Tadeus: Which professors are you talking about? Professional bodies in Nigeria are mostly self-established in the era of military regimes as a copycat to what they saw in Western countries… in contrast, professional bodies in the West are greatly influential in policies making within govt, they do a lot of research and mostly source funds from private companies and individuals, govt contributions are very minimal to discourage corruption and inefficiency. Some of the researches bring about changes in environmental policy, economic development and new innovations in tech and infrastructure. The same cannot be said about these mumu organisations in Nigeria, call any of these ‘professors’ to come and make public presentations on any new ideas that can change the lives of Nigerians positively, na you go switch off young tv in agony! 2 Likes |

How Baba Buhari spent nearly a decade without even considering checking what these ‘organisations’ and ‘councils’ were up to, I don’t understand! They just kept allocating huge funds to them year in year out without any positive impacts on the economy… is that because most of these orgs are filled with Abokis with no knowledge of anything about what these organisations were set up to do?? President Tinubu is actually the man for the job, kudos to him on these actions since he got into office! 4 Likes |

Apart from Oshodi and Idumota, Lagos is much quieter in the suburbs. In the 80s there were plenty of trees and shrubs all over the city and flooding is a less common disaster in those days… but armed robberies is almost everyday news! The news channels were less than 10 and were mostly dominated by Babangida and his military regime palaver. There were very few millionaires (MKO, Muftau Olanihun, Dangote and Eze Ego) and everyone knew them because they were constantly mentioned by musicians and radio hosts… everyone wears ‘aswani’ or ‘katangowa’ even office workers and civil servants, schools are often shut down due to strikes and protests. the main transport in Lagos were run by few private businessmen, the most popular of them is Alhaji Ise Oluwa who first came up with converting 911 trucks to ‘moluę s’. You see those women sweeping sides of express roads, they hv tail o! Yam and egg were the Sunday breakfast (if you are well-to-do) The most popular tv host in Lagos: Sony Iraboh, Bisi Olatilo, Baba Gboin , etc. most popular musicians were the older fuji musicians like Late Ayinde Barrister, Kollington, K1, Sunny T, Obesere and Pasuma… and then the juju stars like King Sunny Ade, Eb Obe, Shina Peters and Dayo Kujore. Later in the mid 90s came the afro pop stars like the Plantation boyz, them Idrees Abdulkrm and others… not much Igbo or Hausa singers in those eras (if we are talking about Lagos) 17 Likes 1 Share |

Worst thing you’d apply to this is antiseptic or dermatitis cream! What you need is wash with clear normal water and dry with clean towel… dab the area with tea tree oil (find good pure brand to buy). Make sure the pores on the surface of the affected area are opened when washing for the oil to get inside and don’t apply too much just the exact area using cotton buds. Now the most important things: 1. after cleaning and applying oil try not to touch, even when it itches really bad… 2. On second or third day if you notice the area is drying looking like the treatment is working don’t wash too hard, that is dont open up the pores, just clean and apply oil to the surface… and 3. stay away from the sun to avoid sweating. In just few days it’ll totally dry off, at this point wait a little longer before you start pinching to avoid opening up unhealed pores! Good luck |

These are the sorts of statements that expose Nairaland’s goons’ inability to comprehend simple but guileful opinions! Already most commentators on this topic don fall yakata… good luck to whoever wishes to clarify the statement to them! |
