award of the contract followed due process and was not arbitrary,” the statement said.

Politics / The 53 Days - IDPs by ndamanibrahim12: 6:42pm On Mar 18, 2022
Nigerians are no strangers to hearing the term “IDPs”, either on the news or in conversations about our beloved country.
Over the years, insecurity has left several Nigerians in the Northern stranded and homeless. But this pain and discomfort haven’t stopped many selfish and corrupt Nigerians from taking advantage of the tragic situation for their personal gain.
Connected to the struggles of the average Nigerian, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has remained consistent in his efforts to alleviate the burden and dissatisfaction of IDPs in the North.

We remember his work as Acting President in 2017 when he introduced the Voucher System, a new plan that allowed for food to be delivered to IDP camp residents, as opposed to making them stand in long never-ending queues just so they can get their daily meal. This system also allowed for transparency where each meal can be accounted for. But he didn’t stop there.

We also saw him create the most profound Inter-Ministerial Committee with the aim of making life better for people living in IDP camps. The work done with this was so groundbreaking, it attracted the attention of the United Nations. This partnership still exists today.
Professor Yemi Osinbajo has also left an indelible impact on education for these communities with the North East Children Fund (NECT) has set up schools catering to 15000 displaced in the area.

He did all of these despite the efforts of naysayers and selfish detractors who sought to use Nigeria and its people for their monetary gain.
But making change is not a statement, it requires action and if there’s one thing to take away from Professor Yemi Osinbanjo’s legacy as Vice President or Acting President, it's that he’s all about action, but not just any action, but action that’s inspired by compassion.

Politics / 2023: Nationwide Youth Rallies Intensifies Demand For Osinbajo by ndamanibrahim12: 4:03pm On Feb 28, 2022
As steam builds up towards the upcoming 2023 presidential elections, a new wave of youth rallies has been springing up across the country, further intensifying demands that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declare interest in the Office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria ahead of the elections.

In the most-talked-about events of the past couple of weeks, several rallies featuring a massive crowd of Nigerians have been spotted first in Ilorin, Kwara state; Lafia, Nasarawa state; Ibadan, Oyo state; and more recently at the ATB Stadium in Borno state. Further investigations reveal that a group named the Higher Nigeria Movement (HNM) is behind these rallies picking up steam across the country. Consisting mostly of women and youths from different works of life ranging from agriculture to petty trade, these rallies have seen participants march and flood their local streets chanting, singing and urging the Vice President to run for president in the 2023 general elections. “The work he has done so far shows us the type of leader he’d be if given the chance. We need someone who’s empathetic, but still focused on the Nigerian mission and Osinbajo is the right man for the job.” said a young student participating in the rally in Borno state.

Speaking to newsmen at the rally in Lafia, the group’s local coordinator – Inuwa Abubakar – said the Higher Nigeria Movement is a growing national body of Nigerians who identify as supporters of the Vice President. The group is also a collective of millions of individuals around the country who have either been beneficiaries of programmes initiated or run by the Vice President, or simply have a strong belief in his candidacy and track record as the best for Nigeria.

As the air gets thick with anticipation ahead of the next elections with candidates like Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi making their intentions known, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is yet to make an official announcement despite a nationwide demand for an Osinbajo ticket come 2023. Speaking at the Oyo state rally where the Vice President was also in town on official assignment, one of the group’s rally conveners in Ibadan informed newsmen that these rallies are only the beginning. “We’re confident that he’ll come out soon, it’s only a matter of time. But until then, we want him to know that there are millions of Nigerians who support and believe in him. There are more rallies coming up in all states and we have no intention of stopping anytime soon,” she said.

As the race towards the upcoming 2023 presidential elections heats up, a new wave of youth rallies has been springing up across the country, further intensifying demands that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declare interest to run for the Office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In the most-talked-about events of the past week, three rallies featuring a massive crowd of Nigerians have been spotted first in Ilorin, Kwara state, again in Lafia, Nasarawa state, and more recently at the ATB Stadium in Bauchi state. Further investigations reveal that a group named the Higher Nigeria Movement (HNM) is behind these rallies picking up steam across the country. These rallies consist mostly of Nigerian youths and women who have been seen marching and flooding the streets chanting, singing and urging the Vice President to run for president in the 2023 general elections. “We have all seen the work he has done as Vice President and that alone gives us confidence in what he could do if given the chance. He is the man for the job” said a young rally attendee in Kwara state who asked to be anonymous.

As the presidential air gets thicker with candidates like Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi making their intentions known, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is yet to make an announcement despite a nationwide demand for an Osinbajo ticket come 2023. This, however, has not deterred the group as one of the rally conveners in Bauchi informed newsmen that these three rallies are only the beginning. “We expect him to come out soon. But until then, we want him to know that there are millions of Nigerians who support and believe in him and are waiting for him. There are more rallies coming up in all states and we have no intention of stopping anytime soon,” he said.
