Kìdnàqqèrs allegedly abduct juju priestess and 12 other traditional worshippers in Delta

Daredevil kìdnàqqèrs have allegedly abducted a juju priestess and 12 other traditional worshippers at Ekrokpe community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to reports, the victims were offering sacrifices at the community river when the gun men struck.

It was gathered that the gunmen whisked the victims away with the items they came with to offer the sacrifices.

Although efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command for comments into the incident proved abortive, a reliable community source revealed that nine out of the twelve victims were released for been poor.

“As at yesterday we receive reports say the Kìdnàqqèrs don establish contact with the remaining victims families as them demand 5million naira from one chief wey them kìdnàq his wife, 2million naira from another victim and 20million naira from the juju priestess”, the source disclosed.

Anglican Pastor Butchered to Death By His 28-Year-Old Son In Delta State.

An Anglican Priest identified as Rev. Isaac Umurie has been butchered to death by his 28-year-old son, Ufuoma Umurie in Okpare-Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The priest attached to St John’s Anglican Church in Okpare-Olomu, was brutally murdered in his sleep.

According to reports, the son said to be mentally unstable had once tried to hack him to death, but he was rescued by local vigilantes.

A community source disclosed that on the fateful night of Wednesday, 3rd July, 2024 that the incident occurred, the suspect used cutlass to gruesomely banter the father’s skull and mutilated other parts of his body while he slept.

It was gathered that the suspect’s mother narrowly escaped been butchered when she tried to intervene and rescue her husband.

As at the time of filing this report, local vigilantes had apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police divisional headquarters in Otu-Jeremi for prosecution.

Prior to the murder, the deceased has a few years before retirement hence was transferred home before the ugly incident that claimed his life.

Vigilante members flee after allegedly b*ating to d£ath, man wrongly accused of st*aling a phone

A young man wrongly accused of stealing a phone has been allegedly b£aten to death by fleeing members of Anioma Security Watch Network in Agbor, Delta State.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, 16th June 2024 at Mariere Lane, Agbor.

According to reports, the deceased returned from church on that fateful day and put on his generator to observe siesta when a neighbor from an adjoining compound came to plug her torchlight phone.

While sleeping, the woman’s child came to collect the phone without his knowledge and left. The mother unaware, also went to demand for her phone and started creating a scene when he couldn’t provide it.

It was gathered that she called in the vigilante members to intervene in the matter and despite pleas by the victim, they mobbed him. His corpse was carried to the vigilante office at 17 Gbenoba Str, Agbor, where an aggrieved mob in protest, started damaging the patrol Hilux of the vigilante group.

Hours later, news filtered in that the missing phone has been found with the woman’s child. It took the quick intervention of operatives and their military counterparts to quell the volatile situation.

Due to IG’s community guidelines, a footage of the incident cannot be shared because the v!ctim was stripped.

Two out of the three factions of the National Association of Nigerian Students currently embroiled in a leadership tussle have clashed in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

Recall, three factions emerged from the 2023 convention marred by v!olence thus; “Pedro Chibuzo Obi a Ph.D. student of Guidance and Counseling Studies at the Delta State University, Lucky Emoefe a student of the College of Education, Warri, Delta State and Rioborue Jude Deniran of the Department of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara”

Viral videos of the cl@sh obtained by this medium also captured the moment that a union bus belonging to one of the factional leaders was damaged.

As at press time, the FCT police command says it is aware of the clash between the factional NANS leaders.

According to a tweet by the FCT PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh, an investigation into the matter has commenced.

“Further development would be communicated”, the tweet assured.

Aye Confraternity has allegedly lost sixty-nine of its members to violent cult clashes nationwide just as Eiye and Vikings groups are said to have recorded 42 and 37 deaths respectively.

According to a 2024 quarterly record of cult clash and deaths compiled and published by a Nigerian blogger, “Naija Confra”, the killings were recorded in Anambra, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Delta, Kwara, Enugu, Benue, Bayelsa, Abia, Plateau and others.

While Apache, Burkina Faso, Jurist and Mafia groups recorded no members lost in the period under review, KK, Buccaneer and Maphite trail behind with 7, 3 and 1 members killed respectively.

Buccaneer’s three deaths were recorded in Ogun State, KK lost their seven members in Akwa Ibom and Osun State while the Maphite group lost its member in Delta State.

“On 29/9/2023, the DPO ‘B’ Division Warri received a distress call about an armed robbery operation at Giwamu junction Warri, during the attack one police undercover operative was at the scene who sighted one of the suspects and later trailed him to a Suya spot at Enerhen Junction.

“The DPO ‘B’ Warri SP Bolarinwa Alabi acting on the directive of the Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass psc, embarked on an intelligence-led operation alongside his men and arrested one Gift Peace ‘m’ aged 14yrs at the said Suya spot at Enerhen junction.

“The teenager confessed to being a member of an armed robbery gang that terrorizes Warri and its environs; and that he has been in the act since he was seven (7) years old.

“He mentioned other members and thus took the detectives to their hideout.

“The gang members upon sighting the police opened fire from their unregistered operational tricycle and due response was given to their hostility, and in the process, one of the suspects who was later identified as the leader of the gang sustained serious gunshot injuries while others escaped.

“He was taken to the hospital where he was eventually confirmed dead by the doctor.

“The exhibit recovered includes the following: the operational tricycle of the gang, one locally made cut-to-size single barrel gun with stocked expended cartridges, and three live cartridges.

“Two male gang members: Idigbe Osreis (19) and Idigbe Perfect (16) were later arrested at their hideout.

“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing member, and also to recover more of their operation arms.“

Widespread condemnation and knocks has trailed a footage that captured the moment a Nigerian chairman was seen flogging his apprentice.

In the footage that surfaced online, the chairman could be heard questioning the young lad if he doesn’t want to make money.

He was allegedly caught sleeping in the night while others were working.

Expressing displeasure, a social media user queried; “so it has reached the stage to flog person pikin in the name of to collect money. I won’t take this from anybody. God knows.

Another user said, “this is the height of it, flogging person on top illegal money when una dey collect is a no no, let the boy press charges and report the office immediately. This kind chairman na an!mal. He fit k!ll una.

Yet another wrote: “Na desperation dey bring this nons£nse so. After them don spend money lawulawu for club, them go come office dey maltreat boys. You nor go be chairman forever. Enjoy make he endure while it last, w!cked soul.”

Tragedy has allegedly struck at the student community of Otefe-Oghara as graduating students of Delta State Polytechnic rammed a vehicle into bystanders watching their procession.

According to reports, a Lexus vehicle in the motorcade, on top speed lost control at the car wash in staff quarters, then ran over a number of persons including a graduating student knocked against a wall.

An eyewitness disclosed that while the graduating student is unconscious and cannot breath well, two children were k!lled on the spot.

Two female victims have been hospitalized and another guy lost his two legs.

Our correspondent could not ascertain the total number of victims as at press time, however, upon arrival at the scene, survivors were been rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Remains of abducted 200-level DELSU student and her boyfriend recovered from Agbarho River

Headless d£@d bodies of two lovers allegedly abducted two weeks ago were recovered from Agbarho River in Delta State.

Identified as Peter and Naomi, they were allegedly k!dnapped at Federal junction and since then, friends and family had been making frantic efforts to secure their release.

According to reports, Naomi was a 200-level student of Delta State University before the unfortunate incident. She was laid to rest yesterday, Tuesday, 6th June, 2023.

It was also alleged that their relationship was just two months old before the tragic occurrence.

Residents of Ughelli, Delta State now live in perpetual fear as a renewed cult clash has allegedly claimed the lives of young men across the metropolis.

Focus Naija can report that sequel to the kidnapping and robbery operations plaguing the town, corpses of young persons cut down in their prime have become a daily occurrence.

One of such is the discovery of the remains of a young man simply identified as Karo allegedly murdered in the early hours of Friday, 5th May, 2023 at Otovwodo and that of a suspected reprisal at Eruemukowharien area.

As at the time of filing this report, local vigilantes and operatives are said to be combing the nook and crannies for the perpetrators of these violent crimes.

Recall that the DPO Ughelli division led police operatives to patrol along Ughelli/Asaba road, during which, they intercepted one Odogun Ifeanyi ‘m’ 36yrs and one other suspect and when search was conducted on them, one locally made single barrel gun with four live cartridges, one jack knife were recovered.

On the same date, the DPO and his men also arrested one Ediri Omote ‘m’ age 45 years, and two others, and one locally made single barrel gun with nine expended cartridges were recovered from them.

Manhunt Pays Off As Delta Police Neutralize Suspected Kidnapper, Arrest Three Others With Severe Gunshot Injuries

The Delta State Police Command has neutralized a suspected kidnapper simply identified as Felix A.K.A “OBJ” and arrested three other gang members that sustained gunshot injuries during a shootout.

Focus Naija can report that in a concerted effort towards curbing the increasing spate of robbery and kidnapping operations around Ughelli, Warri and environs, operatives led by the DPO Ovwian Aladja division, CSP Aliyu Shaba trailed the hoodlums to their hideout in Agbarho where they were sighted at a hotel.

According to a statement by police spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the gang members had snatched an AK47 rifle from a policeman and were responsible for the kidnap and murder of a victim identified as Godspower Emmanuel after collecting #400,000 naira ransom.

He said that the snatched AK 47 rifle with breech no. 19617, eighteen (18) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one English double barrel gun, eleven (11) Android phones, two button phones, one long knife, one suspected stolen white coloured GLK Mercedes Benz with reg. no YAB 733 BK, two bottles of codeine and two wraps of weed were recovered from the suspects.

The statement reads in part;

On 30/04/2023 at about 1300hrs, acting on information received via intelligence gathered on an armed robbery gang that snatched one AK47 rifle from a police officer and also allegedly kidnapped and murdered one Godspower Emmanuel 'm' after collecting four hundred thousand naira (#400,000) ransom were sited at an hotel in Agbarho, the DPO Ovwian Aladja division, CSP Aliyu Shaba mobilized and led detectives to the area in search of them. While the search was ongoing, the suspects sighted the policemen from hiding and opened fire, which the police equally responded.

“During the gun duel, one Felix A.K.A “OBJ” was shot and later confirmed dead at the hospital, while three other suspects namely Stephen Precious 'm' 19yrs old, Godstime Sunday 'm' 28yrs old, and Apene Prince 'm' 28yrs old, were arrested with various degrees of bullet injuries.

“One AK 47 rilfe with breech no. 19617, eighteen (18) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one English double barrel gun, eleven (11) Android phones, two button phones, one long knife, one suspected stolen white coloured GLK Mercedes Benz with reg. no YAB 733 BK, two bottles of codeine, two wraps of weed suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered. Investigation is ongoing.”

The Delta State Honorable Commissioner For Oil And Gas, Emman Amgbaduba escaped an abduction attempt on Sunday evening after outsmarting a gang of daredevil kidnappers in Warri.

Focus Naija can report that the abduction attempt was carried out along the popular NPA expressway on his way into town around 7pm.

According to him, the gang operating in a beige colored Toyota Camry rammed into his vehicle and forcefully brought it to a halt.

He narrated that two hefty members of the gang immediately alighted from the vehicle and one charged towards him. Without panicking, he made a getaway by putting his vehicle on reverse and faced the one at the passenger side on top speed. While the kidnapper jumped off to save himself, he zoomed off through the space provided.

He wrote in part;

“Dear All.

“I want you to help me to thank God as the Almighty God protected me from the hands of kidnappers yesterday at about 7pm on my way into Warri Town, at the NPA expressway a biege coloured Toyota camry rammed into me and forced my vehicle to come to a halt and two hefty young men popped out from the front seat of the car, one at the back and one guy rushing towards me, without panicking, I put my car in reverse and faced the thug that came out from the passenger side of the car in full speed ahead, while he jumped off the road i drove off and had a successful getaway.
While I thank God for his protection, I advise us all to be vigilant, especially in the Warri axis.”

Following the suspension of NDDC Chairperson, Lauretta Onochie from the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who doubled as the flag bearer of the party has been expelled.

Focus Naija can report that he was unanimously expelled for alleged acts of anti-party, highhandedness, syphoning of election funds and gross misconduct.

According to a resolution reached by the party’s State Executive Committee on 31st March,2023 at the State Secretariat in Asaba, Senator Agege’s alleged acts of misconduct brought shame and ridicule which affected the party negatively in the just concluded general elections across the state.

The Notice of Resolution of Expulsion signed by 36 excos reads thus;

RESOLUTION AND ADOPTION OF THE EXPULSION OF SENATOR AUGUSTINE OMO-AGEGE AS A MEMBER OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS DELTA STATE

The State Executive Committee(SEC)of all Progressive Congress Delta State in a meeting held on the 31st March,2023 at the State Secretariat,Asaba,after due deliberation of the Notice of Resolution of Expulsion of Senator Ovie Omo Agege as a member of the Party by the executive committee of the Orogun ward and Ughelli North Local Government Chapter dated 20th March,2023 and accordance to the provision of Article 21.2(1)(II)(VII)21.3 and 21.5(g)of the constitution 2022(as amended)we unanimously Resolved and Adopted the expulsion of Senator Ovie Omo Agege as a member of the Party.

Consequently Senator Ovie Omo Agege HEREBY stands expelled as a member of the party with IMMEDIATE EFFECT for various offences committed and acts of anti party activities and gross misconduct that has brought shame and ridicule to the image of the party in the state which affected the party in the just concluded elections.
