I have just realized that majority of OBIDOT are senseless and illitrates. You were accommodated by a man, you brought all your family members into another man's compound and try to take over the man's property and even used the man's families against him. But your mistake was that you allow the man to get help from outside and the table has turned against you. For your information if tinubu wins or not he is already preparing for 2027.Check out the hausa radio station 106.3 fm. You will know that he is far far ahead and smarter than you all. You are running after shadow. Go and learn how to do politics..

Relegation Fear Hits PDP AS City Boy FC Hits 40 Points Ahead Of Crucial Presidential Cup(Soccer Highlight In Proverbs)

My name is Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah of the Bush Radio Academy fame, and I'm delighted to bring you another hot defining moment of your favourite political predictions.

Today, we go dish am wotowoto as much gist dey as we finally prepare to begin the presidential league TITLE chase on September 28th.

The INEC-regulated league would host 18 presidential teams, with the grand finale taking place in February 2023.

While some teams are already in fear of being "relegated", others are already sitting on the fabled 40-point lead, making them the clear favourites to win the cup.

The PDP and Atiku United, on the other hand, are struggling to recover from their primaries' "OWN GOAL." The majority of PDP governors from the South have refused to play for the first team, much less the reserve bench.

Nyesom Wike is considering withdrawing to form the Southern Rovers (South-West, South-East, and South-South Coalition), which plans to join forces with any of the other presidential teams to form a grand alliance for the presidency.

He has the backing of Oyo State Governor Makinde, Abia State Governor Ikpeazu, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, and Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who is openly sympathetic to their cause. Wike is being projected as the new head coach to succeed Ayu.

When a girl does not love you, she refers to you as brother; Wike has clearly demonstrated his contempt for the PDP national chairman by simply referring to him as Ayu in a derogatory manner.

If a hyena wants to eat its children it accuses them of smelling like goats. Atiku is rumored to be secretly trying to tame Wike for good. In an effort to make this happen, Atiku was in Oyo state to cajole Makinde to jettison Wike and the proposed new team, but his efforts were faced with opposition.

As Makinde previously stated, if the PDP cannot restructure their party, they cannot restructure Nigeria. So the PDP is in a precarious situation that could lead to relegation. There is an adage that goes, "If you can't solve your problems in peace, you can't solve them in war."

If these top players are not accommodated, Atiku United might be on the verge of relegation with a fragmented team.

The Obidient Rangers appear to be giving their fans yet another reason to rejoice, as they began with great vigour, their pre-trials in Enugu, Edo, and Delta being quite fanciful with great prospects.

However, as they say, "tree near tree na make monkey smart," their performance in Taraba, Gombe, and Akure was poor due to a low turnout of soccer fans to their trainings, which brings us to the adage, "Na village wey native doctor know e dey disappear."

The APC "City Boy" Team, led by Tinubu and Shettima, is currently the favorite; they appear to be everywhere on the field of play.
They have lovely "assist" from Technical Director (DG) Solomon Lalong, and James Faleke(Sec) who is in charge of the "dressing room" (APC Presidential Campaign Office)

Hon Faleke, who also happens to be a good "Ball carrier," has held the dressing room spellbound; no day goes by without major stakeholders showing up to cheer on the players before and after trainings.

The City Boy team appears to be alternating between the Tiki Taka formation and the  4-4-2 diamond formation, which consists of four defenders, four midfielders lined up like the four points of a diamond in the middle of the pitch, and two forwards.

Festus Keyamo and Fani Fayode attack from the left and right flanks, respectively, with Adams Oshiomhole forming the attacking midfield.

The team has practiced deadly counter-attack moves, such as the way Shettima rubbished the ambush planned for him at the NBA conference. In short, he scored a Hatrick, one beautiful goal by Bicycle Kick, another from outside the 18-yard box, and finally a penalty kick when he gave his awesome presentation at the conference, which is still being discussed today.

Shettima's dribbling abilities are comparable to those of the great Jay Jay Okcoha, who was so good that he was named twice.

Tinubu and Shettima's candidacy alone causes panic, and you can't blame them; as the saying goes, "eyes that have seen the ocean cannot be satisfied with a mere lagoon," these men are visionary leaders.

So, while the City Boy Team has maintained a united front, Obidient FC continues to struggle with a mostly one-man show centered on only Peter Obi as the major striker, coach, and goalkeeper, while Atiku United is struggling to maintain a united front as it is reported that 8 of its Governors, who make up their star players, are at odds with the team.

Then, for the other teams we forgot to mention, such as the Kwankwanso Bombers, Dumebi All Stars,Sowere Lions etc please do not blame us; as my people say, "I dey shame, I dey shame, na so person take dey die in silence." These teams have refused to begin any meaningful training; I believe they are afraid of the cameras or the public.

SHETTIMA SPEAKS!

Elections Are Not Magic Shows

Being my acceptance speech on being chosen as the running mate of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the 2023 Presidential Elections in Abuja, Nigeria, on July 12, 2022.

Protocols:

My first duty, is to first of all acknowledge the position that His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari occupies, in the remarkable history of our great party, the APC; as well as the role he has played, in the history of our dear country, Nigeria.

Secondly, I must also firmly underscore the remarkable political journey of our leader, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His incredible vision and strength of character, have helped us to the point where our party evolved to, as the giant of the Nigerian political scene.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, we are lucky indeed, to be standing on the shoulders of these two remarkable political titans.

There’s no weight I carry very carefully, as much as the burden of trust, and learning from public servants, who never take the expectations of the public, for granted. I’m standing here today because of the benign testaments of those who believe in me—those who crawled so that some of us could walk, and those who walked, for others to run.

The successes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the past two presidential elections, were not magic shows. They were rewards for our foresighted, and pragmatic decisions, to sacrifice our personal interests and sectional sentiments, for the overriding prospects of our Great Party. We are again on the cusp of history, and left with no option, other than collaborating assiduously again, to pursue the collective interest of APC’s stakeholders, across ethnic, religious, and regional stations.

Having led us through two successful elections, and resisted the bait to impose a successor, President Muhammadu Buhari remains the man of the season; a leader who must be remembered, for passing the torch to the choice of the party’s majority, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My emergence as the running mate of the inimitable Jagaban Borgu, is based on the party’s very forthright assessment of the threats ahead; and I’m most honoured by the consensus of the distinguished stakeholders of our party, to trust me, with representing the nation’s interests, under the leadership of the very sage, the youths all over our country, fondly refer to as “City Boy”, in honour of his cosmopolitan profile.

Our public-spirited Progressive Governors, have also demonstrated why they are the backbone of the party. There can’t be enough words to quantify their sacrifices; we acknowledge the fact, that they are responsible for this spectacular structure, that offers us a palpable electoral advantage, over our opponents. Whatever supremacy we attribute to the APC, is owed to the commitment of our Progressive Governors. Like most of us, they submitted to the supreme interests of the Party, to guarantee our success in the forthcoming elections, and the immensity of these sacrifices, calibrates their wisdom and sensitivity, to the myriad of opponents we are going to face, in 2023. I’m here today, because of their wisdom; and I'm therefore grateful, for their perception of the task ahead, as one that can only be executed, through meticulous collaboration, across board.

Today, I must also testify to the cyclical nature of history. But, like those before us, we must resist the temptation to throw a feast, over an invitation to serve the people. We must always take the past as our finest teacher, one never to be taken for granted. This would guide our staring into tomorrow. I’m not unaware of the difficult political arithmetic that produced this moment, especially the understanding of our great Party’s stakeholders and supporters, across religions, regions, and ethnicities. Their resolve to settle for this ticket, is a testament to the faith they have in us.

This ticket isn’t an imposition; it’s an outcome of democracy at its practical best, and based on the aggregation of the ideas and insights, of our great party’s stakeholders. If this were an unpopular option, as the cast of partisan provocateurs has attempted to paint, there wouldn’t have been the tonnes of goodwill messages, especially from distinguished Christians, from all over the country. This ticket is a Nigerian project, not a sectional agenda, that the frightened camps have been struggling to sensationalize.

I’m sincerely proud of the rational citizens, who view this, as nothing but a pragmatic permutation, to defeat our opponents at the polls, and based on acknowledgment and implementation of the candid perspectives of our Christian brothers and sisters in the APC, who, like us, are bound by the passion for us to retain power, in order to deepen the delivery of unifying and transformative governance, to Nigerians.

About thirty years ago, Nigerians from both sides of the Niger, came together to market the ideals of a ticket like ours. They overlooked the pedestrian attempts to politicize the religious affiliations of the presidential candidate and running mate, and yielded to the message of hope; and the manifesto of prosperity promised them. The MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe ticket, defied the stereotype of Nigerians, as hopelessly sectional, and incapable of prioritizing reason over sentiments. That ticket, even though it was opposed by the same agents that doubted its success, has remained the best moment, of our various experiments with democracy, so far.

This reincarnation of the 30-year-old hope that produced the late MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe, came at a time the country is being pushed to the edge of anarchy, by conflict entrepreneurs, in gaudy suits and babanriga. But the overwhelming endorsement of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, at the APC presidential primaries, by aspirants from the very groups predicted to reject him; and his subsequent election by delegates from the same groups, is a clear message, that Nigerians are beyond the stereotypes of those desperate to tear the people apart.

The goodwill messages that have poured in, since the announcement of my selection, as running mate, to the high-performing Jagaban Borgu, easily underscore the depth of hope that our people are investing, in the ticket. And I do not doubt that the amplitude of this love, across the country, from Abia through to Zamfara, is an assurance that Nigerians are again prepared to choose the competence of their unifying representatives, over any expression of primordial sentiments.

We all witnessed the decisive blows dealt the bigotry dispensed by a hopeless minority, ahead of the APC presidential primaries, last June. The futility of their propaganda, showed that Nigerians aren’t the unthinking robots some are quick to call them. Nigerians are rational beings, with the capability to tell an invidious agenda apart, from sincere concern for them. They are not the uncritical consumers of clickbait and falsehoods, as some of us think they are. They see through the bigots, masquerading as patriots and, very importantly, they know those who represent their interests, even in the quietest and darkest of meeting rooms.

I’m immensely grateful to our great Party, the All Progressives Congress, and it's perceptive stakeholders who consulted widely, in the painstaking bid, to choose Asiwaju’s running mate, for the 2023 elections. I’m grateful for this opportunity to be a part of this history, to deliver Nigeria to a future defined by fast-evolving technologies, that will propel us towards guaranteed national security, economic boom, youth engagement, mass employment, high-quality education, and, of course, uncompromising national cohesion.

I want to assure our teeming supporters that, in the coming days, we will be rolling out our plans for a greater Nigeria, and pointing towards the bright future that we envisage; and away from the destination of those with nothing, but mudslinging to market, as the reason they deserve to be elected. Such hollow strategies shouldn’t be the ideals of a nation, yearning for an experienced and documented visionary, like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the wheels.

We will work with commitment for all Nigerians, especially the youths, who represent the overwhelming majority of our population today. They represent our present and future. We give a firm assurance, that no discrimination of any form will arise, from this patriotic alliance for the deepening of Nigeria's democracy.

Thank you very much for your attention.

There are times the perceived best candidate don't win Election. Supporters should concentrate on marketing their candidate and stop character assassination. This will bring even more votes and sympathy to the candidate you think you are against. Am sorry start the campaign now and wait till the next 8 years. Awolowo was the best candidate in 1979 election. But Shagsri won.?? Give yourself brain

Sometimes, when you are very ignorant, yet arrogantly going about with your confusion, you don't know that things don't just suddenly happen.

Our Elders say: Where one thing stands, another stands next to it.

As at 1989, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was still with Mobil as a Staff. This is according to available public records and the testimony of Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN who said he visited him in his Mobil Office at about that time.

By 1990/91, he joined the PEOPLE'S FRONT forum of the Late Shehu Musa Yar'dua alongside many other notable Nigerians and Lagosians, the likes of Dapo Sarumi, Tunde Edu, Babagana Kingibe, Atiku Abubakar etc.

That PF became overnight the most radical emergence in the Nigerian political space since independence. It remains a study for Political Scientists on how Shehu Yar'adua performed that magic.

Those guys, however they did it, managed to tumble the political landscape, displacing the old order, diffusing the Status Quo and long established Political Leadership in Nigeria.

In Lagos, even the very exalted and eminent position of Alhaji Lateef Jakande was challenged and he was quickly displaced.

Nobody really knew how it happened.

Bola Tinubu was already involved as at 1989.

He had and came along with the advantage of the very formidable grassroots structure of Lagos MARKET MEN AND WOMEN courtesy of the highly reverred and irrepressible Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.

By 1991/92, Bola Tinubu contested the election for the Position of SENATOR LAGOS WEST.

That was his VERY FIRST ATTEMPT at Politics and he WON.

By 1993, the same PF STRUCTURES added to the long established GOODWILL of Bashorun MKO ABIOLA to deliver the Earth-Shaking JUN 12 MANDATE.

It is quite safe to say that Bola Tinubu contributed immensely to that victory and as a matter of fact he was seen to be very close to Bashorun MKO Abiola in that period.

Things happened between 1993 and 1999.

Bola Tinubu stood up again for the GOVERNORSHIP OF LAGOS STATE.

That was his FIRST ATTEMPT. HE WON AGAIN.

He displaced some people who were already in place, notably Engr. Funso Williams of blessed memory.

As soon as he settles in, his first major challenge was the STATUS QUO maintained by the very old order of ancient ideas

He confronted this and again he WON. He displaced men like Ganiyu Olawale Dawodu [ G.O.D of Lagos Politics ] and the Afenifere Mafia.

Those men were not altogether very bad but there was a serious problem with the AGE OF THEIR IDEAS.

Bola Tinubu came at the time when the United States of America was having her foothold in Nigeria.

The point isn't that the British system wasnt a lot better for us, at least with benefit of hindsight, but the Americans were surely going to take over the landscape as it eventually happened.

And the Americans came with their system of CAPITALISM which compulsorily carried with it CORRUPTION, BANDITRY, PENTECOSTALISM AND DISORDER, OPPRESSION etc.

For a man of vision who had lived, socilized and workers extensively in Chicago, that ba.n.dit city of the US, who knows about America capitalism and neocolonialists tendencies, he was just in Nigeria in good time to guide our then leaders who were permanently glued to the old British Conservative Structures.

But that was something, a sharp departure, that would surely be very difficult for the older men of that era who were horned into the British style.

Tinubu maneuvered his way and managed to displace all of them and began to set up new Structures that answered to the times.

Our Elders say: Stones are thrown at birds according to their flight patterns in the air.

It's that simple.

From DAY ONE, he knew where he was going and CHATTED HIS PATH.

He had a MISSION AND AMBITION.

He knew he needed MONEY, PEOPLE, STRUCTURE AND A STANDING ARMY OF "CRAZE PEOPLE".

He went the vintage Machiavellian Don, he began to plant the nodes in every angle much to the chagrin of those whose idea were blown away.

He met IGR at a stupid level where PAID civil servants were just sweeping the larger percentage of little funds they lazily rake into their private pockets. . He designed ALPHA BETA. That company ensured civil servants face the business of civil service while it went about the business of multiplying the IGR a hundred folds even as many hitherto jobless people became employed.

He knew the problem of area boys was going to be a security issue in Lagos where people being be able to sleep. They were too many of them and it couldn't be his fault that he met that. He picked one stone a s stated killed several birds. He empower NURTW to suck out all the area boys who were potential armed robbers. They became "Agberos" a much lesser evil. The same Agberos are at every busstops and junctions, potential security guards and standing Army against invaders of Lagos.

One way or the other, money is made from it and this money manages to contribute to the growth of the state.

Your brain power won't let you see that.

Unless you want to be dishonest human being you can't tell me that Lagos State hasn't been a positively radical departure from what it was in 1999. That city/state is a permanent construction site since 1999. There are always ongoing projects especially concerning infrastructure.

Lagos have ,and it is managed by, MANY THINKERS who are constantly working round the clock to answer to the dynamics of the times are it changes.

Tinubu is a Logistician, he pulls RESOURCES TO SOLVE CRITICAL PROBLEMS.

That man moved from Lagos and in 23years he has circulated the length and breadth of Nigeria.

He has never been a Minister neither has he held any official Position of State or Federal Government in nearly 24years yet his name resonate in every angel of the country.

When you want to criticize the APC Governent, once you mentioned Mohammadu Buhari, the next person that comes to your mind is Tinubu.

There are some men who can't sleep with or impregnate their wives unless they first shout Bola Tinubu's name.

The ZIONISTS can't even attend Morming Mass of their beloved Catholic church unless they first "swear for" Tinubu

It doesn't occur to you that it is a great feat?

Since Bola Tinubu announced his intention to contest the Presidency I don't think he has rested.

Immediately after that declaration from the Aso Villa, that man has been round the country CONSULTING CRITICAL STAKE HOLDERS.

His mates were sending "bulk SMS", Posing for INSTAGRAM PHOTOS, Moving around TWITTER/FACEBOOK, Braking Oratorial Grammar upandan etc.

Since the APC PRIMARIES, two weeks ago, that man has been CONSULTING AND CONSULTING.

He was there in Ekiti recently.

He is already in Lagos waving to the men on streets, seeing the Owners of Lagos and just about anybody to be seen.

By normal right, for every normal human, she ought to have taken a few weeks off to get rest. He needs that rest but he isn't taking it!!!

He takes NOTHING for granted. He is on top of things at all times.

He is telling you what he will do.

He is an ASTUTE AND SAGACIOUS POLITICIANS, his main business in the Presidency is to TAKE CHARGE OF THE CRAZY POLITICS AND GIVE DIRECTIONS ON POLICIES

He will leave the MANAGEMENT TO TECHNOCRATS.

That is the way to manage a complex, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic country of people who were forced, as it were, to live together without an acceptable ARTICLE OF ASSOCIATION.

Let the Eggheads do MANAGEMENT OF BOOK JOBS and the MASTER OF POLITICS does the MANAGEMENT OF POLITICS AND POLICIES.

Nigeria a tough but to crack.

Our Elders say: Carrying the HEAD of an Elephant isn't a job for small children.

Tinubu has PEOPLE SKILLS. He has NATIVE AND STREET INTELLIGENCE. He has ENOUGH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING. He has EXPERIENCE. He has PROVEN TRACK RECORDS OF LEADERSHIP.

Above all, he has CRAZE + MADNESS.

You don't use ordinary eyes to confront STATUS QUO in Nigeria, you need a measure of WEED-ASSISTED MADNESS.

Let him do it. He ISNT A GUARANTEE BUT HE IS CERTAINLY OUR BEST CHANCE FOR TODAY'S NIGERIA.

His contenders, even Atiku Abubakar are somewhere now snoring. When the man lands you the expected Tsunami of a Mandate they will crawl out to say it is rigging.

Dazzol.

Pandora Papers: Throwing stone in a market place
By Luke Onyekakeyah
20 October 2021 | 2:40 am
Peter Obi
Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi

The release of the much-talked about and controversial Pandora Papers is akin to throwing stone in a market place, which could fall on an innocent person. The thrower, before releasing the stone (missile), must have made up his mind to cause injury, knowing full well that the stone must fall on somebody’s head who could be innocent. But despite that awareness, he still goes ahead to throw it not minding who the victim might be. The Pandora Papers has caused harm in that perspective.

There are certain fundamentals members of the public must reflect upon about the Pandora Papers, which, for the past weeks, has buzzed the media world for mentioning some high and powerful political leaders from around the world. Understanding the nuances is important in appreciating the essence of the report and what it was set out to achieve.

This is not the first time the world is confronted with this kind of reports that shocked the world’s political and financial systems. Granted that we are operating in a free world of free press where press freedom is the norm, just as everyone is entitled to his opinion, any opinion in the media remains personal to the extent that it carries no weight of any established authority anywhere in the world.

The likes of WikiLeaks, Panama Papers, Paradise Papers, to name but a few, that set out to expose alleged illegal financial deals by individuals and corporate bodies worldwide remain the opinion of those behind them. While they may have succeeded in throwing up smear campaign against the perceived victims, which is bad enough, the fact that their legality is questionable and their credibility doubtful renders them powerless and that explains why no one is incarcerated on account of their revelations. If the opinion of these private watchdogs could be relied upon by any government anywhere to persecute any victim of the reports, then, one’s enemies could sponsor the investigations just to indict him and paint him in bad light.

Today, we are dealing with Pandora Papers, the outcome of an investigative project said to be executed by some 600 journalists from 150 media organizations from around the world, who took it upon themselves to leak secret information in over 11 million confidential files.

After working for no less than two years, according to reports, the investigators were able to sniff through leaked files (not official documentation) from offshore services firms, which revealed the financial dealings of some 35 present and former world leaders, in addition to dealings of more than 330 public officials in more than 91 countries.

The quantum of information leaked revealed how the rich in many countries in Africa, Europe and Asia allegedly made huge financial gains through offshore businesses in the so-called tax havens.

Some of the world leaders listed in the report include the Russian President Vladimir Putin, former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussien of Jordan who have all denied any wrong doing.

The mention of the former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, in the report, has raised much misgiving among Nigerians who hold Peter Obi in high esteem for distinguishing himself among the crop of greedy leaders who have undeveloped Nigeria. Peter Obi seems to be a victim of a stone thrown in a marketplace which has fallen on the head of an innocent man. Thus, by mentioning Peter Obi, a man who is perceived as a model of a leader in Nigeria’s corruption-ridden leadership class, the report, more or less, shot itself in the foot, thereby, raising doubts about its credibility.

Peter Obi is one of the very few individuals who could be called upon to help correct the mounting ills plaguing Nigeria. If every leader in Nigeria behaves like him, Nigeria will be a lot better for all of us. As a viable possible presidential candidate, how do you prove that his political enemies have not been involved in the Pandora Papers project to nail him and smear his hard earned good image?

While the foreign victims of the report may not be known to Nigerians who are the victims of corruption in the country, they certainly know those who have used their exalted political position to rob the public and Peter Obi is nowhere near that group. It was sensational when Premium Times, a Nigerian news medium, carried the uninspiring story in a way that suggests a hatchet job. Since the news broke out, rather than tarnish the reputation of Peter Obi, it has instead burgeoned and re-enforced his integrity among those who see the report as bogey corruption allegation orchestrated by his political enemies to destroy his untainted image.

Peter Obi’s alleged offenses were two: One that he didn’t make a full disclosure of his assets when he became the governor of Anambra State and two, that he owns businesses in offshore tax havens. Obi has explained that he disclosed all his personal assets but left those he jointly owned with members of his family. This is a matter Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has jurisdiction to deal with. There is also the anti-corruption agency – the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). All these agencies have the liberty since Peter Obi left office as governor to probe him in accordance with the law. And of course, Peter Obi has passed through their investigative scrutiny and found to carry no baggage.

With regard to having businesses in offshore tax havens, the question is how having business in tax havens constitutes an act of corruption. A tax haven is a country or independent area that levies low tax rate with the aim of attracting foreign investments. The 10 top tax havens include corporate-focused havens like the Netherlands, Singapore, Ireland, and the U.K., while Luxembourg, Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, and Switzerland feature as both major traditional tax havens and major corporate tax havens (Google).

The first sign of a good tax haven is that it is legal. If it is legal, what then is the fuss about having business in tax haven? The only problem is the concern of high tax countries that frown at tax havens. Wikipedia says high-tax countries have increasingly raised concerns that corporate profits are shifted to low-or-no-tax jurisdictions. Tax havens levy fees, charges, and in some cases low tax rates on foreign-sourced capital to raise government revenue.

If one doesn’t commit any crime by investing in tax havens, why then is the like of Pandora Papers sniffing to find out who has invested in tax havens? Rather than engaging in fruitless adventure of trying to find out who has invested what in tax havens to create undue sensation, wouldn’t it have been much more beneficial to investigate the source of fund so invested?

There is no doubt that there are top officials who have stolen public funds and have it invested in tax havens with the aim of hiding it. But there are also honest individuals who have genuinely invested their hard-earned money in tax havens with the sole aim to make profit as in a business. Peter Obi, without doubt belongs to the second group, which is why he has demanded that the source of fund be investigated rather than lumping the thieves together with innocent businessmen.

Governments around the world stand to benefit if Pandora Papers investigators could focus on the source of funds to reveal the real corrupt individuals. Otherwise, the whole project is like a hatchet job designed to blackmail and taint innocent individuals. Because the whole report is based on unproven allegations that were not substantiated, it carries no legal force as none of those mentioned could be docked on the basis of the report. Why must everybody be destroyed in Nigeria? And for what purpose? Does it mean that there are no clean individuals in Nigeria if everybody is seen from the prism of corruption? Based on the foregoing, the reports carry the burden of being out to make mischief, which is morally offensive.

At this juncture, it is pertinent to ask what the world would gain if Pandora Papers and its ilk’s brand everyone corrupt. There are individuals with integrity around the world, why can’t the investigating watchdogs reveal names of people with integrity to serve as sign posts? Nigeria’s Peter Obi is known for honesty and integrity. His personal integrity sets him apart hence the move by his political opponents to bring him down.

How Peter Obi was able to remain clean of corruption puzzles everybody. Since leaving office, he has been an advocate of good governance and accountability. As the 2023 general election are fast approaching and as Peter Obi, in the court of public opinion is adjudged a possible credible candidate for the exalted office, it is not surprising that his political opponents would begin to do everything possible to rubbish him out of the game.
