It is no longer an empire but in her heydays she contained Eastern yorubaland, Anioma communities, Lagos, Itsekiri, Urhobo communities, Esan,Afemai and it is in the books, Bradbury and others wrote about it. Empire rise and fall, it was the end of an era in 1897.

It is not 6 local government,it is seven by the way " local government dae pass local government" only Oredo will take off four local government in Ekiti state. Edo south as a senatorial district, did more figures In voters registration above Ekiti and Bayelsa state. That should tell you something. Why more local government was not created for the Binis is politics between the Esama of Bini, Aikhomu and the late Oba Eredieuwa. If not the Binis should have twelve local government now. It was because the Oba was afraid more kingdoms might sprout out of Edo south as a result of more local government, and insisted strongly that Aikhomu should let Edo south be, this was coming at a time when the Esama of Bini was strongly eyeing his stool

Igarra is not yoruba. Igarra (etuno) can be said to be in the same language group with Ebira or a dialect of Ebira. That one is influenced by a group does not make one a member of that group. There are no native Yorubas in Edo state, what you have are Edo groups who do not speak exactly mutually intelligible languages and adopted Yoruba as a lingua Franca for efficienct communication among themselves and also to communicate effectively with their neighbors who they are bothered by. This is prevalent in Akoko Edo because in that local government, there are seventeen Edoid languages which are not mutually intelligible.

He is a full blooded paternal Bini man, the link he had with Igbanke is only maternal. His name is Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, I am just seeing Chiedu for the first time, He certainly was given by his mother, we recognize his paternal ancestor here in Benin. His daughter is the present Egor Local government chairman here in Benin. Eghe Ogbemudia.
