Investment / My Life Changed When I Realized That I Don't Need Government Intervention by OLAKAD: 8:38pm On Nov 17, 2018
Do you all realize that companies are shrinking due to changing times?

I have been in a company that employs over 50000 staff and now they are downsizing to save cost and also latch on to the global trend of process automation where they maximize profit with less cost and less human intervention. This means fewer job opportunities in the areas most of us are looking like the Finance Industry, Telecommunications Industry, Oil and Gas Industry, etc which means more people out there without the supposedly good jobs.

The handwriting on the wall us that people should innovate and think out solutions to social problems like epileptic power supply, bad roads, insecurity, poverty, pollutions, etc otherwise the rate of crime, poverty, and social vices will rise.

My happiness is that people are waking up and smelling the coffee and are starting up great ideas to solve their frustration and making a decent living even though it is not easy especially in the Nigerian ecosystem.

I know of someone who was laid off from his bank job, He figured out that in European countries Nigerians love their food so he focused on supplying smoked fish to them. He met fish farmers, did his market research and started buying and smoking fish, he then would package and sell them to his contacts in Nigeria and ship abroad as well. This way he was able to stay afloat until now that he has broken even and is making a reasonable profit(more than what he made in the bank).

The good news is that the challenges we face in Nigeria are opportunities is we look well, these challenges will remain when we wait for a new government to come to change things for us, even if they do and we are not prepared as individuals we will still miss out on the opportunities.

I was in a trade fair that in September this year 2018 and I was fascinated by what entrepreneurs are making out of the available resources they find around them and I can say that they are the ones who will be financially stable I the nearest future. I saw packaged kuli-kuli, palm wine(non-alcoholic), Pap, fresh meat, etc see link for full video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRXLB0SGTBY

At the rate that people are hoping for a sudden change in their economic status by voting in a new candidate, it calls for a rethink and reorientation so we can help save people from future frustration.
Please for those of you who have good ideas, comment so people can see what they can do for themselves to position themselves well and add value to society.

I can't stand the rise in poverty, crime, prostitution, complain, stress anymore when we can actually create our desired lifestyles with the potentials we have.

I have started a vlog to show my day to day operations as a Nigerian entrepreneur who faces the good, bad and ugly hoping that someone will be inspired and build something great that we all need. I have decided to post every day. see links below

Bros which one be non alcoholic palmwine again? Nice post though
'Non-alchoholic palm wine'
I was also fascinated my brother, until the woman who owns the brand said that on tapping the palm wine fresh before it ferments it is bottled and branded. I tasted it and confirmed it. you can see the link to my video with her(Grand ma's hut) to confirm for your self.

Phones / Re: Why Are Most Phonemakers Removing The Headphone(Earpiece) Jack?? by OLAKAD: 2:39am On Nov 17, 2018
So guys this right here is the game of Thrones, sorry Phones.

Apple, Samsung, Tecno, etc all see themselves and know the direction the future is tending towards and no one wants to make the mistake of being left behind and sticking to their pride like Nokia and Blackberry did in the past and are now behind,

If the future says no earphone jacks then its a no-no for them.

They have all projected and seen what we probably will see after now and follow suit.

For me as a Techpreneur I an industry that evolves rapidly I always have to stay ahead by foreseeing the future direction and latching on to it with products and services that cater to the recent innovations otherwise Nokia and Blackberry will be my name grin( I Love these brands though)

I recently started a Vlog showcasing how I run my tech business in Nigeria so If you'd like to get an insight link up ASAP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dRo5_sUGNk

The above link is to share my ups and downs and hope some one gets value from it. HOLLA!

Wealth/job Creation with Entrepreneurship and Your Smartphone

Entrepreneurship is the solution to Nigeria's unending economic problems, if you will agree. My reason being that a creative and engaged mind has no time for doing irrelevant things that will not add value to him and his business. Entrepreneurship is a very interesting journey where we use what we have to create incredible things that will transform our lives for good and add value to the society.
The challenge mostly face is lack of know-how and understanding of the means to achieve our goals(that is if we have even set any).
If job seekers knew that their smartphones which they use every day can create a job for them, we will have less unemployed youths, if businessmen who are struggling to sell knew that their technology devices could drive revenue and clients for them, Nigeria would not depend solely on crude, rather the economy would be driven by smart students, executives, bankers, doctors... to shorten this-ENTREPRENEURS.

Business / Re: Selling Products Online From Nigeria by OLAKAD: 8:16pm On Jun 03, 2012
chrishenzo: Running online business in Nigeria is a daunting task. Ranging from payment security, delivery concern, etc. One of the main issue affecting Nigeria online business is that most of the people into buying and selling business don't have any knowledge of computer let alone selling their product through the internet.

In most advanced country, any business person advertises his/her product online in one way or the other but in Nigeria that is not that the case. Most believe in "Cash and Carry" mentality.

Regarding the delivery, personally I don't think it is a much problem. You can simply give the product/item to any of the buses like ABC, GUO, etc and the buyer will receive it. It is even more faster than DHL,UPS etc

The good news is that our organization provides both sellers and buyers to ability to run a smooth transaction on our platform. As a seller, you can upload an unlimited products on our platform, monitor your sales, get your own instant online shop, stay connected with your customers, business expose around the world, and much more

As a buyer, you don't need credit card to purchase an item, you can buy from any where around the world, you receive your goods before money is release to the seller, cancel your order when seller fails to deliver your product, smooth transaction with the seller, negotiate price, and much more

To get start visit www.chrisvicmall.com

@chris nice post you have here, u talk from experience. speaking of payments, delivery and collection; how would 1 buy without a credit card, also how economical and efficient are indigenous transport services like ABC, etc compared to the likes of DHL, UPS, etc. would 1 make good profit selling products in Nigeria considering all challenges? would u encourage Nigerian to do business on-line?
Business / Re: Selling Products Online From Nigeria by OLAKAD: 2:30pm On Jun 02, 2012
80kobo: Get and customise a free shopping cart like oscommerce or open cart if you are on a budget,
Add an SSL certificate to your site
Integrate online payments, voguepay, cashenvoy or eyowo if you are on a budget too,
Get a UPS or DHL account or arrange with a close by courier service for prompt delivery
Use the money saved from the cheaper alternatives listed above (I would charge at least 350,000 doing 1-3 above for you) and blast relevant adverts everywhere.

nice one sir
how would clients in remote areas in the country be reached when they place orders?
