Family / Re: Pastor Kumuyi's Son Ties The Knot (PHOTO) by NET1(m): 1:47pm On Jun 20, 2013
Deeper Life has really changed o and I thank God for them. I was born in this Church. My father was a State Pastor in charge of the then Imo State (consisting of Imo, Abia & parts of Ebonyi). My mom was one Choir girl that time. I'm talking of early 1980s. Kumuyis were very close to us then, maybe 'cos of Popsi's position in the church.

When they got married, they were not allowed to take pictures. Momsi told me she wore one skirt and blouse (you know the type that has 'gada' at the loin area...lol). She was not permitted to wear Wedding Gown.

She also said Popsi wore just Shirt+Tie, Trouser and Sandals (I think that would considered weird by today's Fashion Standards). He was by policy not allowed to wear Suit (especially since he was the State Pastor). Even his friends were not allowed to take pictures on that wedding day - cos pictures were seen as 'Worldliness' - hahahaha.

We had enough money to buy a TV then (even if say na Black+White sef), but we couldnt because of the fear of suspension or even expulsion from the church. It (TV) was usually called "The Devil's Box". Years later after we left Deeper, one day I saw a Suit in my popsi's wardrobe, the first thought I had was that he had backsliden...hahahaha.

I am happy to see John Kumuyi's wedding in good colour (we used to be friends as kids - oh those days!). His wedding pictures are a clear departure from the primitive doctrines of the 1980s that we observed with utmost reverence n Deeper Life. even up till now, my momsi no dey perm her hair. She still carry the Deeper Life mentality (even though we left Deeper in 1987).

However, one thing is certain about the Kumuyis and Deeper Life. They don't compromise about sin o. If you meddle with sin (no matter how small), they will tell you to your face o - that one I confirm am. If you refuse to repent, mehn, na expulsion o. - no be joke o.

That man is truly a man of God. I was a kid then, but I know his strong stance on wrongdoing. Even my Parents dey respect (abi na fear sef) the guy called Kumuyi. The man no be Prosperity Preacher o - unlike some new breed people (I no call anybody name o).

Romance / Re: A Philosophical Reply From J.P. Morgan CEO To Pretty Girl Seeking Rich Man by NET1(m): 12:59pm On Jun 13, 2013
DailyNews: This guy is a very good and honest fellow to have told this untold truth.

I am not rich, yeah, but I happen to have some married and single rich folks. Now guess what

Majority of the married rich guys I know, their wives are not that pretty, in fact, we do yab one becos his wife is very ugly, and u need to see some of his mistresses, oh my g....we were with one last weekend, couldn't stop staring secretly at her cos she is so cute I was wondering y the guy married his ugly wife gringrin now I know.

Now, to the single rich guys I know, we always argue. What do we argue They always say that they won't ever marry a very pretty lady, that they don't want anything to distract them in life, that they would rather marry not so pretty lady and maybe keep some very cute ones as mistresses.

And majority of men seem to nurture this same assertion. If you take a census of the married rich men in Nigeria today, most them have ugly or not-so-pretty wife, which further justifies J.P Morgan CEO's response to this pretty girl's question.

Maybe the upcoming generation would change this trend of rich guys marrying ugly women.

But from my own personal observations, I think the reason is that the pretty girls spend more time preparing to meet/date rich guys than they spend on working on their general woman character while the not-so-pretty girls spend more time working on their character and inner beauty.

Lastly, the pretty girls do ignore upcoming guys a lot while running around with already established or rich guys in the belief that it would increase their chances of marrying a rich man, while the ugly girls give upcoming guys a chance and in the process, when the guy makes it to the rich list, they end up being his wife, while the pretty girls are busy waiting for the already settled guys to come around.

Nice reply anyway.

Btw o, majority of pretty girls are filled with pomposity, arrogance, bad manner and pride, which rich guy in his right senses would want to keep such a woman as wife Sometimes, pretty girls are best kept as girlfriends and mistresses. Don't tell anybody I told u thisgringrin goodmorning

This may not be a reason to fret after all o. Some peeps are just like that. However, on a very serious note, if she fails to be with you on your 'special' day, you might then have a reason to fret.

My advice: Just call your friends for the birthday and celebrate with them. Behave as if you don't care whether she comes or not. Let her hear it from someone else that you had a lil Birthday bash and maybe your friends probe her on her absence on that day.

Watch her reaction afterwards. That will tell you what to do - whether to dump her or still hang on with her.

Permit me to derail this thread a little.

I don't know if I am the only one who noticed this, but it is a thing of joy that the focus of this thread has not been shifted to a tribal war. In the past, threads like this would within minutes evoke an e-war between Igbo and Yoruba people.

But this one has not - and I pray it does not. Nairaland is indeed changing for the better.
Shout out to SurveyProf, Airemon, r231, frawzey, Odunnu & Seun who have maintained the focus of this thread.

Sky-walker:

The only Pitfall i see is bandwidth issue and Naija mentality say why do i have to go for your service when Microsoft and Amazon cloud is there.

I'm collaborating with SAP & maybe Microsoft. Based on their policies, they don't sell ERP directly to users. Instead, they refer the end-user to their agents (which i can become very soon). I am allowed to charge as much as I deem fit. I just pay a certain amount for each client. Plus, they also give me a certain percentage of the amount I remit to them if I reach an agreed milestone in the number of clients and Revenue generated for them.

On the Bandwidth issue, we intend to get two channels of 20mbps Fibre connection. Fortunately, the office we're taking soon is close to the POP of a good, reliable Fibre Internet company.

powerblaze:

Cloud its great as a ' 3D' storage server.. Though i'd think you should just rent a huge space from corporate cloud firms like google, and be a reseller.. Or something like that.. Also, rather than just store files, why not add something more dynamic, like a software solution with back end cloud support.. Like an, sql server on the cloud.. Pm me.. We could work out something

Bro, that's where I think the ERP thing comes in. The application is already developed. Don't have to crack my head for that. All I need to do is sell to the people who need it.

.NET

More questions and criticisms are welcome. I wanna be sure I've plugged all the holes, before I venture into this thing.
Webmasters / Re: The Best Web-Based Businesses To Start In Nigeria? by NET1(m): 3:17pm On Feb 13, 2013
Chief06: you are wasting both time and money . Cloud with the cloud based in Nigeria? Sorry, but you're setting yourself up for failure. google Drive, Box, the box, amazon cloud are too big too be beaten by a startup with one server, in epileptic power supply in Nigeria

ok. about the competition with Amazon and Google, I don't think that will be a problem for me o. I will offer something different (at least in the early stage) - ERP cloud Hosting. SAP seems to be the most popular in this Country, so I am talking with them on how this can be achieved.

On the issue of Power, we are talking Engineers to design and install good-quality Solar Panels with Inverters.

Please tell me other areas that I might fail. Thank you bros.

I am building a business model on Enterprise Cloud Computing. A Cloud site where clients and businesses can store files in a server and use at will. But first, I want to start by re-selling ERP applications like SAP to Businesses (at a cheaper rate) on the Cloud through my site.

I'll be buying the servers from Dell by October this year(mehn, these machines are really expensive o). We intend to kick off Cloud operations by January 2014.

Please feel free to ask me questions about this. Also analyse what I've described and tell me the pitfalls to avoid.
