Justfollowit:

I will suggest you spray your braids with water(not dripping wet), add little conditioner to each braid as you loosen, it will reduce hair loss and friction.

Part your hair into four, use your fingers to separate the strands, try combing through with your fingers
Use your wide tooth comb on each section you have detangled with your hand, start with the tips and work your way to the roots. You can braid each part into two (or more) single Calabar braids.

You should end up with 8 single Calabar braids or more.

Spray your hair with water again if it is dry
Apply your shampoo to your scalp, on each braid's root
Using the base of your fingers, massage the roots and work your way to the tip of your braid(with a single stroke), focus on start of the braid (the one that connects to the root of the hair), where you may likely have lint.

Rinse off, if you feel you need to reapply the shampoo, follow the step again

Using a T-shirt or a cotton material, squeeze out the excess water gently
Apply your protein conditioner first, because it dries the hair, from about 3 inches from the root of your hair
Leave it on according to the recommended time of the product or in the alternative for about 45 mins to fully penetrate your hair fully
Rinse off, wring off excess water with a T-shirt or cotton material
Afterwards apply your moisturising/normal conditioner (add honey to your normal conditioner), to moisturise and soften your hair-do the same as protein conditioner (time and process)
Rinse off, wring off excess water
Allow it to air dry until it is almost dry, apply your leave-in-conditioner or moisturiser (still in braids)
Apply your oils (penetrating oil first before sealing oils)
Air dry, when it is almost dry, loosen your single braids, finger detangle, then wild tooth comb and finally your fine comb
Style as usual

thanks dear, I just saw this after I have gone through pains in combing my hair, I have weaves now and will surely try this when I loosen them or is there a special way of treating weaves?
Fashion / Re: Beauty Of Natural Hair Thread :) by nnekaregy(f): 9:39pm On Dec 05, 2014
Ok am going to loose my braids tomorrow after 1 month, I have also not retouched my hair for 3 months now. Today I bought castor oil, dark and lovely olive oil and conditioner, I also have shampoo and hair mayonaise. How do these products work for me and how do I comb my hair so that it won't be painful. Urgent advise is needed.I have raw shea butter and honey too.

Yields:

Yes, about two months, actually. Typically, I keep my braids in from a month 1/2 to two months. Sometimes if I'm really missing my hair and want the braids out, I keep them in for a month. I have also kept braids in (with regular attachment - xpressions hair) for about two months - last year and earlier this year). Most of the time, I do yarn braids, tho. They do hold pretty well b/c they don't slip like regular attachments. How do you take care of your hair when in braids? They shouldn't start to look old after a week.
so how do u take care of hair when in braids? I have one on and am so scared of combing it, is there something I can do now that will make it less painful to comb when I loosen the hair. Is braid spray like olive oil ok? Thank u.

Family / Re: TWO Years In Marriage!!! The Feeling, The Realization And Surprise. by nnekaregy(f): 5:44pm On Oct 20, 2014
mk3jax:

Well I have a similar issue with my wife. She was miss perfect agreeing to everything I want when she was looking for marriage and after marriage, her real self started to manifest. First it was constant complain about my family for no reason, then she graduated to wanting to control my life and determine who I am to give money or not and where I can and cannot go. She complains about everything and never appreciating anything I do. I provide all the financial need of the house 100% yet she want me to take care of her parent and siblings(both married and single ones) like i am their father and every time I refuse to send them money it is quarrel. She also expect me to praise her for almost everything she does like I demand same praise for putting her under a roof, paying all the bills, feeding her and our child and making her as comfortable as possible.
She bitches about everything I do making me feel like i am a child that doesn't have a sense of making my own decision despite being very successful in my career and handling lots of real life responsibilities that she can never imagine doing.
After the birth of our child, she turned to something else which in turn made me to make up my mind that I will never have a second child. She has time to watch all her tv programs to make herself happy but as soon as I pick my remote to play a game despite working from morning to night while she sits at home, she complains and I have over time disregarded her complains and do what I want to do to make myself happy. I have just one life to live and being married to someone doesn't gives them a control over my life and if you don't want to stay married to me again, then get the fu.c.k out of my life and go take care of yourself. I almost divorced her sometime ago but just decided to calm down. I hope we do not separate because of my love for our child but if we have to, then so be it because I will not live a life of a prisoner because of a child.
let her get a job, there is dignity in labour, she cannot be your help meet at her present state.

Sloan:

Are you aware your people have sold their destiny, your destiny and that of the little unborn babies for peanuts, in many ways and especially by killing any alternative voice, of which you are the 170 Millionth? Are you sure your voice or the voice of the youths are needed or useful in a country where one leader ruins a country in 6 years and your fellow youths are still shouting GEJ till BokoHaram finds them and blows them out of this world? Well, the looters have paid for your land now, killed off all opposition and they don't give a damn about you youths. They will keep eating their portion, yours and the youths till thy kingdom come! Sad but true! Wait until the losers like chino, phockman, bloodybastard, onlytruth, ngozieverdumb, etc invade this thread! How dare you ask anything for the youths of a tomorrow that hardly comes? Well, newsflash: 80+ year old Bamanga Tukur is the occupant of a new position unknown to Nigerian bureaucracy until BokoHaramJonathan created it a few weeks / months ago! At 80, he is still a youth and leader of tomorrow! angry angry angry
you painted a clearer picture of the stark reality we are in, Nigerian politicians of today have redefined ,"youth."

Aksonman: Same way 'the youths' invaded Nigerian politics in 1966 and led us to civil war?

Most of the major actors in 1966 coup and civil war were aged between 25 and 35years old.
So in your opinion, how do we change the present situation?

tonytony208: Nigeria's main problem is corruption and the solution is not in the hands of the present day nigerian youth. Is it not the same youth in SUGs? There is rarely any of them that are not probed for corruption after their tenures as SUG executives. I mean how many of those of us reading this comment (including the op) will not steal nigeria's money if elected to political offices?
No , am not for corruption.

Fellow Nairalanders, I am not so much a partisan politician but an observer of how our leaders loot our resources, however reading Bill Clinton's autobiograghy,"My LIfe," awakened political interest in me, I was marvelled at what he could do for his country at such a young age, before the age of 45 he has become attorney general of his state, governor of Arkansas and president of US, I looked back at our school days, the days of student unionism, NANS and all the young men who speak eloquently in student elections most of whom contributed to major changes in school policy decisions. I remembered the Ikoro Emenike Ikoro of UNIZIK and all his contemporaries and I ask, "where are they now?","have they contested or won any election?," "has any political appointment been given to them?" , what major reform have they done to mother land?," "Have they been given the chance?"," have they lost political ambition?"," has the present realities drowned their ambitions?". How do we take over Nigerian politics? Your thoughts my people.

Good day my people, Well am a new mum with an 8 weeks old baby, as I was working out this morning I realised there are many mothers in my shoe, trying to loose the baby fat and stay fit, experts advised that we should take it easy considering that we are just coming from a long journey and all our muscles are still loose. We women however are always in a haste to regain our normal self while also taking it easy, if u are a new mum, tell us what u are doing to loose the baby fat and if u have not started u better start o depending on your health condition and doctor's advise. Feel free to share please.
