Aloy.Emeka: And why didnt you include rumour in the title of your thread? More like "Rumour says OPC. . ." And which faction of OPC is he holding meeting with? If you disagree that this thread is misleading and divisive, over 500,000 people on nairaland know better. |

Aloy Emeka, What exactly do you aim to achieve with this thread? And you expect busy and responsible people to join you in discussing fallacies and cooked up imaginations of an idle mind? I will keep my fingers crossed and watch how many people will take your bait. |

udezue: Your logic beats me! so countries that dont have crude oil dont use fuel? And the same FG excludes Ijaws and Easterners? Guess you are carrying the burden from the past in your hearts. In a tribe-sensitive Nigeria, it is important to let MEND know the implications of their actions. You said a thief once lived in my house (Lagos former FCT) and you came to my house to blew up my gate (Atlas Cove) and claimed it was built by the thief who now lives elsewhere. Now how does that affect the thief? May be they would realise that since they already decided to cease-fire for 60days. |

Politics / Re: MEND Attacks Lagos by nuesaweso(f): 12:05am On Jul 15, 2009 |
udezue: Udezue needs to be enlightened about this crisis. MEND said they want to stop exploitation of crude-oil if the Govt does not develop their land. Nobody has problem with that. If you can not develop the ND, why take crude Oil from the land. . .thats easy. They decided to attack oil facilties to achieve their objective. . .simple, so no exploration from ND Now, how does that concern a Jetty that is independent of ND's oil explorationsince it does not receive crude-oil from the ND but refined products from whereever?? Now, you have suddenly dug up Biafran War as analogy. . .Did you know that Biafra forces had to overrun a number of villages before getting to and taking over Lagos? or were they just going to Lagos without aggression? Now imagine people saying "awon Igbo ti nkogun bo oo" meaning the Igbos are coming with the aggression of war and you expect people not to defend themselves because you want to take over Lagos? Well the excuse then was that Lagos was the FCT. . .so is Lagos still the FCT? People in the SouthWest are holding their leadership responsible and we expect other people to do the same. Fashola has continued to open up Lagos to all and sundry and we still question him freely on some of his actions. Or are you not aware of the Ekiti and Ondo elections and how desperate people were to make sure their votes counted? And dont tell me you dont know about Ogun State's Daniel and all the accusations and counter-accusations all in the name of good governance? Again I still stand that the Lagos attack is a tribal attack and if you understand the art of war, you would know why they need to paralyse the South West (Yorubas). |

debosky: Could you tell me how this supplies fuel to "almost the entire country"? If you are quite familiar with our downstream distribution network, you will withdraw the statement. or may be I'm reading you wrongly |

asha 80: @Asha80, lol. . . I want to believe you are just having fun on NL. I'll tell you why they havent. MEND's "zone of influence" on the pipeline is limited to the creeks. If they blow it up there, it will also affect supply to the South and not only the North. Not that they care anyway, but I guess they have not worked it out to a postive expectation yet. In order to cut supply to the North, they need to blow up the pipeline after the Master Isolation valve so that the inlet part of the pipeline (up to a number of miles) could still be wet while supply is cut off from the North. |

blacksta: They blew up the line supplying raw crude-oil to Kaduna refinery and not the one supplying imported refined products to the North. |
Politics / Re: Is Mend Attack In Lagos An Ijaw Versus Yoruba War? by nuesaweso(f): 5:38pm On Jul 14, 2009 |
Funny you all keep saying there is no tribal dimensions to it. Ask yourselves how many of the victims are non-Yorubas and how many are Yorubas? 80% are Yorubas What is the impact of blowing up the Atlas Cove Jetty ? "The Atlas Cove jetty is the hub of NNPC distribution network tagged system 2E which supplies products through pipeline network to NNPC's depots in Ejigbo, Mosimi in Ogun , Ibadan in Oyo State and Ilorin in Kwara State. The 2E distribution network also connects Ore depot in Ondo State." So we expect to see the economy of the South west grind to a halt in the coming weeks and you tell me this is not targeted at Yorubas How does this attack fuel supply to the North, South-south/East? Why didnt they blow up Warri or PH refinery? Why not the Jetty at Onne? Tell me another story plz Thanks Asha80 |
