Politics / Pdp Vs APC In Edo State by Ogilogi74: 8:46pm On May 31, 2017
THE LAST MACABRE DANCE OF PDP AND PASTOR OSAGIE IZE- YAMU.
Written by Ajanaku Alexander.

The judgement of Edo State Election Petition Tribunal came on a good Friday to the good people of Edo state. For the common man on the street and the electorate of Edo State, it was a re-affirmation of the people's mandate

After the landmark judgement which was well researched and delivered by some erudite judges headed by justice Badamus, the All Progressive Congress (APC) members jubilated because , the judgement was in conformity with the wished of the majority of Edo State electorates and the Party.

Surprisingly and to the consternation of all, the People Democratic Party (PDP) rejected the judgement with all sorts of abuses rained at the judges as well as accusing the Panel of bias. This unnecessary vituperation and accusation on the judges and the judiciary further shown the level of desperation by Pastor Osagie Ize-Yamu who before the election was held assumed himself a winner on facebook waiting to be swore in but was disappointed in reality when Edo People rejected him at the poll.

Despite the unimaginable and woefully defeat and loses suffer at the election and the tribunal , one will expect that POI, Dan Orbih and their facebook hawker would accept the fate and wholeheartedly accept the timely advise given to POI and PDP not to appeal the judgement by our revered Oba of Benin and other traditional rulers in the state.

It is now clear that POI, Dan Orbih and some of their supporters desperation know no bound in their quest to rule Edo state. This desperation was further affirmed by the recent publication when one Mr. Ifaluyi Isibor reveal the clandestine plan by the PDP to influence the judgement at the supreme court.

The act of desperation by this people is nothing but an absolute last Macabre Dance by POI, Dan Orbih and the PDP family which will finally lead to their political waterloo.

As the appellant court starts sitting from 30th of May, it is necessary and vital for the entire Edo state to stand up in prayer to defend the mandate they freely given to Governor Godwin Obaseki.

As we have seen since inception of this administration, Mr Godwin Obaseki mean well for Edo state and he need our prayer to succeed.

Obaseki inaugurates PPP Law task force

Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has restated his administration’s determination to enforce the Community Development Association (CDA) law, stressing that the long arm of the law would catch up with anyone found contravening any section of such law.

This was on Tuesday in Benin City where the governor inaugurated the committee, led by the
Chairman and former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

Governor Obaseki noted that the activities of the so-called CDAs not only posed challenges to the political climate of the state, but also retarded economic growth and development in the communities particularly and the state in general.

The governor also expressed displeasure at the CDAs’ flagrant disregard for the Rule of Law to achieve their selfish interests, explaining that the task force on Private Property Protection (PPP) law set up to enforce the law was one of the provisions enshrined in the CDA law.

The committee, meanwhile, was mandated to enforce the PPP law, monitor the CDAs and other group activities, ensure compliance with the provisions of the law, prohibit CDAs and other groups from selling landed properties or collecting any related fees or levies, and help apprehend or direct to the security agents any person or persons found contravening the law.

In addition, he directed the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Barrister Osarodion Ogie, to make available ten thousand copies of the law to the committee, which in turn would distribute them to all the communities so that nobody would claim ignorance of the law.

For his part, Arase said that the committee would ensure that the purpose of promulgating the law was achieved, while also appreciating the Oba of Benin, Oba Eware II for his passion and love for the people of the state in criminalising the activities of the CDAs.
