Politics / SPEAKERSHIP: Reps Minority Caucus Sets Up Committee To Screen, Recommend Candida by NwaEri(f): 9:35pm On May 08, 2023
BY BONIFACE OKECHUKWU

The minority caucus of the House of the Representatives has reinstated it's resolve to make it's numerical superiority in the incoming Assembly count as it has set up a committee with the responsibility to screen and recommend candidates for leadership positions.

This disclosure was made in a statement in Abuja on Monday, jointly signed Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, Hon. Dachung Bogos and
Hon. Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi, spokespersons of a bloc of the minority caucus, known as 'Greater Majority', who had earlier insisted that the speaker of the House would come from the minority caucus, as long as it has more members out together, than the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

While Members-Elect from the opposition parties are 183, those of the APC 177, so they reasoned that
history beckons on them to constructively, and creatively, chart the path towards the deepening of the nation's democracy.

The group among other things, blamed APC's lack of a united front in the run up to the speakership election, as a motivating factor for it's decision to go for the top job.

The APC has not been able to reach a consensus in the speakership race as several of it's members are currently jostling for the position.

A statement by the group said further: "Consequently, and in keeping with it's resolve in that regard, the "Greater Majority" of the 10th House of Representatives has put together an 11-man Committee - complemented by a chairman and secretary - charged with the task of shortlisting, screening and eventual recommendation of aspirants for the Speakership and Deputy Speaker positions."

The committee would be chaired by a long-standing member of the House of Representatives, the Rt. Hon. Nicholas Mutu, while another ranking member and caucus leader of the Labour Party, Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, has been appointed as Secretary. The Committee has one week to turn in its Report.

Members of the committee are listed below:

Rt. Hon Nicholas Mutu
Chairman (PDP)

Hon. Abdulmumini Jibrin
Deputy Chairman (NNPP)

Hon. Oluwole Oke
Member (PDP)

Hon. Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi
Member (SDP)

Politics / APC Playing Russian Roulette With Speakership by NwaEri(f): 8:31pm On May 06, 2023
BY BONIFACE OKECHUKWU

The Minority caucuses of the incoming 10th House of Representatives has dismissed claims that it's members are beginning to drift apart.

Speaking with journalists today, at the sidelines of the official unveiling of the Speakership quest of Hon. Yusuf Gagbi at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, the group stated that "attendance at such events does not translate to endorsement.

"What you see going on is not anything unusual. In an electioneering season, such as we have currently, Members-Elect are free to honour invite by friends and colleagues," one of the Spokespersons of the Minority caucuses, otherwise known as "Greater Majority," Hon. Afam Victor Ogene said.

Continuing, Hon. Ogene described what is going on in the All Progressives Congress, APC as a game of Russian Roulette.

"The mere fact that five weeks to inauguration of the National Assembly, the APC still has over 10 Speakership aspirants speaks volumes about the confusion therein. Regardless, as a popular African idiom proclaims, 'if you close your eyes because you don't want to see bad people, you may also not be aware when good people pass by.'

"By inference, therefore, the Greater Majority would continue to interface and interrogate all members of the 10th House of Representatives - even as we keep our own plans close to our chest," Hon. Ogene said.

Politics / Apga's Dark Plans For Ogbaru Federal Constituency's Rescheduled Election by NwaEri(f): 3:35pm On Apr 09, 2023
BY BONIFACE OKECHUKWU, Awka

The tussle for the House of Representatives seat in Ogbaru Federal Constituency in Anambra State is becoming more fierce and intriguing, as the April 15, 2023 date, scheduled for the re-run of the earlier election in February that was declared inconclusive, draws near.

The increasing apprehension and tension in Ogbaru over the rescheduled election, may be attributed to the manifest dark political drama, subtle and outright intimidation, and glaring acts of coercion and inducements -  by some political interests - designed to cow the people and compromise the process.

The latest is the recent invitation of chairmen of landlord association of different communities in Ogbaru to a meeting in Government House  in Awka, capital of Anambra, by the state Government.

The meeting was said to have been chaired by the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Political Matters, Alex Obiogbolu. While Obiogbolu set out the broad outlines of the "Operation Capture Ogbaru" agenda, the day to day co-ordination was left for the trio of Collins Nwabunwanne, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Paul Nwosu, Commissioner for Information and Culture, and Sly Ezeokenwa, Commissioner for Special Duties.

The singular agenda of the meeting was the rescheduled election and the need for the landlord representatives to ensure that  their members work for the ruling party in Anambra State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), with a subtle warning that working against the interest of the government, always comes with consequences.

As earlier reported,  before the February 25, 2023 House of Representatives election was declared inconclusive, the Labour Party, which also won both the senatorial and presidential elections in the constituency, was leading comfortably with over 1500 votes, while APGA and the People's Democratic Party, which produced the incumbent representative, were trailing in second and third place respectively.

The Anambra State Government,  has exhibited inexplicable obsession for the Ogbaru seat and hasn't hidden its displeasure over how the Labour Party trounced APGA in both the National Assembly and presidential elections in the local government.

Some of the landlords who attended the Awka meeting,  who spoke anonymously, apparently because of fear of government agents, said that the meeting was not only awkward, as the atmosphere didn't support free speech, as it was laced with intimidation and talks about loyalty to the ruling government, irrespective of their individual choices as free citizens in a democratic setting that provides for fundamental human rights and freedom of choice and association.

It was also learnt that to ensure that APGA carries the day, provisions have been made to grant free access to thugs and other anti-democratic elements by the party to suppress votes from those who may be willing to cast their votes for other parties apart from APGA, especially those sympathetic to the Labour Party.

At different meetings, including the recent one in Awka, where such dark plans were being promoted, the Lagos example in the last governorship election, which witnessed massive voter suppression and intimidation of voters, were referenced as the adopted model for the rescheduled election in Ogbaru.

Some of those summoned to the meeting include Chief Ngerem, chairman East Niger Community, Sir Agozie Okoye, President-General, Iyiowa, Sir W. Iweama, PG, Ossomala community, and Iloene Ikechukwu Stone, a top political stalwart in the Iyiowa area of Ogbaru.

Others included David Ezike, PG, Nkpikpa community, Kenneth Akwuobi, popularly as Okwulora, Chief Louis Ipere, and Frank Okorie, a Councillor in the Okpoko area of Ogbaru.
Politics / OGBARU RE-RUN: Gov. Soludo Goes For Broke by NwaEri(f): 7:30pm On Apr 04, 2023
FROM BONIFACE OKECHUKWU, Awka

... strategises on how to use security operatives 'corner' victory for APGA

Propelled by a vaulting desire to 'capture' Ogbaru Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has, allegedly, directed top officials of his administration to map out strategies for the April 15, 2023 supplementary elections.

At the end of voting on Saturday, February 25, 2023, the Labour Party Candidate, Hon. Afam Ogene, led the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and the People's Democratic Party, PDP candidates to second and third places, respectively.

Although Hon. Ogene led both candidates by over 1,000 votes, it was not enough to declare him outright winner, as his margin of lead was smaller than the number of registered voters in units where elections did not hold within the federal constituency.

Apparently desirous of carrying out the 'Operation Capture Ogbaru' charge, top government functionaries led by the Political Adviser to the Governor, Alex Obiogbolu, met with some stakeholders from Ogbaru Local Government Area, whereupon a decision was reached to use security operatives to scare away stalwarts of other contending political parties.

"At a meeting held at the office of the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Collins Nwabunwanne, the APGA chieftains agreed to make available wrist bands that would grant only APGA supporters unfettered access to the polling area," a source close to the meeting disclosed.

Among those who attended the meeting were the Director General of the APGA campaign in Okpoko area, Kenneth Akwuobi, popular as Okwulora, the Councillor representing Ward 5, Frank Okorie, Chief Louis Ipere, chairman, Nkpikpa Landlords Association, David Ezike, and one Ikpe, an Iyiowa.

Incidentally, the vexed issue of security formed the kernel of deliberations at a stakeholders' parley convened by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Awka, for political parties involved in the Ogbaru Federal Constituency supplementary elections.

Politics / 4,000 Election Wrappers Tear APGA Apart In Ogbaru by NwaEri(f): 4:32pm On Mar 16, 2023
By Ifejika Osakwe

Since Ogbaru House of Representatives election was declared inconclusive, members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the area have been at each other's throat. The cause of the quarrel centers around the amount of money which the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, gave to the LGA for the election.

Last week, Chief Nnamdi Singa, APGA chairman in Ogbaru, had told stakeholders at a meeting that the state government gave a total of N90 million to the LGA, but the party's candidate refused to tender it before party members. The stakeholders meeting was held at the Ogbaru Local Government secretariat.

Even with the rancour over the election money yet to die down, a new controversy has been opened regarding clothing materials and other gifts currently being shared to entice voters.

On Monday, the 13th of March, the party's candidate for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Chief Arinze Awogu started sharing 100 wrappers to each of the polling units where supplementary elections are expected to hold soon. Even though INEC is yet to announce a date for completion of the Ogbaru Federal Constituency election, APGA has been deceiving the people that it would hold this Saturday.

According to one APGA insider, "it is with this mindset that Awogu started sharing 100 pieces of wrappers to each of the affected polling units that have more than 100 registered voters.

"As we speak, he has shared over 4,000 pieces of wrappers, phones and 10kg of rice, but many of the people are still saying they will vote for Labour party. I don't know if it is because of that or because he realized that there is no date yet for the election, that he ordered that we should stop sharing the wrappers."

According to the source, this directive which he passed through one of his henchmen, Kenneth Akwuobi, popularly known as Okwulora, has met with stiff resistance, as many of the party men and women have refused to return the wrappers. They claim that they have shared it.

But those close to Awogu justify why the wrappers shouldn't be shared now. One of them was heard shouting at the top of his voice, during a meeting at Azia Hall, Okpoko: 'Why do you people want Awogu to share items he will use for campaign now that we have only House of Assembly election? After all, we learnt that Governor gave state assembly candidates N30 million each. Let Linus Ezenwamma spend his own share for this weekend's election, when time comes for Awogu's own election, we can share the wrappers and other things.'
Politics / Soludo's N90M Money Rain Pitches APGA  Against Itself In Ogbaru by NwaEri(f): 8:42pm On Mar 09, 2023
BY BONIFACE OKECHUKWU, Awka

The tension andg desperation over the rescheduled House of Representatives supplementary election in Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anambra State, are beginning to take a new twist as the ruling party in Anambra, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is rising against itself in Ogbaru.

The reason for the rancour is said not to be unconnected with the alleged naira rain by the state Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who is said to be bent on ensuring that his party, that was roundly defeated by the Labour Party at the recently held presidential election, saved face with the yet to be concluded House of Reps seat in Ogbaru.

Some APGA party faithful in Ogbaru alleged that the sum of N90m the governor released for the last election disappeared into the pockets of just a few powerful individuals in the party.

Making allusion to that on Tuesday, February 7, chairman of the party in the local government, Hon. Nnamdi Singa, wondered why in spite of the huge resources, party members went into the elections with little or nothing.

The APGA chairman had queried in bewilderment: "Apart from the N35,000 sent to each polling unit, for agents and canvassers, did any of you get any other money?"

As party chairman, he revealed that the the only money he was aware of was  the sum of N85 million which was first advanced to candidates running for House of Representatives, and later another N5 million was released.

Senatorial candidates, according to him, got the sum of N120 million each. But all went down the drain as the lost to other parties.

APGA House of Representatives candidate in Ogbaru, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu, reportedly infuriated party stakeholders when he refused to attend a meeting convened two days before the elections to discuss election logistics.

The disillusioned party members then  approached the Commissioner for Information and leader of the party in Ogbaru, Paul Nwosu, and asked him to intervene by convening a meeting. But nothing came out of the effort, as Awogu voted against the meeting.

He was said to be directly in charge of campaign funds but hasn't transparently deployed the money to the dismay of many party collation agents who are yet to get their N20,000 stipends, over 10 days after the February 25 election.

Politics / LABOUR PARTY: Stop Anambra Govt. From Meddling With Ogbaru Fed. Constituency R by NwaEri(f): 8:51pm On Mar 07, 2023
BY BONIFACE OKECHUKWU

Worried by ceaseless boasts by top officials of the Anambra State Government that it would snatch the Ogbaru Federal Constituency seat, a socio-political group from the area, the League of Ogbaru Professionals(LOP), has, once again, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC not to compromise it's stance on equity, justice and fairness.

In a trending video made by Mr. Chinedu Nwoye Glamour, State Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the State Government had declared thus:"as at today, as declared by INEC, APGA has four seats and one is inconclusive, the Ogbaru Federal Constituency(and) APGA is leading as at today."

But debunking this notion, Dr. Charles Ezekude, chairman of League of Ogbaru Professionals, wondered where Governor Soludo's Deputy Chief of Staff got the figures to suggest that APGA was in the lead.

Ezekude:"Until we cried out against the interference by the Anambra State Government last week, necessitating a directive from INEC headquarters, Abuja for a diligent re-collation of polling unit results, the Labour Party candidate was comfortably ahead of APGA and the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

"In fact, from the Local Government Collation results compiled by the Local Government Collation Officer, Professor Josephine Okoli - before the APGA interference - the Labour Party had 10,339 votes, as against 9,125 votes garnered by APGA, and 8,971 by the PDP.

"One is, therefore, at a loss as to how Mr. Glamour, not being an INEC staff is able to proclaim, authoritatively, that APGA was now in the lead. There is definitely something Governor Soludo and his officials know about the Ogbaru Federal Constituency seat, that the rest of us, especially Ogbaru people, do not know.

"Exactly one week ago, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, four top officials of the state government, Political Adviser to the Governor, Alex Obiogbolu, Information Commissioner, Paul Nwosu, Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Commissioner, Collins Nwabunwanne and his Special Duties counterpart, Sly Ezeokenwa, had swooped on INEC headquarters, Awka and spent the hours, 9 am to 6 pm, shuttling from one office to another, over the same Ogbaru Federal Constituency result.

"Let it be on record, that the people of Ogbaru who invested their trust and votes on the Labour Party, would not stand idly by while strangers attempt to hijack their collective will.

"While we wait on the electoral body to do what is right, we urge Governor Soludo to rein in his officials, who appear bent on tarnishing his hard-earned reputation.

Politics / Edochie Decries Manipulations Of Presidential Election, Calls For Cancellation . by NwaEri(f): 11:37pm On Feb 28, 2023
The Anambra State's spokesperson of PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Chief (Mrs.) Uju Edochie, has expressed strong condemnation of the collation process of the Presidential election which held on Saturday, the 15th of February, 2023. She faulted INEC's deliberate insistence on sabotaging the electoral process by ensuring that results were not transmitted electronically with the BIVAS from the polling units to INEC's server. This condition provided INEC the opportunity to manipulate figures in favour of the APC Presidential candidate at points of collation across the states and local governments that fell prey to the predatory forces and manipulations of APC and INEC.

According to Chief (Mrs.) Edochie, who spoke to a group of media men in her country home at Aguleri, the whole exercise was replete with irregularities obviously aimed at benefiting the APC's Presidential candidate. "For instance," she bemoaned, "at many polling units, huge number of votes cast for the PDP's Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, were deviously not accurately recorded, while Tinubu, the APC's Presidential candidate, had his votes falsely boosted. The disparities between the records from our agents and what INEC tries to foist on Nigerians are scary and so unacceptable to us."

She decried the gross impunity in INEC's mode of compromising the outcome of the presidential election, saying that it would have just been better Nigerians were spared the rigours of participating in the election against the odious APC inficted hardships in the land. "INEC shouldn't have bothered the rest of us with all the stress. It would have been a lot better if they declared their preferred candidate a winner while we rested at our homes. That would have been more honourable than the costly deceit we were served on the 25th of February, 2023," she said.

Going further, Chief (Mrs.) Edochie insisted that, given the magnitude of the damage done the election, the only available remedy is invalidating all the numbers bandied by INEC and cancellation of the Presidential election.

She said that Nigerians are restraining themselves from taking the law into their hands in demonstrating their frustration with the unfolding imaginary numbers from INEC, all beneficial to one man - Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, who has been indifferent to the public outcries about INEC's connivances and failure.

She enjoined Nigerians to be relentless in watching the development with a view to seeking legitimate redress at appropriate moment.

She insisted that only a fresh presidential election under a dedicated leadership of INEC could restore the integrity of the umpire and earn it the confidence of Nigerians.

........Vision Of The Massive Lion Vomiting Fire!

I am Chino Roberts , a Music Minister of the gospel and a Prophet of the Most High God , I am from Anambra state of Nigeria.

Today , the 22nd of March 2020 being sunday, the spirit of God woke me up with a vision. I saw liquid fire falling from the sky upon the earth, and people were running helther skelter , some people disappeared when the fire fell upon them, some, when the fire fell on them, they still passed through it and kept running.

Suddenly , a very massive lion surfaced on the sky and fell at a certain space not far from where I stood, and the weight it threw on the ground stirred and raised dust around it . I started seeing clearly when the dust settled.
The lion started pouring liquid fire all around with wrath that I can't discribe, and people were shouting.

Then an Angel clothed with white linen walked past the lion and came towards my direction and I asked him :
" what is happening " and the angel pointed at the lion and said "this is the father of all spirits and each time he appears in this form, know that he has been provoked to wrath" the Angel went ahead speaking and said , "the nations of the world have decided to challenge him, people have started becoming God, doing things that has misled the people, they don't see the relevance of God anymore.

"I PITY THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH FOR GOD IS ANGRY!!!"

THREE THINGS THE ANGEL SAID THE EARTH MUST DO.

1) Let the head of Churches stop draging among themselves who was the one or the first to prophesy the presence of the plague(CORONAVIRUS),and start preaching the message of mercy to the people and help them turn their hearts to God with apology, if not, they will perish.
Let them UNITE THEMSELVES to fight this together, and let them stop giving dates of when CoronaVirus will vanish from the earth because they didn't bring it down to the earth in the first place else, any MAN that comes up with another date ,it will become the date of his death. Let the people turn back to God and be saved.

2) Let them buy everything they need that can sustain them for at least one month within the next seven days.
Let them stay inside their houses and pray.
If they do this the plague will not come near their dwelling.
The plague may not last for one month but obedience is better than sacrifice.

3) If the nations of the world can humble themselves with fasting and prayers for the next seven days and ask God for forgiveness, mercy and turn from their wickedness and evil ways,it doesn't take God anything to stop this plague from operating.

Do not wait for the next person to start your fasting and prayers , as soon as you get the message, start your own because it will surely get to all conners of the earth except the Lion of Heaven shows mercy.

Please if you get this message, share it to all your contacts and save the world.

That it hasn't gotten to your location doesn't mean that the people it is happening to are meant to die.

Share this message to all your contacts.

GOD SAVE US ALL.

Politics / Why Soludo? by NwaEri(f): 10:48am On Dec 19, 2019
He is sometimes referred to as part of the solution (Soludozie). At other time he is regarded as the solution itself (Soludo Solution). Whichever divide the assessor, Professor Charles Chukwuna Soludo bears uncommon presence on the economic solution of nations.

Since he debouched on Nigeria's economic scene first as Chief Economic Adviser to President Obasanjo and Chief Executive Officer of the National Planning Commission of Nigeria before assuming the Governorship and Board Chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria, he has contributed more than many to the growth of the nation's economy.

From engaging the banking consolidation that ensured stability through effective management of the nation's foreign reserves, he was able to steer Nigeria away from global economic crisis.

It does not seem by any stretch of the imagination that he will do any less for Anambra if he accepts to run for its governorship come 2021.

It is true that the gubernatorial space is already saturated by a motley crew, the presence of the pragmatic economist will redefine the race.

Perhaps it is the fear of his possible entry into the race that provokes direct attacks on his person.

"Soludo is haughty". "Soludo is aloof" .

Note that none of those who peddle the false report has had time to engage the man.
Just pleasant fellows who, without any important qualification for the office, would like very much to be governors.

Not even an idea on how to turn around the latent economic potentials of the state.
Even when they cannot point with justice to any drawback to a Soludo governorship they still strain the limit of fair play.

No doubt, a Soludo governorship will not indulge incompetence and he does not fail to express disdain for ineptitude.
" The easiest way to waste the future is to churn out millions of semi-illiterates, largely unemployable citizens most of whom seek criminality as the only way to escape the poverty trap".

It is not difficult to see that Nigeria of today, nay Anambra needs a Soludo.

This would have explained his rescue appointment to the National Economic Team.
Be that as it may, it will not be a bad idea if he causes his effort to bear more on his state.

Celebrities / Apostle Suleman Acquires New Private Jet: So What? - Uju Edochie. by NwaEri(f): 9:51am On Apr 23, 2019
This is not fair at all, Men of GOD should be left alone. People should desist from attacking Men of GOD as well as sanitise and circumcise their hearts from every ill thoughts that might attract the wrath of GOD on them.

I believe we should all mind our business and allow GOD do his job. GOD is the only one who can judge His servants when they err.

Remember, GOD says: "Do not judge so that thou shall not be judged". STOP doing the work of GOD for Him, STOP judging men of GOD.

Some say that Servants of GOD acquire private jets with their tithes and offerings and I ask, how is this suppose to bother you? If you are a true devoted christain once you pay your tithe, you take your mind off what the Priest makes do with your tithe or offering and wait for the blessings that follows it.

Pay your tithe according to GOD's instructions in Malachi 3:10 : (Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”)

In Malachi 3:8 , GOD says and I quote: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Pay your tithe or face what GOD has for those who don't pay Tithe , read Malachi 3:9 : Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

When mere humans place curse on someone, you know how it feels. Then imagine how it will be when GOD Himself places curse on someone.

Unfortunately, those who accuse men of GOD of collecting tithe and offerings don't pay tithe , they don't even go to church.

"Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm". This biblical quote does not only refer to when an individual carries gun or machete to attack anointed men of GOD.

Be wise to avoid the wrath of GOD as a result of your ignorance.
