Family / Notable Similarities Between Nigerian Homes. Part 2. by NGVolume: 4:31pm On Sep 07, 2022
Here is part one in case you missed it: https://www.nairaland.com/7287635/notable-similarities-nigerian-homes
Nigerian homes share many similarities so numerous to mention but among the long list, NGVolume presents to you the most prominent of them. Most Nigerian homes share them in common. Most Nigerian homes in this situation refer to more than ninety percent of the population, let’s dive right into it.

1. iPhone attraction: This is a top similarity between Nigerian homes. At least one member of a Nigerian home sees owning an iPhone as an item on their desire list. Nigerians who climb up the financial ladder get an iPhone since it has always been on their desire list. Apple products in general are the favourite fantasy of at least one member of Nigerian homes.

2. Meat eaters: Nigerians love meat almost as much as the way Nigerian men love football, if not more. The love of meat can be seen in Nigerian parties in which meat is considered the traditional assortment of meals. There’s a variety of meat that Nigerian homes like but the keyword is meat. The vegetarian lifestyle is far from catching up with the Nigerian home.

3. Music love: At least one member of Nigerian homes likes to vibe to music, and many genres of music sufficiently meet this need. Whether during transit, events, hanging with friends or at home, Nigerians love to listen to music. In a Nigerian home, you can go through the phones of every member and bet on finding a reasonable amount of music tracks on at least one device.

4. Cinema experience: it’s not uncommon to find a member of the Nigerian home who is yet to have a cinema experience. Commonly, Nigerians who have been to the cinemas have that first experience in their twenties. The moviegoer's population is on the rise but is far from being equal to the population of Nigerians who have had a cinema experience.

Family / Notable Similarities Between Nigerian Homes. by NGVolume: 12:46pm On Aug 18, 2022
Nigerian homes share a large number of similarities. To avoid confusion, when I say Nigerian home, I am referring to more than 90 percent of the population, not the few one percent. Let’s dive right into it and highlight some notable similarities between Nigerian homes!

1. At least one member is on social media: That’s true, you can hardly find a Nigerian home without any member on social media. In fact, that’s a good bet to take because you will most certainly win it any time of the day. Regardless of the phones possed, members of Nigerian homes have at least one social media account. It’s no surprise that even members with phones that are commonly referred to as touch light phones have social media accounts.

2. Most commute via public transportation: At least one member of a Nigerian home uses public transportation as their primary mode of transportation. In many cases, the number is higher than one member.

3. At least one graduate of higher education: Nigerian homes have at least one member who is a graduate of higher education institution, it may be a university, polythetic or others but what remains constant is that at least there’s one graduate of higher education in Nigerian homes.

4. Dreams of life abroad: At least one member of every Nigerian home dreams of either visiting or relocating abroad permanently. The number is even on the higher side when it comes to those who are yet to go for a master’s degree. They see a master’s degree from abroad as a golden opportunity.

Education / Jambites, Know These Before You Resume Higher Education In Nigeria. by NGVolume: 12:45pm On May 23, 2022
As a 100 level student, it is true that you will be the JJC of the school but noting everything below will help you survive. This post is written by someone who was been in your shoes and is willing to help you navigate and understand your new environment. Let’s get straight into it.

1. School Hostel: If you are staying in the school hostel, private or public institution, know that bulbs in public places will always go missing. Toilet/bathroom bulbs, passage bulbs, etc. These bulbs will go missing, one minute they are there, the next minute they are gone and no one would know who took them. Go to your high institution with your touch light or lamp.
2. Do sports: If you are physically fit, engage in sports. Football, Basketball, etc, anything that can keep you fit should be engaged in.
3. Enjoy yourself: School life is school life, if you are broke in school, it is not the end of life. Enjoy every moment you have in school without focusing on the bad side.
4. Rechargeable fan: If you can afford it, take a rechargeable fan to school. The heat when there is no light can make you take multiple baths in a day. It’s not a must, but if you can get a rechargeable fan.
5. Respect lecturers: Be humble to lecturers. Don’t try to prove a point, it can backfire. Go to classes when possible, and sign attendance. Don’t cause trouble that can get you on a lecture bad list.

Add yours!
