God bless you my brother. If you will read John 14, John 16, Acts 1:6-8 and Acts 2:1-4, you will see that the Comforter (parakletos in Greek) came in the person of the Holy Spirit. Pls just pray that the Living God will reveal Himself to you personally. I love you!

Islam is modernised idol worship. Moslems face the east to worship Allah, who historically is the god of the moon, being worshipped before Muhammed was born!
Or why do Moslems wait to sight the new moon occasionally? And why did they adopt crescent moon as a major part of their religion's symbol?
Paul warned the Christians in Colossians 2:16-17 (NIV): "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. "
Another translation put verse 17 above as: "All those things are mere shadows cast before what was to come; the substance is Christ" (MSG).
So Moslems are chasing the shadow (new moon), but leaving the substance (Christ).
Friend, Christians and Moslems are not serving the same God!
On the other hand, in the Arabic language, Allah has been wrongly accepted as the God. In fact, the Arabic Bible wrongly adopted Allah as the Living God.
Anyway, the Koran (Quran) says the following about Jesus:
1. Jesus is the Word of God (Sura 28:27; 2: 253).
2. Jesus is the Christ [Messiah]. Literally rendered as "Masih" (Sura 4:17; 5:119).
3. "God" says He would cause Jesus to die and raise him from the dead; and anyone who does not put his faith in him will have no helper on the day of Judgment (Sura 3:560; 43:61; 19:23-24).
4. Jesus went to heaven (Sura 3:55; 4:158).
5. Jesus is still alive (Sura 3:55; 5:117).
6. Jesus will come again (Sura 3:61).
7. Jesus is the Straight way (Sura 43:61).
8. Jesus is the Author of Creation and Miracles (Sura 3:49).
9. Jesus is sinless and faultless (Sura 19:91).
10. Jesus is a clear sign sent by God (Sura 2:87).
11. Jesus' followers were superior to other people (Sura 3:55).
12. Jesus is the seed that would destroy Satan's work (Sura 2:28).
On the other hand, the Koran never says any of these things about Muhammed.
The Koran, thus, infer the following about Muhammed:
1. Muhammed is not the Word of God.
2. Muhammed is not the Christ [Messiah].
3. "God" does not say He would cause Muhammed to die and raise him from the dead; and anyone who does not put his faith in him will have no helper on the day of Judgment.
4. Muhammed did not go to heaven.
5. Muhammed is not alive anymore.
6. Muhammed will not come again.
7. Muhammed is not the Straight way.
8. Muhammed is not the Author of Creation and Miracles.
9. Muhammed is not sinless and faultless.
10. Muhammed is not the seed that would destroy Satan's work.
Also interestingly, the Koran says if Moslems have any doubt about the Koran, then they should go the Christians or read the Bible (Sura 10:94-95; 21:7).

The list goes on and on. In fact, Jesus is unequalled by Muhammed, Buddha, Sango, Ogun, Oya, Esu, and so on!
He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords!
You see, the Quran gives more attention to Jesus than Muhammed!
Yes, while Muhammed was mentioned in only 4 places, Jesus was mentioned in 25 places of all the 114 chapters and 6666 verses in the Quran!

SINNER’S CONFESSION
If you are not yet born-again, say this:
I choose to repent today. Also I choose to believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose up for my justification.
The Scripture says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9).

I command every foul spirit [spirit of fear, spirit of unbelief, spirit of doubt, religious spirit, unforgiving spirit…] wanting to hinder me to stop in its evil operation in my life in Jesus’ name.
Thank you God for filling me with your Spirit in Jesus’ name (Amen).

CHAPTER SIX

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES

After Peter had seen a vision of a vessel containing all kinds of animals descending unto him, a voice spoke to him three times to arise, kill and eat; to which he responded that he would not eat because he had not eaten anything impure or unclean in his life.
The most interesting part is Acts 10:17, "PETER WAS VERY PERPLEXED. WHAT COULD THE VISION MEAN?" (NLT).
This implies that even the greatest of men (apostles, prophets, evangelists, and so on) do not always an instant interpretation of every vision or dream.
Some can be interpreted immediately but others may take some time. Eventually, as events unfolded the meaning became clear to this mighty apostle (read Acts 10).
One the things I learnt from my wife is that even when she does not understand the meaning of a dream or vision, she will say, "Every symbolism of this [mentioning what she had seen], Holy Ghost take charge."
Then she will begin to pray in an unknown tongue. She explained that if she ignored it because she does not know its interpretation, it will bounce back on her!
I believe it helps. I do the same, though, I tried to change her statement, "Holy Ghost take charge," to "Holy Ghost take control as I take charge." Then I start praying with my spirit.

CASE 1
Some time ago, a man who has read one of our publications called me on the phone and requested to meet me in person. So I gave him an appointment.
But then, I decided to ask the Lord whom this man coming to see me was. Surprisingly, right where I was on the chair, I seemed sleepy and had a quick vision of someone standing on his toes and peeping. Also I saw a house fly. Then I became conscious.
Interestingly, this man eventually came to us to spy our liberty [to peep into our affairs] (Gal 2:4-5).
Worse still, he came with a lying spirit [the house fly in the vision]. He told me lies about women being ministers of the gospel [but my wife is a minister], about the genuineness of my call, about the three persons of the Godhead [He believed the Father is the same person as the Son, who is the person as the Holy Spirit], and so on.

CASE 2
While preparing to go somewhere to register 13 things for 3 of us (10 for me, 2 for my wife and 1 for a pastor friend), I saw three colours: GREEN, BLUE and RED.
I did not know the meaning until I was coming back from the place where I went to register. I came back partially unhappy.

MEANING
Green go ahead (approval for my pastor friend's only copy).
Blue [green minus yellow] go ahead minus radiance (partial approval making one unhappy or irradiant), only 1 out my 10 copies was approved.
Red stop (disapproval), none was approved for my wife.

Note: the dictionary gave the meaning of 'blue' as 'unhappiness, depression.'

CASE 3
While we were getting the book "The Ministry Of A Prophet" and its prequel, "The Ministry Of An Apostle" ready for publication, I had this dream:
I spoke with one Mrs Kehinde [She had got born-again through me several years ago in the natural. Later on, she got married and had children.]
Later, I saw myself driving a very big bus. It was so tall that the steering was far away from where the pedals [throttle, clutch and brake] were.
I had to stand up while driving. The strangest thing was that I seemed suspended for my feet couldn't touch the pedals nor could my hand hold on to the steering above me as I stood. Although the bus was in motion, yet I was not in charge of it.
Moreover, I had left my lane. I was moving in a wrong lane. The vehicles in the lane where I found myself were supposed to be moving in one direction but I was coming, facing them in the opposite direction. I should have known that I was wrong. (That might even cause an accident). I also seemed to have veered off the road a little bit.
Coming on my front left were two army cars painted army green.
Note: My wife also had a vision of hundreds of tiny flies around our ministry's computer monitor two different times around the time we were working primarily on those two books.

MEANING
The Yoruba name "Kehinde" means a child that comes out of the womb last in a set of twins. The one that comes out first is named "Taiwo."
So the Lord wanted both books we were working on at that time to come out last in the series of 7 books we have been led to write. The two were volumes 2 and 3.
After the first volume we did, He wanted us to go to volumes 4, 5, 6 and probably 7 before coming back to volumes 2 and 3.
Also since a woman or girl can represent a church or the church, then that lady I saw indicated the fact that we had to be patient enough for the local church we were called to lead to mature before releasing such books that would be far above our current status.
The big bus indicated that the books were too voluminous. Actually, I was already adding some unnecessary things that were supposed to form another book. So I quickly removed them and condensed the two volumes.
The fact that I couldn't control that bus indicated that the two volumes were above what I could handle effectively to produce God's desired results at that time because of my inadequate experiential knowledge of God's Word. So we postponed their publication!
God sees things differently: from a totally different perspective or direction. He says, "For MY THOUGHTS are not your thoughts, neither are your ways MY WAYS," declares the LORD.
AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS AND MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS." (Is 55:8-9, NIV).
So the two army cars coming from a different direction indicated that those two books would be used of God, from a different perspective, for spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness.
His purpose was not for us just to release those books for they were to be powerful apostolic and prophetic weapons to deal with some hard issues confronting the church of the living God as projected from the pit of hell (Jer 1:9-10).
Also my wife's vision of hundreds of tiny flies indicated spiritual warfare with a great multitude of demonic spirits.

CASE 4
I saw a fellow Christian brother barely naked with a black pair of pants on. About two days later, he told me, in another dream, about sand, maybe to be collected from somewhere. A day later, in yet another dream, I received the number 6 for him probably from Genesis 6.

MEANING
The three different dreams pointed to the same thing. God was trying to tell this dear brother not to trust in man or human effort.
As already explained unclothedness could mean one is depending on the arm of the flesh (see Jer 17:5-8, AMP).
The black pants could speak of suffering, hardship or hunger resulting from relying on human help while ignoring the unfailing help that comes from heaven (please read Ps 46:1; 118:8-9; 121:1-8; Pro 3:5-6, Heb 13:5-6).
Also as earlier stated 'sand' speaks of humanity. You remember Jesus said a fool builds his house on sand, that is, on mankind. He does not trust the Lord enough to obey Him.
But He said a wise man constructed his house on the rock. And Christ is the Rock of Ages (see Mt 7:24-27, 1Cor 10:4).
Lastly, the number 6 talks about humanity. It is the number of man. You remember that man was created on the 6th day (see Gen 1:26-31).
More interestingly, the Book of Revelation says clearly that 6 has to do with man (see Rev 13:18).

SOME SYMBOLS AND THEIR MEANINGS

i. ANIMALS/INSECTS
Snail slow progress or retrogression
Duck taking things lightly or with levity [unseriousness]
Tortoise worldly wisdom or trickery
Dog sexual immorality, lust or human wickedness (Phil.3:2)
Goat unbeliever (Mat 25:33, 41); stubborn enemy or recurring problem
Snake deception or high level of manipulation difficult to detect (Gen 3:1-7). But in Numbers 21:4-9 snakes have both good and bad meanings.
Cheetah rapidly spreading danger or destruction
Chicken a fearful person; one who disrupts or scatters a plan or place
Owl bad omen
Rat betrayer
Fly (housefly) lie (Satan is Beelzebub, lord of flies Luke 11:15)
Lizard monitoring spirit (especially one difficult to detect); someone who has unhindered access to get unnecessary facts or information about people or thing (Pro 30:28)

Bee someone you should handle extra-carefully to enjoy the sweetness or blessings (the bee's honey) he will bring to your life but whose anger you must not incur because it will have devastating effect on you (the bee's sting); someone who is as good as he is bad, or as sweet as he is bitter, or as nice as he is wicked
Locust noisy and wasteful destruction (Amos 7:1-2)
Termite silent destruction
Monkey great intelligence usually used wrongly to outsmart others; intellectualism

Note: the fact that some cows swallowed up some other cows in Pharaoh's dream above showed that what was swallowed up will pale into insignificance and will not be remembered because of the strong influence of what swallowed it up (see vs 20-21, 29-31).

ii. COLOURS
White righteousness, purity, justice (Rev. 19:8, 11), victory (Rev. 6:2)
Purple royalty or authority (Judge 8:26, Est. 8:15, Mk. 15:17), prosperity (Lam. 4:5, Lk. 16:19)

Baby a young church, ministry, establishment or business

Madman somebody who jokes to deceive others (Pro 26:18-19); somebody who has lost his spiritual or natural senses/sanity (2 Pet 2:16); someone who can destroy your self-image or public image if you identify or interact with him because he his abnormal.

v. MISCELLANY
Barred gate/door dispute or disagreement

Note: unclothedness can also mean trusting in man rather in God.
Jeremiah 17:5-6 reads, "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
For he shall be like the HEATH in the desert"
According to 'The New Strong's Expanded Dictionary of the Words in the Hebrew Bible,' the word translated 'heath' in verse 6 above means 'a juniper (from its nudity i.e. unclothedness of situation).'
The Amplified Bible puts verses 5 and 6 like this, "Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man
For he shall be like a shrub or A PERSON NAKED and destitute in the desert"
It could also mean openness or transparency, especially between husband and wife (Gen 2:25).
Blindness ignorance or lack of knowledge of the truth (Is. 56:10, Eph. 1:17)
Deafness not sensitive to hear from God/man and respond rightly (Ps. 38:13)
Dumbness not speaking God's mind with others (Ps. 38:13); keeping quite
Cooking − preparing spiritual or intellectual food

Gold treasured possessions (material or human); durability; long-lasting influence

1Cor 5:6-7(NLT), 8 (NIV) reads, "Your boasting about this is terrible. Don't you realize that this SIN is like A LITTLE YEAST that spreads through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old 'yeast' by removing this WICKED PERSON from among you.
Then you will be a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

WARNING
Sometimes, a person, object, place or so in a vision or dream may have a literal interpretation, not a symbolic meaning as earlier explained. For example, a baby in a dream or vision may mean a literal or natural baby just as buying a car in a vision or dream may mean one is going to buy a car in the natural or they may have spiritual or symbolic meanings.
So we need to listen to the Spirit of God to lead us into all truth as regards interpreting visions and dreams as well as in all other areas of life for as many as are led by the Spirit of God are His sons (Ro 8:14, John 16:13).
ADVICE
"And the LORD answered me, and said, WRITE THE VISION, and MAKE IT PLAIN UPON TABLES, THAT HE MAY RUN THAT READETH IT" (Hab 2:2).
Always try to record the details of your dreams, visions and prophecies in a note book for reference purposes and visit it as often as possible so that you will not be found wanting in whatever God says or reveals to you.
I have kept such records for some years and they have proved tremendously helpful to me.

CHAPTER ONE

THE REASON WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER PLAY WITH GOD-GIVEN DREAMS AND VISIONS

Acts 2:17 (NLT) reads, "'In the last days, 'God says, 'I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT UPON ALL PEOPLE. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will SEE VISIONS, and your old men will DREAM DREAMS.' "
On 13th May, 2008, my wife, who has a prophetic ministry saw in a horrible vision while praying. She saw 3 fully mature, muscular ferocious-looking cheetahs accompanied by 1 yellow dog running from Isolo Road to Kudeyibu Estate in Ijegun, Lagos State. We prayed about it, but not seriously enough. Then 2 days later, on 15th May, the pipeline fire explosion took place on the exact road that was shown to her.
You see, the cheetahs speak of fast spreading danger or rapidly moving destruction. The dog speaks of wickedness while yellow means fear in this context.
One night during Evangelist Stephen Jeffrey's preaching, a vision appeared on the wall of the church building. The first thing seen was a lamb followed by a tearful face of Jesus, as a man of sorrows.
The vision lasted for hours as attested to by hundreds of people who entered the sanctuary to see it. When this evangelist prayed about it, he felt that it had appeared as a sign of great suffering that was about to occur. A few weeks later the World War 1 began in 1914.
Sometime in 2010, a man who had read one of our publications called me on the phone and requested to meet me in person. So I gave him an appointment.
But then, I decided to ask the Lord whom this man coming to see me was. Surprisingly, right where I was on the chair, I seemed sleepy and had a quick vision or dream of someone standing on his toes and peeping. Also I saw a house fly. Then I became conscious.
Interestingly, this man eventually came to us to spy our liberty [to peep into our affairs] (Gal 2:4-5).
Worse still, he came with a lying spirit [the house fly in the vision]. He told me lies about women being ministers of the gospel [but my wife is a minister], about the genuineness of my call and about the three persons of the Godhead [He wrongly believed that the Father is the same person as the Son as well as the Holy Spirit].

CHAPTER TWO

SOURCES OF VISIONS AND DREAMS

i. God
'And the LORD said to them, "Now listen to what I say: If there were prophets among you, I, THE LORD, WOULD REVEAL MYSELF IN VISIONS. I WOULD SPEAK TO THEM IN DREAMS." ' (Nu 12:6, NLT).
ii. Satan (2Cor 11:14, NIV)

iii. Man
Eccl 5:3 reveals, "FOR A DREAM COMETH THROUGH THE MULTITUDE OF BUSINESS."
Another version renders this verse as, "TOO MUCH ACTIVITY GIVES YOU RESTLESS DREAMS" (NLT).

CHAPTER THREE

PURPOSE OF VISIONS AND DREAMS

i. To warn us against impending danger (Job 33:14-18, Gen 20:1-7, Mat 2:12, 21-23, Dan 4:13-17,19-27).

ii. To encourage our obedience, especially in discouraging circumstances (Mat 1:18-25, Gen28:10-17, Judg 7:9-16, NIV).

iii. To make us seek God for clearer interpretation (Num 12:6-8, Dan 2:16-18).

iv. To show us past, present or future events (Gen 2:20-23, 1Kgs 3:5-15→ present; Gen 15:7-8,12-16, Gen 37:5-10, Gen 41:1-7, Dan 2:26-28→future).

v. To move us to pray accurately or on target in order to birth or stop some things (Amos 7:1-6).
Some people received warning through dream or vision about a coming disaster which God wanted them to stop through WATCHING and PRAYING, but they took it lightly and the evil befell them.
On the other hand, God may show someone a dream or vision so that they can pray it into reality, but they refuse to pray fervently for it to materialize. So it is never fulfilled (see 1Tim 1:18).
vi. Sometimes, to get our attention after God had spoken to us another way without our perceiving His voice. (So He resorts to dreams).
Job 33: 14-16 explains it, "FOR GOD SPEAKETH ONCE, YEA TWICE, YET MAN PERCEIVETH IT NOT.
IN A DREAM, IN A VISION OF THE NIGHT, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumbering upon the bed;
THEN HE OPENETH THE EARS OF MEN, and sealeth their instructions."

CHAPTER FOUR

HOW TO INTERPRET VISIONS AND DREAMS

i. Realize that God knows all things (Gen 40:8, Deut 29:29).

ii. Pray constantly for the ability or wisdom to interpret (Jam 1:5, Dan 1:17).

iii. Don't assume interpretations, either literal [direct] or symbolic [figurative] (Num 14:44-45, Acts 10:17-21)
Assumption brings frustration and confusion. For example, if a man dreams and sees himself running a snail farm, it may mean that: (1) God wants him to start a snail farm that will bring him financial blessings [literal meaning] or (2) he has to deal with the spirit of slow progress or backwardness [ symbolic meaning].

iv. Study symbolism in the Scriptures, especially in the book of the prophets, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Revelation, etc (2Tim 2:15, Jn 5:39).

v. Read Holy Spirit-inspired books on interpretation of visions and dreams (Pro 27:17).

vi. Check your dictionary for specific meanings of words, idioms, proverbs, similes, analogies, and so on that may relate to what you are shown in your dream or vision (Ro 1:20).

vii. Pray in an unknown tongue over the vision or dream [if you are baptized with the Holy Spirit] and wait patiently (Ro 8:26-27, 1Cor 14:2).

viii. Listen to your heart (1Jn 4:15, Pro 20:27, Job 32: cool

INTRODUCTION
A pastor who runs the Holy Ghost school said our tracts titled "How to Receive the Holy Spirit" has helped quite a number of people to receive the Holy Spirit more easily.
He used some copies in their own sanctuary, some in other locations and the Lord blessed his effort with glowing reports.
When he was travelling abroad for ministrations, he requested some copies of the same tract which he took along.
Here is his own account:
"The New Apostolic Movement has been a channel of blessing to our ministries and the Church at large. This is one of the rare ministries I have come across when it comes to the standard of Gospel materials with spiritual impact.
Among many pieces of literature I have received freely from the ministry, the tract 'How To Receive The Holy Spirit' has basically helped our numerous programmes both locally and internationally.
In our various discipleship centres called "Holy Ghost School" seminars within the Church and in our Africa Gospel tour in the last one year, it has helped the candidates to clearly understand the person of the Holy Spirit, the need to receive Him and the hindrances to receiving Him.
Because of the clarity and details of this tract, many have opened up easily and have been undoubtedly baptized in their number.
It has made our ministrations easy and many are demanding it.
Examples include:
1.Through the use of "How To Receive The Holy Spirit" at a Church, Word of Power Mission, Abaranje, Lagos in September 2009, about 30 people receive the Holy Spirit baptism instantly.
2.At the Holy Ghost school being held in Holiness Hospital, Egbe, Lagos, a notable number of people received the Holy Spirit instantly on two different occasions.
3.At the Life of Christ Centre in Bamenda, Cameroon, a good number of believers receive the Holy Spirit through the same tract in two consecutive meetings in one weekend.
4.Between June and October 2009, at the Holy Ghost School Centre in Liasu Road, Egbe, one or two people received the Holy Spirit through this tract on a regular basis in the space of 4 months."

CHAPTER ONE

BENEFITS OF RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Some years ago, I remember giving a brother by the name of Samuel one of our publications 'Passion for the Lost.'
Some days later, as I was passing by, he rushed after me and admitted that he had been blessed through what I gave him.
So he quickly requested other materials by the ministry, which I gave him free of charge.
One day, he came visiting us with three friends of his. So I asked them if they had received the Holy Spirit since they have believed just as Paul asked the Ephesians in Acts 19:2.
The four of them said, 'No'. Then I gave them a copy of 'How To Receive The Holy Spirit' each to read and come back on a certain day.
When they came, I explained to them the Scriptural way to receive the Holy Spirit, them my wife and I ministered to them.
Two of them were filled with the Spirit evidenced in speaking tongues. They went back home drunk in the Spirit. They walking away supported by someone else lest they should collapse on the way! It was a terrific experience.
Days later, one of them was in their Church programme when he began to prophesy which we had expected to happen right during their last visit. But God knows all things.
I told Samuel when he visited later to go out there and help people receive the Holy Spirit. And so he went out.
He gave a brother a copy of 'How To Receive The Holy Spirit' and left. The next time he saw the brother, he joyfully shared with Samuel the testimony of how God had filled him too with the Holy Spirit by following the steps in the tract he was given days earlier. The word always works!
Read Brother Samuel's own account:
"This testimony, I am about to tell, is the story that changed my life into a different person. When I got born-again, at first, I found it so hard to cope with my hard times and also I nearly lost hope in times of persecution but I thank God Almighty who made everything possible for me to come in contact with the New Apostolic Movement.
It was through you that I got to know that one requires the Holy Spirit in him in order to cope with some things. Also Christ baptized me with the Holy Spirit and fire through you and your wife.
Since then the things that seemed hard for me before and the things I could not do before, I do them now by God's grace. Not only that, God has also blessed some of my friends and brothers through the New Apostolic Movement."
Paul asked some new believers: "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?"(Acts 19:2).
This simply means after being born again by believing and confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savoiur, the next thing to do is to receive the Holy Spirit.

MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR LIFE
(Please first of all study John 14:16-18, 26 and John 16:12-15).
According to John 14: 26 (Amplified Bible):
i.The Holy Spirit is your counselor
He guides you to take the right decisions. He sensitizes you to walk under divine guidance. He comforts and encourages you.

ii.He is your helper
He gives you the supernatural ability to live a holy life. When the Lord Jesus promised his disciples: "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER COMFORTER that he may ABIDE WITH YOU FOR EVER" (John 14:16), what did he mean?
The Greek word translated "comforter" here is "parakletos" which means "someone called alongside to help."
So he was actually saying, "I will send you someone who is just like me to accompany you as a permanent helper throughout your journey in life!"
Also when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, he gives you the power to witness for the Master.
Jesus told his disciples, "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1: cool

You see, the Greek word translated "power" in the scripture above is "dunamis," which means "power to cause a change."

iii.He is your intercessor
The original Greek text literally says he intercedes for the saints in unknown or other tongues, though, through us. [See Romans 8:26-27.]

iv.He is your advocate
He makes all things work together for your good.

v.He is your strengthener
He keeps you from falling.

vi.He is your standby
He is always with you and in you.

vii.He is your teacher
He also opens up you up to understand the word of God. He teaches you truths that set you free from bondage (John 8:32, 2Cor 3:17).

viii.He is your reminder
He works on your memory. He sharpens it.

CHAPTER TWO

HINDRANCES TO RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

i.Ignorance
When Paul asked some believers in Ephesus whether they had received the Holy Ghost or not, their reply was, "No, we have not even heard that there is any Holy Spirit" (see Acts 19:1-2).
Ignorance destroys and deprives God's people of their rights and privileges.
The scripture says that God's people go in captivity because of ignorance; they are destroyed for the same reason (see Isaiah 5:13, Hosea 4:6).

ii.Lack of faith
"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think he shall receive anything of the Lord" (James 1:6-7).
Unbelief says, "I don't think God can do it." Doubt screams, "It seems God can do it but it also appears He can't."
The scripture reveals, "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Heb 11:6, see also Mark 11:22, 24).

iii.Sin
"So that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness" (Heb 3:13).
"In your anger do not sinand do not give the devil a foothold" (Eph 4:26-27, NIV).
Don't be deceived, wherever sin is allowed to operate, Satan also is automatically permitted to operate there and vice versa.
Sin hinders; Satan hinders, too. Remember the drama in the Garden of Eden.

iv.Lack of thirst/willingness
Jesus cried, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink" (Read John 7:37-39). The word "if" here shows conditionality.
Thirst, willingness or desire is a pre-condition for receiving God's blessings because He doesn't force His gifts and goodies on people. It's by faith, not by force.
Jesus said: "Blessed are those who thirst for they shall be filled" (Mt 5:6, see also Is 44:3, Rev 22:17, Jn 5:6).

v.Thinking the Holy Spirit is for a luckily selected few
The Holy Spirit is meant for all flesh all people. When God would love, He loved the world the whole wide world (Jn 3:16)!
On the day of Pentecost, God fulfilled Joel's prophecy: "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on ALL PEOPLE" [NIV] (See Acts 2:16-17).
Also after Peter had preached a fiery message there and then, he concluded, "Repent and be baptized.. And you will receive the gift [not gifts] of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for ALL who are far off, for ALL whom the Lord our God will call" (Acts 2:38-39, NIV).

vi."Tarrying in Jerusalem" mentality
Jesus said, "I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city (of Jerusalem) until you have been clothed with power from on high" (Lk 24:49, NIV).
The early disciples had to tarry or wait for the arrival of the Holy Spirit on earth. So on the day of Pentecost, He finally arrived and has been here ever since (Jn 14:16).
Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us but He sent back the Spirit [who ascended into heaven with Him then] to prepare the bride (the church) for the place being prepared for us (Rev 22:17, 20).
Smith Wigglesworth said, "Stop waiting for the Holy Spirit because He is waiting for you!"

vii.Struggling to experience the so-called second definite work of grace called sanctification as a pre-condition
A part of the church world has wrongly propagated sanctification as the second definite work of grace: saying it is the next experience to the new birth.
Then after it, one can be qualified to receive the Holy Spirit. That's totally unscriptural.
At the new birth, our human spirits are sanctified spontaneously (1Cor 6:11, Heb 10:29) and as we fellowship with God and His people daily, our spirits, souls and bodies are sanctified progressively (1 Thess 5:23).
You see, after the new birth comes the baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire.
You can get born-again in a minute and get baptized or filled with Holy Spirit in the same or next minute (Acts 10:44, 43-47, Acts 11:13-16).
Charles G Finney got born-again in the morning and was filled with the Spirit in the evening of the same day!
Paul neither asked the Ephesians, "Have you experienced sanctification as a second definite work of grace since you believed?"
Nor "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you experienced sanctification as a second definite work of grace?"
But he rather asked, "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?" (See Acts 19:1-2).

CHAPTER THREE

STEPS FOR RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

i.Reckon that the Holy Ghost has been poured out all flesh [once-and-for-all]
"In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on ALL PEOPLE" (Acts 2:17, NIV).
Jesus said, "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever
The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name" (Jn 14:16, 26, NIV).
So Jesus prayed to the Father to send us His Spirit and He did send Him on the day of Pentecost and has been here since. The Spirit is closer to you than you imagine!

ii.Realize that only Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit
John, the Baptist said about Jesus, "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit" (Mt 3:11, NIV).
No preacher can save you or baptize you with the Holy Spirit but God can work through them (1 Cor 3:5).

iii.Confess all unrighteousness in your life [if there is any]
"He that covers his sins shall not prosper but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy" (Pro 28:13).
If your spirit or soul is out of fellowship with God because of sin or if your motive for wanting the Holy Spirit is wrong, then confess any sin in your life (Acts 8:17-23, James 4:2-3).

iv.Believe the word concerning receiving the Holy Spirit
"According to YOUR FAITH will it be done to you" (Mt 9:29, NIV).
Paul asked the Galatian church whether they received the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what they heard (Gal 3:12).
That church certainly received the Spirit by faith. You can receive by faith, too!

v.Confess that you receive the Holy Spirit
The scripture says, "It is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak" (2Cor 4:13).
Salvation is received by confessing Jesus as Lord, so also the Holy Spirit can be received by confessing that God has given His Spirit to all people including you and that you choose to receive Him right now by faith (Rom 10:9-10, Pro 18:20)

vi.Thank God in faith for this blessing
Abraham was recorded to be "strong in faith, giving glory to God" (Rom 4:20).
Strong faith gives thanks to God before and after the manifestation of the His blessings.

vii.Speak in an unknown tongue by faith as the Spirit gives you utterance
"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and [THEY] BEGAN TO SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE" (Acts 2:4).
It is up to the Spirit to give you the utterance but it is your responsibility to speak it out (Mk 16:17).
The Holy Spirit supplies the living water while you just open up your spirit to drink and your mouth to release it for it flows from inside out (John 7:37-39).
I remember ministering to two brothers of the same parents along this line. One of them received the Holy Spirit almost immediately, but the other didn't. Before he left, I gave him some of these steps to follow.
About a week later, he came back baptized in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue! Hallelujah!
He testified to me that the steps worked for him; and I believe they are already working for you already!

SINNER'S CONFESSION

If you are not yet born-again, say this:
I choose to repent today. Also I choose to believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose up for my justification.
The Scripture says, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Rom 10:9).
Therefore, I believe in Jesus in my heart and confess Him as my Lord. Now I am born-again (Amen).

6. "I'M AFRAID GOD CAN'T FORGIVE ME; FOR MY SINS ARE TOO MANY TO REMEMBER."

Jesus said about a sinful woman, "Therefore, I tell you, her MANY SINS have been forgiven" (Luke 7:47, NIV).
Jesus shed his blood to take away the sins of the whole world, no matter how many they are.
Actually, man is not a sinner because of what he does or what he doesn't do. No, he is a sinner because Adam sinned. A sinner is a sinner from the womb.
So, everyone conceived of man is born a sinner. Jesus was not a sinner because, though, he was born of a woman, he was conceived of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20-25, Luke 1:34-35).
You see, man inherited sin from Adam. Romans 5:12,18-19 reads, "Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"
Therefore as by the offence (sin) of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one (Jesus) shall many be made righteous."
Are you a terrible sinner? Are you as terrible as Saul of Tarsus who later became Paul, the apostle.
He wrote, "There is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners- of whom I AM THE WORST. But for that very REASON I was shown MERCY so that in me, THE WORST OF SINNERS, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an EXAMPLE for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life" (1 Timothy 1:15-16NIV).
The grace of God is more than all human sins. This mercy can turn the worst sinner away from hell!
Jesus declared, "Whoever comes to me I will never drive away" (John 6:37, NIV).
God said, "Though your sins are like scarlet (light red colour - not too terrible sins), they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson (deep red colour - very terrible sins), they shall be like wool" (Isaiah 1:18, NIV).

7. "NO ONE CAN BE RIGHTEOUS; FOR WE ARE ALL SINNERS."

Paul wrote, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; being justified (made righteous) freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 3:23-24)
There are two kinds of people in the world: children of the devil and children God, unbelievers and believers, the sinners and the righteous.
You are either a sinner or a righteous person. A sinner is one who has not received Jesus as his personal Saviour while a righteous person is one who has received Jesus.
Everyone who is born-again or has received Jesus has the gift of righteousness.
The Bible says, "For if by one man's offence (sin) death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:17).
Righteousness has been defined as the ability of the human spirit to stand before God without sin consciousness, guilt (condemnation), inferiority, unworthiness or fear.
It is standing before God as though one never sinned. It is right standing with God.
Righteousness is not holiness! While righteousness is right standing with God, holiness is right living (thinking, talking and doing) in God.

What a sinner needs is the gift of righteousness but what a believer needs is the consciousness of righteousness and lifestyle of holiness. The first is a free gift but the second is never a gift at all!
Paul wrote some believers: "Just as you used to offer the parts your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to RIGHTEOUNESS LEADING TO HOLINESS" (Romans 6:19, NIV).
If you are not born-again, then all your righteousness is like a filthy rag before God (see Isaiah 64:6).
But the Bible says concerning every child of God, about you, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"
For he (God) hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM" (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

8. "I THINK I'M NOT PREDESTINED TO BE SAVED BECAUSE I FAIL EACH TIME I TRY TO."

I remember years ago before I got born-again, I struggled with the subject of salvation for months.
I wanted to be born-again, but I didn't know exactly how. At first, I thought it meant to be in a gathering where you will sing, pray and hear the word of God. So I involved myself in such gatherings.
But I soon discovered I had no assurance of salvation. On one occasion, I entered a church and saw people speaking in tongues. Then I thought to myself, "This is what I need to be born-again speaking in tongues."
Without wasting time, I opened my mouth so that I could speak in an unknown tongue, too and thus become born-again. I was, however, sadly disappointed because nothing came out of my mouth.
I didn't throw up my hands in discouragement saying, "I think I'm not predestined to be saved because I fail each time I try to."
Eventually, I got to know that I had to believe in Jesus and call on him to be saved. I did so and became born-again (Romans 10:9-13).
You see, Jesus died for us all and he wants us all saved. But, sadly, not all of us are ready to accept him.
Peter wrote, "He (God) is patient with you, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO PERISH, BUT EVERYONE TO COME TO REPENTANCE" (2 Peter 3:9b, NIV).
Paul affirmed, "This is good, and pleases GOD OUR SAVIOR, WHO WANTS ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH" (1 Timothy 2:3-4, NIV).
Even Jesus declared, "For God so loved THE WORLD (everybody, including you), that he gave his only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER (anyone that) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
When God would love, he love whole world-that includes you! This last verse here says 'whosoever believeth.' That means 'anyone who believes.' This is an open unrestricted invitation to everyone and anyone!

9. "I DON'T WANT TO BE BORN-AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND SOME FAULTS WITH CHRISTIANITY."

Christ is faultless. He is perfect. When Christ was accused before Pilate, the Roman governor, he said, "I find in him (Christ) no fault at all" (John 18:38).
Christ Jesus himself said, "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me" (Matthew 11:6).
Even Satan couldn't find faults with Christ. Jesus put it this way, "For he prince of this world (Satan) cometh, and HATH NOTHIHG IN ME" (John 14:30).
Besides, some are trying to fault the Scriptures. David wrote, "The law of the LORD (the Scripture) is PERFECT who can discern his (God's) errors (faults)?" (Psalm 19:7,12,NIV).
You can't discern his errors because he has none. That is why the Scripture is error-free.
Jesus declared boldly, "The Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35).
That means it is not false. I am yet to find one truth which contradicts another in the word of God. Why?
It's so because, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" and "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
For example, Luke 23:43 says, "And Jesus said unto him, ' Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.' "
This was Jesus' message to the thief who was crucified with him on the right-hand side. The translators put it this way, and it means that, that thief would be with Jesus in paradise that very day.
But when Jesus died on the cross, he went to hell immediately, not to paradise (heaven). He remained there for three days and nights. It was after his resurrection that he went up into heaven (Acts 2:31, Ephesians 4:9-10, John 20:11-29, Acts 1:1-11).
Interestingly, in the original Greek text, that Luke 23:43 reads something like, "And Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee today (I am saying it today), 'Thou shalt be with me in paradise."
So the translators missed it but the Greek writer did not! Jesus was not saying "You will be with me in paradise today." No, not at all. Rather, he said, "I say it to you today: 'You will be with me in paradise (some day)."
Lastly, some are trying to find faults with believers, especially with prophets, pastors and so on.
Jesus warned, "Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment" (John 7:24, NIV).
He continued, "You judge by human standards: I pass judgment on no one" (John 8:15, NIV).
If, for example, you find some believers, especially Christian leaders dig their hands into sins: stealing, adultery, lying, killing, gossiping, anger, pride and such like, then leave their judgment to God.
Hebrew 10:30-31 (NIV) reads, "For we know him who said, 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay, and again, 'The Lord will judge his people; It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

10. "IF I GET BORN-AGAIN, I WILL BE PERSECUTED BY RELATIONS, FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS OR NEIGHBOURS."

Jesus told his disciples, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:10-12, NIV).
Some folks are afraid to accept Jesus into their lives because of fear of persecution. The fear of man brings a snare or hindrance (Proverbs 29:25).
If you face persecution because you get born-again, Jesus says you are blessed! In the face of insult, persecution and false accusation for the sake of becoming a child of God, he tells the believer to rejoice and be glad, for his reward will be great in heaven!
I heard the story of a girl who got born-again, but backslid because of persecution from her father. Eventually, her father also got born-again. Then his friends challenged him, "When your daughter gave her life to Jesus, you persecuted her until she turned away from Jesus. Now you've given your life to the same Jesus."
He replied to them, "If my daughter knew the same Jesus that I now know, I wouldn't have been able to turn her away from him. In my case, no one, not even my great grandfather can turn me away from this Jesus that I know."
Jesus warned, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell
Whoever acknowledges (confesses) me before men, I will also acknowledge (confess) before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns (denies) me before men, I will disown (deny) him before my father in heaven
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me, and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it "(Matthew 10:28,32-33,37-39, NIV).
Also there was a story of a girl who was persecuted at home, and was probably disowned by her parents for becoming born-again.
Then, a foreigner (an American or so) visited Nigeria. God revealed that girl to him supernaturally. He later sponsored her abroad.
No wonder David wrote, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up" (Psalm 27:10).

Some people find it difficult to become born-again because of one or more of the following wrong beliefs or notions. If any of them has been hindering you, it is your time now to overcome and become genuinely saved.
Congrats ahead! Don't stop reading this article until your find peace with God through Christ Jesus.

1. "I CAN'T BELIEVE IN JESUS WHOM I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE."
Are you one of those people who refused to believe in Jesus because you have not seen him face to face?
That reminds me of Thomas, a disciple of Jesus. When he was told about Jesus' resurrection by those who had seen the Lord (Jesus), he responded, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it" (John 20:25,NIV).
Some days later, Jesus appeared to them but said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. STOP DOUBTING AND BELIEVE."
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN AND YET HAVE BELIEVED" (John 20:27-29, NIV).
Before I got born-again, I had that problem. I used to reason then: 'How will I believe in Jesus whom I had neither seen nor met? I was told he shed his blood for me but I had never seen that blood!'
For some time, I wrestled with that thought until I understood that I didn't have to see him and his blood to believe; I had to believe with my heart, not with my five natural senses.
Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) reads, "That if you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord and BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is WITH YOUR HEART THAT YOU BELIEVE and are justified (made righteous), and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
This have been the problem of some scientists, professors, philosophers among others. After searching for God with their senses without finding him, they conclude that God is not real - that Jesus is not the saviour of mankind.
John 1:1,14 declares Jesus as the Word, and also as God who became flesh and dwelt among men (see also Isaiah 9:6).
Job 11:7 reads, "Canst thou by searching find out God?" The answer is certainly a big NO!
Peter wrote under God's inspiration to some believers, "Though you have not seen him (Jesus), you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy" (1 Peter 1:8, NIV).

2. "PEOPLE OF ALL RELIGIONS ARE SERVING THE SAME GOD."
One of his disciples asked him, "So how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I AM THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME" (John 14:5-6, NIV).
Jesus did not say, "I am a way and a truth and a life" That means there are no two ways; there is no other truth; and there is no other life. He IS THE ONLY WAY, THE ONLY TRUTH and THE ONLY LIFE.
He said no one comes to the Father, only (except) through him. What then is the hope of those claiming to come to the Father through other people apart from Jesus Christ?
Ever since Adam and Eve sinned, there has been a vacuum (empty space) in the heart of everyone born of a woman into this world.
All the religions of the world came up in an attempt to fill up this emptiness (vacuum).
Interestingly, only Jesus Christ can satisfactorily and accurately fill in that vacuum because, as somebody said, it is Jesus-shaped, that is, it is shaped to occupy only Jesus!
That was why Jesus said, "All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture" (John 10:8-9, Gideon's International).
That means all the people who have brought false religions such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, traditional religions, false Christianity (Catholicism, Christian Science, and so on) and such like into the world are thieves and robbers!
The Bible says, "For there is ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN THE MAN CHRIST JESUS, who gave himself as a ransom (redemption price) for all men" (1 Timothy 2:5-6, NIV).
Jesus is the only mediator between God and mankind. According to Dr. W.E. Vine's Greek Dictionary of New Testament Words, a mediator is a go-between, a reconciler, one who acts as a guarantee so as to secure something which otherwise, would not be obtained.
So, Jesus is your mediator. He is my mediator. He is our mediator, middleman or intermediary who removed the enmity between God and men (see Ephesians 2:12-18).

3. "I WILL SERVE GOD LATER, AFTER I HAVE ENJOYED MY LIFE AND ACHIEVED MY GOALS."

Several years ago, some brethren went to preach to a young man in a particular place. He told them to go away that he wanted to enjoy his life first and probably that he might listen to them thereafter.
Unfortunately, some days later, this young man was a dead fellow! When I was told about his death by one of our brothers I felt unhappy.
Friend, maybe you have been postponing your salvation. Now, hear this warning: "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth" (Proverbs 27:1, NIV).
James also admonished, "Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money; why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist (vapour, fog, cloud) that appears for a little while and then vanishes (disappears). Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that. As it is you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil" (James 4:13-16, NIV).
Somebody sang this song:
Today is the day of salvation (2ce).

If you delay, tomorrow may be late (3ce).

There is danger, if you delay!

2 Corinthians 6:2 declares, "Behold, NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME; BEHOLD, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION."
If you are not yet born-again, you need to accept Jesus right now before it's too late.
"Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near" (Isaiah 55:8, NIV).
God says a time is coming that this will be too late for you: "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me" (Proverbs 1:28, NIV).
Now the Bible says, "TODAY (NOT TOMORROW) if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts" (Hebrews 4:7, NIV).

4. "GOD IS TOO GOOD TO CONDEMN SINNERS TO HELL."

On the one hand, God is good. On the other hand, He is severe (strict, harsh, stern). Romans 11:22 says, "Behold therefore the GOODNESS (KINDNESS) and SEVERITY (STRICTNESS, HARSHNESS, STERNNESS) of God"
Friend, there is a heaven to gain but a hell to shun. The choice is yours.
Mathew 25:41 (NIV) reads, "Then he (Jesus) will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the ETERNAL FIRE (LAKE OF FIRE) prepared for the devil and his angels."
Hell fire is a temporal fire but the lake of fire is an eternal fire. Revelation 20:14 declares, "And DEATH and HELL were cast into THE LAKE OF FIRE"
The Bible teaches that the lake of fire was never made for mankind but the disobedience or sinful will end up there (see Matthew 25:41 above). This implies that people can go to hell, which was never made for them.
The psalmist wrote, "The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17).
God does not intend people to be condemned to hell but anyone who rejects Jesus Christ as the Saviour is condemned to hell!
That was why Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:16-18).

5. "IF GOD TRULY LOVES US, WHY DOES HE ALLOW BAD THINGS TO HAPPEN TO US?"

We blame God ignorantly for the bad things that happen to us. But he is never to blame.
The Bible says, "The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to man (mankind)" (Psalm 115:16, NIV).
That means God is responsible for whatever happens in the highest heavens but man is responsible for whatever happens on earth.
God exercises his dominion in the heavens but he gave man dominion over all the earth.
The Bible says, "And God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let THEM have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, AND OVER ALL THE EARTH
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH (RESTORE) THE EARTH and SUBDUE IT: and have DOMINIONover every living thing that moveth upon the earth
And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, IT WAS VERY GOOD" (Genesis 1:16-28,31).
God made all things very good but when man fell, sin came into the world. It is the sin of man that brought death, diseases, poverty, pains, accidents, and all the mishaps we see in the world today (read Romans 5:12, Matthew 9:2-7).
When Adam and Eve sinned, God knew the consequences of sin (death, diseases, calamities, etc) would follow. And when he asked Adam what had gone wrong, he said, "The woman you (God) put here with me - she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it.
Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate" (Genesis 3:12-13, NIV).
You see, Adam blamed God and Eve for the evil. Eve blamed the serpent (the devil). The devil would have probably blamed the tree planted or created by God himself.
This blame game dates back to the Garden of Eden. So, friend stop blaming God for any misfortune of mishap you must have suffered in life. God loves you. Jesus loves you. He loved you enough to die to give you life!
Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

Blessed be the LORD! 10th August, 2015 made it 22 years that i have been born again. It all began around 1992 in Unity Sec Schl Oye Ekiti when Tayo and another girl went out to urinate in their hostel at night. Unexpectedly, they saw an angel in the moon with a drawn-out sword. By daybreak, the news spread rapidly among the studentry. By the eve of the same day, either as mere coincidence or as an act of God, the sky turned reddish. So fear gripped a lot of us students thinking the world was coming to an end. As a result, my friend, Ayo Ogunsakin and I rather than go to our class room went to the music room to observe our evening prep and began a fellowship same night all in ignorance. (We thought that would help us escape God's wrath.) That fellowship later attracted hundreds of students after we had left the school. Eventually, i became the president of the fellowship there and then. I was easy going. No stealing. No girl friends. No smoking. I was a moralist sinner leading Christian brothers and sisters but i was not born again. People thought i was saved but I knew I was walking gently down to hell. I led prayers & praises. I gave sermons. I went on evangelism. I was very religious. Still, i was never saved! Hard to believe? On a particular sunday, instead of bringing a Reverend from town, I was asked to speak to all the students dressed in white uniform. The message was powerful! As I told them Jesus was coming soon and to be born-again, my conscience was pricking me: "What about you?" I probably shed some tears while preaching. My friend, Bro Sola, told me after the service that my sermon was powerful. I knew it because it convicted me too. The message hit Sister Kemi in a hard way. She prayed like a wounded lion! Still i did not get born-again. If God could use the donkey of Balaam, then don't ask why he used me as a moralist selfrighteous sinner. Cornelius was a good man but not saved until Peter preached to him (Acts 10). At a time, I thought being born-again was the same as speaking in tongues. So i tried to get it but nothing came. How ignorant I was! But thank God for a Deeper Life magazine I read that explained being born-again to me. I needed to REPENT, BELIEVE & CONFESS. Another great challenge I had was how to believe in Jesus and his blood which I had never seen before. I was very hard for me. I knew without being born-again I was doomed to HELL! So on 10th August, 1993, in our living room, i knelt down alone. I repented from my heart, believed in Jesus and his blood that were not visible to me. Jesus said, "Blessed are those that have not seen me, yet believe in me" (John 20:29). I confessed Jesus as my Lord and immediately there was a difference in my heart. It was as if a heavy load or stone was rolled away from my chest. Peace and joy that i had never experienced until then came into my heart. I did not need a prophet to tell me i was born-again. Rom 5:1 says "Being justified by faith we have PEACE WITH GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ." So i got up and began to jump and dance because at last, after months of seeking salvation, i got it. This is not religion or going to church. In fact, you can go from church into hell. Churchianity, Islam, Buddhism, traditionalim... can't save u. Jesus said, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH & the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Now what are you to do before it is too late? Rom 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth 'JESUS IS LORD' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will saved." Do it right now & you won't regret it! I break the power of sin over your life in Jesus' name. I command the demons of drug, alcohol, sex, religion, money and deception to lose its grips and holds over your soul now in Jesus' name! Come out of darkness. Come out of oppression. Come out of bondage and pollution. In Jesus' name! Yes, welcome to the liberty of the sons of God. This is intended to help those seeking salvation who do not understand very well what it means to be scripturally, truly born-again. It will also help believers communicate it better to the unbelivers. It will empower them to preach the Word of God, not tradition, not dead religion nor human reasoning to those on the verge of eternity, who need the true word of life to rescue them from hell!

WHAT BEING BORN-AGAIN IS NOT

1. IT IS NOT A PHYSICAL EXPERIENCE.
Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, the Spirit gives birth to spirit" (John 3:6, NIV).
Your earthly mother gave birth to your body, but only God's Spirit can make your spirit born-again.

2. IT IS NOT LIVING A MORALLY SOUND LIFE.
Cornelius was a man who was committed to religion, feared God, gave alms to the needy and was very prayerful.
Yet an angel appeared to him telling him to meet peter who would preach to him to become born-again (Acts 10:1-48).
So being born-again is more than "I don't smoke," "I don't fornicate," "I don't kill," "I don't steal," "I don't dress like a prostitute," and so on.

3. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT BELONGING TO A DENOMINATION OR LOCAL CHURCH.
Nicodemus, a Pharisee, who came to Jesus by night, was a synagogue leader. Yet Jesus told him, "You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born-again' " (John 3:7, NIV).
Do you that being a pastor or priest doesn't mean you are born-again? I have being preaching to others and have been a member of a denomination or local church since before I got born-again.

4. IT IS NOT WATER BAPTISM.
Water baptism is administered only after one is born-again to show that one's sins are washed away through Jesus' blood.
Paul baptized some born-again believers with water in Ephesus (Acts 19:1-5). Being born-again is even far from 'confirmation' or someone sprinkling water on you.

5. IT IS NOT SPEAKING IN TONGUES.
Jesus said, "And these signs will accompany those who believe. In my namethey will speak in new tongues" (Mark 16:17, NIV).
Only after you are born-again can you receive the ability to speak in a new tongue.

6. IT IS NOT A FAMILY HERITAGE.
"When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. His sin spread death throughout all the world, so everything began to grow old and die, for all sinned" (Romans 5:12, Living Bible).
We were all born as sinners. None of us was born a Christian. But as many of us who have accepted Jesus into our lives are now born-again.

7. IT IS NOT CHANGE OF CHANGE.
Jesus said, "Yes woe upon you hypocrites. For you go to all lengths to make one convert, and then turn him into twice the son of hell you are yourselves" (Matthew 23:15, Living Bible).
Changing from the Islamic, traditional, Buddhist or Hindu religion to nominal Christianity without being born-again will not save anybody.
You may even change your name to Esther, Moses, Paul or Mary. But unless you are born-again, hell fire awaits you!

WHAT BEING BORN-AGAIN MEANS
It is a spiritual experience. a rebirth of the human spirit. Man is a spirit, who has a soul and lives in a body (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
When Jesus said, "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit," he meant our parents (mothers) can only give birth to our bodies (flesh) while only God can give birth to our spirits (John 3:6).
It is being born of God through the recreation of the human spirit. That was why Paul wrote, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV).

HOW TO BE BORN-AGAIN
'That if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord." And believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved' (Romans 10:9-10, NIV).
To be born-again, one needs to take these steps:

1. REPENT
Turn away from the devil. Turn away from sins. Turn to God (Mar k 1:15).

2. BELIEVE
Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose up for your justification. After Jesus had risen from the dead, he appeared to his disciples. But when Thomas who was absent then was told, he protested, "Unless I see Jesus myself and touch him I will not believe."
Days later, Jesus appeared to them again and said, "BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN AND YET HAVE BELIEVED" (see John 20:24-29, NIV).

3. CONFESS
Now confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. Tell him you accept him into your life. This is an automatic rejection of Satan's dominion over your life.

Paul warned “I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, NOT WITH braided hair or GOLD or PEARLS or expensive clothes” (1Tim. 2:9 NIV).
Peter also warned, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the WEARING OF GOLD JEWELRY and fine clothes” (1 Peter 3:3, NIV).

10 ReasonS Why We Must Avoid Jewellery

1. God told the Israelites to borrow gold, silver and clothes from the Egyptians and put them on their children, not on themselves, I believe, for safety reasons.

The gold and silver was a form of wealth serving as their reward for the unrewarded hard labour they did in Egypt (Gen 15:13-14, Gen 13: 2).
Exodus 3:22 (NIV) reveals that God told Moses, “Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egptians” (See verse 21, too).

2.Then God later asked them to bring the gold and silver as offering to build the tabernacle, not to decorate their bodies.

The LORD said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering .
"…These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze…
"Then have them make a sanctuary for me…. Make this tabernacle…’’ (Exodus 25:1-3, 8-9, NIV, see vs 11-40).
Gold is a building material. That’s why the heavenly city is built with gold among other things (Rev 21:18, 21).
You may use it to manufacture cars or equipment; build or decorate a house, and so on. But don't use it to decorate your body!

3. Jewellery is part of what prostitutes use to seduce people.

God says, ‘’I will punish her for the days she burned incense to the Baals; she decked herself with rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers, but me she forgot…
"The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls….
"This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH’’ (Hosea 2:13, Rev 17:4-5, NIV, see also Isaiah 3:16-23, Ezekiel 23:1-3, 40).

4. It is an idol.

Gen25:2,4 (NLT) reveals, ‘So Jacob told everyone in his household, ‘’Get rid of all your pagan idols, purify yourselves….
So they gave Jacob all their pagan idols and earrings, and buried them…’’ ’ (See Ezekiel 7:15-21, Rev 21: cool

.

5. God hates it.

In Exodus 3:22, He didn’t command those women that collected the jewellery to wear it, but Exodus 32:2 shows that it became their lifestyle.
But then in Exodus 33, God commanded them to remove it all because he hated it.
“…No one put on any ornaments. For the LORD had said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites, ‘You are a stiff-necked people. If I were to go with you even for a moment, I might destroy you. Now take off your ornaments and I will decide what to do with you. So the Israelites stripped off the ornaments at Mount Horeb” (Exo. 33:4-6, NIV).
Jesus told Sis. Carillo from Bolivia that he hates jewellery!

6. Paul and Peter instructed us to take our eyes off them.

“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, NOT WITH braided hair or GOLD or PEARLS or expensive clothes" (1Tim. 2:9, NIV, see also 1Pet 3:3).

7. It's a sign of worldliness.

1 John 2:15-17 reveals, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
If I come to you as a man preaching with chain on my neck and earrings in my ears, how will you feel about me?
Does the Bible say men should not wear it, but only women should wear it?
Years ago, I bought a chain which I wore on my neck for some time. Shortly afterwards, I became born-again.
No one told me to stop using it. I knew it was worldly.

Church history had it that on 17th February, 1930, three visitors believed to be angels came to a prayer group attended by Prophet Orekoya who later became a disciple of Apostle Ayo Babalola.
The angels gave Prophet Orekoya 3 instructions for them, one of which was that their women should stop using golden ornaments, earrings and other bodily adornments (1 Pet 3:1-4).

Later on, Apostle Babalola founded the Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) and passed a similar instruction to them.
It's important to notice that in the life testimony of Evang. Funmilayo Adebayo of RAPEC, Lagos who served Satan for several years before Jesus arrested her, a mention was made of a particular year when the kingdom of darkness was sad because more people on earth made heaven the year that had just ended than the year before due to the fact that Apostle Babalola commanded CAC women to avoid worldly adornment such as jewellery!

Guess what. Satan was sad and mad because the number of people who made heaven in a year increased to just fifteen (15)!
And it was traced to CAC in Nigeria because the women avoided worldly adornment like jewellery!
She was also the strong woman spiritually behind the invention of hair relaxer intended to take African women in particular to hell!

Today, she is a Christian. In fact, after she was born-again, she disposed of her jewellery which was worth N30 million into a pit toilet and gave up her ill-gotten wealth!

8. It's based on human traditions, not doctrine of Christ.

For instance, the wedding ring originated from Egypt. Then the Romans embraced it. Later on, Europeans and Americans took it to the level of expensive fashion.
In fact, Germans, Indians, Jews, and so on had their different funny human traditions that make use of wedding ring. But these human traditions are foreign to the Bible!

In Matthew 15:3, 6-9, Jesus was blunt with the misleading religious leaders: "But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
6. ... Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
In some places or cultures, ring was a seal of marriage as a contract between families, not a union of love between two people.

Around 860 AD, after rejecting it as worldly or ungodly for a long time, Christians adopted it when they decided to make marriage official.
It was majorly for the bride or woman, but it became popular among men in the 1940's.

Warning!

In John 12:48-49 (NIV), Jesus warned: "There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. 49. For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken."

9. It's a sign of ignorance or deception.

Ignorance is the result of lack of knowledge while deceit (deception) is the outcome of lack of understanding or of correct interpretation.
Hosea 4:6 reads, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
People use jewellery because they don't know what they are doing; and they don't know that they don't know!
Colossians 2:8 says,"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Others use it because they have been cleverly deceived by their dearest pastor and the pastor's wife through smart misinterpretation or misunderstanding of the Bible.
If you and your leaders are blind to these truths, just remember that Jesus said if the blind lead the blind, they will both fall into the pit (Matthew 15:14, see Isaiah 42:19-22).

Ignorance Is No Excuse

Luke 12:47-48(NIV) points out, "The servant who knows the master's will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows..."
Romans 2:1 (AMP) reads, "Therefore you have no excuse, defense or justification, O man..."

10. People from around the world who have seen or visited hell and/or heaven reveal that ordinary jewellery take people to hell.

Once you leave this world, you may not have a second chance to come back here and repent!
Friend, you only have this one life to live. There is no duplicate.
Don't spend eternity in torments of unquenchable fire because of worldly fashion!
After a billion years a billion times has ended, eternity is just about to 'unfold.'
Years without an end. Where will you spend your years without end?

CAUTION AND BALANCE

Proverbs 4:26-27 warns: "Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. 27. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."
It's important for us to avoid two wrong extremes here.
On the one hand, don't look kinky, sexy, worldly and ungodly on your way to hell, though, you may be truly born-again.
On the other hand, don't look hagard, wretched, unkempt, dirty, offcolour or smelly; even if you are the holiest Christian on earth!
If a wife or spinster begins to dress, smell or feel like an old school remote villager of the 16th Century or Stone Age, then she may have self-inflicted, unneeded marital or premarital crisis respectively and some other social issues.
Be balanced, wise and presentable to God and man!

SINNER’S CONFESSION

If you are not yet born-again, say this:
I choose to repent today. Also I choose to believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose up for my justification.
The Scripture says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9).
Therefore, I believe in Jesus in my heart and confess Him as my Lord. Now I am born-again (Amen).

SAY THIS ALOUD TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT

Also Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1: cool

And on the day of Pentecost “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).
Therefore, I receive the Holy Spirit by faith right now and I begin to speak in an unknown tongue (unlearned tongue) as He gives me the utterance.
I command every foul spirit [spirit of fear, spirit of unbelief, spirit of doubt, religious spirit, unforgiving spirit…] wanting to hinder me to stop in its evil operation in my life in Jesus’ name.
Thank you God for filling me with your Spirit in Jesus’ name (Amen).

Peter also admonished, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as BRAIDED HAIR and the WEARING OF GOLD JEWELRY and FINE CLOTHES " (1 Pet 3:3, NIV).
The servant of God, Margaret Amure that I wrote about earlier was condemned to hell because of hatred towards her husband, her wearing trousers, using jewellery and weave-on (or attachment) and make-up.
She woke us up to the reality that part of the reasons why women are very few in heaven was due to their mode of dress and adornment.
Other people have confirmed some of these things. You can google Mrs Carillo from Bolivia, Linda from Sierra Lone, Samuel Tega from Nigeria, and so on.
Very importantly, KJV renders "braided" in 1 Timothy 2:9 above as "broided." And that is from the Greek word "plegma" which according to Thayer's Greek Lexicon means "what is woven, plaited, or twisted together; a web, plait, braid."
So this verse is saying women and girls should not have their hair woven, plaited, or twisted together.
God wants us to avoid artificial beauty. He wants us to be natural in our looks and to maintain that naturalness. He wants us to be natural and decent.
Don't weave or plait your hair with anything. Neither use wool, thread nor even your own hair to get your hair plaited!
Those making attachments or weave-ons, those selling them, those advertising them, those dressing people's hair with them and those working with the companies manufacturing such are all on their way to hell!
Even as an estate agent or land lord don't rent out shops to people who want to sell attachments, alcoholic drinks, jewellery, make-up kits, cigarettes, women trousers, and so on.
1 Timothy 5:22 (NIV) warns: "Do not be hasty... and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure."

2. Fixing [of weave-on or artificial hair]

“Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be’ (1 Thes 5:22, amp).
Having artificial hair or another person’s natural hair fixed on your head is a sign that you are neither appreciative nor satisfied with your natural God-given hair.
If God has endowed you with natural Brazilian, African, Chinese, British or Australian hair [long or short, brown or grey, black or red], then be satisfied with that. Don’t change it; just maintain it in a neat and healthy way.

3. Hair Relaxer

Hair relaxer was invented years ago to change the hair texture. This terrible perversion has made it easy for many Africans to jerry curl or perm their hair or even to apply packing gel.
If your hair is relaxed, it does not have a natural look anymore.
As a heavenly candidate you must cut off relaxed hair from your head and let it grow natural hair afresh.
My wife had to visit the barbershop to have her relaxed hair cut when we got this revelation through Brother Kingsley Ubani. (Read his publication online: Time Is Over; Run for Your Life!)
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth”(Prov 27:1, NIV).
Please note that God did not command women to cut their hair. No. (See 1 Cor 11).
If you have long or short natural hair, just maintain it. But if your hair is artificial, then you will need to remove the artificiality or cut it so that natural hair can grow again!

4. WIG

This is man-made or false hair that is worn on the head. It is equally wrong and sinful.

5. TINTING

This is the act of slightly altering the colour of one’s hair. Why do you have to change your hair from black to brown or from yellow to red?
“But godliness with contentment is great gain” (1Tim 6:6).
This implies that godliness without contentment is great loss. O what great eternal loss that could be!
What a discontented generation of men and women, boys and girls we have today!

6. DYEING

People, especially elderly ones sometimes dye their grey or white hair. I never saw anything wrong about it until Sister Carrillo saw someone in hell guilty of dyeing her hair.
The Bible says, “The glory of young men is their strength, grey hair the splendor [beauty] of the old…..
The hoary [grey] head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness” (Pro 20:29, NIV; Prov 16:31, KJV).

7. BLOWING/STRETCHING THE HAIR

Blowing or stretching the hair is another form of perversion. This will stop anyone from making heaven. Scrape it off now.

8. ARTIFICIAL SPORTING WAVES

Some hair waves are natural but those artificial ones must be removed from your hair if you are preparing for the rapture.
Either by washing or shaving, remove this abomination called fashion immediately.

9. HAIR GELLING/JELLING

You don’t have to gel your hair. Just wash your natural hair with a good soap, apply a good hair cream that maintains and retains its naturalness and comb it. This applies to both male and female.

10. WRONGLY STYLED HAIRCUT

God said, “Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard” (Lev 19:27, NIV).
No Christian should have a nasty haircut. One side higher than the other, all-back, flattop, artificial dreadlocks, artificial parting, fashionable beard, and so on are ungodly.
Earlier in my Christian life, I used to wear crazy styles. One day, a guy mocked me that the style on my head was called “Girls follow me.”
Nevertheless I did not change until one day that I preached the gospel with an ungodly haircut on my head, and one of the listeners, a young boy, challenged my authority for preaching with the kind of hairstyle I had. It shook me that I could be preaching the right gospel while my hairstyle preached a wrong gospel!!
God used that experience to change me forever.
Paul wrote, “Therefore, if [my eating a] food is a cause of my brother’s falling or of hindering [his spiritual advancement], I will not eat [such] flesh forever, lest I cause my brother to be tripped up and fall and to be offended” (I Cor 8:13, AMP).

11. UNCOVERING THE HAIR

A careful study of 1 Cor 11 shows there are two types of covering for a female, namely:
i. Natural or Irremovable covering - this speaks of a woman's NATURAL long hair.
Someone noted that this is A COVERING, but not THE COVERING!
Yes, she needs more than that.
1 Corinthians 11:14-15 (NIV) reveals, "Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,
15. but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering."
ii. Artificial or Removable covering - this speaks of a form of fabric.
1 Corinthians 11:5 (NIV) reads, "But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved."
It has been explained that since this covering is to be worn or used when prophesying or praying, [not necessarily when bathing, taking care of your hair, cooking or walking down the road] therefore it's removable!

Ten Truths Every Believer Should Understand about Head Covering

1. It seems God and angels don't like to see a woman's hair (long or short) whenever she is prophesying or praying (1 Cor 11:5,6,10,13), but they want to see a man's hair whenever he's prophesying or praying (vs 4).

2. A woman not covering her head [exposing her hair] and her having her head shaven or shorn are both dishonorable or shameful: the former is a dishonour to her head [husband], which is sinful while the latter is an unsinful dishonour to herself (vs 5b,6).

3. A woman has only one choice from these two options:

i. either she covers her head with a fabric
ii. or she shaves or cut off (skin) her hair (vs 6).

4. Long hair is a woman's glory, but shaven (skinned) head is a woman's shame (vs 6, 15).

5. Long hair (not short hair) is a woman's natural covering, but she needs more than that (vs 15b)!
[How many of you women or girls have NATURAL long hair? That's A covering for you, but not THE covering yet!]

6. There is a removable (artificial, fabric) covering to be used when a female is praying or prophesying (vs 5).

7. Artificial fabric covering is a sign of authority on a woman's head (vs 10, NIV).

8. A man or boy should not cover his head whenever praying or prophesying lest he should dishonour his head [Christ] (vs 3,4).

9. Church history shows that women and girls should cover their head with a removable, artificial fabric covering whenever they are praying or prophesying.
According to an article titled: "Is a Woman’s Long Hair Her Covering?" by Jeremy Gardiner, the founder of the Head Covering Movement, Dr. Thomas Schreiner (Professor of New Testament Interpretation, SBTS), A.T. Robertson (Former Professor of New Testament Interpretation, SBTS) and Greek scholar Dr. Daniel Wallace did a good work to clarify these two forms of coverings for a woman or girl!
Jerry also pointed out that Tertullian (160 – 215 AD), wrote just 150 years after Paul wrote 1 Corinthians revealing that the church in Corinth was still following the Biblical custom of women covering their hair with a veil or clothing in his day.
In fact, Tertullian noted, “So, too, did the Corinthians themselves understand him. In fact, at this day the Corinthians do veil their virgins. What the apostles taught, their disciples approve.”
Jerry buttressed that Hippolytus (170 – 236 AD) similarly penned these words about the same time “…let all the women have their heads covered with an opaque cloth…”

10. There was a true testimony of a Christian woman who was condemned to hell because she was guilty of not covering her head in prayer or prophesying (John 12:47-49, John 10:35b)!
She didn't repent before she died. So she went to hell. You can argue it today, but a day is coming when no one can argue it any more!

WRONG CLOTHING

Wrong clothing can be classified into 5 groups namely:

1. Opposite-sex clothes

Deut. 22:5 (NIV) warns, “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your GOD detests anyone who does this”.
Some may agree that this was relevant under the Law and that why can’t we keep the other laws in Deut. 22. Why must we single out this verse?
The truth is: if you read the whole chapter 22, you will discover that it is only this verse 5 that has this clause: “FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD DETESTS (HATES or DISLIKES) ANYONE WHO DOES THIS (NIV).”
The KJV puts it as: “FOR ALL THAT DO SO ARE ABOMINATION UNTO THE LORD THY GOD.”
So there are things that God hates or dislikes under the law; and which he also hates or dislikes under grace (see Prov. 6:16-19).
This verse does not say God hates or dislikes the practice, but it says He hates or dislikes the person who practices it (Rom 9:13)!
But then, it implies that he hates the practice deeply!

2. Sexy Clothes

Prov. 7:10 reads, “And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot…”
This talks about a woman with the dress of a prostitute.
Hosea 2:2 (NLT) says “…..Tell her to remove the prostitute’s make up from her face and CLOTHING THAT EXPOSES HER BREASTS.”
Rom. 12:7b (NIV), “….Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.”
Any clothes that suggest sex is wrong.
Christians men and women, boys and girls preparing for heaven should avoid clothes that are see-through (transparent), body-revealing, too-short, too-tight, sagging and so on.
Your breasts, cleavage, bra, pants (underwears), thighs, shoulders, stomach, and so on should not be exposed.
Both male and female should wear clothes that cover their legs, chests, back of the neck, and so on all to a reasonable extent.
Paul instructed women to “adorn themselves in MODEST APPAREL” in I Tim. 2:9 (KJV).
The Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English defines modest thus: “Modest clothing covers the body in a way that does not attract sexual interest.”
It also describes modest as “shy about showing your body or attracting sexual interest, because you are easily embarrassed; not very big, expensive etc, especially less big, expensive etc than you would expect."
So modest clothes are neither sexy nor expensive.
He wrote that women should “adorn themselves in modest apparel, with SHAMEFACEDNESS AND SOBRIETY” (I Tim. 2:9).
Dr. Vine’s Greek Dictionary defines “shamefacedness” as "a sense of shame, modesty and is used regarding the demeanor of women in the church…..(It’s) rooted in character….(and) reflected in the face.”
Again, the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English defines “demeanor” as "the way someone behaves or looks that gives you a general idea of their character.”
Also Dr. Vine’s Greek define sobriety in 1 Tim. 2:9 as “Soundness of mind…sanity or (fig.) self-control. (It) refers to having complete control over the passions and desires so that they are lawful and reasonable; a certain cultailment and regulation of passions, both removing those that are improper and excessive and also arranging those that are necessary to the proper time and in moderation.”
So 1 Tim. 2:9 that says “that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety” can be simplified as “that women adorn themselves in unsexy and inexpensive clothes, with a sense of shame (uncomfortable feeling of guilt and embarrassment experienced when you are wrong) and soundness of mind (self-control with moderation in proper things.”)

3. Expensive Clothes

Paul warned, “I also want women to dress MODESTY, WITH DECENCY AND PROPRIETY, NOT WITH braided hair or gold pearls or EXPENSIVE CLOTHES” (1 Tim. 2:9, NIV).
Peter also admonished, “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and FINE CLOTHES” (1 Pet. 3:3, NIV).
According to the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, one of the meanings of "fine" is “grand, expensive, better than others of the same kind.”
Grand means impressive.
So “fine clothes” above refer to “impressive and expensive clothes.”

4. Clothes with Wrong

Paul wrote that women should adorn themselves modesty “not with braided hair, or gold or pearls or costly array” (1 Tim. 2:9 KJV).
This implies Christians should not wear even clothes that have pearls, diamond, gold, stones, beads, chains, cowries, and so on attached to them.
In addition to that, imagine Christians putting on clothes that have the image of a naked woman, a demon, an alcoholic drink, cigarette, painted lips, people having sex, man dressed with a chain on his neck, and so on.
Also imagine Christians putting on clothes that have inscriptions like: "I NEED FREE SEX,” "Gulder: Beer of champions,” “There Is No Hell,” “Nobody Can Be Holy,” “Corruption is not a crime until you’re caught,” “Money is number one in life,” and so on!
The Bible warns us, “Avoid every kind of evil” (1 Thes 5:22, NIV).

5. WORLDLY CLOTHES

Some clothes are worldly by nature. There have been revelations that Christians should avoid wearing lace and jeans. At first, I was skeptical to some extent.

SECTION A
Introduction
Some years ago, I met Tosin and later on, we began our courtship and then got married.
One of the issues bothering her in those days was if using attachment or weave-on would take her to hell as her pastor had taught her.
But I quickly convinced her that it wouldn’t take her to hell. And I tried to assure her that if it would take her to hell, then we would go to the hell together! How foolish I was!
So she took to my unscriptural advice for years.

THEN THE TRUE LIGHT CAME
“The entrance of your word brings light and understanding to the simple” (Ps. 119:130, paraphrased).
When I came across the life testimonies of Kingsley Ubani(Nigeria), Linda Ngaujah (Sierra Leone), Margaret Amure (Nigeria), Samuel Tega(Nigeria), Olga (Russia), Claire Andoun (Cameroon), Michael Thomas Sambo (Nigeria) and so on as well as searching the Bible afresh and using Greek and Hebrew Dictionaries of the Bible, some issues were forever settled in my heart.
I have removed and disposed of my wedding ring.
My wife also has changed. No more jewellery, attachments, make-up and relaxer.
I want to show you that jewellery, body design, wrong clothing and wrong hair style can take one to hell!
WARNING!
If you buy, sell, use or encourage others to use jewellery, design their body, wear wrong clothes, have ungodly hair style, and so on you are on your way to hell.
The Bible warns: “Though they are fully aware of God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do themselves but approve and applaud others who practice them”(Rom 1:32, AMP).

FIRST THINGS FIRST
First, you need to be born-again if you are not yet saved. To be born-again does not mean going to church, reading the Bible, praying always, paying tithes and offerings, undergoing water baptism, avoiding sexual sin, alcohol, smoking, stealing, murder, cheating, and so on.
According to Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
So to be born-again, you must believe that Jesus rose from the dead and confess Him as your Lord! That’s all.
Second, you need holiness within your heart. No evil thoughts. No pride. No envy. No greed or covetousness. No lust. No hatred. No unforgiveness.
Jesus said, “Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse FIRST that which is within the cup and platter that the OUTSIDE of them may be clean also” (Matt 23:26)
To cleanse first what is within the cup and platter (dish) speaks of making inward holiness your first priority.
Third, you need holiness in your body. That means outward holiness of your mouth, hands, legs, ears, sex organs, eyes, and so on.
This calls for no gossip. No slander. No stealing. No lies. No cheating. No killing. No abortion. No sexual sin. No fighting. No alcohol. No smoking. No wrong clothes. No jewellery. No body design. No wrong hair style.
Paul warned, “Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can DEFILE OUR BODY OR SPIRIT. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God” (2 Cor 7:1, NLT). [See also 1 Thess 5:23.]

BODY DESIGN
The following forms of body design can take you to hell:
1. Bleaching
Jer 13:23(NLT) says, “Can an Ethiopian [black person] change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots? .....”
In terms of race, if God has made you a black person, then remain black. Be satisfied with your skin colour: white, black, yellow, brown or red!
When considering complexion, if you are naturally fair, dark or chocolatey, then don’t seek to change it; rather maintain it carefully.
Just be natural, sweet, neat, decent, presentable, radiant and HOLY!
To make heaven, avoid soaps, creams and anything that bleach the skin.

Reasons Why People Bleach or Tone
i. Wrong definition of beauty.
ii. Bad influence from others.
So you want to be like Michael Jackson? But do you know where he is now?
iii. Lack of contentment or satisfaction
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 77% of Nigerian women (the world's highest percentage), 59% of Togolese women, 35% of South African women, 27% of Senegalese women and 25% of Mali women bleach.
Do you know that the government of Ivory Coast has already banned bleaching creams in that nation?
iv. Inferiority complex (rooted in identity crisis)
v. Self-hatred (rooted in slavery, colonialism or apartheid)
vi. Seeking someone to marry you for artificial or false beauty.
There are three major types of beauty, namely: spiritual beauty, soulical beauty and bodily beauty. [1Thess 5:23 talks about the three dimensions of man.]
Each of these types of beauty, in turn, can be:
1. beauty from God (God-given or godly beauty)
2. beauty from man (artificial, unnatural or man-made beauty).
3. beauty from Satan (Satanic or demonic beauty).
Bodily Beauty
Every female on earth is beautiful and every male is handsome (Genesis 1:27, 31).
But some are more handsome or beautiful than the others.
Writing about natural bodily beauty, Solomon pointed out in Proverbs 31:30, "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."
This bodily beauty concentrates on the human face (Prov 6:25). But it's actually more than facial beauty.
So if natural bodily beauty is vain, then artificial beauty is double vain! Vanity upon vanity, all is still vanity because bodily beauty all ends in this world (Eccl 12:8, 13-14)!
Soulical Beauty
This is the beauty of the human soul consisting of mind, emotions and will.
Spiritual Beauty
This is the beauty of the human spirit. And your spirit is eternal!
This is the greatest and most important kind of beauty anyone can have because it will be relevant throughout all eternity!
1 Peter 3:3-5 (NIV) says, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
4. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
5. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves BEAUTIFUL. They were submissive to their own husbands."

vii. Seeking a false sense of confidence and happiness.

viii. Wrong prescription by some so-called "experts."
ix. Ignorance.
x. Lack of fear of God.
xi. Demonic insurgency or obsession (to take people to hell).
Dangers of Bleaching
i. Risk of liver cancer, kidney cancer, skin cancer, blood cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, brain damage, leukemia, ochronosis, sun burn, eczema, rashes, and so on due to the likely high presence of hydroquinine, mercury and cortisone.
Professor Lester M. Davids of the University of Cape Town, South Africa and others have revealed these health problems associated with bleaching.
ii. Bleaching can damage natural skin protective (malenin) to the extent that stitching in surgery becomes difficult or even impossible, which may lead to death.
My wife told me the story of a woman who died because her skin could not be stitched during surgery due to bleaching.
iii. Poor or no recovery from injuries or wounds.
iv. It will take one to hell.
Solution to Bleaching
In Psalm 139:13-14, David revealed: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Genesis 1:27, 31 reads: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
31. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day."
2. MAKING UP
God warned, "…Tell her to remove the PROSTITUTE’S MAKEUP FROM HER FACE…” (Hosea 2:2, NLT).
Peter wrote, “With EYES FULL OF ADULTERY, THEY NEVER STOP SINNING; THEY SEDUCE THE UNSTABLE…” (2 Pet 2:14, NIV).
The make-up kit comprising lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and so on was designed by Satan to take people to hell.
The Bible calls it the prostitute’s make-up because it’s used by prostitutes to seduce people sexually.
2 Kings 9:30 (NIV) says, "Then Jehu went to Jezreel. When Jezebel heard about it, she put on eye makeup, arranged her hair and looked out of a window."
All those who use make-up have the spirit of Jezebel (see Revelation 2:20-23, too)!
To make heaven, you must obey this command in Hosea 2:2, even though, it was proverbial and remove the prostitute’s make-up from your face immediately!
There are 2 types of Churches today, namely:
i. the Prostitute Church (that allows anything and everything to go on unchecked).
They are not preparing for the rapture.
ii. the Remnant or Glorious Church (that fears the Lord Jesus and submit to his Lordship in all things) [see Eph 5:25-27].
They are preparing for the rapture of the saints.
Only the Remnant or Glorious Church will be saved, while the Prostitute Church will roast in hell!
The warning in Romans 9:27 (NIV) drives the truth home, 'Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved." '
This message you are reading now is not for everybody, but for those that will be part of the Remnant or Glorious Church (Matt 19:10-12)!
Who is on the Lord's side? And who is on pastor's or bishop's side? Choose whom to follow today: the Lord Jesus or your bishop/pastor/general overseer?
3. ARTIFICIAL EYE LASHES
Artificial or false eye lashes are used by women who are dissatisfied with the natural ones God has given them.
So whenever they flutter their eye lashes, they look sexually attractive to men.
“But godliness with contentment is a great gain” (1Tim. 6:6).
4. ARTIFICIAL NAILS
When men and women prefer artificial nails that look like the claws of a lion to their made-in-heaven natural nails, then the last days are here.
God made man in His own image and after His own likeness, but sadly, man today is remaking himself in the image of animals and after the likeness of demons!
Paul warned, “Abstain from all appearance of evil” (1Thess. 5:22).
5. PAINTED NAILS
Why must you paint your fingernails or toe nails? Why can’t you just be natural? Do you think your Creator did not do a perfect work?
Are you a prostitute who must draw the attention of men to her body by any available means?
Take the warning: “Avoid every kind of evil” (1Thess. 5:2, NIV).
6. TATTOO
God admonished, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and DO NOT MARK YOUR SKIN WITH TATTOOS. I am the LORD” (Lev. 19:28, NLT).
Someone might say that was under the law and that we are now under grace.
Thank God for grace! But then, I have 4 questions for you.
First, why did Paul quote the Law in 1Tim. 5:18, “Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain” (Deut. 25:4)?
Second, why did Jesus approve of tithes in Matthew 23:23, which though came optionally before the Law but was to be obeyed compulsorily under the Law and which we still follow today (Hebrews 7:1-10)?
Third, why did Paul quote Exo. 22:28 from the Law in Acts 23:5 saying, “…for it is written: Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people”?
Fourth, why did Jesus say, “Do not think that I have come to abolish [end or destroy] the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them” (Matt. 5:17, NIV)?
Friend, some things are still relevant in the Law today till Christ will come!

7. COSMETIC SURGERY
This involves using medical operation to beautify yourself, to change your sex, to alter your skin colour, to change the size of your breasts, and so on.
I remember a transsexual on campus in those days who would dress like a lady. He would even create false breasts for himself. I was told he used the female public toilet.
Eventually, he left Nigeria for abroad where he underwent surgery to become a lady. I saw his photograph and I was surprised!
Everything that God made was good (Gen. 31:1). So, don’t tempt your Maker.
“Stay away from every kind of evil” (1Thess. 5:22, NLT).

TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCES
Bro. Thomas Sambo saw a sister lost forever in hell who said, “…My pastor told me that wearing trousers, as a lady was not a sin against God. He also said perming or jerry curling my hair, bleaching my skin, using lipsticks, plaiting my hair with attachments were never sins against God. The Lord plainly told her, “…. I’m only pleased with the natural look of my saints…she doesn’t need make-up to look beautiful to anyone….those things don’t please Me…He who loves the world is an enemy of God.”
Sis. Linda from Sierra Leone was living like a prostitute when she died and was thrown into hell where she saw her mother and brother. After a short time, the Lord’s mercy brought her out and she eventually received these warnings from Jesus: “Any bishop or wife… any Pastor’s wife who’s putting on these (weave-on /attachments/ artificial hair); any prophetess – even if she prophesies to thousands of people - …putting on these things (weave-on/ attachments/artificial hair)…will not see my face."
“Any woman, in and out of the church, putting on trousers, putting on eyelashes, putting on (artificial hair), earrings, gold teeth, tattoos, false fingernails, bleaching the skin, (using) bleaching cream…. tinting the hair perming the hair, stretching the hair…will not see God’s face (paraphrased).
