Politics / INEC Didn’t Remove Me As PDP Candidate For Aboh/ngor Okpala Seat, Says Agulanna by Ochendo1: 11:09am On Feb 23, 2023 |
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP House of Representatives candidate for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala Federal Constituency, Albert Agulanna has debunked media reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission has delisted him as a candidate for Saturday’s poll. The purported report had alleged that Agulanna’s removal by INEC followed the court order by the Appeal Court delivered in January. From the document presented to The Guardian by the Imo PDP candidate, his name still occupied number 11 on the list of INEC as contestants for the National Assembly election as at Wednesday, 22, February 2023. Speaking to the Guardian over the telephone, Agulanna described the report as fake, unfounded, misleading, unfortunate, mischievous and the handwork of those who are afraid of his capacity to clinch victory at the poll. “Go to page 248 IMO state, on the INEC website, you will see my name,” Agulanna said. He urged his teeming supporters, members of his party and constituents to disregard what he described as a fallacious report and turn up massively come Saturday to vote for him. He insisted that among other candidates, he is the most qualified, credible and people’s choice for effective representation and leadership services if elected. Also, a chieftain of the party, Chinedu Mbah told the Guardian, “INEC published their official final list for the 2023 general election as Engr. Albert Agulanna remains the PDP candidate. “Also, yesterday the PDP presented the party flag to him during their LGA rally in Aboh Mbaise as their authentic candidate. “Kindly disregard contrary information regarding this being spread by those who are not ready to go to the polls with the candidate.” It could be recalled that in January, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had nullified the Imo PDP primaries that produced Agulanna as a candidate and ordered that a fresh primary be held in the constituency within the next 14 days. Agulanna also approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the appellate court. The apex court, on Tuesday, resumed hearing on the suit and after adopting processes, adjourned the case till March 3 for a ruling. https://guardian.ng/news/inec-didnt-remove-me-as-pdp-candidate-for-abor-ngor-okpala-seat-says-agulanna/

Politics / Re: Imo: Mbaise Youths Say No Going Back On Support For Sam Anyanwu, Reject Ihedioha by Ochendo1: 5:38am On Jan 10, 2023 |
Sam daddy and Hope Uzodinma trying so hard to divide Mbaise votes, should go and research the history of why Mbaise union was coined. The bond can never be broken. Sam daddy who doesn’t have any single structure in Imo PDP even being the party’s national secretary is just evidence that he is a political novice. His blackmail tactics as being used as a tool by jittery politicians to try to stop Ihedioha can only be a mirage. Sam daddy going to Mbaise areas to buy endorsements after failing to high jack the party structure in the State simply means he hasn’t moved on from his bitter loss which dealt a huge blow to his ego. He has always been a loser from his 2nd term Senate bid to clinching the party’s ticket in 2019 and will still lose this year, mark it. 2 Likes 1 Share

If you are not from mbaise I can excuse your ignorance on mbaise affairs. Mbaise ppl will never vote against their own note this and for future references. The Mbaise people are a well populated and united people be it in politics or in any manner of association whatsoever. As for Sam Daddy, he can only dream by hoping to get endorsements. If you don’t understand how politics is played don’t just come here to type nonsense based on hearsay. Ihedioha controls the PDP structure in Imo State and only a fool would believe he will not be the flag bearer in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Imo later this year. If Sam daddy and his fellow jokers even being the National secretary is so sure of victory, they wouldn’t go to Mbaise nation with a population of more than a million to seek attention. Hear it today and mark it that Ihedioha is the next governor of imo state and wike can never ever have a say in Pdp ever again with or without Atiku emerging as president. Hope Uzodinma is a small fry and if he is so sure of victory he should stop the blackmail and the use of his boy Sam daddy. 1 Like |

The bill is also against mob action (jungle justice), dont know why no member has propsed such a bill until now. We are quick to criticise without comprehension... we accuse politicians of stealing our common wealth, and as a result it has rendered us poor... same people will not think twice to carryout jungle justice on a fellow poor Nigerian that stole cubes of maggi and we think we have not contributed to our problems. "Miyetti Allah, hear this: IPOB is not South-East Governors that you can threaten and get away with. We are the same IPOB that collapsed the #Zoo," the IPOB partly said in the statement. It further reiterated that its major task is to kill the Fulani murderers marauding as herders. "We are after every killer herdsman. We’re after you Fulani terrorists and murderers masquerading as herdsmen. "If you implement this your threat, it shall be your last. We no longer believe in turning the other cheek, it is now blood for blood and you will lose," the statement concluded. These words should be words on marble, serving as a warning to any closet self-entitled terrorist masquerading as herdsmen. IPOB is no joke, and does not take shit from anybody (just a reminder). 6 Likes |

[quote author=Enugupikin post=97846906]We know you want people to stop asking you which particular area you're from, but only you can advertise where you are from to others. All these is because Imo people feel their towns aren't popular and they need to be in a general well known town. Same can't be said of Enugu where someone will tell you I'm from ụdị, Ngwo, Nsukka, Nkanu etc and not just owerri, orlu and okigwe whereas they're many towns in there. Or Anambra which take pride in their town names, Nimo, Nibo, Nnobi, Enugwu Agidi, Awka Etiti, igbo ukwu, uli, Aguleri etc, towns here are even more popular than LGA Or Ebonyi where someone will say I'm from Afikpo, ohaozara, Abakaliki, ohaukwu, ishielu etc Or Abia where people are also proud of their towns like Abriba, ohafia, isuochi, Ngwá, umuahia, igbere, izu-Akoli etc Imo people should take charge of their origin and stop simply hiding under owerri, okigwe and orlu zones Are you okay? Which of those towns you listed there are more popular than say Mbaise, regionally, nationally and internationally. When you are anywhere in Nigeria and say you are an Igbo man, you are first asked if you are from Mbaise before you are even asked of your state of origin. So what point are you trying to make with your pointless post? 6 Likes |

Politics / Hope Uzodinma's Refusal To Pay Salaries: Imo Workers Resort To Suicides by Ochendo1: 5:55pm On Dec 20, 2020 |
10 MONTHS UNPAID SALARIES/PENSIONS: IMO WORKERS RESORT TO SUICIDES - How Mr. Hope Uzodimma is pushing Imo workers to untimely deaths - Over 100 deaths of Imo Workers/pensioners recorded in the last ten months - Orders Workers Home Without Ten Months Salary Arrears. Bleak and disillusioned atmosphere has become the order of the day in Imo State as the Supreme Court imposed governor of Imo State, Mr. Hope Uzodimma has refused paying Imo State workers and pensioners since he was fraudulently imposed upon the state by the Supreme Court. Since the inception of this fraudulent regime, workers and pensioners in the state have not received a single drop of salary. The only salary that the workers and pensioners ever received since the inception of this regime was in the month of February as it was the payment voucher already prepared by the PDP administration of Gov. Emeka Ihedioha in January before the court judgment of January 14th. Imo State workers and pensioners have lost hope and faith in the regime as many have resorted to taking their own life when suffering occasioned by non payment of over 10 month salaries knocked them very hardly and badly. Records have shown that there have been well over 100 death of Imo workers and pensioners recorded since the inception of the Hope Uzodimma APC led regime because many could not afford the luxury of basic drugs. The actions of the Supreme Court Governor by not paying over ten months salary of the state workers and pensioners have directly and indirectly accounted to loss of lives of these poor workers. Just a few days ago, one of the state workers who could no longer bear the pains of hardship took his own life and committed suicide in Emekuku in Owerri North LGA of the state. This is one out of tens and hundreds of other cases of death related to unpaid salary and pensions by the regime. To worsen their plight, the Supreme Court Governor has ordered that the state Secretariat be shut down starting from Monday and the workers have been sent home without any form of salary in the past ten months and without any kind of provisions to cater for them, most especially this festive season of Christmas celebration. May God Save IMO State in distress.

AmazonTopaz: Good.. we are making progress... good that you know you can't challenge a will Mrs Challenger.. Now back to ancestral lands: Scenario 1: if the land belongs to the government on what grounds are you going to challenge the sharing or takeover of the property if you don't have valid documents? Scenario 2: If the compound in the village is a shared compound with your dad and his brothers living communually and for example your dad is the first son and he still inhabits in his fathers house (obi) and your grandfather is still alive. If your father (God Forbid) goes to the great beyond do you think you or even your brothers have right to that obi no it goes to the next in line your uncle and his children... Contest that in court too Mrs. Challenger Scenario 3: Mrs. Challenger if you are the only heir and you have no son outside wedlock and you take your uncles to court for taking over your fathers house of which the land was given to him by their father without documents to back it up. Hope you can do well to explain to the courts that you should be entitled to inherit the property built on an ancestral land without the umunna backing you up and without valid documents. |

AmazonTopaz: Do you know what a will is? if you do go and research why they are not contestable except on certain grounds... For ancestral compound i wish you luck in the courts when you go to challenge that... do you know why when you go to the courts to legalise your marriage they ask you if you have done all the traditional rights or even the traditional wedding before you legalise your marriage lol! e get why... customary laws/ courts get jurisdiction. Even your so called almighty supreme court will refer to the customary law of the land in making their judgements... Even Igbo mothers will chase you out of her late husband's house if you dare contest the ancestral compound in court with the Opara if you know u know... ga jukwese! 3 Likes |
Culture / Re: Female Inheritance: Supreme Court, Igbo Culture In Head-on Collision by Ochendo1: 11:43am On Sep 08, 2020 |
Listen everyone and listen real good! A Supreme court cannot supercede the customary norms and traditions of an area as it is purely optional for the people of the area to accept, mend or expunge such norms if they so decide. Now, in this 21st century where i believe most people have embraced some form of education and are familiar with wills/trusts etc. With a valid one in place, properties, shares or monies can be shared according to the directives on the said will and no court or military force can change or administer otherwise the will except if the contenders can validly proof that such will was written without a sound/sane mind. It is important to note that a man/woman can choose to will his or her assets to whomever they want (ie. 100% can be willed to female child only or vice versa or even to charity) and cannot be questioned and can only be in contention if you can proof beyond any doubt that such was done without a proper frame of mind. Now traditionally as an Igbo man from Mbaise, (for those rejoicing) nothing changes as i can tell you with absolute confidence that the Supreme Court ruling is just a mere judicial/academic exercise based on global human rights as to female children also being eligible to inherit their fathers properties. I believe that exercise was based on the fact that there was no will in place for which a contention for the said properties arose. Now in Mbaise land and i belive the Igbo at large... let me tell you that a woman can never inherit her fathers property in the said country home of the man in question and are solely reserved for the male children as (no military action or force, court injuction or whatsoever can change that). In the case of no known male children, an adopted son can inherit the country home. Logically, the said females are free to dwell in the said abode for as long as they like if they are not married. It is important to differentiate between a contention for inheritance of properties cituated outside of an ancestral compound if there was no valid will in place and that of the man's (Obi) village house which are not contestable. Personally, i will "will" properties to both my male and female children in this ratio (80% for male and 20% for female, excluding individual monthly cash trust benefits that will go to all children) this is asumming that my daughters will be married outside and it is their responsiblity to go and build wealth with their husbands. In my opinion, the Supreme court ruling does not change anything as issues of inheritance are solely the prerogative of the said owner and the directives given by the owner of the will/trust should and must be carried out. 3 Likes 1 Share |
