Pets / Re: Man Who Names Dog Buhari Is Guilty!!- Deputy Speaker, SU by observer777(m): 11:37am On Aug 26, 2016
I wonder where the "judgement" referred to by the writer emanated from because the dog- owner has just been released on bail. The dog- owner should not have been arrested at all. The police are saying that what he did was capable of breacing public peace; that is bull shit. The guy has every right to name his dog any name he likes; the police should tell us what law he has broken by naming his dog "BUHARI" As the for possibility of causing breach of public peace, NO PUBLIC PEACE WAS BREACHED, so what was his offence? All the police should have done was to call him aside and advised him to stop going around with the dog having "BUHARI" emblazoned on it. It would be interesting how this case is determined. The fundanental human right of dog- owner (and other Nigerians in similar situations) is at stake here. Does the executive arm of government want us to permission before we name our pets and are they going to be supported by the judiciary?
Crime / Re: NDLEA Destroys 21 Hectares Of Cannabis In Osun by observer777(m): 8:30pm On Aug 15, 2016
What a waste! They have been destroying these weeds for ages in this country without any corresponding decrease in usage by smokers; rather what we have is an increase in smokers. 21 hectares of cannabis farms is a lot of money. When it comes to issues like this everyone becomes a pastor or imam. The production down to the consumption should be regulated. But are they listening?

These analysis are hypothetical; many of the points raised are debatable. Trade between us favours Britain and what do the export to Nigeria? "Invisible item(s)" -please check our Balance of Payment. We will be better off trading directly with the EU. Nigeria should immediately withdraw her nembership of the Commonwealth. Our country is a goldmine that will attract investors from far and wide if we strenghten law enforcement, diversify our economy and bring down trade barriers. Agriculture and tourism alone can feed us in this country; we will be self- sufficient with great capacity to export. Nigeria is blessed.
Crime / Re: Ekiti Teacher Steals Pot Of Amala Over Unpaid Salary by observer777(m): 3:23pm On Jun 07, 2016
Let's go back to the regional system; develop your people and area with what you have rather than going to Abuja to beg for money every month. How many states in Nigeria can pay workers' salaries today? Very few! Imagine a secondary school teacher stealing a pot of amala to sustain her life and that of her children! This is happening all over the country only that this one made the "front page" So sad.

Education / Re: Queen's College Sexual Molestation Scandal : Accused Teacher Exonerated by observer777(m): 7:37am On May 14, 2016
Mrs Chinenye Okoye and her daughter should have come out to defend their allegation of rape against the teacher. These days it is dangerous to be left alone with many Nigerian women/girls without being accused of one molestation or another. They know that many people will spring to their defence without listening to the facts of the case. Mrs Chinenye and her daughter's aim was to destroy the reputation of that teacher and it is now left to him to take legal action against them to clear his name.

Crime / Re: Nigerian Student Is Cleared Of Rape In The UK (photo) by observer777(m): 7:17pm On May 12, 2016
How could she claim to have been raped when she was drunk? The boy probably did it but by admitting that she was drunk, whatever evidence she had became unreliable. That's a country where the rule of law prevails. In a country I know, people would be calling for the boy's head by now; many attention- seeking charlatans would ask for his castration. That is why that country is upside down. Let the law guide us in everything we do.

Car Talk / Re: Drivers' License Expiration Is Now "5 Years" Says Federal Government by observer777(m): 3:50pm On Apr 25, 2016
leo1234:
Is like those saying 2k per year don't have drivers licence.
I paid 11k(official price 6350, parallel market price 10k to 15k) last week after much bargaining just to renew my licence that did not even last up 3years.
My licence was supposed to expire by December but they reduced it to February because that was my birth month. By the time you subtract the time delayed before collection you will discover that it was even less than 2yrs.
God help Nigeria.

That is the point. It takes a minimum of 18 months to process the (3- year licence) and by the time you collect it you have about 14 months left on validity; last time I renewed, I had only 8 months left. What is the logic behind having 3 and 5 years expiry dates on driver's licenses in the same country? Why do we have to undergo the same processes everytime we renew i.e payment, lecture, capture and waiting for eternity to collect? Must our driver's license always expire on our birthday? Why? In this era of information technology all these could be done in less than a month. This 5- year thing is another fund- raising venture because you will definitely pay more than #10000 for it, definitely get less than 5 years validity and start all over again when you want to renew. It is a ruse. Very soon they will change the number plate again.

Stubborn thieves like Bukola will always end up disgracing themselves. He should have resigned when still he had opportunity to negotiate a soft landing thereby saving his father's name from being dragged in the mud. I mean the idiot has no case. High court judgment is just a start. Pinnick will be racing to supreme court with a stopover at Appeal Court and before then, Pinnick's four year tenure will be over.
He doesn't need to go to any court because FIFA will simply give NFF an ultimatum to re- instate Pinnick or face being banned. We have been here before. Some people never learn. Giwa lost at the Court of Abritation for Sports before; FIFA doesn't recognize civil courts. We are still smarting from Super Eagles' ouster from Gabon 2017 and it seems some people are already working against our qualification for Russia 2018. Dalong should resign as Sports Minister.

This foreign coach business. They should just give the job to Siasia and Amuneke because they have proved themselves. If they insist on a foreigner they should go for Claude Le Roy because he's an encyclopedia of African Football - the Super Eagles are the only top African team he hasn't coached, but I still prefer Siasia and Amuneke.
Politics / Re: Fulani-Herdsmen Shoot At David Mark In Agatu by observer777(m): 1:29pm On Mar 12, 2016
Let's be practical; we must legalize igbó, legalize prostitution and every Nigerian above 23 must be allowed to carry gun(s) to defend himself, family and property. Are the "authorities" not aware that these fulanis are fully armed? Other people should be allowed to be "fully armed" to defend themselves. The security system we are running has failed completely; we are even finding it difficult to rein in oil pipeline vandals! Armed robbers operate for hours in some areas without the law in sight!!! Nigerians should wake up.

Good response to Falana's double- speaking. Now, what brought about this unfolding drama is whether it is desirable to have a governor in office whose "election" to that office is now questionable given recent revelations. That Aluko guy has threatened to talk more. The Supreme Court should now re- sit to review the electoral issue in Ekiti. The Supreme Court should have given us direction when Prince Audu died in Kogi; but it kept quiet. The electoral robbery in Ekiti should be reversed. The fundamental basis of the law is to ENSURE that which is right. Aluko should be given adequate security so that his mouth can open wider. The people of Ekiti did not elect Fayose.

Power has a way of corrupting brilliant minds. Mr Kachikwu/FG should first of all ask the security people stationed there how those jerry- cans (filled with petrol) got to those huts; or were the security men complicit in the vandalisation of pipelines? The vandals are mostly from the Niger Delta and are rich and fully armed. How does Kachikwu expect hungry residents of Takwa Bay to confront those fully armed criminals? The solution he is prescribing is akin to what Babangida's government did at Maroko. Chasing away the poor from Takwa Bay will only benefit the rich who will build expensive mansions and estates there with stolen money. Security of oil pipelines should be left to the military and the police; that is why they are armed. Don't punish the poor for the crime of the rich.

Oh...his mothers nationality is now more preferable to his fathers? Just because its Nigeria?

Our government must resist this British madness promptly.

May God bless you for this observation. The boy was born in Germany and raised in the UK. The immigration policy that allows such treatment is patently racist. When Fidel Castro deported Cuban criminals to the US in the early '70s, he was roundly condemned in the West. That boy, despite his surname, is not a Nigerian. Our Government should reject him otherwise all kinds of hardened criminals will be dumped here.

Are you igbo smoker? Igbo is totally wrong
It make u sick
It makes u lazy mentally and physically
It makes people hate you
It causes addiction

You have not substantiated any of the points you made; who told you it is wrong, have you smoked it before? is it only igbó smokers that are sick and lazy? People like you hate smokers of igbó because of stigmatization. If care to know, I smoked for 18 years and know that it is not as bad as some people potray it. Do you know that it is prescribed to some people for medical purposes? In fact, Colombia's law was amended for this purpose only a few days ago. Do you know that medical doctors, lawyers, prophets, pastors, imams, alfas, military men/women, policemen/women, politicians etc smoke igbó and discharge their duties perfectly? The destiny of the black man has been held down by religion and tradition and this has badly affected our ability to think.

When are we going to start using our brains in this country? There is nothing medical or otherwise to prove that cannabis makes people run mad as we are led to believe. "Paraga" is more lethal than "igbó" yet it is not illegal. Nigerians should stop hiding behind religion and tradition and use their God given brains. The cultivation, harvesting and packaging up to sale can be controlled. Countries including the USA, where people think are now legalising cannabis for social use. NDLEA should concentrate on cocaine and other hard drugs that can destroy lives in an instant. Nobody is forcing anybody to smoke igbó. The igbó market is such that it will create substantial employment and generate massive revenue for government. Nigerians should think. Nigeria is the only oil producing country that imports same because some white people ADVISE political leaders to run down our refineries so that we can buy the refined products from them. This is the tragedy of the black man; inability to think. Do you know that some of the provisions in our police law date back to the colonial era?

I have just wasted my data. When these people were caught and paraded on TV back in August, they were pleading for leniency; now they are pleading not guilty in court. They should stop wasting the time of the judiciary since there are many criminals like them to be tried. In the meantime they should be held in prison custody until their case is determined. Some people are already defending them on Nairaland which is a shame. Criminals, wherever they come from, must be punished.

Enough of all these long lectures. Government should give them a referendum after which all of them should go back to where they come from (I know they will vote to exit). The borders should be clearly demarcated and they should leave with their mansions and businesses to the south east and south south. This can be achieved without shedding blood. We don't have to beg anybody; they will think they are important. Good luck to them.
Business / Re: How Foreign Bankers Lure Nigerian Elite To Early Graves by observer777(m): 4:31pm On Dec 01, 2015
A brilliantly concocted lie. The revealer who is "a top security officer" who spent "most of his career abroad" knows nothing about banking practice. Do you know the number of Nigerians who have stashed stolen money outside Africa? What is the percentage of those who have died of cancer and other ailments? Blame their life style. When the customer dies, the bank staff (not the banks themselves) share the customer's money with their rogue doctors. Just like that; when they are not in Nigeria? I don't blame him; he knows that Nigerians can believe anything because the black man can not think. They always "crave anonimity" when they want to lie.
