For the past 4 years I have been a diabetic, at which time I was taking 80 units of insulin daily. In july 2014, I was introduced to the Aloe Vera products by two gentlemen, Mr. John and Mr. Dammy

I was a bit skeptical about the product at first when they told me that it could help my health. Three weeks after I received 2 bottles of Aloe Vera, I started to drink 9 ounces of it every day. After taking the juice, I started to have severe headaches, not knowing that because of the Aloe Vera, I was taking too much insulin.

I decided to go to my doctor to get my blood monitored. My doctor did a complete blood analysis and told me to reduce my insulin by 2 units every second day an to continue seeing her so she could monitor my blood. I went to see her the following week and instead of reducing my insulin by 2 units a day, she told me to reduce it by 4 units, after that I was told to one and see her every Wednesday for one month.

By the end of the month, I was completely off my insulin, this makes me the happiest man in the Universe, and I am also happy to say that in the space of 2 ½ months, I have lost 45 pounds, of which my regular weight was 255.

I am happy and proud to be a member of Forever Living Products and since becoming involved, I have introduced our great Aloe Vera products to several people who have had great results…

In July 2015, my doctor told me that I was very overweight and that if I continued to maintain the unhealthy lifestyle I was living, I would soon be facing a variety of health risks. My doctor advised me to begin incorporating light exercise into my daily routine, so I register with a a gym. Along with exercise, I also decided to start making healthier eating choices.

About two months after I began my weight loss journey, a friend introduced me to Forever Living Products and their many benefits. At this point I was serious about improving my health, so I chose to begin Forever's Weight Loss Program immediately.

Not long after I began using the products, I started to feel much better and was losing the weight gradually. It took me one year to lose 60 pounds; I went from weighing 195 pounds and a size 18 to 135 pounds and a size 8! this products I found to be most beneficial to my success . I am still using these products and more to maintain my current weight. My goal is to lose five more pounds.

I saved my leg from getting amputated

I’m aged 62 years and live in chattisgarh, a small village. I did not know when I got the diabetes disease. I got my leg infected due to the high sugar level and pus formation was never getting healed. I went to city hospitals and met several doctors, they all refused treatment saying it is too advanced stage and the only option is to cut or amputate the leg.

Around this time, I was told about Natural Aloe Vera Supplements which can help me. I was told that my leg could be saved by using purest form of Aloe Vera. I was told to drink Aloe Vera, apply Aloe Gelly and spray Aloe First on the wound / affected area. In 15 days time, as if like a miracle, my sugar level dropped from 500 to 126 for the very first time. I stopped taking injections My leg started to heal up and I saved my leg from getting amputated.

I'm very thankful and greatful

People with diabetes have to eat a carbohydrate-free diet:

Truth: people with diabetes have to eat a diet that is balance; they are not to abstain from carbohydrates completely as they are the chief source of energy. The amount or portion is to be reduced.

They are advised to avoid food item that are directly absorbed with little or no digestion like carbonated soft drinks and artificial juice, table sugar, etc as they tend to shoot up blood glucose rapidly.... Happy world diabetes day

What is type 2 diabetes?
Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar levels are above normal. High blood sugar is a major cause of heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, amputation, and blindness. In 2009, diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in the United States.3

Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes. Family history and genes play a large role in type 2 diabetes. Other risk factors include a low activity level, poor diet, and excess body weight around the waist. In the United States, type 2 diabetes is more common among blacks, Latinos, and American Indians than among whites.4
How is type 2 diabetes linked to overweight?
About 80 percent of people with type 2 diabetes are overweight or obese.5 It isn't clear why people who are overweight are more likely to develop this disease. It may be that being overweight causes cells to change, making them resistant to the hormone insulin. Insulin carries sugar from blood to the cells, where it is used for energy. When a person is insulin resistant, blood sugar cannot be taken up by the cells, resulting in high blood sugar. In addition, the cells that produce insulin must work extra hard to try to keep blood sugar normal. This may cause these cells to gradually fail.
How can weight loss help?
If you are at risk for type 2 diabetes, losing weight may help prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. If you have type 2 diabetes, losing weight and becoming more physically active can help you control your blood sugar levels and prevent or delay health problems. Losing weight and exercising more may also allow you to reduce the amount of diabetes medicine you take.

Taking care of yourself and your diabetes can help you feel good today and in the future. When your blood sugar (glucose) is close to normal, you are likely to:

have more energy
be less tired and thirsty
need to pass urine less often
heal better
have fewer skin or bladder infections
You will also have less chance of having health problems caused by diabetes such as:

heart attack or stroke
eye problems that can lead to trouble seeing or going blind
pain, tingling, or numbness in your hands and feet, also called nerve damage
kidney problems that can cause your kidneys to stop working
teeth and gum problems

Take diabetes seriously.

You may have heard people say they have “a touch of diabetes” or that their “sugar is a little high.” These words suggest that diabetes is not a serious disease. That is not correct. Diabetes is serious, but you can learn to manage it.

People with diabetes need to make healthy food choices, stay at a healthy weight, move more every ray, and take their medicine even when they feel good. It’s a lot to do. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it!
Health / Re: How Is Diabetes Managed by Obebedy(m): 4:12pm On Nov 03, 2015
Kidney Test. People with diabetes need to have a blood or urine test ordered by their doctor every year to check how well their kidneys are working.

Fluid Shot. A flu shot should be given once every year. A doctor or health care provider may also order a pneumonia shot.

Dental Exam. It is important that people with diabetes have their teeth and gums checked every six months.

Coping Skills. People with diabetes may need to talk to their health care team about any feelings, problems or questions they may have. People with diabetes are at higher risk for depression.
Health / Re: How Is Diabetes Managed by Obebedy(m): 11:57am On Nov 01, 2015
Cholesterol. A lipid profile blood test should be checked once a year. This includes total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL. The total cholesterol should be less than 200 mg/dL, the LDL (known as the bad cholesterol) should be less than 100 mg/dL and the HDL (known as the good cholesterol) should be greater than 40 mg/dL for men and greater than 50 mg/dL for women.

Eye Exam. A dilated eye exam should be done every year by an optometrist or ophthalmologist (an eye doctor who specializes in eye diseases). During a dilated eye exam, eye drops are used to make the pupil (the black part of the eye) bigger. This allows the eye doctor to see the back of the eye. Finding eye problems early and getting treatment right away will help prevent more serious problems later on.

Foot Exam. It is important that people with diabetes take off their shoes and socks at every doctor's visit and learn how to check their feet daily for cuts, breaks in the skin, or ingrown toenails. The doctor also needs to know if there are any changes in the color or shape of the feet, or if there is any pain or lack of sensation.
Health / Re: How Is Diabetes Managed by Obebedy(m): 11:56am On Nov 01, 2015
Take Your Medicine. It is important for people with diabetes to know what medicines they are taking, why they are taking them and how to take them. People with diabetes should tell their doctor or health care provider if they are taking any herbs or other supplements.

Check Blood Sugar. A doctor or health care provider can explain how to test blood sugar and how often it should be checked.

Quit Smoking. The NYS Smoker's Quitline (1-866-697-8487) provides help to people who want to stop smoking.

A1C Blood Test. This blood test measures the average blood sugar over the last three months. It should be done two to four times a year. An A1C measure of less than 7 percent is the goal. (More information on A1C testing for diabetes control).

Blood Pressure. This should be checked at each visit to a doctor or health care provider. A blood pressure reading of less than 130/80 mmHg is the goal.

Count your calories.
When you know what your RMR is, then you can calculate how many calories you consume in a day. Just make a note of what and how much you eat, and then look up the caloric value for those foods. Add them up.
Health / Re: Risk Of Over Weight by Obebedy(m): 11:06am On Nov 01, 2015
2
Calculate your resting metabolic rate.
After you have identified that you are at your ideal weight, the next thing to do is calculate your resting metabolic rate (RMR). The reason for doing so is that weight is neither gained nor lost when the calories you burn is equal to the calories you consume. If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. If you burn more calories than you eat, then you lose weight. Search for a resting metabolic rate calculator, which will calculate approximately how many calories your body burns on a daily rate. The calculator will include regular daily activities, but it won't account for any workouts or training sessions you may have.

1
Calculate your BMI.
Your BMI is a better indication of your ideal weight compared to an actual number on the scale. That is because the BMI takes into consideration your height and weight and uses that to calculate your level of fatness. A weight range can vary from 1 extreme to the other, and may not take into consideration your height. To calculate your BMI, multiply your weight in lbs. by 703, then divide that number by your height in inches, squared. So if you weighed 120 lbs and you were 65 inches (165.1 cm) tall, your BMI would be 19. In metric, divide your weight by your height squared. Your BMI number can then be compared to a BMI chart to determine if you are at your ideal BMI or not.

STEP 1 - Set your goal and write it down

Many self development gurus advocate that to achieve something, you must first set your goals and to write it down.

You must be thinking what goal is there to set since you merely want to maintain your weight. But the truth is that even maintaining your body weight itself is a goal. Because your weight can actually swing the other way and you start gaining pounds!

STEP 2 - Find out how many calories your body need

As you probably know, how many calories your body need depends on many factors like your basal metabolism rate, age, sex, job, activity level. In fact, it is almost impossible to be precise due to these variables.

However, there is a rule of thumb based on your level of exercise:

- Light Exercise: Multiply your weight in pounds by 14

- Moderate Exercise: Multiply your weight in pounds by 16

- Heavy Exercise: Multiply your weight in pounds by 18

For example, Kelly weighs 140 pounds. She is moderately active. Her calorie needs are 140 x 16 = 2240 calories/day

Again, remember that this is just an approximate guideline.

Trans fat is the most unhealthful type of fat, according to the Center for Young Women's Health. MayoClinic.com states that trans fat can both increase your LDL cholesterol and decrease your HDL, or "good," cholesterol, thus increasing your risk of heart disease. Additionally, consuming trans fat can increase the inflammation in your body, which may increase your risk of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes, and it can lead to insulin resistance, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. Harvard also reports that for every 2-percent increase in daily calories from trans fat, risk of coronary heart disease increases by 23 percent. Most trans fat in the average American's diet comes from commercially baked goods, margarine, snack foods, fried foods and other processed foods

Saturated fat is a type of fat that comes mainly from animal products, such as meat and dairy products, as well as coconut and palm oils. This type of fat is unhealthy for your body and may increase your risk of Type 2 diabetes, according to MayoClinic.com. It may also increase your risk of heart disease by increasing your LDL, or "bad," cholesterol. The National Institutes of Health reports that saturated fat is the main dietary cause of high LDL cholesterol. Decreasing your risk of heart disease is not as simple as cutting back on the saturated fat in your diet. The Harvard School of Public Heath states individuals can decrease their risk of heart disease by replacing the saturated fat in their diet with healthy unsaturated fat but not by replacing the saturated fat with other unhealthy nutrients, such as refined carbohydrates.
Health / Re: Risk Of Over Weight by Obebedy(m): 7:45am On Oct 20, 2015
Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated are the healthy types of fa that can improve cholesterol levels, decreasing your risk for cardiovascular disease according to MayoClinic.com. Monounsaturated fats -- found in nuts, avocados and olive oil -- promote better sugar control and insulin levels. Polyunsaturated fats include omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are essential fats your body needs. Eating a diet that includes good sources of polyunsaturated fat can lower your blood pressure, protect against irregular heartbeats and lower your risk for Type 2 diabetes, according to the Harvard School of Public Health. Additionally, your body relies on omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for proper brain development and function.

High Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways.

Your chances of having high blood pressure are greater if you're overweight or obese.

Stroke

Being overweight or obese can lead to a buildup of plaque in your arteries. Eventually, an area of plaque can rupture, causing a blood clot to form.

If the clot is close to your brain, it can block the flow of blood and oxygen to your brain and cause a stroke. The risk of having a stroke rises as BMI increases

Choose whole grain foods instead of processed grain products like white bread, white rice or regular pasta. Try brown rice with your stir-fry or whole wheat spaghetti with your favorite pasta sauce.
Include fish in your meals two to three times a week and choose lean meats like chicken and turkey without the skin. To prepare meats and fish with less fat, trim any visible fat and use low-fat cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, roasting, poaching or stir-frying.
Include dried beans (like kidney or pinto beans) and lentils in your meals.
Choose low fat dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese (1 percent fat or less).
Choose liquid oils such as canola, olive or peanut oil for cooking, instead of solid fats such as butter, lard and shortening. Remember that all fats are high in calories. If you're trying to lose weight, cut back on portion sizes of added fats.
Choose fruit that is in-season for dessert – you'll get more flavor and pay less too! Try to cut back on high-calorie dessert and snack foods such as chips, cookies, cakes and ice cream that give you and your family little nutrition.
