eneyedan: I was finally delayed today reason is that my spouse doesn't have employment in NOC a o c that's the only reason, but I just got my American visit visa on Monday so what should be the next line of action Sorry about the delay and congratulations on your US visa. You have three options now? One is to reapply via paper route again to try your luck...you can also wait till your spouse get job in the listed occupation. Thirdly, you can travel to the US and apply for visitor's visa to visit your spouse. |

Principessa0:
I think the processing time on CIC website (now 17 weeks) is referring to the time they start working on your file. Your file might be in queue for as long as possible. I wonder how many people people have applied for the queue to be so long! lol.
My MP contacted them when it was about 7-8 weeks and they said application was in process |

If you have applied and it is more than 17weeks. Your spouse or your employer can try and contact your member of parliament. They will let them know what is happening.....and sometimes that can kick start the process Principessa0:

JOBSINNAIJA:
Yes, I did send a case specific inquiry stating the obvious. They replied saying that my application is in queue for processing (this was before they requested for my medical examination). So, I know they are actually working after they sent me a medical request. It's just patience that we need. It's not easy having that sometimes but it'll be worth it in the end. I really hope I can spend this Christmas in Canada! It will be a really white Christmas, lol!
Since you applied in August and did upfront medical, I don't know when you will hear back but I hope someone who has gotten the permit lately can JOBSINNAIJA post=51125165:
