Maybe u really should "involve peeps" to wade in. Hopefully "h" will do likewise and school authorities go ask everybody to go home when the guns start to rat-a-tat ! Lol. For real though, you need to travel away from that school. Go somewhere, far away ! Take a break from campus for a while, man. That should clear ur system. I assume you have a home, a family. Y'know, Mum, Dad, siblings etc ? Go and enjoy the company of real, sane peeps @ home then return to campus determined to ignore the distractions that are capable to bringing down your already flagging grades even lower, lol. That's my advice.
Politics / Re: The Fulani Will Not Leave - Beginning Of The End? by nuattitude74(m): 11:55am On Jul 16, 2012
I did NYSC in the north and made friends with some really peaceful and nice Fulani folks. I am still friends with them. However, methinks the problem is the Nomadic cattle rearing fulani. I went to UCH in Ibadan some months ago to visit my Dr friend. He came out to meet me late because he was attending to a case where an Arrow was stuck in the arm of a Patient. He told me the guy was a farmer in a Village in Oyo who'd gotten involved in an altercation with Fulani herdsmen as a result of his crops being eaten by Cattle. Some other farmers were also brought to the hospital with various degrees of serious injuries. That made me think. The Fulani nomads are about the only "Nigerians" that I know ( and see )moving about with offensive weapons like Arrows and Daggers. The government has to do SOMETHING about ridding these folks of weapons. Mass murders can be committed by these Nomadic Fulanis who are given protection by their educated non-nomadic kinsmen living in Jos. Now, whether these massacres are / were reprisals for earlier attacks by the Beroms is neither here nor there. All I know is that SOMETHING has to be done to flush out the Bad Eggs from among the peaceful Fulani in Jos. Efforts should also be made to disarm the Berom who hold weapons. Achieving peace in Jos is a knotty issue that demands the Carrot and stick from the authorities hence my support for this action. It is not an end in itself but a means to an end, a work in progress.
Romance / Re: Why Do Women Never Let Go Of Their Ex's by nuattitude74(m): 9:57am On Jul 16, 2012
Here's my experience : I just split with my gf cos I caught her sending pictures of her privates thrice to 2 of her ex's. Safe to assume that she can still sleep with them given the opportunity. Before I met my ex, I was dating a really good girl but I took her for granted and left her basically cos I was uncomfortable with, (of all things) her rather HUGE MAMMARY GLANDS. She is married now but she CALLS ME EVERYDAY and I know she still has a thing for me. I miss her also and wish I wasn't such a shallow fellow then maybe things could have been better between us. Its a continuous cycle really. One always feels wistful about their ex's as time goes by, especially if the break-up was for some "flimsy" reason like in my case. I think its simply human nature basically pertaining to not only women but men also.

Romance / Re: Pls Help Me! I Can't Lose Her. by nuattitude74(m): 9:55am On Jul 13, 2012
My guy, first of all quit the " I can't lose her" mindset. Of course you can lose her. You seem to have lost her already. By the way, what did you do to her to bring about her change in behaviour ? Am sure she would have one or two things to say were she here to defend herself. Don't tell me you have been 100% above board and in fact haven't pushed her into the arms of another guy. Anyway, I'm on your side. Some girls just don't appreciate one's worth. Her shifting her attention to your guy shows the type of girl she is. Don't waste emotional capital on her. What do you for a living ? School ? Work ? Chances are that you are jobless and are spending way too much time thinking of this girl. That aint good. Simply begin to occupy yourself with something. Resist the urge to call her number. Delete her pictures, past msgs. In fact X all her vestiges in your life. Seeing that you are truly in love with her, I admit this'll be hard to do. Thus, you will have to display loads of discipline, will power and 'stick-to-itiveness' Keep the company of friends and family members so that you will not be lonely. When you are tempted to call the babe, CALL YOUR MUM INSTEAD ! My mum always makes me happy and I feel a glow whenever I speak to her. Dosent have to be your mum, just talk to somebody that appreciates and cares for you. You will be at your weakest at night when you are alone in your bedroom. Watch a good, long movie ( nothing sentimental O ! ),anything that'll lull you to sleep. Next morning, wake up, say your prayers, eat your favourite meals, continue the routine and make yourself happy, laugh, see the sunny side of life! Try these and you'll be fine.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Nigerian Christians Hate Islam??? by nuattitude74(m): 4:17pm On Jun 18, 2012
@ Poster, I dont think Nigerian Christians HATE Islam. I think most people are wary, maybe scared of an average Moslem because they have the potential to transform from a gentleman to the opposite at the drop of a Hat ( TURBAN wink ). A ticking time bomb if you like. Islam ( the Qur'an ) as a religion gives a basis for such militancy in the Jihadist doctrine for example :

“"O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness ” Quran 9:123

"So, when you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity (free them) or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam." Quran 47:4

Surah 2:216-217 Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you and that ye love a thing which is bad for you.

4:74-77 Let those fight in the cause of God who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter, to him who fighteth in the cause of God, whether he is slain or gets victory, soon shall We give him a reward of great (value).

4:95-96 Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath God promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward: Ranks specially bestowed by Him, and Forgiveness and Mercy. For God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful

5:51 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily God guideth not a people unjust.

9:14 Fight them, and God will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers

48:29: "Those who follow Muhammad are merciless for the unbelievers but kind to each other."

Now, whether these verses have been abused or are being taken literally by fundamentalists is a different matter. That is the heart of the issue. If you stay in the North for example, you literally have to watch your steps and actions as you could lose your life out there for religious reasons. Recall, a couple of years ago when a Thisday reporter made a defamatory reference to Prophet Mohammed in an article. A Fatwa was pronounced on her and Churches were burnt and people killed in the North that day. She had to be spirited out of Nigeria and is on Assylum unable to come back home till THISDAY, pun intended, Lol. Recall also a case whereby a teacher was murdered by her students because she caught a student hiding a piece of paper inside a Book during an exam with the intention to cheat in the exam. The teacher unknowingly threw out the book not knowing it was a Qur'an. You know the rest. They didnt even give her a chance to defend herself. Fine, the Principal of the school, a Moslem, tried to protect her, however, some Moslem clerics ordered him to produce the teacher or else. You and I know such a thing CAN NEVER, NEVER happen in a Christian setting. You could desecrate the Bible or even insult Jesus Christ and you will be FORGIVEN by everybody. Surely you have heard of AHMED DEEDAT ( google if you havent ) the popular late South African cleric whose sole mission in life seemingly was to discredit the divine sonship of Jesus Christ. He openly cast aspersion on what Jesus represented in an attempt to prove that Christ was not the son of God but a mere Prophet. Please read his books " CRUCIFIXION OR CRUCI-FICTION" and " THE GOD THAT NEVER WAS " which were more or less DIRECT attacks on the unction of Jesus Christ. U fit try dat kind about Prophet Mohammed ? Salman Rushdie wrote a novel titled "The Satanic Verses" sometime ago and he is in hiding till this day as a Fatwa was placed on his head by Ayatollah Khomeini that he should be KILLED anywhere he is seen on earth.

Now I am not saying Christian extremists do not exist. However, evidence have shown that they are reactionaries and a minority. Extremists are the exception not the rule that is why WE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF religious upheavals in the Christian South. That is my point. The disposition of the majority of Moslem is one of militancy. That is the rule. The mild-mannered ones seem to be the exception. Even with those ones, one is never too sure. In Yorubaland, where a so-called moderate form of Islam is practiced, you have to watch how you talk about the religion or else you could be pounced on. Last year or so, in the University of Ibadan, a student who was sick in the head went into a Mosque and shouted "Jesus is Lord". I was in Ibadan then on a training and you neeeded to see what happened that day ! The school was closed down because Muslims spilled into the street baying for blood. If such thing happened in a church, chances are that the person would be prayed for and "deliverance" held by the church for the girl.

So my guy, to answer your question, most people are reacting to the stimulus about Islam that has a violent hue. At its mildest form, you could lose your life to moderate Islamism due to your indiscretion/error/ignorance and at its worst form, you risk being killed by suicide bomber on a "heavenly mision". Unfortunately, this is becoming rather too rampant of late . Its only normal to feel a lack of fondness for Islam. If Mosques were being bombed every Friday in Nigeria, I can bet my eye-glasses that YOU, a moderate , would HATE Christians, FIGHT THEM and SMITE THEIR NECKS.
