Please treat as urgent !!!

I have been offered a one year COS for a care job. I will like to know if there is anything like one year tier2 visa. My fear comes from the fact that every COS I’ve been told about is either 3 or 5years.

Can I use it the one year COS for my visa application.

Please help me!

There is actually one year tier 2 visa. My fear about having a one year COS is that with the current reality on ground as per unstable immigration policy, care jobs might be taken off the shortage list. If that happens, will your visa be renewed after one year when it's no more on shortage list? Think about the stress of renewing after every other year even if it's not taken off. If you have the opportunity if getting a 5 year or 3 year COS, that's better and reassuring even if care jobs are not more on shortage list.

Nairaland opened my consciousness to life overseas, now I'm out of naija with my family and not only that, I've processed more than five different visas in different countries for people without using agents. Only from contributions of members. Awkward but yeah...nairaland is my default search engine.

If it is your Candidate this massive crowd tropped out to see will your reaction be the same?

I wish I have one and even if I do have one, it won't change the fact that people collect money and gifts to attend rallies.

1k for individuals in this rally not possible,no be so dey dash money o....

Do you think it's easy for people to just leave their houses and whatever they are doing to come and see someone speak for an hour? What you are seeing is what they call structure, they organise in groups and the structural heads do the sorting from wards to local governments.

Politicians using poverty as a tool for their own selfish interest. A whole lot of these guys earn less than $1 in a day and so are happy to troop out to get N1000 withing few hours, a face cap and possibly a cup of rice. I hope in the end, a miracle will happen.

What a proud kingmaker you would have been if you allowed Osinbajo to run the race. Even your enemies would be at peace with you. Now, it's a town hall...

I was just wondering what kind of frustration I am likely to encounter applying through France. Planning a family visit for September but I'm beginning to have a rethink based on your post. Thanks

justwise:

Try Portugal,, you are likely to get appointment quicker, Spanish or French embassy will frustrate you

You will need to get travel insurance, letter from your school, hotel booking confirmation and bank statement though i'm not sure if you need 3months or more bank statement

Just curious, did you do some brush-up classes to do away with the naija style of driving or you just registered for a practical test straightaway?

Altogether I did about 10 hours of practice, should not have been up to that but they kept postponing my test date. I wouldn't advise going for a test straightaway, it is important to learn the principles of driving in the UK from the tutors. It costs a lot but I have no regrets at all and passed the first time.

From what have read the normal naija licence qualifies has international and if that's presented you get your insurance etc.

Thinking about it haven't heard anyone being asked to present either for insurance or sth else. So it could just be one of those grey areas

I agree with you, normal Nigerian licence allows you to drive for a year. I was asked to drop a photocopy of my licence at my former place of work so as to be able to drive the company cars, they said they needed to send it to their insurance company so as to verify it, it came back a week later and was told I could drive but for a limited time. The date they gave me to stop driving until I was able to get the UK licence was about one year after I got to the UK. Unfortunately I had to stop driving my car and company cars when they kept postponing my driving test but all that is now history.
