@all, am love with free to air, but when am reading all the posts about 1.8, 2.4, 3.6, 4m dish or more i dont use to make any comment cos the the price of those dish is too high for me to afford, is when they talk of any channel on 60cm or 90cm that i do make comment, infact what am seeing is like free to air is turning to pay tv, imagine the price of 4m dish, i dont think i can even afford this in a year. Is so sad nothing is easy in nigeria, other foreign countries are getting these channels with smaller dish, and many of them are free, imagine our national tv is pay tv package.

Go for what suit your pocket my brother. Contentment is the key word.big dish is for fringe reception ask any Nigerian in the UK who want dstv at all cost in the UK.his dish will be as big as 4m and here you are in Nigeria with 0.60m you get all dstv channels(.afrimagic Yoruba and Hausa in uk via dstv) as example.you will need big dish to hunt down Intelsat 20 68.5e

My dear, my headache is that even with 4m you will still need an account to enjoy sports and that I'm not ready for

It depends on the sports.cycling, swimming, boxing football, snooker just name them they all have feeds on big dish.its the responsibility of the owner to keep feed hunting. If you can visit some sites you get keys to view this channel.even in the Europe some die hard satellites lovers choose feed hunting.last season I watched most of my champions league on FTA but on big dish.contentment is the key word what you see is what you get on fixed dish on motorise you get so much.
Its a pure fun.
You can chose not to pay or choose paid TV its a choice.

If 3m can be this dull on hotbird in Lokoja that means it won't even show any green in Benin city, the option for me now is 4m but it's very expensive and I lack space. I have decided to buy CTL at least the money for 4m can give me 3 years subscription.

LOL I can bet it with you you will still go for the 4m.its not because people can't afford dstv but the fun in do it yourself is the factor here.

Imagine you have CTL and you are comfortable with it and one day you enter the forum and discover new things you will forgo the CTL and face the reality of FTA which is DIY.
Its a serious disease no doctor can cure it.imagine an old man of 70 yrs.still tracking in Hungary I can't believe the sickness too affect the aged people.
Its fun anytime any day.

[quote author=Talenty post=36328418]My dear locally made 4m dish is about 120k While 3m is 45k. I don't understand why 4m is that costly compared to 3m.[/quote

I guess is because of the materials and the demand.3m is handy while 4m is massive.
Then you get so much more on 4m than 3m.

Recommendation to those who wants sports in my area is to go for a 4m dish whether pan or fiber to avoid stories that touch.
I will explore the cband channels later in the week.

If I may ask is bein sport on hotbird because I use a 3.6m fibre and my installer said that with 3.6 you can't receive hotbird& he also said that you need at least 5m to enjoy hotbird though I receive all bein sport on eshail sat on the 3.6 some of the station still crack

The Beinsport on hotbird 13e is the same with what we have on 7e.No English premiership.if you have valid subscription you can still enjoy your favourite EPL on the same satellite.

If anybody want Beinsport he should focus more on eshail 25.5e.
Pls where is your location.

I have finished installation. I could only get very few hotbird tps on my 3m local pan dish.
Pictures coming.
Not very happy because my target of Beinsports on hotbird not achievable on this local pan dish.
I will have to import the foreign dishes of at least 3.6m to enjoy hotbird here. A colleague in town here gets almost all hotbird tps on his 3.5m fiber dish.

Why Beinsport on hotbird?Go for canal family, canal sport and fox sport on the same sat.if you have this you need not import any dish.
You can't compare 3.5m with 3m that 0.5m goes a long way.
In the mean time I will be working on 4.2m dish in my workshop.

Bros, dont insult people here.i did not say ORTM, i said ORTM2(TM2)i dont post rubbish if i've not done my findings thank God a member frm ivory coast have just comfirmed this.

Sorry my mistake. I have ortm and TM2 (12340 v 2121)on my set up but i haven't watched any EPL on it.if what I posted upset you I think I tender by apology.
Thanks for the update at least I will move my dish to tm2 when ever live matches is going on.

For you to track 31w without much stress use this tp 10962 v 10000 its a radio transponder on 37.5 w once you hit green just move your dish upward.I think you should be fine.
Note move slowly until you hit green 31 w signal doesn't pop up like other tp even when you are on that satellite you have to wait for some seconds before it turns green.
If you are using 4669xii once your signa jump from 20 to 27% make sure you move slowly and steadyly it goes to 40 and then green.
Viva FTA.

awaitey:
please I need help on how to fabricate 4 meter dish.

Precision and accuracy is the key thing.if you can't be accurate in your design and construction your 4m might behave like 90cm.

One silly thing about dish fabrication is no matter how poor you design and construction is you still get little signal. In the long run you get discourage when you find out that you 90cm out perform your 4m.

Start with small dish design and fabrication gradually work your way to bigger dish.what Geometry posted is just the theories and practicals until you dust your tool and swing into actions then you will understand their is more to what Geometry posted.

Goodluck and happy fabrication.

All, how do we prevent the growth of algae inside our water lines.I mean the nipples.
It reduces the pressure in the nipple thereby reducing the amount of water consumption by the chicken.
Chicken stress themselves to get water by pecking the nipple severally .
Disease infestation from water likely possible because some amount of algae can be consumed by the chickens.
Pls any solution to this problem will be highly appreciated.

Odour from battery cage system is more than deep litter system. So its better to use deep litter in such enviroment

Because of the moisture content .In the battery cages its higher why in deep litter the wood shavings absorb the moisture.

pls why did you say battery cages can't be used?

I will not subscribe to point 1 and 2.
If you put proper environmental management in place you will manage your waste effectively and even convert the waste into energy for home and farm use. That I have good knowledge about it.
Point 2 .we adapt to different situations. So also animals .if you raise your day old chick in noisy environment it will adapt itself to that situation so when in cage it will have no effect on him.My first farm is with a residence once its fenced nobody will complain about what you are doing inside.
Remember people see with their noses when it comes to livestock facility building.
Most people believe farming is dirty so it will smell no matter what.

Obnelly, though the harsh heat do result in small sized egg. But with the sneezing you observed in some of them, your birds may be having complex CRD(most of them may not sneeze at all) which may also cause the low output, you can ask your vet about administering FLORFENICOL (hope i got d spelling) based drugs, from my read ups,its good for complex CRD,there is one marketed by zygosis. Also, check for lice, that is another culprit for low output, delouse if need be using pour on. Just my opinion.

Tabontabon thanks for that useful and educative info.I will do as directed. Thanks

Anybody using top feed for the past few months?
Kindly share you experience I have been having issues with my birds lately they eat like giant but produce small size eggs and production never go beyond 55-65%.
I have consulted my vet , we have administered series of drugs to no avail.
I tried using animal care feed on a row I have better production with good sizes but my headache now is that the chicken sneezes and they feeding rate isn't encouraging .
Pls share you experience and the way forward
.Anybody using livestock feed? I wanna know what I can give my chicken to improve their performance.

Poultry business is 30 percent theory 70 per cent practical. This is the reason why the business is being operated by every tom dick and harry.
