RichyBlacK:

If those foreign airlines insist on treating Nigerians badly, they can go to HELL! We don't need them anymore than they need us!

Airlines are posting record losses (in billions of dollars) and some yeye airlines want to do shakara for us! Our Lagos-London, New York-Lagos, and Atlanta-Lagos routes are gold mines! They should gerrrout if they can't treat us with courtesy! Rubbish!!

If Nigerian airways started today to fly passengers roundtrip from JFK to Owerri airport for even 50 Naira,I won't be there.
When I left Nigeria, Nigerian airways was still operating to Gatwick and I paid almost double to fly BA.

With all the wayo and mago mago in Nigeria an engineer can put chivita juice mixed with his urine and pure water  in the gas tank and sell the proper fuel needed for the aircraft as his private business.
Nigerians can be that heartless and unregulated.

True.

But why hasn't that happened? The "negative forces" in Nigeria are way more than the "positive forces". Yar'Adua is fighting an uphill battle!

I have sources in the presidency and I can tell you it's not easy ruling that country called Nigeria.

Indeed we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

This is sad, but, if it is the only way we can get better health in that country, I am all for it , LMAO!!!

I hope it doesn't come down to the citizens praying that their elected officials be stricken with incurable diseases.
But if that's the fastest way to get things done,so be it.
People have suffered enough.

One year is enough to supply constant electricity and water to at least  one city outside of Abuja
They can do a test case.
Pick a city out of a hat and use it as a case study and a model that all local governments and states must follow or else there'll be questions they need to answer.

like david said if the doctors ask him to be on bed rest for 3 months (as they already advised he needs to remain till his condition is under control) or say he requires weekly visits until he's stabilized should he defy doctors orders and return home.
Better yet should he fly to Germany weekly for follow up visits.

If this makes him equip even one hospital and sends doctors for advanced trainings,at least his illness would have benefited some others just like his dialysis unit in Katsina which  may have never been built but for his condition,is now a blessing to kidney patients in his state.

It's not even the going that bothers me, it's the using of this as excuse for almost no visible progress both now and back when he was governor for 8 solid years in Katsina. Somepeople actually feel this should be an excuse. Aaaggggrrrhhhhh

For all we know, the guy is healthy and just has a bump of some sort, but there are Nigerians already making excuses for him using his HEALTH as reason?? aaaarrrggghhh

My point exactly.
These people are already creating excuses before we see his incompetence.
No one can use his illness as an excuse for non performance in Katsina,if so he ought to resign now and let a healthier person take over.
Hopefully Richyblack gets it now.

Yes, but we don't have a Pearl Harbor-esque incidence in Nigeria, plus our health infrastructure is subpar. So, why not let him seek treatment abroad?

I agree that the government has to do more to better our health infrastructure, but I don't agree that Yar'Adua should die because of it. The mess was their well before he came into office.

So, what is all this talk about Yar'Adua's "handicap"?

DId you read the thread at all or just jumped in as usual tongue
A cripple does not go in and out of hospitals or intensive care.

That is it. The president does not do the day to day governance of the country

My friend he does.
It's his job description to oversee it all.
Especially in a lawless land with no set rules where presidents think it's their job to frolick with ashewo since they cannot run the day to day affairs.
If the country fails,it's his fault so he better be doing the running.
Let's not start now to make excuses for any failures and disappointments to come.

Yeah, This is good. The man was Governor for 8 years in Katsina and because he himself had kidney dialysis, he built a kidney dialysis center in Katsina. So, the people who have heart problems, leprosy, other diseases, all needed to wait for him to get hit with the same before he would feel it necessary to built centers that would actually handle other cases at the same level at least? hhmmmmm

God help him.
I hope the TB patients are not praying for a presidential TB

This is why people are forced sometimes to take the law into their own hands.
I can assure you that if this were in Igboland, that man will not live to pay that fine.
He doesn't deserve to live!
Any man that rapes any underaged person,in this case a mere infant deserves jungle justice if the courts are unable to punish such crimes.

Lets be serious, what if the doctors recommend 5 weeks bed rest for him? We'd suspend governance?

from the earlier post we should wait till he's released abi discharged.
I have the utmost sympathy for any sick person but a sickness that affects one's activities as the Chief executive of a nation is a serious issue.

@4him

I thought you are talking about developed countries. How came his fundermantal human right to vote and be voted for will talen from him by NOT ALLOWING to contest.

The present governor of NY is blind mind you. The present president of Ukraine ( i think Yuvshenko but not sure) contested and won the presidential election as a sick man.

If he has the mental capacity to rule why NOT!!. His mental state is the most important. People like you SEE this things only when it happens in Nigeria.

so are a few bank executives, basket ball club owners, lawyers and a host of college professors and intellectuals.
Blindness is a handicap,it's not a chronic illness that sends one in and out of intensive care units.

I don't think we can risk wasting 8 years in Nigeria if people can blame it on his illness.
If so he ought to resign now let goodluck take over.
The country can't afford any more excuses.

would Katstinians have stonned him to death if he resigned and let a healthier man handle the affairs if that was his excuse?

lucabrasi:

he wasnt a governor in zamfara,it was katsina and he tried his best in spite of his health as far as i can recall he is one of the few governors who hasnt had any allegations of corruption all through his 8 years in office, like they always say health is wealth and a man's health will be his first priority no matter what the country is going through,im sure if resigning as the president will give a 100% good health his wife and children plus he will happily agree.

according to sahara reports, Yar’adua, whose illness was recently revealed  by Saharareporters as Churg Strauss Syndrome -a rare disease that features inflammation of blood vessels (also referred to as angiitis) in the lungs, skin, nerves, and abdomen- has been told by German doctors to stay back in Germany until his condition improves or risk possible organ failure during the flight back to Nigeria. The ailing 'president' of Nigeria spent four days in intensive care last week during which his wife, Turai was denied access to him.

Most likely his main medication for life will be prednisone.
And he doesn't need a German to tell him that if they equipped and trained our own doctors well.
I'm pretty sure any doctors can tell him that, monitoring organ functions is another matter with the state of our hospitals and the necessary facilities needed.

~Lady~:

Hmm if the man does nothing, we will crucify him, if he does something it is either not enough or a waste of time.
Abeg what do you want him to do?

Funny thing is those who are calling Nigerians goats are not better off themselves. If they were treated in the same manner that the boarders were, they would raise hell fire.

Point is regardless of how Nigerians may act, they are still the customers. Customers are always right. If I pay for it, damn it suck it up and deal with me. If it was a free ride, it's for me to suck it up.

God forbid I pay my ticket on a plane and then beg to be treated fairly or like a human being. What did I pay for?

That slogan has a hidden disclaimer.
A customer is always right as long as that customer does not overstep his/bounds of "rightness"
You don't walk up to a chef and spit in his face because he served you  a rare beef instead of medium rare, because he decides to use a hot laddle on your lips, you deserve it.
You ask in a nice manner.

If you pay for a ticket, you also ought to abide by the rules of not just the airline but that of the airport authority, aviation authority, and the country as a whole.
If you don't you risk being thrown out or imprisoned. That is the law.
So if a Nigerian acts like a wild animal on an aircraft,he ought to caged and muzzled as one.
Business / Re: Yar’adua Orders Investigation Of Maltreatment Of Nigerians By Foreign Airlines by nwandolina(f): 1:11am On Apr 24, 2008
what illness does he have that no man has ever had ?
He was deputy governor of Zamfara or whatever place he hails from for 8 years I hear.

All we need to do is take a look at Zamfara and see the wonders he'll perform in Nigeria in 8 years.

The global food crisis is hitting consumers in the USA, with the nation's top retailer announcing that it's rationing rice because of "supply and demand trends," according to Reuters.

“We are limiting the sale of Jasmine, Basmati and Long Grain White Rices to four bags per member visit,” Sam's Club, a division of Wal-Mart, says in a statement cited by Fox Business News. “This is effective immediately in all of our U.S. clubs, where quantity restrictions are allowed by law.”

This follows reports of rationing at Costco.

The New York Sun says a sign above the rice at one of that wholesale club's stores said: "Due to the limited availability of rice, we are limiting rice purchases based on your prior purchasing history."

The U.N.'s World Food Program blames a "silent tsunami" of global hunger on the rising price of food.
