Politics / Osun Council Boss, Wife In Multi-million Naira Fraud by niyodoloo(m): 7:48am On Feb 03, 2021
A source said the council boss has been telling people he is untouchable because of his closeness to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKJAN 27, 2021

Documents seen by SaharaReporters have shown how the Chairman of Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, Mufutau Adegbite, illegally diverted N50m from the council’s account for personal use.

Adegbite allegedly misappropriated the funds using his wife, Alimat, who is a treasury officer at the council.

SaharaReporters gathered that the N50 million was a loan obtained by the council boss from a new generation bank.
The funds were moved in tranches between December 24, 2018 and January 21, 2019.
A source said the council boss has been telling people he is untouchable because of his closeness to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Investigations also showed that Adegbite, without due process and against regulations, selectively awarded contracts or just merely invited whosoever he wanted and handed contracts out to them. In many of these cases, the contracts were awarded to family members.
“He is using his wife to siphon council's funds; the wife is a treasury officer at the council and also the First Lady. He (Adegbite) moved the council account to another bank after he was offered a N50 million loan.
“The governor is aiding the malfeasance by ignoring a series for petitions against him.”
Meanwhile a source at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission told SaharaReporters that Adegbite might be in deep trouble except he can explain many actions he took which bother on misappropriation of funds.
According to the source, the anti-graft agency has commenced investigation into the activities of the council boss.

Nairaland / General / We Die Here Is Now Real : Ologbenla Adedoyin by niyodoloo(m): 8:26am On Mar 26, 2020
" !" .

Our chickens and guinea fowls are coming home to roost.

Atiku's son is positive. He is in Gwagwalada hospital . He can't fly to Dubai.

The president is in town. There are no international conferences.

If he needs attention, he will have to use the state clinic.

That expression 'we die here' is now so real.

Once we become full of the virus, no one will allow any of us into their country.

If we have no test kits, then we stay here and dig graves and bury our dead.

If we have no ventilators, then we will use table fans. And die like that.

We die here. Abi?

If the Bishops and Imams refuse to listen, they will listen when the churches and mosques are filled with sorrow tears and coffins.

If NASS members wont submit themselves to tests at the airports , the chambers will become filled with Corona virus and become distinguished viral laboratories.

Nobody will be flown to London or Germany.

Those abroad will stay abroad.

Let everybody sit down somewhere.

I hear our girls in Italy have hunkered down.

There is a snake in the monkey's shadow.

I wish the virus could hold hostages and demand ransoms.

It could have helped us get our stolen wealth back.

For the first time in this country, if a minister falls and breaks his head, he will have to remain and be treated at home.

There is no test facility in the whole of the north and none in the east. Yet we have governors.

Yet we have thousands of Teaching Hospitals.

Look at Port Harcourt. Nothing!

UNTH and UCH can't test for Coronavirus. Tufiakwa!

But it's good. Better.

If it's die, we all die here! together.

Politics / Just In: Buhari Shocks Oshiomole, Endorse His Removal As APC National Chairman by niyodoloo(m): 5:57pm On Jan 15, 2020
President Buhari endorses Adams Oshiomhole’s removal as APC national chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has caved in to pressure and endorsed the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in order to arrest the lingering crisis in the ruling party.

A source who is familiar with the development, said the president gave the blessing for Oshiomhole’s ouster after some stakeholders in the party and some State Governors elected on the APC’s platform convincingly argued against the national chairman’s continued stay in office during a meeting with the president.

The source, who craved anonymity, told the online medium that the process to ease the embattled chairman out of office has started adding that if he refuses to resign he would be forced out “using the machinery of state.”

“Oshiomhole has been told that the President wants him to leave the post but he is going round grandstanding, lobbying people close to the president and even using members of his family to beg with the hope that the president can be convinced to change his mind. He’s done. His time is up,” the source said.

The source who asked to remain anonymous said Buhari had until recently stood firmly by Oshiomhole, who has been at loggerheads with key stakeholders and did not heed the president’s admonition to resolve the crisis within the party. His critics say he is too highhanded, proud and lacks the capacity to manage a political party as diverse as the APC.

The crisis in the party Tuesday took a new twist as a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party was marred by shouting and quarrels over the announcement of Arch. Waziri Bulama as the new National Secretary by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

National Vice Chairman North East, Comrade Salihu Mustapha, the zone where the office of National Secretary was zoned to, accused Oshiomhole of highhandedness and not following the party’s constitution on the matter.

After storming out of the meeting, Mustapha, told reporters that Oshiomhole was not qualified to preside over the NWC meeting because a court had approved his suspension by the chapter of the party in his home state, Edo State, where he is in a bitter political fight with the Governor Godwin Obaseki and the state executive of the party.
Politics / Nigerians And The Curse Of Politics : Prince Adedoyin Ologbenla by niyodoloo(m): 3:00pm On Jan 15, 2020
Sometimes last year, I wrote about the brief turmoil my family went through in the hands of members of the Action Congress shortly after Aregbesola was declared Governor of Osun State in 2010. My family, headed by Dn. Noah Oderinu, a political appointee under Oyinlola, was one of the targets of the series of attacks that were carried out then because he belonged to the PDP.

Some of the people who heard or read the story and had been abreast of issues in the politics of Osun State pre-2010 opined that the attack on Members of the PDP was retaliatory, a payback for the years that they terrorized members of the AC. How the retaliation was supposed to target my father whom I have known to be a peaceful politician beats my imagination till date.

In all of the malady and rationalization, one thing did not make sense to me. While the attacks lasted, I saw people with whom we grew on the same streets of Ejigbo, carrying dangerous items and would have done us some real harm if we slacked. They did not mind throwing all the years we have lived together into the bin, they just wanted to assert their new political power.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

On the eve of the 2011 Senatorial election, myself, my older sibling, my dad and two of our relatives visited our little village in the hills - Agurodo.

As we approached the village square, flashlights showed up on either side of the vehicle, obviously from the vigilante team on guard for the night. I had no worries, for whoever these persons are, must at least be known to three persons in our vehicle.

I identified the first face I saw to be that of a relative, who is indeed a member of my extended family. I greeted him in a familiar tone - Boda Bisi, e kaale. His response was as shocking as it was hostile. He answered, "who are you" and I greeted him again, "Boda Bisi, e kaale."

Deacon answered from his seat in the rear, "Bisi, booni? (Bisi, how are you?) and the next answer was even more shocking. Boda Bisi answered, "ehn ehn, lat'ibo? E identify Ara yin" (ehn ehn, from where? Identify yourselves). Apparently, he was being hostile because Deacon belonged to the PDP and he belonged to the ACN.

Tired of the needless drama, Deacon retorted, "Bisi, emi ni ki n identify Ara mi ni Agurodo? Iru egbin wo l'eleyi na?" (Bisi, I should identify myself in Agurodo? What sort of insult is this?) Then the man started mouthing all sorts of insults towards a man who is conveniently older than him to the point of possibly fathering him if he had started earlier.

Of course he did not leave the scene without some memories that will linger in his heart for a long time, but this scuffle, between members of the same family, was absolutely needless. For what? Politics!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks to the Tribunal Judgement in the Adejare Bello vs. Bamidele Salam case, one of these young APC social media jingoists called me to seek a favor.

He is from my Local Government and was bidding for a project in one of the MDAs. He was calling because he needed my Oga's help at some point in the application. I simply told him, "Hon. Salam is as much your Rep as he is mine; if what you need is not illegal, he will do whatever he can do to help."

Some days after, the same man went on social media to say all kinds of unprintable things about the person of Hon. Salam. Why? He needed to show his loyalty to his party by denigrating Salam and drumming support for Bello.

Immediately after the judgment was delivered, he went full-scale insane, insulting Salam at every opportunity. He became this careless because in his thought, their party was on the way to snatching victory from Salam.

He denigrated a potential benefactor, just for politics!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, the Supreme Court sacked the Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha and handed victory to Hope Uzodimma, who had earlier came 4th in the Gubernatorial election of 2019 in the State.

A quick glance at several timelines and I have discovered, to my absolute shock, that instead of seeking to interpret the position of the Court and determining whether it portends good fortune for the sustenance of our rule of law, what young Nigerians are busy doing is counting scores.

I have seen comments like "Imo down, more to go"; "Congratulations to us in the APC"; "Democracy is in danger" among many other half-witted thoughts. When we should be finding out the precedences being laid in our legal system which will at some point affect each and everyone of us, we are busy counting scores!

Most interesting is the fact that young persons on whom the government in Imo State will have no direct or indirect impact, are also busy on social media clapping and dancing, for a judicial pronouncement they still don't understand and does not affect them beyond adding a State to a political party in which they are mere pawns.

I have also seen comments framed in such a manner that paints every person who sounds not excited about the news as apologists of the PDP. Since when did critical thinking on issues of such magnitude become a problem? Or does political bragging rights withdraw the rights of other citizens to ask questions?

-------------------------------------------------------------

How we got under it I do not know, but Nigerians are sure suffering from a curse tied to politics.

This curse will make them insult, main and even kill their own kinsmen just to perpetuate their party in power. This curse will make them dance over numerical advantage for their party, not caring for a minute, if such advantage portends danger for the country in future. This curse has made us play politics like gerbils fighting to the death.

Who swore for us?

Culture / Wasiu Ayinde Is Mayegun Of Oyo Not Yorùbá Land : Prince Adedoyin Ologbenla by niyodoloo(m): 10:32am On Jan 14, 2020
A Prince of the source from Giesi Ruling House of Ife, Prince Adedoyin Derin-Ologbenla has made his stand known on the recent installation of Wasiu Ayinde as Mayegun of Yoruba Land, he said "Our culture cannot be toy with, we all know the right from wrong."

Wasiu Ayinde was recently installed as Mayegun of Yorubaland by His Majesty Ọba Lamido Adeyemi Àlàáfíà of Oyo, Yes I don't have any issue with Kwam1 nor Kaabiesi himself. But when it comes to royal titles, such titles is/ are bound on the town or village where they are installed.

All Mayeguns should be Mayeguns of the town that gave them the chieftaincy title and no by any means extend it to yoruba land. Mayegun of Oyo should be For Oyo, Mayegun of ife should be for IFE. Yoruba land doesn't have a general imperial majesty as every towns and villages have their own kings who can give anyone the title of Mayegun.

Wasiu K1 of APC is Mayegun of Oyo and not of yoruba land just like Tinubu is the Asiwaju of Lagos not of Yoruba land.

No extension please..

Politics / The Osun Progressive, The Good And The Bad by niyodoloo(m): 5:58am On Jan 07, 2020
THE OSUN PROGRESSIVE, THE GOOD AND THE BAD with focus on the activities of Hongye International Nigeria Limited.

Life they say is not a bed of roses, but every promises made (Started) needs to be fulfilled (Completed).

The progressive party in the state of Osun has really done well in the last nine years of thier administration which has been overseen by the immediate past governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the incumbent Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.

My recent merry-go-round in search for more knowledge in My Passion for journalism took me to Gold FM in Ilesha on Friday 3rd of January 2020.

As much as we keep heap of praises coming for the progressive administration in the state of Osun, we must not be a intoxicated by thier good deeds alone without pointing out their shortcomings as well.

One of the achievements of immediate past governor Rauf Aregbesola can be linked to rehabilitation of roads and creation of new ones fully tarred for the convineince of those citizenry.

Let us take you to history of Iloko-Ijesa road in Oriade local government in the state of Osun. The said road links Gold FM to the major town of Iloko-Ijesa in Oriade Local government.

The rehabilitation contract was awarded to Hongye International Nigeria limited (a Chinese company, according to findings) by the immediate past administration led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The Hongye international Nigeria limited, has failed the populace and the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN) by not completing the said road especially the one leading to the popular federal radio station,(Gold FM). Those who knew the exact place will testify and there are pictorial evidences with uncompleted open drainage to the access road that lead to the station. As we write, the staff of the station does not have access to the compound as they have to park their cars few meters away from the station all because of the abandoned road project.

It was learnt that the agreement part from the state government of Osun has been fulfilled even before the end of Aregbesola’s administration but it’s a pity that Eng. Remi Omowaiye, the current commissioner of works who happens to be a native of Ilesha has looked away on this barbaric behaviors from the said Chinese company.

The progressive party in the state said they will capitalize on the efforts of the immediate past administration so that the good work will continue.

But if it's the other way round, It is a pity and so disheartened that the current administration under Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All progressive congress has neglected the project started by his predecessor.

We are not panting the progressive administration bad,nor the Company but calling their attention to one of there promises.

We call on the state government of Osun through Eng. Remi Omowaye, the commissioner for works and Hongye international Nigeria limited to complete the rehabilitation as soon as possible as Gold Fm staff cant have access to there office in the last 7months.

Everybody shall be remembered for thier deeds, History would not be fair with whosoever that water the wrong plant.

Thank you.

Romance / MARRY A WIFE ; NOT A VIRGIN by Prince Adedoyin Ologbenla by niyodoloo(m): 8:04am On Jan 04, 2020
Some guys think virginity makes a good wife. Of course, virginity is a pride to a woman but remember, after your first copulation, it will exist no more! Do not marry her because she is a virgin rather marry her because she has the qualities of a wife.
A good wife is a crown to her husband. Notwithstanding, virginity may be a added advantage, however, do not get carried away allowing that to be your yardstick for measuring a good wife, It is worthy of note, some ladies are virgin, not because they chose to, rather circumstances such as: parental or guidance absolute monitoring and control, stringent conditionalities and the fair of the pain prevent them.
The moment they get loosed, whores are even better off them. Meanwhile, if you hear the horrible stories of how some ladies lost their virginity, you'll almost cry for them: we've heard different stories of rape and incest. Some even lost theirs to family members at a tender age, some through armed robbery or as a domestic worker due to unavailable lack of parental care. These are circumstances beyond their control. Would you blame them?
Furthermore, womanhood is a cycle: from a DAUGHTER to a WIFE and then to a MOTHER. A badly raised daughter would definitely be a mistake as a wife and a liability to her husband no doubt about it. Whereas a properly trained and oriented daughter will grow up to become a good wife and an asset to her husband. As the popular saying, "CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME".
Conclusively, if you are single and searching bachelor, put this at the back of your mind that marrying a virgin is a pride but does not guarantee a successful marriage and for the virgins, try and acquire the good Qualities that makes up a good wife. Do not make that pride you kept for so long becomes a waste. To all the spinsters, your character is what defines you and the type of home you'll build.
