Education is not about making money and getting rich. It is about getting an enriched mind that enables you take quality decisions. You can be rich and still be ignorant and incapable of making quality decisions. A good education suppose to help open your mind so that you become capable of doing critical analysis of issues.

You got me wrong. I am not kicking against education nor putting riches above it. In a situation where you are disadvantaged, unsure and have uncertain situations staring at your face, it is best to weigh your options, choose wisely and determine what should come first at your scale of preference.

That education is very important should not be enough reason to assign it a position on the first line of that scale. And don't forget I mentioned that he later got his education.

Politics / Re: Why Did Tinubu Exclude FFK, Ganduje And Festus Keyamo From Ministerial List? by occeeeaan: 8:57am On Jul 28, 2023

The problem with subsidy is the price control that is needed for the thing to work. In other words, the price control maintained by DPR.

Now, do you see price controls in the GSM sector? No.

Even more so, the GSM sector was allowed to operate without a subsidy...which is why we had phone lines costing N10000 initially...which was too expensive for any sane person to buy then. But that is why we ended up having more and more investment...and today we have a whole infrastructure built up without government money.

Subsidy on petrol not only stifled profits , it stifled growth, and created a growing deficit in our budget year in and year out and spawned a government bureaucracy which ended up with a lot of corruption.

As for oil countries having subsidy...see Venezuela. Subsidy on fuel has so wrecked their economy, and their refining power, plus they lose billions more than we do to smuggling.

Iran has a huge debt problem from maintaining subsides on everything.

The only countries that can run subsidy on oil income are tiny countries like Libya, or countries like Saudi that have 40 million and produce ten times more oil than we do.

Nigeria, cannot run a subsidy because we never had enough money to do so. The corruption and looting only made matters worse.

Thank you for this submission. I loose interest discussing issues with people that are always quick to bring in comparisons to discussion. There is nothing wrong with comparing two things per se, just that 95% of the time, people jump into comparing things like national economy without looking at vital data like demography, GDP, PCI and otherwise.

If the supply exceeds demand, price must come down. If dollar keeps going up, it can simply mean that there are not enough dollars around and banks are just capitalising on the deficit to make money. The question now is what is the country doing to shore up its Forex supply?

True, but they will simply create artificial scarcity by hoarding whatever amount that is injected into the market. CBN have a lot of work to do, as the whole system is fantastically messed up with corrupt personnels.

Good policies are not out of reach, but the activities of the ill moral ones will frustrate the whole process of implementation.

Science/Technology / Re: Cassius: World's Largest Croc Still Growing As It Hits Stunning Age Milestone by occeeeaan: 4:00pm On Jul 03, 2023

Wow, I'm absolutely amazed by the news of Cassius, the world's largest crocodile, reaching a stunning age milestone! It's incredible to think that this magnificent creature is still growing even after hitting such a milestone. It's a testament to the resilience and adaptability of these fascinating reptiles.

I can't help but wonder what factors have contributed to Cassius's longevity and continuous growth. It would be interesting to learn more about the environmental conditions, diet, and habitat that have allowed this crocodile to thrive for so long.

Cassius truly represents the wonders of the animal kingdom and the mysteries that lie within it. I hope researchers and conservationists can study Cassius further to gain insights into crocodile biology and potentially apply that knowledge to the conservation of these incredible creatures.

Thank you for sharing this exciting news! It's a reminder of the diverse and awe-inspiring creatures that inhabit our planet.

So if waec cannot upload your results due to technical issues, but they gave you a hard copy, you will not accept it because you need to view what you have in your hand on a computer screen?

The very copy in your hands becomes questionable when WAEC loses credibility and some other people's hard copies doesn't match with what is in the database.

So you think university degree is useless maybe because you got one and 'found' it useless. Yours isn't useless not because instead of applying your mind in school, you are busy cramming stuffs. That your advice also came from an empty mind. Not is more rewarding than an having an educated mind, but an educated mind you wont get by cramming but by diligently applying yourself to knowing and there is no way you will have knowledge and won't eventually make a breakthrough.

There is actually sense in some parts of what he spewed. One of my cousins took this decision, and today he is a graduate and the richest in the family.

Education / Re: Anambra School, Mater Amabilis Secondary School Umuoji Wins SAGE Competition by occeeeaan: 9:59am On Jun 30, 2023

Congrats lads,Way to go... I'm proud to be from igwurube okodi umuoji. Umuoji is an ancient town known for its masquerade charade every march/April known as UzorIye. (Road to Oath). Their infamous towns has attracted investors like me to procure hectares of land for innovations and infrastructure urbanisation. A trip to my town 😌 will elevate your locale taste of bitter leaf soups , bread fruit meal, fufu , banga stew (ofe akwu). Make sure its prepared by a local not settlers. Before you leave

The word Iyi have dual meaning, which are Oath and Stream, just as much as the word Uzo, Door and Road. In Igbo language ''Road'' is a broad term that can be used for whatever passage medium you can think of eg. Rail, highway, path etc. In this contest Uzoiyi (not Uzoriye, forget about the letter R that is merely attached to native names like Chibuzor to anglicize it for whatever reason) simply means ''Road to the stream'', or the ''Stream Road'' if you tend to lean on matching it word to word.

Well, it remains fake news for now until it gets the approval. But I'll still consider it height of insensitivity on part of Govt if it eventually gets approved.

It's already a callous and an insensitive thing to do from the moment of conception talk less of the discussion and every other moves to establish and effect it. The implementation and endorsement by una president will be just an icing on the big cake.

Is it true that they are working on the 144% increment already? The answer is a resounding YES! So what did you say is a fake news?
