What have achieved so far - is nothing. Ruto is returning almost all key members of cabinet.
Change will not come from streets - but will come from political will of leadership.

They could have gone to Abuja and left Lagos alone since the second lap of their protest was that the president must go. The president is not based in Lagos yet Lagos lost more from a protest insisting the president must go. Protest must be strategic even if disorganised.

The people who burn and destroy property are hired goons by the government. They do that to discredit protesters who have genuine demands and justify the use of lethal force. Very self-serving. This was established beyond reasonable doubt atleast here in Kenya during the protests. Goons were recorded in the residences of senior govt officials being issued with money and batons to attack peaceful protestors and destroy property, including looting and burning. Unbeknownst to them, their plans were scattered across the country because goons with batons were neutralized everywhere. Some were seriously beaten and confessed to having been sent by politicians. They only used goons on two protest days but citizens outwitted them completely. The key is to outmuscle govt propaganda in such cases. They lost that one very badly and were left with eggs on their faces even internationally.

The people who loot are usually a very small group that cannot outdo millions of peaceful citizens so long as they carry no guns. I can tell you authoritatively that goons are not going to have any major influence in future protests. If you're caught looting youre swiftly arrested and handed over to police. This happened last week. At the moment rogue police are the major risk because they shoot aimlessly on command from above to scare protestors but even those ones will be dealt with. You cannot let a few fellow citizens armed with nothing more than clubs to terrorize you. The govt should only employ its monopoly of violence using govt institutions like the police and army but equally be prepared for the fallout when they are out of power. Everywhere across the civilized world citizens should express their frustrations openly and the govt should deal with any rowdy groups but in Africa they intentionally fund, facilitate travel, and let the rowdy goons operate unimpeded as a strategy of countering genuine airing of grievances.

Look man I get you but EndSars 2020 ended up destroying many facilities in Lagos and what is more painful is that even after the Government disbanded SARS, they decided to continue and said Buhari must go.

My biggest problem is that lots of BRT buses were burnt down. The most advanced DNA facility in West Africa at the time was burnt down and many other things in Lagos.

All of this happened because there were no leaders. When you move from End SARS (which was done before shit got worse) to Buhari must go all of a sudden ( which was going to be more difficult) you show that you are not organised with your demands.

Everything that was destroyed during those protests is not even 0.1 % of the money stolen from Nigeria every day. If you pushed the govt to cut corruption by even half you wouldn't imagine the kind of things that could be built with the saved money.

In Nigeria for instance , I would prefer to see a protest in front of the senate and beside ASO Rock area in Abuja with leaders of the protests presenting their demands but not in Lagos.

Something has to give. If one day you make an inch of progress by presenting peaceful petitions to Aso Rock I will pay you special homage. That cannot work in Africa. The politicians will be more than happy to have such protests every day and change nothing. The so-called leaders will be compromised by govt and paid to calm you down. You might as well be one of them from the way you go about things here. In Kenya we tried raising voices for two years protesting bad governance and budgeted corruption but a protest that took less than a month addressed all those concerns. The govt is now in the middle of painstakingly addressing the concerns that one month ago they would never even have imagined bothering. Ofcourse its not easy and they are trying every delay tactic and gimmicks but the prospect of being overwhelmed by nationwide protests is scaring them. You stick to that nonsense of talks with leaders who dont give one s.hit about you and see where it gets you.

Fixing the rotten system one department at a time. You can imagine a whole president and his deputy creating offices for their spouses and funding those offices, which exist nowhere in the constitution, to the tune of 1.25 Billion Kshs or about 15 Billion Naira every year. Yet the president and his deputy each has an office and an official residence each separately funded to the tune of billions. Anyone who does this is a diabolical maniac that deserves to retire. We have never hit these lows previously where the president is always looking for a loophole to steal public resources. This kind of depraved mentality is very hard to explain even from an evolutionary perspective. These are people who endlessly portrayed themselves as the most saved people in Kenya. When he got power major foreign investors were afraid of him and withdrew their money from NSE, this lead to increase demand of dolllars hence an increase from 120 in August 2022 to 160 2024. When he saw that he could not get touch of the escaping exchange rate, he turned to IMF, World bank and other international loans to inject dollars into the economy. Through these loans and donations at least shillings have stabilized.

On matters inflation. He is the guy who raised the prices of almost everything, when he got into power Super Petrol was retailing at 144, he pushed it to 2013 per liter even though the global prices kept on reducing. This prompted Uganda to stop relying on petroleum imported by Kenya but instead started to import their own petroleum.

The IMF rewards crooks like Ruto. The moment you hear that your prez is working with IMF just know he is a mega thief.

The same Russia had given Kenya millions of tonnes of free fertilizer just the other day, some of which Ruto stole and sold farmers fake fertilizer in the form of soil dug from the ground. Never seen such a disaster of a govt.
