My brother is a Canadian citizen, he's getting married. Documents he sent to me were:
1. Invitation Letter
2. Copy of his Canadian passport
3. Wedding cards
4. Bank Statement
5. House ownership document in Canada
6. Letter from the Church where ceremony will take place

For me, I'm still in the University here in Nigeria, So I only submitted the following documents:

1. Letter from my HOD
2. Admission Letter
3. School Fees receipt from 1st year to 4th year
4. Letter explaining why I must attend his wedding

NB: I stand to be corrected, to get the Canada vistors visa u must av huge travel history especially a USA visa on your passport, 98% of people on this thread that got the Canada vistors visa had USA visa in their passport. A virgin passport will not do any magic.

That's not true. I applied for a visitor visa with a virgin passport.

You might need to call the VFS office to confirm. I am happy to hear that there is a UPS service for the submission of the passports.

When did you apply?

Hey Guys,

I applied for Canada visitor visa via online and yesterday, CIC sent me a letter requesting for my original passport. The problem is, I don't want to travel to Lagos or Abuja. I was told I can send my passport to the Visa Office in Lagos or Abuja through UPS and I will have to pay =N=4960. My question is, am I responsible for the return envelope? or does the N4960 covers the cost of sending back my passport?

No I dont. Your SOP should be unique and carry ur message. You can have a look at some format online google.

Sorry man I'm bombarding you with questions. I just want to get things straight before I re-submit. Im not sure if my brother will have time to get his bank statement or other support docs mailed it to me again. He works off shore. Can I use the same bank statement (current till September) and other supporting documents I used in the past and re-apply? The refusal letter states that I can reapply if I feel that I can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that my situation meets the requirements.

I was thinking about writing another SOP and get more supporting docs as proof of family ties.. What do you think?

Yes, u will have to do biometrics again and apply afresh. have u decided to change your program of study to a PGD? And also think of writing a very good statement of purpose to convince them that u genuinely intend to study..

I have decided to change my program to PGD for September 2016 admission. Do you have any sample Statement of purpose I can look at? I thought the SOP I wrote was good enough but apparently it wasn't.

Thanks Berexio. I am a graduate of Accounting program here in Nigeria but my brother advised me to do a Diploma program in Accounting. I want to re-apply. Do you have any idea if I'd be required to do another Biometrics? Is it ok if I re-submit the same supporting documents I used in the previous application but this time with more detailed letter to prove that I'm genuinely going to study and will return after my studies?

Hello guyz, I need your help.

I applied for a diploma program which will start in January 2016
My Study permit application was submitted online on the 12 Sep 2015
I received a letter to go do medicals on Oct 19
I did the medicals on Oct 22
Online profile updated to Medicals Passed on Oct 29
Today I received a letter that my application was refused with the following reasons:
*travel history
*family ties in Canada and in country of residence
*purpose of visit

All these while, I thought my application was being processed in Nigeria but the refusal letter was signed in Accra Ghana. My brother is my sponsor and he's a Canadian citizen. He wants to call the embassy first before he appeals the case. Does anybody know what number to call? Or can I reapply immediately? Please I need your advice

Hello guyz, I just discovered this forum yesterday. I was invited to do my medicals for TRV, which I completed last week. My online profile was recently updated to medical result "Passed". Now am waiting for immigration to request for my passport. My question is, can I send my passport to the embassy via UPS without using VFS service?
