Ibaku: I said b4 that testing should be on fringe reception only n not on dth frequencies. U know, something like †ђε̲ way lkiriye did. Some tps from hotbird, nilesat,astra,hispasat etc will be tested by each lnb and performance recorded.

The red classic and samson did excellently well on fringe reception from zap on 36-turkish package on astra 1g to sky on astra to badr on 26 to eurobird 25.5 just 2 tps to hotbird.atlantic bird 3 to rascom 2-8,to nilesat and ab7. And hispasat. Those were the sat i was able to achieved.fixed dish gives better signal than motorised so if u are using those lnbs on fixed you stand the chance to give your dish maximum teaking or skewing.

odilibe: you only need to Look for weak signals not all tp can hit 97percent On 90 cm dish cheers

You can only enjoy all satellites by venturing into BUD although it could be ugly and look crazy at first sight but you have the world inside it,its a fibre dish 3m to be precise.

I hacked my dish cant move beyond 36 e- 30w as i have blockages both left and right i would have love to pull in more satellites close to asia and america but the blockage is my constraint.

You can get the best out of your bud by working on it all the time to see if you have goodies from 90e-60w

I ran the test yesterday and today after the rain to confirm which lnb is the best for our region for fringe reception,all lnbs are good but they have little edge over one another .No doubt from the data above inverto red classic c120 is the best because its very sensitive to signal and it pick up the signal without much stress,
Next is samson,its equally good for fringe reception,red classic have a little edge on hotbird over samson .It brings hotbird signal closer than we ever imagine.I guess its because the lnb is from uk and hotbird is uk satellite.In the absent of none like samson and inverto redclassic c120 stargold fuji is equally good,it perform very good in the absent of redclassic and samson ,stargold fuji is equally good.
Both avenger and the dms isnt the best for our region they have poor results,but if any body want to go ahead purchasing either of the two DMS is ok.The worst is avenger.But i will never condemn both avenger and dms because those lnbs are from america and we dont have any america satellite available here so we cant say those lnb are bad.
conclusively,shopping from US Shouldnt be the solution to our fringe reception, better we shop directly from UK and Asia market I think we can get value for money from these regions.

All those lnbs are for satellite tracking no string attached.i have been receiving calls since yesterday asking what is the usefulness of the eagle.the eagles are those lnbs in that box.i hope am clear.

Locating where the focal point is could be the problem.anybody with the formula to calculate offset dish focal lenght?should kindly drop it.so that we can work on it.

This is quite interesting,but unfortunately the thread is so short because not everybody want to be a farmer but everybody want to eat food made by farmers,few people that are ready to serve in the farm will always be the king.Experience in animal husbandry is a plus plus,and you must have interest in taking care of animals before you can be successful in poultry business.You can start small and grow big.I started small but now i thank God.No doubt poultry business is capital intensive but never mind their is money in the business and it requires hard labour ,no pain,no gain ,you must fold your sleeves to ready for the farm jobs for you to be successful.The beautiful thing about it is you can sack your boss once you know how to make money through farming.Every year you keep expanding your flock ,that is the beautiful thing about poultry because your production cant be enough for the populace so you need more production.If everybody is into farming if we have excess we can send to those famine area of the world.Dont forget you can make bio fuel from your farm waste,this i have done for different farm owner and they are happy about it.wouldnt you wanna go green? i will not dispute your claim on offset dishes as regards the just concluded test,basically in nigeria we are mostly used to prime focus dishes except for those that can lay their hands on offset which is hardly in our market with respect to 1.2m and above.from your findings you can see that the samsons are for offset but performed extremely well on prime focus.the one used for our testing was the dual type.i can imagine the samson if it was a quad lnb which means more signal cheers.

some lnb that perform well on both offset and prime focus are universal lnb.Fuji lnb which we all known as prime focus lnb cannot work on offset dishes no matter how good you skew the lnb,I have tried it no result.Most lnb with long neck and small diameter are meant for prime focus while those with short neck wider diameter 40mm are for offset.Feed horn is another factor.some feed horn are for prime focus while others are for universal lnb.we tends to mix up things and make work a little bit complicated.so getting the right result for our lnb may be difficult.

Note irrespective of how good or bad an lnb is it will not perform up to expectation if there is design error during dish fabrication on the dish.good curve.smooth surface and correct focal point with good f/d will make your best lnb perform to expectation either its pan or fibre.in term of signal gain on either fibre or pan i still don't believe either out perform one another.pan is cheaper but its heavier while fibre is costly but lighter.pan surfaces not100% smooth because of riveting. While fibre surface is 98% smooth and rivet free.pan need periodic maintenance while fibre is biannual.pan can be easily recycle into another material but fibre i don't think its recyclable.

welldone Ikiriye and Sammu.Among the four or six lnbs i think samson is the best in signal performance.None of the european and american lnbs were able to withstand samson.Based on your research result I still vote samson ,next is echosat.
Also the decibel 0.1,0.2 and 0.3 doesnt count in signal performances,on a good day 0.1db suppose to do the magic but 0.3db carried the day,so rating lnb based on db is not the way forward for fringe receptions.

long throat or short throat lnb isnt the solution most lnb are designed base on the f/d of the dish ,so different lnb is meant for different f/d for better signal performance.

Also ,we do incur some errors during dish installation and satellite tracking with most dish lnbs,even if you have the right lnb with the right f/d for the dish you may under illuminate or over illuminate the signal converged at the focal point their by making your lnb to over perform or under perform.Also we do fail to perfectly aligned dishes to satellites. since we dont have right spectrum analyser /equipment we cant tell if we are on the arc where the satellite is,without all these in place we cant tell how good or bad an lnb performances are.

Some of the lnb shld work on 90cm.but receiving fringe reception might not possible. but yet nothing is impossible.

T-shirt,you must be good at tracking fringe receptions to be able to pull in those satellites.Most people here are limited to small dishes,tracking with small dish is just a foundation to tracking fringe reception and at the same time you must understand behaviour of satellites on the clarke belt for you to get those satellites.Its not easy as you think though but i believe you too can .
