Sir, we all know the job of a security guard is one of the riskiest. Reason being that if armed, the guard posses a serious threat not only to the success of the operation, but to the safety of the executor as well. From the day Onofiok Luke started making the reelection bid of Udom Emmanuel his personal business, I knew he had exposed himself to a high level of risk. Few months past, it is playing out exactly as I had predicted. Why am I saying this? Simple! We all know the guy called Onofiok has done so well in public service - a fact even you cannot deny. And that has earned him a huge political capital, such that without having to openly campaign or declare support for anyone, his body language alone, if tilted to the favour of the person, is enough to earn such person support and followership.

Since last year, when Onofiok Luke made allegations about you offerering him a whooping N2bn to join you to the broom party, I have taken time to investigate the claims and found out it was true. The offer, according to very reliable sources, was supposed to give the speaker an advance payment of N1bn to share N50m each to twenty house members, while the other N1bn was to come upon completing the job.

That Onofiok Luke rejected your offer does not require any investigation to prove. Aside telling the public about it, the consequences of turning you down are glaring on him. If he has not told the public about the strings you are puling to ensure his very bright chances above all opponents contending with him for the house of representatives seat for Etinan federal constituency ends up a waste, there are people who already know.

There are a number of politicians you thought would defect along with you, but who readily bade you goodbye and even celebrated your exit for your former party. They also count among those you either made or who befitted greatly from your administration. Why then did you choose to focus all the strength of your re-acquired power on Onofiok Luke? You defected from the party that made you – the same party whose platform you stood to acquire the ill-gotten wealth you are boasting of today, and claimed you were only exercising your right to any political affiliation and association of your choice. Granted, the right is yours and no one can deny you of it. But why have you been killing yourself because someone else exercised the same right?

Whoever told you that sponsoring lies in the media against Onofiok Luke could make him run to you, had given you the worst advice of your life. I believe you have been informed that from the first series of campaign they launched against him in the media, labelling him an ingrate, those media urchins you habour in your gatehouse have graduated into full-fledged lies, even extending the likes to his mother. Now that your job has graduated to this level, has anyone yet reminded you that your background did not have a record that will be pleasant to the ears, and that story will so disgusting and humiliating if narrated into public ears? Has anyone yet reminded you of why you had to exhume the skeletal remains of your long dead and buried mother to perform a second (ceremonial) burial?

If I may ask, what has Onofiok said about you and your reign in the state that is not true? And why have you not told the public clearly (at least, through your media rats), where and how he lied in all he has said so far, rather than resort to malicious lies against him and his family? All I have read from your e-rats, is how Onofiok insulted you and your wife. How, if I may ask, has that proven his statements wrong?

Without having to be told by Onofiok, do we not know already about the atrocities and criminalities that characterized your reign as governor? Did we not live in this state together when you fingered the financial coffers of the state and stole every fund you could lay hands on, incited blood brothers and sisters against each other, just to disunite them to the advantage of your greedy and insatiable quest for power? Do we need an Onofiok to tell us all these things we already know? Or do we need him to tell us that your defection to your current party was for no other reason other than the fear of federal might, and a greater fear that you had financial misappropriation questions at the EFCC to answer, and nailing you would have been very easy?

In all honesty to God whose presence you stand to lift those hypocritical hands, can you deny not driving with Onofiok Luke in your car shortly before your defection, during which you told him that the party at the centre has concluded plans to rig all PDP candidates out in 2019 because the president was angry with Governor Udom Emmanuel for chairing and assisting his party during the last guber elections in Ekiti? Reason you wanted to defect because you will not be able to stand the federal might? Can you deny confessing to this same Onofiok that your high blood pressure ailment will kill you if federal might comes against you. When you confessed your chicken heartedness to the speaker, did he not tell you to your face that you were acting like a coward? So what is it that he said in your absence that he will not be able to say to your face? Can you also deny the N2bn you were collecting from the governor on a monthly basis, and how you nearly turned everyone against the governor because you never allowed the man get to meet with other stakeholders except through you? And only the few people who agreed to worship you got your approval to meet the governor and have cause to be part of the system. Were you not also trying to compel the governor to make enemies with your enemies, even when he had no personal issues with them?

One thing that has obviously eluded you knowledge is that if there were people who saw the need for you to free the governor from your greedy demands, Onofiok topped the list. So if God, in His due time, created an event that threw you out of the boat to calm the storms that were building against the governor and his party, it was merely a call for celebration to the speaker and others you declared enmity with, even when they wronged you in no way. If anything about your defection provoked him, it was your secret dirty plots against him and your treacherous acts against the governor who gave in all he could to protect you from the several attempts by your criminal past to hunt you down.

While understanding that your hatred for Onofiok Luke did not begin today, it is a reckless insult to the sensibilities of Akwa Ibomites for you to ever think that 2015 of just yesterday can be so easily forgotten that you could not as little as caution your baby e-rats against ever giving you an ounce of credit for what has become of a man whose political career you and your heartless, opportunist wife did everything physically and spiritually to destroy. From sponsoring an opponent from his place to deny him party ticket, to attempting to snatch the same ticket he won on grounds, you even went as far as refusing to approve funds for the party to support him in the general election. To you, it did not matter if your party lost that seat to the opposition, as long as it will not be Onofiok Luke. You did not stop there. After God used men to support him to victory, and he came out most favoured to be the speaker, having won 18 out of the total 26 members to his side, the devil in you appeared again, used the secretary to government you planted in the present administration to abduct the assembly clerk, her deputy and sergeant at arms and his mace, all in a bid to stop Onofiok Luke.

His crime? Nothing other than the fact that he dared to speak up against your power abuse and fetish practices and even went as far as exposing and blocking your attempt to steal N1bn of our collective wealth in the name Ibom Aviation. Aside this, you were bone-marrow scared that he will come to seek revenge for all your evil plots against him. But against all your antics, were you not alive when God at His appointed and safer time, turned events back in his favour? And against your fears, however, this God fearing and well raised victim of yours had long grown beyond such petty hate. He had long forgiven you, even when there were no signs he would ever be speaker again. But being the devil that you are, that was never enough to teach you any moral lesson. Until your defection, you did everything possible to get the governor to publicly declare Onofiok’s opponent as the man who will get the party ticket, only that the governor kept resisting your attempts to drag him into your evil plot. Despite being sent to the belly of the fish you are presently in, you cannot even hold back this hatred. You keep plotting evil against this one man and vowing to use federal might to stop his election, the same way your wife struck her hands on the chest to vow that he will only return to the house over her dead body. Today, Onofiok Luke is barely six months to end of that return trip to the house of assembly, but being the true Christians that we are, not Christians of Deuteronomy and salt water, we cannot even wish her dead. We had long prayed God to forgive her ignorance.

I do not even consider it interesting discussing the claims of helping Onofiok Luke return to school. If you had such powers, you would have first returned yourself to school to pursue the law programme you started to a reasonable end. Onofiok Luke is a recognized member of the Nigerian Bar. Can you boast of same? Once upon a time in this state. You were being addressed as Barr. Godswill Akpabio, until the real members of the profession stood up to publicly deny you, which we are till date yet to see or hear you prove them wrong.

Throughout the few two years I spent in the University of Calabar, I never heard your name mentioned anywhere for once. But the name Onofiok Luke was known to me even before I joined the University of Uyo for a degree programme. That is an example of how to leave a lasting legacy behind. With who we have known you to be, there is no doubt that were you be in Onofiok’s position, you would have even suggested a higher amount of fee increment, so as to increase the bribe that was offered him. Little wonder why the firm character of Onofiok remains a mystery to you.

One thing you must understand is that you were only a channel used by God to make him. And that cannot in any way put you in the place of God in his life. Onofiok Luke is a God fearing Christian who understands the bible and commandments of God beyond the book of Deuteronomy. Hence, cannot undermine the interest of God as contained in Exodus 20:2. If God did not allow the children of Israel to worship Moses in His place, simply because Moses was the channel, then do not expect any sane man or woman to make such mistake. Only a fool can undermine God. Sadly, Onofiok Luke is not one. He has even been doing well to appreciate you in private and in public, after all, if you had shown such appreciation to your predecessor who did you more good, who knows if this state, and perhaps the world at large would have been better than it presently is?

On a final note, you are only lucky to have been part of a society where public thieves are celebrated by people whose stomachs suffer the pains of constant hunger and as such, can praise whoever feeds them with crumbs. For characters like yours in saner climes hardly appear before public eyes without being stoned with rotten eggs and even the biblical Stephen kind of stones. But that notwithstanding, finding yourself in a society where moral values are less regarded does not change who you are - A COMMON THIEF.

First Lady's visit to Akwa Ibom: APC, Akpabio Plan Hijack of Protocol to Blackmail State Government

The struggle for the soul of Akwa Ibom State come 2019 is becoming dirtier with a planned hijack of protocols by All Progressive Congress (APC) from the State government of the visit of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari to the State on Friday.

The office of the First Lady had written to the State Government informing it of her visit to the state and the government is said to have made adequate arrangements befitting of her status and office. Suddenly, former governor, Senator Godswill Akpabio is alleged to have taken his personal vehicles to the DSS office in Uyo preparatory to the visit of the wife of the president.

"We have been rightly informed of this plan by Senator Goodwill Akpabio to deliberately blackmail the State Government by bungling the protocols of this visit, embarrass the State Government by creating a climate of odium and despair and thereafter rejoice over such failure. We will resist that", a government house source said.

"The First Lady's Office wrote to inform us of her visit to the State and it's customarily and statutorily given that the State Government would provide all arrangements irrespective of what she is coming to the state to do, even if it's a private visit.

"It's even ironic that the Directorate of State Service, perhaps owing to inadequate briefing on acceptable protocols on such visits, has acceded to keeping vehicles from a private citizen or even a political party and other protocol breaches", he said.

"Whatever she is coming to do here (Uyo), she remains the guest of the State Government. We have informed Abuja accordingly. And she knows how it works that is why she rightly wrote to inform us that she will be coming to the State tomorrow (Friday).

"These people should know the limit of political grandstanding and separate rascality from established protocols", he said

APC Appeal Committee: How Nsima Ekere ferried money into hotel with his G-Wagon to bribe members – Eye witness

More facts have emerged from Saturday’s arrest of Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship candidate and Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr Nsima Ekere in Abuja and his Special Assistant on Security Matters, Mr Uyo Nathaniel by the EFCC at Serendip Hotel and Apartments at No 19 Nelson Mandela Cresecent, Abuja.

Ekere, it was learnt took some bags of money to the hotel in order to bribe members of the APC Appeal Panel who were collecting petitions and testimonies from aggrieved aspirants of the party who besieged Abuja with complaints over the conduct of the party’s primaries held earlier this month.

A staff of the hotel who spoke to our reporter on grounds of anonymity claimed that Ekere personally drove the money to the hotel in Abuja using a G-Wagon and supervised it offloading.

“Its true the EFCC raided the hotel. What happened was that at about 12.25pm on Saturday, Nsima Ekere drove himself into the hotel in a G-Wagon jeep and bags which we later learnt were filled with dollars were removed from the car to one of the rooms on the second floor of the hotel. Moments later, apparently based on a tip off and we suspect it was also from one of his own aides, EFCC operatives suddenly took over the hotel and prevented everyone from Akwa Ibom State from leaving the premises”.

“His aide, one Nathaniel, took the money to the room since no committee member was ready to collect it. Some Akwa Ibom APC aspirants who were defending their petitions before the committee got to know what was happening and they started shouting ‘God will punish you. God will not allow you to be the governor’. Nsima’s ordeal worsened when the Committee Chairman on seeing bags of money started shouting and screaming, “My integrity oh. My integrity oh. My integrity oh. Don’t come and stain me oh. I don’t want any stain oh. Come and take your money oh. Please come and carry your money oh”.

Ekere got visibly angry at the stare the petitioners caused and started accusing the Appeal committee of trying to cause problems for the party”. As at midnight of Saturday, our source said the EFCC detectives were still analysing the hotels CCTV footage to know if any one collected the bribe. “All Akwa Ibom people who lodged in the hotel were barred by the EFCC from leaving the building”, said the source.

WE THE UNDERSIGNED WOULD LIKE TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION TO

A statement made by Senator Godswill Akpabio while speaking at the funeral of his grandmother-in-law in Enugu on Saturday, 18th of August 2018. In his words, “IN 2019 WARSAW SHALL SEE WAR AND WAR SHALL SEE WARSAW.” He repeated this statement when a political aspirant visited him for consultation shortly after that and also in the glare of the public during his mobilization rally at Ibom Plaza, Uyo.

The statement which was widely reported in the traditional and online media; is a threat by the Distinguished Senator to take over reins of power in Akwa Ibom State in the same manner the Germans overran Warsaw, Poland during World II tragedy.

It is therefore worrisome that 73 years after that sordid tragedy in Warsaw, a former Governor and serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would publicly declare his intentions to visit such calamity of the peace-loving people of his homeland.

Though, many who are not familiar with the self-styled strongman of Akwa Ibom politics may not accord any serious attention to the statement, the citizens and residents of the state who witnessed the reign of terror that characterized the eight years tenure of Senator Akpabio as Governor from 2007 to 2015 cannot take such utterances as empty threats.

Recall that following the recent change of political allegiance to the All Progressive Congress (APC) by Senator Godswill Akpabio, the unfolding events have increasingly taken an alarming dimension with spates verbal missiles that are capable of provoking violence and civil disorder being hauled publicly.

Against this background and considering the historical antecedents of Senator Akpabio, we wish to state as follows:

1. That the statements made by the Senator Godswill Akpabio in full glare of the press is a declaration of war on the good people of Akwa Ibom.

2. That although we know the Senator does not tolerate opposition of any hue or shade and goes to any length to attempt to exterminate his political opponents, the good people of Akwa Ibom State never expected him to descend to this all-time low of declaring war on them in the pursuit of his political goals.

3. That having declared ‘war’ on the people who gave him the opportunity to be their governor for eight years, Akpabio should not be taken for granted. A common slogan during his administration was ‘what money cannot do; more money can do’. For him, every and any opposition must be crushed by all means. 4. That Akwa Ibom people, whose majority are more at home with the PDP are not with Akpabio in his latest political adventure, as such, it is not impossible that desperate politicians working with him, may be mapping out violence strategies to snatch victory during the 2019 general elections. Rumors are already rife that arms and ammunitions are being stock-piled to unleash mayhem on the people.

5. That the rumors may not be unfounded, given that during the rally hosted at Ikot Ekpene Stadium in honor of an APC governorship hopeful, Mr. Nsima Ekere, shortly before Akpabio’s defection, the organizers presented real guns and daggers as souvenirs to the honouree. The presentation was made in front the hundreds of people in the arena and the millions who watched at home with dismay on the live national broadcast on the Nigerian Television Authority Network service.

6. That possibly, to prepare grounds for the launch of the mayhem, the Media Aide to Senator Akpabio, Anietie Ekong raised a false alarm on the social media about gunmen attack on the Ukana, Essien Udim residence of the former governor.

7. That the Police Report which dismissed the alarm as false underscored the belief of the people who saw through the lies almost immediately it was posted on social media. Akwa Ibom people are conversant with the political antics and evil capabilities of Senator Akpabio.

8. That the only troubled spots in Akwa Ibom State; in the last three years, are in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District where the Senator Akpabio comes from.

9. That the Senator has never supported efforts by the state Government’s efforts or made efforts to address the security situation in the area which he represents in the senate.

10. That while social and economic activities in most of these areas are almost at a standstill by menace of the militants, the Senator has been freely patrolling those areas with his campaign train. It is therefore not inconceivable that the militants may be the Senator’s foot soldiers which his is grooming to unleash terror on the rest of the state.

11. That the people of Akwa Ibom State are all living witnesses to the brutal and gruesome manner Senator Akpabio framed up a Commissioner; Prof. Chris Ekong that served during his administration and detained him for over 3 years on cooked up murder charges.

12. That Akwa Ibom State, under the administration of His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has since 2015 become a paradise of peace and security for the people, as opposed to the tenure of Governor Akpabio, when kidnapping, murder and sponsored violence were the order of the day.

The list of the many innocent Akwa Ibom citizens who fell victim of the ineptitude of that administration is still in the public domain. The many scares are still visible, families who lost their loved ones are just recuperating. It will a tragedy of a state to allow Senator Akpabio take us back into the dark days.

13. That while we do not contest the fact that as an individual, Senator Akpabio reserves the right to associate with whatever political party he chooses, we are worried that his body language, utterances and activities may not only compromise the peace of our state, but also reverse the socio-economic gains of the last three and a half years.

14. That under Governor Emmanuel, the economic fortune of our state has soared to a new height, with international investors setting up industries that are beginning to provide employment for our teeming youths and other hitherto unemployed citizens.

15. That owing to the conducive environment, engendered by the Udom Emmanuel administration, a National Bureau of Statistics report rated Akwa Ibom as the second largest destination for Foreign Direct Investment in Nigeria.

16. That the war-cry of Senator Akpabio is capable of jeopardizing such investments and cause the confidence of investors to wane. This could lead to an investors’ flight from Akwa Ibom State.

17. It is also not inconceivable that Senator Akpabio is seeking to destabilize the economic and socio-political serenity of the state in a last-ditch attempt to cover up illegalities perpetrated during his 8 years tenure as governor.

18. Recently, recently the Senator made news headlines, for not only spuriously award the contract for the construction of a 4-Star hotel at over 100% the actual cost but appropriating 95% of the contract sum thereafter abandoning the hotel at 64% completion. This only one of such obnoxious transactions perpetrated by Senator Akpabio’s Administration.

19. That since our dear Senator made a personal choice to jump ship in a treacherous manner, we appeal that he should please not promote violence and civil disobedience in in a state that has enjoyed comparative since he vacated office.

20. That the sheer number of people who have come out to condemn his recent political move as ill-advised should at least give him an inkling that he had moved over to a wrong path, in the context of Akwa Ibom polity.

21. That as Akwa Ibom and indeed Nigeria prepares for the all-important 2019 general elections, the least that the people expect from a Senator of Chief Akpabio’s standing, is to contribute, in words, deeds and influence, to the peaceful conduct of free, fair and acceptable elections.

22. The utterances of Senator Akpabio are already generating unnecessary tension and heating up the polity of Akwa Ibom State. We passionately appeal to the International Community, United Nations Organization, The African Union, the Commonwealth of Nations, the Diplomatic Corps and World Leaders to:
 Thoroughly investigate the activities of the Distinguished Senator while in office and during his tenure as a serving senator
 As a matter of urgency and necessity heighten surveillance on the activities of the Senator.
 Publicly speak up against the crisis he is brewing against humanity in Akwa Ibom State.

23. We know that Senator Akpabio would stop at nothing to gain victory, even if it means breaking the society and setting it on fire. The peace-loving and hospitable people of Akwa Ibom count on your timely intervention.

The dastardly act has commenced with the destruction of Pro- government billboards along the Uyo airport road!

This is part of Senator Akpabio’s plot to push the People Democratic Party (PDP) faithfuls into carrying out retaliatory actions but PDP being a peace loving party has refused to be dragged into such guerrilla tactics.

Let’s say no to this renewed attempt by Senator Akpabio to plunge Akwa Ibom back into the dark days of violence, kidnapping, killings and wanton destruction of lives.

Akpabio praised himself as the greatest Akwa Ibom politician ever liveth but this photo has shown clearly that the former Senate Minority Leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been reduced to nothing by the entire Akwa Ibom populace, in his State where he was once seen as a god.

SAYS PMB INSISTS THAT ELECTIONS IN AKWA IBOM MUST BE FREE AND FAIR

AS AKPABIO PROMISES TO FUND 2019 ELECTIONS IN THE SOUTH SOUTH

The Presidency has debunked the insinuations by the Akwa Ibom APC that they will use Federal might to defeat Mr Udom Emmanuel and the PDP come 2019 elections.

Reacting to this claims by the feeble APC in Akwa Ibom, a source in the Presidency who is very close to the President has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in the Governorship of Akwa Ibom State because according to him, he has a very cordial relationship with the seating Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel.

The source disclosed that some APC bigwigs from Akwa Ibom has been pressurizing President Buhari not to keep the elections on ground as the PDP will sweep it in a landslide victory. On his part, the President said that no one will coerce him to allow rigging in some parts of the country especially Akwa Ibom State where the current Governor is doing very well.

The source also disclosed that President Buhari is very pleased with the performance of Mr Udom Emmanuel. He further disclosed that the hierarchy of APC in Akwa Ibom State knows that sometimes the President stays on phone call with Udom Emmanuel until some of them gets angry.

He further posited that President Buhari is not very happy with the NDDC MD Obong Nsima Ekere because of the way he handled the NDDC which there are so many petition on his table concerning Ekere.

He also exposed that the immediate past governor of the the state and former Senate Minority Leader Godswill Akpabio however promised to fund the 2019 elections in the entire South South region of the country if the President could only assure him of his support so as to deliver APC in the elections.

But the plea by Akpabio met a brick wall as PMB said he is not interested in such an offer, stating that at the right time, they will give instructions on the particular states they are interested on but certainly not Akwa Ibom.

The first sign of what to expect from the forthcoming Akwa Ibom APC Governorship primary emerged on Friday night with the party's two leading aspirants for the office of Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere and Senator J.J. Udoedeghe having a hot exchange on facebook.

The first shot came from the Managing Director of NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere. Speaking through his aide, Michael Matthew, Ekere accused Udoedeghe of being sponsored by Akpabio and Governor Udom Emmanuel to frustrate his governorship aspiration.

Ekere said, he has proofs that Udoedeghe is financially induced to frustrate APC Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

"Udoedeghe is paid monthly stipend by Governor Udom Emmanuel to wretch havoc in the APC. If APC should dare as to allow this man (Udoedeghe) contest even the primaries, I will personally write to President Mohammadu Buhari with strong evidence to support my claims. Udoedehe was paid monthly through Senator Godswill Akpabio and I will present and make proofs public".

The NDDC Managing Director suggested that his major opponent, Udoedehe should be suspended from the party and made to apologize publicly for his actions.

"I am of the opinion that the party primaries should be by consensus to eliminate the plans to use moles in the party like Senator Udoedehe to destabilize the party during primaries".

But the Uyo born Senator and APC Governorship hopeful will not take such nonsense. Speaking through his aide too, Mr Solomon Johnny, Editor In Chief of Global Concord newspaper, Udoedeghe challenged Nsima Ekere to show prove as alleged or forever remain silent.

"You sound very idiotic. Thanks to Heaven you say you "have proofs that Senator John Udoedehe is financially induced to frustrate APC in Akwa Ibom State chapter". Great guy! It's not speculative. You have "proofs", not even one but "proofs". Please tender them as evidence so that iko akwene (Case close). I give you up to morning to so present your proofs and evidences or burry your face in shame", Udoedeghe thundered.

"Senator John Udoedehe is not "paid any monthly stipend by Governor Udom Emmanuel to wretch havoc in the APC. It is rather your boss, Obong Nsima Ekere who is determined to kill the APC by his inordinate greed and ambition. He controls nine states and budget of Akwa Ibom State in nine places. If it is money and power he seeks, the office of MD of NDDC has fetched him that in nine places. So why can't he rest and allow other party members to run and contribute in developing the state and party? Is he the only person in the party"?

The former Minister accused his opponent of abusing all party conventions to make sure he imposes himself on the party as her candidate.

"That is what is wrecking havoc in the APC and not Senator John Udoedehe who is pushing his aspiration peacefully despite the provocations of endless sponsored blackmails such as this", he warned.

Udoedeghe said Obong Nsima Ekere can not stop him from standing and winning the governorship nomination in Akwa Ibom State.

"I'm sure you are aware that Uyo Senatorial District does not trust Obong Nsima Ekere one inch and would never want to wait another eight years without power. I'm sure are also aware that Oro nation have concluded plans to back John Udoedehe up and take a running mate offer so that after John Udoedehe, Ibibio of Uyo Senatorial District shall support Oro to produce a governor. It doesn't matter what conspiracy Godswill Akpabio does in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District for Obong Nsima Ekere. We are going to beat him in the primary hands down. The equation favors John Udoedehe to the extent that it neutralises whatever conspiracy the elders in APC have entered against him. So don't just wait", he said.

To show how ready he is for the fight, Udoedeghe advised Nsima Ekere, "Start writing the letter and send it to the President whether that can help you in any way. Udoedehe is standing and winning the nomination. No consensus and no delegate nomination. Akwa Ibom State has adopted option A-4 and that where we stand".

Udoedeghe said the call to suspend him by Nsima Ekere is stupid.

"Suspending Udoedehe? For what? The only man right now who ought to be suspended and expelled from the APC is Obong Nsima Ekere. He is a contract artist. He is using his privilege position as MD of NDDC to oppress and scam People to his governorship ambition and has been the reason so many party members are leaving the party in protest. I have personally spoken with Dr Udoma Bob Ekarika, DG John Udoedehe governorship campaign in 2011; Obong Emmanuel Obot, Former member representing Uyo Federal Constituency and APC Senatorial candidate for Uyo Senatorial District in 2015; Chief Sunny Udom, Obong Umana Okon Umana campaign manager in 2015, Elder Emmanuel Udo, immediate past deputy State Chairman of APC. These men, among others, left the APC strictly because of Obong Nsima Ekere's handling of party affairs and deception. If APC ever set up a committee to review why her members are quiting in droves, they would have realised that Obong Nsima Ekere is a big problem to the party and that is the man who should be "suspended and made to tender a public apology to the party" and not Senator Udoedehe. Obong Nsima Ekere is lucky that virtually all the party leaders in Akwa Ibom State are broke and feeding from his "benevolence". Being that he pays all of them, they have reduced themselves to errand boy and no more elders and accordingly, cannot question his excesses and overbearing attitude in the party. That's the bane of today's APC in Akwa Ibom State".

"Take your opinion to the field. What makes you think that a consensus arrangement in this instant case can ever favor Obong Nsima Ekere? What makes you think that Senator John Udoedehe, Engr Efretuei, Bar Dan Abia can step down for Obong Nsima Ekere as consensus candidate? What reason can be advanced for these aspirants to step down for him? Is it that he has so suffered for the party and has not benefited from his investments in the party as Senator Udoedehe is claiming? What has Obong Nsima Ekere ever lost for the APC that could make it political expedient that other aspirants step down for him? Nothing! The elders shall NEVER be able to hand anybody APC gubernatorial ticket on a platter of gold. Whoever should get our ticket and merits it, must be a man or woman with a compelling antecedent of sacrifice, consistency, courage, vision and doggedness in APC politics that makes the cap fit him".

To show that he is battle ready, Udoedeghe said, "We are mobilising our men. We are sharpening our oratory and gathering our facts. We are going to be meeting face to face with the people and the available media. Trust me, we are going to dismantle your pack of cards in a matter of days. You are going to see it with your eyes that it has crumbled because your foundation is faulty. You guys are happy setting Obong Nsima Ekere up and taking his monies like water in the stream. You guys are playing him mugu and want him to loose the NDDC job. You guys are ugly in mind. I pity him actually", Udoedeghe concluded.

The political atmosphere in Uruan has been suspended in a cloud of tension.

At about 8pm last evening, while attending a social gathering in the company of party faithfuls of Uruan extraction, the Uruan PDP chapter Chairman, (Prince) Obot Okon Essien was attacked by a team of thugs and mercenaries and left at the point of death, lying in the pool of his own blood.

As at press time, Mr. Obot Essien who was rescued by passersby is lying unconscious at a medical facility in Uyo, undisclosed for fear of a finish-up attack; having sustained several severe bodily injuries to vital body parts like the eyes, face, ribs etc.

This dastardly act which is rumoured to be sponsored by the incumbent Hon. Aniekan Bassey was perpetrated by a terror- squad that came in company of Mr. Okon Okon, the State Internal Revenue boss, a strong canvasser for the Aniekan Bassey aspirations.

The terror- squad which was headed by Mr Joe Obot, an erstwhile transition secretary in Uruan council transfered same aggression to others present, who sustained minor injuries too. Dr. Eventus Edem (a former Uruan Council Chairman), who was present at the scene narrowly escaped being lynched by the same propagators of terror.

Mr. Obot Essien who was attacked while making a speech, extolling the leadership virtues of Gov. Emmanuel, has been a target of pre-meditated attacks recently, because of his political stance on equity and fairness even as displayed in the just concluded party ad-hoc delegate elections; against the primitive practice of plundering the electioneering process against the peoples choices.

While the Aniekan Bassey's camp are jubilating over the sad event and adopting the recent "Warsaw" cliche, promising more reins of terror (even on Uruan Alert, a WhatsApp social media- pictures atyached), shock and apprehensions have enveloped the minds of the political class in Uruan-Inyang-Atakpo, as never in the history of Uruan has the political narrative condescended so low as to employ Machavaillan and bloodletting practices to terrorize the political landscape and coerce other credible aspirants and their supporters into submission.

This deployment of brute "Warsaw" tactics by the Hon. Aniekan Bassey's camp comes in the wake of targetted violence perpetrated against Mr. Ekemini Ukim, a supporter of a fellow HoA aspirant by the Ibesikpo- Asutan incumbent House of Assembly man, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko. These trends cast aspersions on the methodology adopted by these two incumbent HoA members, whose friendship in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly is not in doubt.

Little wonder that rumour mills the probability of these duo negotiating for slots in the opposition party. The question thus raised in the mind of the people is that of loyalty to the Gov. Udom Emmanuel's Divine Mandate by these two friends, when they exhibit tendencies, which are very averse to the governor's ideologies.

The vast Uruan populace calls on every authority and the State Government to mediate in this matter so as to arrest the new spate of terrorism that has been released on the Atakpo land by Hon. Aniekan Bassey, for injury to one is injury to all.

Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr Nsima Ekere, has been fingered in the violence that erupted last Tuesday, during the Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Uyo election where several were wounded and election matters destroyed. 


The violence also saw cultists and hoodlums invade the polling units with guns and deadly weapons even as ballot boxes and other election materials were destroyed. 


A source disclosed that the Special Assistant on Political Affairs to Nsima Ekere had met with them at a sit out on Ikot Okoro Road, Abak LGA on Saturday, 16th June, informing that his boss (the NDDC Managing Director) was interested in who becomes the SUG President.


Among those who contested for the prestigious presidential seat were; Robinson Dianabasi Eno, a 300 level student of Chemistry, in the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education, Emediong Ekanem, a 400 Level student from Faculty of Law and Abasiama James, 300 Level, Faculty of Arts. 


Others were: Theresa Nde and Emmanuel Ernest from faculty of clinical sciences as well as Ndianabasi Nkop, a 300 Level student of the Faculty of Social Sciences. 


The source disclosed that the strategy adopted by the Ekere camp was to distribute fewer materials to the faculties where the aspirants were loyal or likely to be loyal to the Governor of the state came from.


The entire Faculty of Arts received only one thousand ballot papers, which triggered anger amongst students. Same happened in other Faculties.


Sensing a defeat despite the strategy, cult boys were quickly drafted to aggravate the student's disapproval,  disrupt the process and give enough space for another plan to foist a candidate loyal to the NDDC boss. 


The sum of N500, 000 cash was said to have been shared to the different cult "families" engaged for the disruption of the exercise.


It will be recalled that the election into the Students' Union Government of the University of Uyo was Tuesday cancelled on the directive of the authority of the institution. 


The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Enefiok Essien had reportedly expressed concern over the conduct of the election and ordered that it should be cancelled


Fight reportedly broke out at the Town and Annex Campuses of the university, which disrupted the exercise.


Suspected cultists and hoodlums were said to have stormed polling units in the School, destroyed the election materials and made away with ballot materials with gunshots in the air.


Meanwhile, the Institution's Registrar; Aniedi Abasi Udofia, in a release has assured that a new date for the election will be made known in due course. 


The release urged staff and students to go about their normal official and academic businesses as arrangement has been made with security agencies for their safety.

Over 400 residents of Asanting Utit Ikpe in Ini Local Government Council on Tuesday received medical treatment as ImaBridge Africa (IBA) stormed the community on a free medical outreach.

ImaBridge Africa - a faith-based charity dedicated to building transformational relationships between people from dissimilar communities, has been in the state for over a week to provide financial and human resources for projects that empower the poor to eradicate the extreme poverty, promote gender equality, reduce child and maternal mortality and ensure environmental sustainability.

Ailments treated by the US-based team with support from medical volunteers at the outreach included Malaria, Typhoid, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Eyes, Ears, Nose and throat infections among others.

Reacting to the gesture, on Tuesday, the village head of Asanting Utit Ikpe, Obong Udofe Udousoro, lauded ImaBridge's efforts in providing free healthcare services to the people. He used the opportunity to call on well-meaning indigenes of the community and the government, to complement this gesture by creating access roads to the community.

The facilitator of the outreach Mr. Francis Usoro expressed satisfaction over the large turnout of residents for the exercise. He poured encomiums on the ImaBridge Team who in spite of logistic challenges, were able to meet up with the huge medical demands of the people. He announced that the exercise will take place annually for the benefit of those people.

The President of ImaBridge Africa Board, Tim Madden, praised the community for their support and reiterated ImaBridge's commitment to building bridges of love across Africa in the areas of Education, Health, Microfinance and Water.

Aniefon Akpan and John Udo Nkukim who are residents of the host community, lauded the gesture of ImaBridge Africa and noted that the medical outreach is the first-of-its-kind in the community.

Earlier, the organization had celebrated Christmas with residents of Owot Uta in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.

At least 1000 people were fed in the community with support from someone who was once hungry, who in honor of her mother, gave up her Christmas gifts in order to feed other hungry people in the society.

The organization had also offered micro-credit support to Liberated Women of Risk Rescue Team International, visited Pillars of ImaBridge Africa and major stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State including the Governor, His Excellency Mr Udom Emmanuel and the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, Arch Bishop Elijah Mboho and Apostle Akan Weeks.

Meanwhile, ImaBridge Africa is called to aid the African rural poor in developing skills, knowledge, attitudes and experience for self-reliance and the capacity to work together to solve their leading problems.

This they have shown in their current visit to the state by providing financial support to victims of the collapsed Reigners Bible Church building, conducting 27 surgeries, treatment of over 300 patients in Afaha Offiong, Nsit Ibom, 200 patients at Ikot Idem Udo in Onna, over 400 in Ikot Ekop and over 700 in Owot Uta, all in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Council.

It is on record that ImaBridge Africa has given out over 60 educational scholarships since its inception, drilled 7 solar-powered boreholes with electromagnetic purifiers across that state, and sponsored several children in creative arts. The organization has also performed a major surgery on a 6-yr old girl with clubbed-feet, who is now able to walk.

ImaBridge Africa (IBA) works cooperatively with diocesan leadership at the grassroots level in Africa on priority development projects in health, economics, education, empowerment of women and social justice.

The visit to Asanting Utit Ikpe is the 5th Medical missions undertaken by the organization in Akwa Ibom State and they hope to do more in the days to come.

Here are pictures from the just-concluded elections rerun in Akwa Ibom State. These pictures confirm the election was free and fair, peaceful and non-violent.

Here are pictures from different polling units/wards in state constituencies in Akwa Ibom where rerun elections were held today. The exercise could be termed 'most-peaceful' as not a single case of violence was recorded, though there was apathy by APC members, as party leaders failed to find motivation nor to motivate followers; not even to turn up for the polls.

According to an APC Chieftain from Oron, Arc Otu Ita Toyo;

"We have all been through a lot..... it is known that from the National Assembly to the anti corruption fight the APC is yet to give a coordinated response nationally..."

This was concession of defeat by APC party hierarchy, even before the elections kicked off. A cursory observation of the polls reveals a one-sided affair all through; an easy and overwhelming victory for PDP.

At Etinan, an APC candidate, Mr Unyime Ekwere was seen at his unit in sober mood until he was consoled by a PDP govt official, Aniekeme Finbarr (picture attached).

ITA AWAK the elder who lies for APC in Akwa Ibom just said on radio said that when Obong Attah took over government in 1999, the Governor was Ibibio, the deputy was Annang and the Speaker was Oro. He was justifying his position that the positions are always distributed on ethnic basis and not senatorial district.

Distinguish ladies and gentlemen, the man on the pics is a proud son of Ekid nation, he hails from Esit Eket local government area of the State. That is not the news. The crux is that he was the speaker of the house of Assembly from 1999 when Obong Attah took over office.

But Ita Awak maintains that an Oro son was the Speaker in 1999.
