First: Happy Married Life!
Second: Congratulations
Third: Welcome to Trumpland

They tried wasting your time to observe if you will fidget. BUT GOD PASS THEM
The vos repeat questions to detect a lie but you stood your ground. THUMBS UP
I understand the stress of your interview. mine was also very long too but lets thank God it was worth it.

A LITTLE TIP:

when i got to the port of entry in Newark, New Jersey it was like another interview they took me to another room and left me for like 7 mins holding my passport and my i-20. i was busy watching videos on my phone and laughing at the same time because i knew they were watching me with their CCTV.
The officer came out and asked me when i will be resuming school. told her then she gave me my i-20 and directed me where to enter taxi if i needed one.

be confident at the port of entry and you will be fine. CONGRATS ONCE MORE AND GOOD LUCK

Alrighty! Thank you!

Hello Everyone. I’m posting this here because it may be helpful to someone. I had my F2 approved in Abuja yesterday. To be honest the process is a lot more tedious now.. at least mine was.
I’d been denied a b2 Visa in August 2018 when I wanted to visit my fiancé. And an F2 in November after we got married in October.
I applied again immediately and it was approved. To be honest nothing beats preparation and prayers. I prayed o! Lol. My interview took nearly 30 mins. transcript:
VO: Good morning. Passport and i20 please.
Me: Good morning. I hand it over
VO: what’s your relationship with the student?
Me: He’s my husband
VO: When did he leave Nigeria?
Me: xyz month xyz year
VO: He’s been away for this long. What sort of relationship is that?
Me: He’s come to visit me 4 times in the past year.
VO: Raises eyebrows.. checks to confirm. When did you get married? Can I see your marriage certificate and photos from your wedding?
Me: October 2018. I had her the items
VO: Who are these people with you in these photo?
Me: my family and his
VO: why haven’t you changed your name yet?
Me: I have. I offer her the change of name affidavit and a copy of the publication ( to be honest I carried this last minute. Speak of the hand of God!)
VO: so why does your passport still have your maiden name?
Me: I had it before we got married and it’s still valid.
VO: Are you Edo?
Me: No. I’m from xyz state.
VO: How does your husband plan to look after you in the states?
Me: He has an on campus employment that pays him xyz monthly and we have some personal funds. I offer bank statements, she declines it. Wawu.
VO: what are his plans for when he graduates?
Me: he has an offer from xyz company. She asks for the offer letter and I give her.
VO: so is he going to apply for OPT or is this company filing for him immediately?
Me: We Intend to apply for OPT
VO: excuse me for a bit. Takes pictures, marriage certificate and offer letter and disappears for like 15-20 mins.
VO: how did you meet?
Me: we met in 2016 at xyz.
VO: explain further I want to know
Me: getting tired.. he used to work at xyz firm so he was working at bla bla bla and we met at bla bla and exchanged numbers, became friends and bla bla
VO: you used to work at xyz organization?
Me: Yes
VO: are you pregnant or do you intend to have kids in the us?
Me: I’m not pregnant. We won’t be having kids for another two maybe three years.
VO: When did you say you met again?
Me: I explain again
VO: typing and typing. Hands me back all my papers except the i20 and my passport. She scanned my passport again. Left again. Came back.
Then “ your application is approved” please keep your i20 safe and bla bla bla.
I was exhausted! Damn.
Be very prepared. Go with anything that can serve as proof and speak clearly even if your tensed. Try to be confident. They concentrated more on proof of marriage and relationship. They didn’t even ask anything about his school.
Hope this helps!

They are getting married in December, the guy always comes to visit her in Nigeria. The best option for her was to go through the K-1 route. From what she stated as her ties, it won’t cut things through. She has a lot of convincing to do, in other to get the visa through this B2 route. That’s all I’m saying. I really wish her the best and I hope for the best possible outcome for her. But I needed to keep her at alert. @nugoh Good luck.

Okay. Thanks. I honestly didn’t think about those odds. But it’s helpful to know the VO’s prospective thought flow. I’ll be sure to let you guys know how it goes.

Hmmm
It's either A or B.
There's no A (1) or B(2)
You want to apply for a B visa. He advised you to go another route. Is there an in between visa?

I’ve already applied for the B1/B2 Visa. My interview is in two weeks. I don’t intend to live in the US permanently. My fiancé and I have a business here that we both can’t abandon. I just want to be able to visit freely now and then. Our business is doing very well. He visits me often. So did I make a mistake with my visa type? You people should help me oo ‍♀️

You wanted a honest response; why not apply for an appropriate visa category? Why is he not getting married to you? Your chances are very very slim, that's if you really have one. But all the same i wish you the very best. Good luck.

We got engaged in his last visit in may. We are getting married in December. I just want to visit for a few weeks and then come back. We have a business to run here. Appropriate plans to relocate are being made. I can always change or apply for a more permanent visa subsequently. In the mean time this is just a short visit. You think this reduces my chances? What can I do differently?

Hello guys.
I’ve been following this thread silently for ages. My interview is in two weeks.. I just want an Honest assessment of my chances.
I applied for a b1/b2 Visa. Im visiting my fiancé for a short while. He works at a reputable company and he has come to see me twice. His last visit was in may. That’s when we decided I should come and I applied. My passport recently expired so I have a new one. I never used the old one though. I’ve never been out of Nigeria.
For Ties; I consult with a reputable NGO. And I manage his business here in Nigeria. It’s an export company and we export primarily to the Middle East.
From my consulting I get about 120k monthly. And from the business, 10% of the gains. Which ranges from 100-400k.. depends.
It’s all honest facts in my DS160.
Please guys what do you think? Am I missing something?
