Nigerian Gospel Singer, Prince Gozie Okeke has taken to his Instagram account to share his testimony of how he came back to life after he was plunged into coma because of his heart problem.

Sharing photos of him on the sick bed, he wrote;

Glorify the name of the Lord with me for saving my life from heart problem. Been in COMA for days and my Faithfull God gave me back a new life. Glory be to his holy name Amen.

Okeke hasn’t stopped being grateful to God ever since his recovery .

It’s often shocking when an actor, who has enjoyed years of stardom, comes out to say he is broke.

Some actors either fade out of the limelight because the roles were no longer coming in, walk away from Nollywood on their own terms because the pay was no longer satisfactory, or even die because they couldn’t afford their medical bills.

Femi Ogedengbe, who was once a ‘successful’ actor in the Yoruba movie industry, recently revealed that he currently makes more money as a security guard in the US than he did as an actor in Nigeria.

Stanley Aguzie, who landed a role in Vikings after he moved to Ireland, told Tribune Online that a lot of his popular friends are broke and miserable.

Saidi Balogun told Encomium Magazine that this is because Nollywood is no longer what it used to be and most actors can no longer charge professionally.
“We just settle for whatever the producers are ready to offer,” he said.

If fans were to judge some Nollywood actors by their popularity or quantity of films, they would be billionaires. But that isn’t the case.

Here are five popular actors who have come out to tell the world about their financial status:
1. ERNEST ASUZU

In 2015, Daily Independent reported that Asuzu was seen begging at Shoprite in Surulere Lagos.

The actor, who was still recovering from a stroke at the time was limping while he begged for money to eat.

In 2016, the actor was gifted with a brand new jeep and cash to start afresh by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.

The prophet gave him a brand new jeep worth N3.5m, and 1.5 million naira to start up a new life.

In a 2017 interview with Linda Ikeji Blog, the actor said he was abandoned by the members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, who were aware of his situation.

Ernest Asuzu, until his ailment, was an active actor in Nollywood. He is popular for movies such as “Accidental Discharge,” “Royal Wedding,” “Chain Reaction” and “Dirty Game.”

2. BABA SALA

Veteran comedian and actor, Moses Olaiya, popularly known as Baba Sala, recently requested financial help from Nigerians for his health.

Sala, who is popular for movies such as “Orun Mooru,” “Aare Agbaye,” “Diamond” and “Ana” needed a lot of money for his medical treatment abroad.

His first son, Reverend Dele Adejumo, said that all business investments of the aged veteran have been ruined by circumstances and poor management.

“I need help. Nigerians should help me. I am not dead yet, they should not let me die suffering,” he said during a press conference.

3. DEJUMO LEWIS

In 2015, Veteran actor, Dejumo Lewis, who is known for his role as Kabiyesi in “The Village Headmaster” classic TV soap, said he was broke.

During an interview with Punch, the actor said that despite the ‘legend’ and ‘icon’ label, he was one of the poorest paid actors in Nollywood.

“I had to struggle to pay my rent and my staff. I must admit that right now, I am indebted to the management of the hotel that I am staying. I also owe two of my staff more than three months salary. They have been so loyal and committed to me,” he said in 2015.

Lewis has starred in critically acclaimed movies such as “Dazzling Mirage,” “October 1,” “When Love Happens” and “Invasion 1897.”

4. UCHE ODUPUTA

In 2007, Uche Oduputa was arrested for trafficking drugs and was jailed for two years and three weeks.
In an interview with Broadway TV, the actor revealed that his financial situation led him into trafficking.

According to him, he thought it would change his condition since he wasn’t getting any substantial movie roles at the time and couldn’t afford to feed or house his family.

Since his release from jail, the actor has featured in successful productions such as “Husbands of Lagos,” “Last Flight to Abuja,” among others.

5. TAJUDEEN OYEWOLE (Abija)

Popularly known as Abija, the actor was a successful Yoruba actor until he was involved in an auto crash in 2007, while shooting the movie “Ibinu Abija.”
In a 2015 interview with The Nation, the actor said that his fame hadn’t translated into wealth.

“I am not rich; I don’t have a roof over my head, which is part of measuring one’s wealth in this part of the world; I don’t even have a land,” he told The Nation.
He added that the money realised from acting is just not much, or even as enough as their fans think.

A popular Kenyan musician identified as Sheldi Gorgeouz, has stunned his fans on social media after he took to his Facebook page on February 6, 2018, to reveal that he had bleached (whitened) his skin.

The controversial musician who launched his career back in 2011, stated that he had dug deep into his pockets to fund the procedure, adding that his bleaching should not be likened to that of popular socialite, Vera Sidika as he had to consult three top notch physicians.

He posted his new photos and wrote;
“I had to hire three physicians, one from China, the other one from London, and my main physician from New York City. They manufactured a special body cream just for me, and it’s my copyright. No one else uses the cream, unless with my permission and authority."

He stated that contrary to rumours, what he had done was not bleaching, it was brightening and that the cream he used was made exclusively for him.
“Yes, I did skin brightening. I spent 165 Million Kshs (Kenyan Shillings) it’s a lot of money but I achieved what I wanted. My skin brightening process took place in the United States, but I thank God it was successful,” the musician wrote.

A twenty-five-year-old man, Alex Babalola, has been arrested with a human head by the men of the Police Command in Asese, Magboro area of Ogun State, Nigerian Tribune has reported.

The suspect, an indigene of Ondo State, was arrested by the operatives of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS), on Thursday afternoon.

He (Babalola) was arrested following a tip-off by a member of the public who saw the suspect and his partner, now at large inside a bush with a human head.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the FSARS operatives swung into action based on the information and discovered human head in a sack carried by Babalola.

The suspect was reported to have confessed to the crime, saying the human head was meant for money ritual.

The head of the community, Chief Kasumu Sonola, was said to have commended the FSARS team for their quick response and routine patrol of the area.
He urged them to intensify the patrol in order to rid the area of criminals.

A man of God has ordered his congregation members not to call him their spiritual father anymore if they fail to pay him tithe.
A Zambian pastor has shocked his congregation members after ordering them to stop calling him their spiritual father if they cannot pay him tithe.

According to Zambian Watch, Prophet Bernard Siame who is mostly known as ‘Commander 1’ urged all those who regard him as their spiritual father and yet don’t give him their tithes not to enter 2018 with that sort of behavior.

This comes as awareness on social media deepens urging churchgoers to desist from paying men of God tithe. The campaign championed by Nigerian OAP DaddyFreeze has left many pastors embarrassed as they have been unable to prove from the bible why members of their churches are subjected to compulsory payment of tithe every month.

In a Facebook posting, Prophet Siame who is the leader of Shammah Miracle Embassy and also the spiritual son of the controversial Prophet Andrew ‘Seer 1’ Ejimandu wrote: ‘That behavior of calling me your spiritual father without your tithe must remain in 2017.
“So, to respond to those people asking that ‘so, we can’t be your (spiritual) children, just because we are not paying tithe,’ I think every person must learn the principle of getting a blessing.

Blessings do not come by prayer and fasting. If that was the case, believe me, many people today wouldn’t be coming to church. They would be going to the mountain to pray and fast so that as they come back, they would return with ukwa bags full of money. When it comes to the principle of receiving finances, a person must be a giver. And one of the tools through this happens is the tithe…the 10 percent of your income,” he explained.

Prophet Siame added that the same rule applies to clergymen who looked up to other clerics as their spiritual fathers. He said returning tithe to spiritual fathers was a way of showing one’s loyalty and obedience.

“You can’t have children who are not obedient to you. Every child must be obedient to their fathers or mothers. For example, tomorrow I open another church and I put one of my sons or daughters there to pastor the church and they themselves are not givers. What you do attracts the same thing that you do to others. If you can’t give, God will never allow people to give to you,” he said.

Prophet Siame added: “So, a son of the prophet or Bishop, it cannot be me, it can be another person but its very important for them to lead by example. If people can’t see you give, they are not going to give to you. If for example, you are not showing love to others, are they going to show love to you? Definitely no! What you plant is what you reap.”

He also revealed that he too returns tithe to his spiritual father.
“And those people asking that ‘what about you prophet, do you give tithe?’ I am a dangerous giver. I even have some men of God who are not from my church and I pay the house rentals for them every month. But they are not my church members. We have made a covenant with them to support them. It’s part of giving tithe,” he said.

"The lady counted herself fortunate when she came across the London based handsome dude about a month ago on social media platform called Tagged. They video chatted for hours and exchanged calls. He was an only son whose mother was in Nigeria. He desired to marry soon and settle down.

In no time they were really into each other. He was young and dashing and has a good job in London. He planned to come home this December for introduction to her family. Her joy was boundless.

Then about two weeks ago, she chatted with him all day on his UK line +447417592902. Then early the next morning a Nigerian number called her severally and she refused to pick only for the UK line to send a message that she should pick the call, he was the one. So she picked, totally confused.

He announced that he got a message that his mother was admitted at the Canal Hospital, Apapa and he had to take the next flight home to see her. He invited her to hang out. They met at Ogudu Road, Ojota near Perisonal Opposite Lavida. From there he took her to his friend's place at 49 Adeyemi Akapo Street, Ikeja and ravished her throughout the night.

Ordinary bar of chocolate he didn't bring for her from London. All along she knew him as Richard Olaniyi Omotosho. But his Nigerian number exposed him on IMO as Moyosore Adetomiwa and also showed her his wedding pictures which look quite recent. A few quick calls revealed the guy had never gone to even Cotonou not to talk of London. It was then she knew she had been body scammed!

Now she is unconsolable and is devastated at how wicked some men can be, denying their families and putting on an act just to ravish innocent women. She said i should warn all ladies out there to be careful as not all that glitters are gold.

Sharing his thought on Instagram, Nigerian man Wale Jana, told fellow men to leave their wives’ money because no woman prayed for a man she will be splitting bills with.
