gestapo: gestapo. Thanks for your courtesy. I thought the answer to your question was trivial but I'll be glad to give you my opinion on it. Most customers interested in pre-order cars, expect to be given expected ETA (estimated time of arrival) on the vehicle(s). With the conjestion, many ships were docked on high seas for weeks and even more than a month in some cases, because they have nowhere to berth. In order to avoid promising customers a delivery date that is unattainable, some dealers have simply shipped their vehicles and are waiting until they have a pretty good idea of ETA before advertizing. Others have advertized and promised to deliver in a certain time period without any cartainty of ETA. Each dealers decides what is best for him/herself and his customers - at the end of the day. This is my take on that. Cheers, J |

jenju: Gestapo, I warned you Serves you right By the way in case you don't know what trivial means here you go; having little value or commonplace or lacking any qualities that are unique or interesting or lacking in seriousness or importance. Please give your baby a kiss for me Don't worry we work child-friendly hours, even though some of our mission takes us away from home for months We also have a team of flunkies on hand to take care of our needs, and we offer generous holidays and renumeration packages too, your husband would be glad to have you out of the house, I bet |

BB I was soooooooooooooooo elated seeing your yes Now we'll work out modalities for your immediate conversion and swapping of roles with Igwe But first things first, we need to cage him get him under control and then Bingo!!! you are on your way to a short trip to Cloud 9 You need to seduce him and then defray him of his sense Just something nice; a la Abacha ou Samson et Delilah. . . Then come over to the Govt house for further briefings. . . .and you had better not turn down the dusk to dawn vigil in my Bedroom It will a whole lot of good to your women empowerment campaign. I have already arranged for the Surg that will do the trans-mutation. Pls be sure Igwe DOES NOT escape. . . . i just saw him escaping the thru the Autos window. . . If he does escape, i will be forced to engage the services of the other musketeers. Pls do this as soon as possible. My SS BG's are watching you. . . . .if you need anything just a beep will do I await further results. . . . Igwe is in trouble. . . Jenju, Thank you very much brother. . . .But one i don't know is if you deal in Salvage Autos? Most of your cars doesn't reveal as such. I love to say that sincerity while being creative has done most of the job for us We are striving to survive. Even with the hard times I can't imagine putting up a 2006 Toyota Camry up for sale at 1.9M. Even if its accidented Or a 2008 Camry for N3M. but somehow, the Chicken will surely come to roost. |
Re: Ridiculous Car Prices by jenju(m): 9:07pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
Emperoh: Da'alu o. I'm with you on the bolded statement above, particularly with the exchange rate at over N150 to buy $1. N1.9 cannot be an effective price model for a 2006 Camry unless one is selling at cost. I, like you, am an unrepentant capitalist and will not price a 2006 Camry at that price unless I am running a promotion or have an order for multiple vehicles. Now an 08 Camry without leather would work for N3.1 when the exchange rate was $119 with a small profit margin. I offered an 08 Camry for that amount not too long ago and because of the low price, the advertizement actually generated 3 aditional requests for other vehicles - this is the kind of creativity I alluded to earlier. I don't mind sharing the idea at all, the market is huge with enough for every entrepreneur. Creativity is not incompartible with honesty and good integrity. As far as the salvage vehicles are concerned. I simply do not deal in them. Salvage cars must first be repaired and made road worthy before sale. If repairs are done in Nigeria, one can gain substantial cost savings, hence obtain a higher profit margin. I stay away from salvage vehicles because of their time consuming aspect - I simply don't have the time to do the leg work. I have nothing against them at all, as long as one makes adequate repairs and informs potential buyer of car's status, apriori. Once again, I express my appreciation for a refreshing and mature conversation. Cheers, J |

Re: Ridiculous Car Prices by earTHMama: 10:01pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
you should have learnt not to believe everything you read on the internet But he had no reason to lie about his profit. It will only take a kaduna resident to come here and disprove his story. If they can sell an end of discussion for that amount in kaduna, it's worth a try. |

Money laundering |
Re: Ridiculous Car Prices by inspiredm(m): 10:32pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
A very valid point but that should be for moving money out for Naija Emperoh, Auto Business is an Essential Tool for Money laundering in Nigeria, Money Laundering is into 2 categories, Money laundered Out Of Nigeria & Money Laundered In to Nigeria, while Most Corrupt Governemt Officials are are Guilty of the "Out of Nigeria" Money laundering Process, Drug Traffickers, Barons, Criminals that are Nigerians in Diaspora are usually responsible for the In to Nigeria Money Laundering, I will explain later. |
Re: Ridiculous Car Prices by Emperoh(m): 10:44pm On Feb 06, 2009 |
inspired_m: Am still awaiting your comment on the Money Laundering aspect, i can't wait to school me on this pse.Do so asap. I need to discuss some deal with you. Will call you up when its matured. J You can be rest assured of a mature discussion. I love to hear how others do it, even though it will amount to exposing ones strategy. I once thought of putting a laptop as a give away if one buys any of my cars. Not factoring in the cost of the laptop. I was just ready to give away a cut of my profit just to sell the car. I am presently targetting the hugely unserviced parts of the East where i grew up in. But then a problem comes up. Most who are interested are looking for cheap banned car. The only option is Cotonou and i dread that over the border deal unless i pay duty. Yet they won't step up their budget on that. But all in all things are a bit slow. But i believe they will pick up. The greatest entrepreneur is one who surmounts his difficulties and creates a way for himself nay without the use of fraud. Looking forward to seeing your latest buys. |

[b]Money Laundering is the Act of making Money that comes from Source A look like it comes from Source B. In Practice, Criminals are trying to Disguise the Origins of Money obtained through illegal activities so it looks like it was Obtained from Legal or Legitimate sources. Otherwise, They can't use the Money because it would Connect them to the Criminal activity, and Law-enforcement Officials would seize it. Drug Traffickers needs Money Laundering because they deal almost Exclusively in cash, which causes all sorts of Logistics problems. Not only does cash draw the attention of law-enforcement officials ( EFCC, FBI & Co ), it is also quite Heavy to carry without not Raising Suspicions You're required to report Cash that you carry into or out of the USA & Nigeria to the Appropriate Authorities at the Airport Example is a person is making thousands of dollars in small change a week from a business and wants to deposit that money in a bank, it cannot be done without possibly drawing suspicion. In the United States & Nigeria, for example, cash transactions and deposits of more than $10,000 or excess are required to be reported as "significant cash transactions" to the EFCC, NDLEA, ICPC and Other Intelligence Agencies, along with any other suspicious financial activity which is identified as "suspicious activity reports." A Nigerian Drug Traficker in Philadelphia or Dallas has just hit $200,000 from a Deal, he needs to move the Cash back to Nigeria, its a Dirty Money Acquired through an Illegitimate means, the Goal is to keep it from coming to the attention of someone else who might feel like they have some claim to the money or Financial Intelligence Agents in the USA & in Nigeria, the point is to make the money disappear in form of Physical Cash As Soon as Possible WHERE THE AUTO BUSINESS COMES IN He Typically uses the Funds to Purchase Cars & SUVs in the USA and Ships it to Nigeria, All He Needs are the Funds, He can Afford to Sell at Landing Cost or Lower to make back his Liquid Cash, Hence Ridiculously Low Prices attached to Luxury Rides, He Sells them, Makes back the Money Invested from the Dirty Deal, Pays the Money into an Account as Proceeds from his Auto Business and the process Goes back Recycled Without Suspicion to the Dirty source Of income, Another Advantage to this Kind of Crime is that these Crooks can aslo front in Nigeria as being Car Dealers, majority of them Front as being Car dealers because Physically they trade in the "Buying & Selling"of Automobiles Business to front as their legitimate Source Of Income for Anit Graft Agencies. I Call it Instant Disappear - Re Appear Cycles. This basically is what Most Nigerian Criminals that claim Car Dealerships in the USA do, They dont Provide Showroom Location Addresses, Website Addresses, Phone Numbers, Dealership card Numbers et al traceable on the YELLOW PAGES rather they Provide Only Email addresses Which can't be traceable to them. They Launder The Money Back to Nigeria through Transacting on Automobiles, Selling at Ludicrously Low Prices just to Recycle the Money Back into the System. The Prices of Cars On This Forum are Not Really Ridiculously Low I tell you, On the Contrary There are just some Greedy Dealer(s) that have Piled up their Debt Ridden Mortgaged Life And Family Financial Obligations on the Sale of his/their Cars that you sometimes wonder With their Multi-Storey Prices, if they have Any Conscience Left in them The Auto Prices on this Forum are Generally Fair and Consistent. Money Laundering is an Essential Tool Being Used to launder Money through the Auto Business Into Nigeria and I would narrowly Rule Out as at this time the exisitence of a Money Launderer in Our Midst While Further Observations & Investigations is/are Ongoing. My thoughts as well. How can somebody be selling a 2006 VW passat for 1.4M in Nigeria?. Can you even buy a salvaged one for $10K in the US?. Check some car prices they advertise here and be the judge. As a matter of fact, If I wan buy motor for naija, I'd rather not buy it from here because it'll be cheaper to purchase it in Nigeria. Another nairalander also advertised a 2004 passat for N900K both cost and shipment. N900K is about $6K. How possible will he get the car for $4k and another nairalander was asking him whether the 900K includes clearing? Na greed dey kill people. |

earTHMama: Its a Two - Way Greed In this Case My Dear, From Buyers & Seller(s) and I wish to Reiterate that the Extremely Ridiculously Low Prices on this forum are most likely to be well-nigh- scams while The Extremely High Prices from Some Seller(s) are nothing BUT Stratetically Calculated SmokeScreen Extortions, The Reason being because an Average Nigerian is ''Wet behind the Ears''. |
