What can be deduced from this?

Hey Guys,

I applied on the 12th of April via paper. On the 21st of May, I received a correspondence letter. On the 22nd, I received a message from VFS that my processed passport was ready for pick up.

I went over to VFS the next day, got my package and received only my passport. No refusal letter. My online account is on eligibility review.

I have been sending an e mail to Nairobi but no response yet. I have ordered for GCMS.

What to do next?

April 12. Got the mail on the 21st of May and Yes, Paper application.

Obehi44:

When did you apply and when did you get this email?
I am guessing it's a paper application and not online for your passport to have been with them, right?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Oladimejii(m): 2:10pm On May 27, 2019
I got a mail that my processed passport is ready for pick up. No medical mail nor upfront medicals. I had presumed it was a refusal and had prepared for the worst.

I got there today, picked up my package and tore it open to find my passport with the attached slip. Mind you my Online Account is still on Eligibility check.

The only message I received last week was correspondence mail.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Oladimejii(m): 10:17pm On May 22, 2019
I already ordered Gcms. I did immediately I got sms from vfs this afternoon. I'll see what the problem is this time and tackle again. I should be able to apply again before September. Thank you.

Caddy123:
I think get gcms notes and still consider what your mom said. What do vo want again? Logically, your doc are great. Also bro, prayers still work.

quote author=Oladimejii post=78621896]I applied on the 12th of April. It was a reapplication. In fact, my third application in 3 years. Got Correspondence letter yesterday. I already knew my refusal was lurking. I just received a sms from vfs saying my passport is ready for collection even though my cic online account is still on eligibility review.

Background.
B.Sc Geography. 3.80/5.00.
8 Years Work Experience as a Fleet and Transport Manager with the Lagos State Government.

I got admitted for an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Sciences at the NSCC COGS (Centre of Geographic Sciences). I opted for this program because it focuses more on the practical aspect of Geographic Information Systems which I am passionate about.

My first refusal was based on travel history and purpose of visit. I got my GCMS noted and reapplied last year. Explaining in my SOP why I was going for a Geographic Sciences program even though I have had years of experience in transport management. I even attached a letter I wrote at the when I first got my job asking for a change of cadre as I wasn't fulfilled.

I was refused again and the VO sited Travel history and ties at home and in Canada even though I am married with 2 kids as reasons. I applied again this year and tried to tackle the VOs concerns.

1. I travelled to Kenya September last year then Dubai.
2. I then applied for a Brazilian visa, it was approved so I visited Brazil for 5 days in November.
3. I applied for Schengen visa late last year, I was lucky it was approved. Visited a host of Schengen countries in February with my wife and 2 kids.
4. Visited Ghana for a training in February.

I was confident I had tackled recent travel history and applied again last month February.

Docs Submitted.

1.CIC forms.
2. Acceptance Letter
3. Lagos State Government employment letter.
4. Account Statement with 15m balance. With over 45m inflow over 6 months. (Salary account plus funds are from house rents of houses my father left behind when he passed).I attached evidences of these houses as well as tenancy agreements.
5. My company account statement with a balance of 8m and influx of over 30m over a period of 6 months.
6. My Company CAC certificate
7. My Company tax clearance.
8. 3 Land documents in my name.
9. My mom's account statement (Co sponsor) with 11m balance.
10. Mom's stocks and bonds as well as property documents of 2 shopping plazas that she owns.
11.My wife and kids passport data pages and birth certificates.
12. Degree and NYSC discharge certificates.
13. Marriage certificate
14. Lagos State Government Study leave letter.
15. Lagos State Government letter that my salary and allowances will be paid during the course of my study.
16. Previous visas
17. Lease agreement of house I'll be staying in Canada.

Cost of study is 10,590CAD. (Paid 2,000CAD) with balance due in August.
Living expenses 10,000CAD.

I have immediately ordered GCMS. My mom also thinks I should engage an immigration lawyer for a Judicial review but I don't know if that will work.

I'm devastated to say the least but I'm not giving up.

Me too.

ifyeez:
Received my bio correspondent today, without medical, guess we're all in same category.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Oladimejii(m): 9:53am On May 21, 2019
Thank you. Already braced. Whatever will be will be. God help us all.

Qudkom:

Ideally a biometric Validity correspondence should be received immediately after your biometrics exercise. But due to haphazard notifications on the cic portal it comes at a different time. However, the recent trend is if it comes after a passed medical then it is deemed positive and followed by Passport request most times amd if it comes before then it is maybe not a good sign( please this is based on recent trends)

I will ask that you stay positive and brace yourself for any eventuality.

Well, I have read on here that correspondence letter before medical request is likely a refusal. I just received my own correspondence letter too. No medical request. Guess it's only a matter of days before refusal mail. Well, I'll see how it goes. It's well.

Please what does it mean when you receive a Biometric correspondence before a Medical request, application is 6 weeks.

Saw this and I thought I'd share.

https://globalnews.ca/news/5267063/canada-international-students-visa/

Excerpt:

Most students have been coming to Canada in recent years from India and China. Fazley Siddiq, a University of New Brunswick professor who served as dean of the business department, said visas have been a headache for applicants from countries like Pakistan and Nigeria.

He added that the issue has been of particular concern in Atlantic Canada, where some universities are desperate for international students and “bend over backwards” to attract them.

Siddiq said the situation has improved for applicants from Nigeria, but those from Pakistan have continued to see more refusals — in some years eight Pakistanis received acceptance letters from his department but none could get a visa.

Classes begins: May 13th. MUN

I am so so grateful to God, don't even know where to start from. My approval is a miracle o. I never knew about this forum until 3 weeks after applying, whoops!! And when I started reading posts here I was so scared that I messed up my application, because I felt my documents I submitted wasn't complete, like affidavits of sponsor, certificates, and what made me scared the most was my sponsor..I used a third party sponsor, I don't even know the person, he just allowed me to use his SOA (but he was a kind man tho. I approached him that day and gave Me his SOA the next day) and my parent weren't financially buoyant at all.. I just used what I saw on Google and CIC website to apply o.
So when I started reading post here about the nairobi guys, home ties, third party sponsor...I was so damn scared , I lot hope already, I was just waiting for a refusal sef so I can reapply better and in peace, because the tension ehh no be here o.
A big thank you to @ Qudkom @ makano for your advice. @Dmerciful my personal VO ,i worried him as if he was the VO handling my application o..lol, he advised me to send another SOA (mine and my elder brother)via web form and mail to them even after getting biometric correspondence mail. thanks for your support and prayers only God can repay you.
Above all i thank God almighty for his favour and grace. I fasted and prayed earnestly, and God almighty manifested .
Thanks to everyone on this platform and to all the hopefuls, God will show his favour on your application. Amen.
You are next to testify.

Good evening everyone,

I submitted my Canada Study Permit Application sometime last week. I received a mail from VFS that my application has been submitted. However, I have been trying to link my application online to no avail. I also noticed my application was forwarded to the Lagos Visa Office and not Accra. My VFS tracking also starts with CALA rather than the usal GHAN. Do the Canada Visa Office in Nigeria now process Study Permits? Someone help, please.

Thank you.

No Co sponsor. My mum transferred what was needed into my account. Just have your dad transfer to your account. Include your dad's statement in your application as well as yours. You can use a co sponsor as well.

Thanks Dimeji, just to clarify, my dad basically will have just the money from the property sales ion his account. Can I work with this alone or did you get a co sponsor in your time?

In my case, my mum sold a commercial property towards funding my studies. She stated it in her letter as well as the affidavit of sponsorship. She included a copy of the receipt she issued to the buyer, a copy of the legal document transferring ownership of the property to the buyer.

She also included a copy of the cheque she received.. as well as her bank statement showing the transaction. She transferred what she was supporting me with and I also included my own statement.

Hope this helps.

femiart:
Hi guys, please I want to ask a quick question. My parent is considering selling a property that the money gotten from it will cover my tuition and upkeep with extras. Now the question is how do they show this in the sponsorship letter and it ll fly instead of account statement cos their account statement cant work at all becos they are just doing petty things, and getting a co sponsor is tight now cos they are only offering their account statement nothing more.

My dad does still have hectares of lands though if after we sell this said property. Please advice needed. Thanks
