Webmasters / Re: You Can See What We Didnt See : Help Review Our Website by netwhizmx: 1:19pm On Oct 21, 2008
nice work there dayo, clean n unclogged layouts in all pages and i agree with yawa on how u take to corrections, i must commend u r real professional n instill confidence in ur clients. Now i'd like to bring to ur attention ur portfolio page http://tebixcreative.com/portfolio.aspx "what we have done" there u have thumbnails of the sites u have done, clicking on each thumbnail opens a page with this error msg:

'Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /port_details.aspx

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433'

u can either allow the thumbnail open into a larger image of the site on click with an option to visit the site or simply take out the hyperlink and leave it as a plain image.

, two good heads r better than one just like yawa stated correctly

@yawa-ti-de, good point u put down, but at the end of the day , it all boils down to d owner of the site to do whatsoever he pleases, we as nairalanders only have the option to air our views.

personally, i find it annoying when reading an article or sumtin interesting and to be suddenly taken away from it just because i clicked a link, which opens on the same page. Anyway everyone's got his/her views, how about that poll?

There's this nagging issue that is been poppin' in my mind for a while now regarding this forum and that is the fact that, when u click on external links that is posted on nairaland, it opens up on the same page, taking u out of the nairaland forum, i think this is not good enough for a forum as big as this. Seun, take note, work on d forum, so when u click on external links not related to the forum, it opens it up in a new page or something, u don't want to lose traffic to some other ext. links posted, even though u get all this traffic, u should still protect it, just felt i should air this out, Wacha think guys!

TV/Movies / Re: Daarsat Vs Existing Satellites(hitv, dstv, mytv Etc) by netwhizmx: 11:16pm On Oct 15, 2008
dudes, there's no way HiTV or MYTV can compete with DaarSAT for the following reasons, DaarSat operates on both C and KU Band, which neither of 'em does, so either way u can access DaarSat. More channels r available on the DaarSat brocade and as for the foreign channels on the brocade, they are rated no 1. in their home countries, for instance FOX news and NBC are on the DaarSat brocade, simply cos they happen to be rated 1st and 2nd best news network in the US, CNN is rated no 5 or so, which is the reason DaarSat aint offering CNN.

Tons of other reasons, the only competition i see for DaarSat is DSTV, as DSTV has lots of subscribers and also with their new DSTV mobile, but its a healthy competition, but DaarSat's gonna blow cos its got almost 80 more channel space for more local contents to be added on, apart from the already existing local content it has. Talking abt Yoruba station on HiTV, i dont even wanna talk abt it, the tech. & broadcast quality of DaarSAT is far better than HiTV which happens to use streamin' outdated! men, well DaarSAT also got their own Yoruba channel, WATCH OUT GUYS ITS GONNA PHASE OFF DSTV, it just needs time, again HITV & MYTV, are no competition at all, No Offense meant!
Computers / Re: Mad Blue Screen!help Needed Urgently. by netwhizmx: 10:51pm On Oct 10, 2008
ur pc aint got no problem if u r sure ur RAM is intact, most causes of socalled Blue Screen of Death is usually when you install a proggy which is not compatible with your OS, then ur OS begins to malfunction, so if u installed any proggy recently before ur pc started acting up in this manner, remove it, it should solve the prob. if not holla back
Computers / Re: Mini Cybercafe With Starcomms by netwhizmx: 10:25pm On Oct 10, 2008
of course it can take 7pcs, bandwidth on starcomms Evdo ranges from 300-600kbps due to varying signal strength and service availability, it can even get to 2.3Mbps but who is Starcomms kidding that's gotta be when you are the only one on the network at a point in time. Anyway area also matters, not every part of Lagos have access to the Starcomms EvDo network so if you are in such area your EvDo will work as CDMA 1x DataCard, and you will be disappointed at the speed cos it wont cross the 230kbps rate, that's if it even gets to half of it
Programming / Re: A Compiler that enables Nigerians to Code In our local languages by netwhizmx: 9:59pm On Oct 10, 2008
Lets see, the best way to start this is by working with an Open Source platform, say Linux has a lot of distro, if i were to start such, i'd use one distro for this purpose, starting by incorporating say the Yoruba lang. but question now is how many dudes know their way around working with kernels, if u have a good knowledge of Assemblies then building a kernel which is d salt of every OS then saying this is can be made a reality isnt far fetched, i'll leave it 'dere
