Politics / Re: MEND Declares Ceasefire In Niger Delta by olboy: 12:57am On Oct 01, 2008
how can the niger-delta develop when the people themselves are their own greatest enemies? i wonder what they wld have done if they had no oil. i live in PH and see things for myself. how do u expect a region to develop when they themselves don't even make room for development? MEND and the rest say no devpnt, yet they do not allow for peace to reign that there myt be development, they accuse oil companies of not employing their indigenes and then you wonder if all niger-delta indigenes will be oil workers, that is even if they have requisite qualification, or even go to school to read. anyone who knows port-harcourt well will know the brridge by the LNG complex. the bridge was in a bad shape for a long time before odili left office, he and his advisors never saw it necessary to effect repairs, yet they ply this road. omehia never evn did a thing for a hundred days. Now amaechi govt contracted engineers to repair the bridge, it was shut from public use, work started and wat do we see next?, workers at the site were kidnapped, kidnapers wanting ransom before thet wld release the hostages. of course the company contracted packed their baggages and left in annoyance, leaving the bridge that has already been cut in the middle. now who loses out? a couple of yrs back, elf petroleum wanted to instal street lights from it's main office in trans amadi to the mothercat junction, youths are demanding that the company pays them N2m first or they wont carry out the project successfully. WHO LOSES OUT? one can go on and on, not like i'm speaking for anyone, everybody has a part of the blame- FG, oil companies, elders, state govts, militants, sorry those pretending criminals, and youths in the region - but nothin can happen if there is no will to do. let those criminals who had ben used to easy money paid them by the obasanjos and odilis and iboris, and alams, and omehias, who now cannot unerstand why an amaechi wld refuse to pay them , do some serious soul searching and for everybodys sakes(including their children and their children) allow peace and find meaningful ways of getting paid. they are now callin for ceasefire when they have lost quite a lot of their members, awon ole, won jebi. does a group of people even think they are bigger than this country?

Politics / Re: SSS Invades Channels Tv by olboy: 12:14am On Sep 18, 2008
let us all not worry ourselves about channels tv's license, it's only suspended, not revoked, even though there's no provision for suspension in the law NBC is claiming to follow. i'm sure the govt just wants to teach channels magt a lesson about airing what the govt sees as sensitive and otherwise. it's only disturbing that  A DEMOCRATIC GOVT which claims to live by THE RULE OF LAW, could descend so low as mess itself up this way, this day and age, those are the kind of things that we knew with military dictatorship. really unfortunate that yar adua doesnt seem to have any tolerance at all for any "mishandling" concerning his health matters, first casualty was kingibe, 2nd channels, who's it gonna be next, the VP? i wonder y there has to be so much brouhaha about a mere mortal's state of health, and the UNgentleman himself is not helping matters. we just hope he really decides on time to SOJI instead of dullin himself around those who ill advise him.
Sports / Re: Nigeria (0) - Argentina (1) In 2008 Olympics Final by olboy: 10:38am On Aug 22, 2008
naija all the way, i believe in siasia, i've always. like has been said, the only thing to be afraid of is the tricky way those argentines fall down in the penalty area. most of those boys who lost to argentina at holland 3 years ago are still the same ones playing, coached by the same person, so i believe lessons wld have been learnt, i trust siasia for technical depth,

Evn if it's a silver in football, it still atones for naija's woeful outing at the olympics, that's my own take.
