Politics / Re: Ojukwu Used Starvation As A Deliberate Strategy During Civil War. by Nzeogwu66: 11:40pm On Feb 17, 2010
This is like a badly worded Africa Magic Movie. I hope someone would do proper research on what really happened back in 67. All this crap just goes to show how shallow our knowledge about Nigeria is. Please just stop insulting people just because you have a pc and Internet connection. The Nigerian Civil war is a historical occurence that happened in living memory and can be properly reserched by anyone who is willing and able to read. If you are just going to shoot your opinions ,fine, but if you say they are facts, quote your source. Your aged father's war story and folk tales at moonlight in Udi are not facts. Men died in that war, dont dishonour their memory with infantile rants - the fellow who claims to be in the US military - is that what you learnt in Westpoint?
Politics / Re: Civil war not against Ndigbo — Gowon by Nzeogwu66: 9:57pm On Feb 17, 2010
It is a crying shame that we are trifling with a topic that men died for. Perception is reality,Afam is speaking the 'reality' as Igbos see it and you can see how strong culture can be. Nigeria is an idea  and I think its still WIP. There were several nation states Itsekiri,Ijaw,Urhobo Edo,Igbo ,etc that came under British Rule and were subsequently bunched together as a country. So everyone is equal and you can be proud of your heritage. No single tribe conquered the territory called Nigeria. None of you is prevented from becoming the future president of Nigeria.

Leadership is the missing element in this country and from the rash, uncouth comments I have observed even in an online forum that should be open, progressive and yes even disruptive, there is a high level of intolerance and racism that stifles meaningful dicussion /debate on a volatile topic like this. Believe me if the East separates today, do you think the president will automatically come from Anambra? where would the East map start from? Would it include Edo state? Cross River? Bayelsa? How would you handle appropriation from the oil wells?

I know the East very well, including the several non Igbo settlements and believe me ethnic chauvinism runs deep everywhere;in the context of Nigeria, its easy to be prejudiced against the North and the likes of Gowon. Down here and back home I know that there is a saying that 'if you see a snake and an Mbaise man, kill the mbaise man first'. Several civil servants from Anambra state were sent back to Awka when Chimaroke became Governor of Enugu state. All state government cabinets in the east are composed entirely of people from that state only. Maybe back in those days,we were really one Ndigbo. Today, I say we are better off getting rid of all the inept, ritualistic and thieving political leaders(Igbos inclusive) so we can move on withthe Nigerian project. There are several marginalised people in this country ,infact 90% live under the poverty line. This is not an ethnic problem but one of very poor leadership. Wake up and smell the coffee. Our competition is SA & India, not Abuja.
Business / Re: Is Ice Block Production And Selling Business Really Profitable by Nzeogwu66: 5:53pm On Feb 15, 2010
Ice making is a lucrative business in Africa with its all year round heat and poor power supply. Truth is that local machinery are always poorly supported and imported machines dont really meet the needs of the average man- either too expensive or scarcity of parts. The option left is to be innovative. I am going to inspect a factory soona nd will revert with my findings. In the interim start with what you can manage- freezers and pure water bags. Happy selling
