No matter the side u put it,u will still arrive at the same thing. Its like putting Naira on the left hand side,it will give you the pounds equivalent on the right hand side. On the other hand if u put the same pounds on the left hand side, it will still give you the naira equivalent on the right. So what's the difference.
As for the prediction method, I think u r just doing guess work. No one can ascertain what the rate will be tommorrow or next. So let's not mislead people. No one can ascertain. You were only lucky.

@bolded, not the same thing. I think they normally will type the naira you have in your account on the left hand side to determine if it is up to for example £9,135 (Studying outwith London)

As for the prediction, he is just playing Lotto grin don't mind him.

@chuksbenin did u put ur naira on the left and then got the pounds value on the right side? Cos peeps been telln us to put pounds on left and then naira on the equivalent to the right. @elope justwise @olowob

MrsDaniels:
Pls justwise and olowob how true is the bolded statement. @chuksbenin pls did you get the visa using that process?

Yes he is right. The school will actually check by putting the naira on the left to determine the amount of pounds on the right i.e they will check what the closing balance of your account is in naira and type it on the left to know the equivalent in pounds.

Although, i have noticed some schools may not know how to do it and you may get away with just multiplying the pounds by the exchange rate of that particular day. If that is what you mean.

In all, if your school gives or has given you CAS, you are good to go. You cannot panic at this crucial period.

Please

1. Can I use Form A to pay for my accomodation?

2. Can I use Form A to receive my upkeep and living expenses when I get to UK & open a UK account?

Thanks.

You can use form A to pay for accommodation provided it is school accommodation. You cannot use Form A to receive maintenance money. You don't want banks to make money from Atm withdrawals outwith naija again?

By the way, you want to use Form A for september resumption? you joking right? It is too risky to try that now. I'll suggest you use another means.

Please house, I applied online on the 10th of August at the rate of 1pound to 419.142 naira and I had enough money then but I just checked now and it's almost 450+ to one pound which exceeds my balance(I calculated with 440). Please will this affect my application in anyway? Cc justwise
My interview was on the 12th of August.

My brother, don't stress yourself. just go and collect your visa when you get your collection mail.

Home office uses the rate of the day you paid online. Based on the bolded, you are good to go.

Not all Unis request for Bank Statement. Interesting thing is, she can still make it if she starts counting the 28 days ASAP. If her CAS states 'latest start date' (which is usually 2 weeks after resumption), it might be worth a shot using priority service.

Thats true....there might be another 2 or 3 weeks latest start date added to the September 14. You are very correct sir.

@nenyetube if your sister can move the money into her account tomorrow or latest Wednesday, then it might still be worth giving it a try using the priority service.

all the best.

I think she has been issued CAS already ooo cuz there was a little payment of 1000 pounds....what do u think...we shd still wait till January?

She has been issued CAS already? Scratching my head, but the issue now is what will she show as statement of account at the embassy? Your uncles statement of account is a big NO.

How come the school even issued her CAS without checking her statement of account to ensure it is sufficient for maintenance? I think that is part of the responsibility of a sponsor.

Since your dad's account has already been touched and tampered with, using your uncles account is a big NO. The only option here is to wait till January. Honestly September 14 is just to close by to start counting another 28 days (my opinion)

All the best to yiur sis.

Good morning people...please...it may seem a stupid question...but am really confused..2.5m was paid into my Sis account and d 28 days ends on Friday...now we r hearing form d same agent Dt said d 2.5 will go that it won't work now....bcus dad just recently spent a huge amount of money in his last trip hence no amount which will reflect in his account...she's now forced to use an uncles biz account which has over 30m for 2 months intact...now the problem is that we bear separate surname with this uncle. .please what do u think we should do...she's meant to resume Sept 14....really confused...

You should have told your dad not to have spent out of the money till the purpose is achieved but the deed has been done.

Also you do not need any agent to help you with UK visa. It is very easy to do yourself .

You cannot use your uncles account cos he is not your legal guardian. You can only use either your own account, parents or legal guardians account.

Yiur school resumes September 14, i honestly think it is too late now to start counting another 28 days.

I would advise you just let it go and wait till January cos some schools even have deadlines for the issuance of CAS.

All the best.

All the best.

Hello people,

Please I submitted my bank statement last week to my school and hope to get my CAS this week. Please does anybody have an idea of how much I will pay for the health surcharge for a Master's programme that commences in September 2016 and ends in September 2017? Some people said it's £150 while some said it's £225. Abeg which is which?

2) I will also appreciate if anyone can advise me, with a detailed explanation of how I can make the payment of the health surcharge without stress from Naija

Thanks and God bless!

The money you will pay for the IHS surcharge is normally automatically generated. It has a fixed rate of £150 per year but you will likely pay more due to the extra 4 months that would be on your visa.

As for paying from Nigeria, I think some people on here have recommended GTB Naira master card or you can use 2 cards in making payment.

All the best.

^^^^ worrisome

So sorry about what happened. I would advise you still contact your school, that is your best move. You cannot submit something different from what has already been listed on your CAS or you might be denied visa by the VO.

If your school is not replying on time, it is most likely because of the numerous number of applications they are dealing with at the moment. I would suggest you call them. All the best.

Well, it is not unexpected. The test fee is $130 or its equivalent in Naira. They have simply adjusted the exchange rate from N200/$1 to N315/$1.

We should even be happy that they used the interbank rate rather than black market rate.

Next time, people will be more careful not to vote a dullard for President

If you feel you are going to be a better leader, don't just make noise behind your laptop or phone, join a political party, campaign on Nairaland so that people can vote for you a very smart person. The change begins with you and I.

Enough of the complains.

Still coming up or down?

What about if the rate goes high like a week, and later comes down in two weeks time. Will it affect the statement of account at the end of 28days?

Or we need to maintain the rate at a high price so it won't affect.

I also heard, they will make use of the rate the day I applied, which of the apply date. Is it school or Visa

Cc: justwise Claremont fizzile OlowoB

It is the rate of the day you pay online that will be used I.e say you make payment for your IHS fees and application fees online.

If the rate should skyrocket for a week and then reduces or vice versa does not matter. It is the rate of that particular day (day of payment for application) that would be used.

It's not their fault, your brothers are reprehensible anywhere they go. Me sef dey shame for them. undecided

You also come across as someone who would have made such a decree of you happen to find yourself in a position of authority. You need to change your mentality.

We have Nigetians as criminals and we also have the very good ones. Are you a criminal? Are you not also Nigerian? No need justifying what is wrong.

This is a clear case of discrimination against all nationals of a country and must be condemned. There should be better ways of handling issues like this if there is a case of massive corruption going on.

If the government of UAE were really serious, they should have just stopped all Nigerians from coming into their country. Then we will take them serious. Can they do that? No cos they also make money from Nigerains. Highest form of Hypocrisy. Nonsense.

Cutting off ones head is not the solution to a constant headache.

You need to understand the discrapancy behind account opening in UAE for Nigeria citizen b4 posting & commenting. Nigeria govt & EFCC discover that so many fraudulent politician uses an ordinary Nigeria resident in the UAE to laund money & as a result, the only way to stop the trend is to stop opening an account 4 Nigerian's in UAE

are you for real? I mean did you just write this? So the best way to stop corruption is to prevent all Nigerians from opening an account? you mean opening a salary account is also corruption? I am sure you have had too much to drink this weekend sir.

Have a nice rest.

even the dullard president went abroad and told the whole world that his country men are corrupt,so what do u expect from the international community all these coupled with the fact that some Nigerians are also involved in one crime or the other abroad. What the use is trying to do is to limit the number of Nigerians living in their country by making it extremely difficult for them.

You just had to bring your hatred for the president to this thread again right?

When any member of your family manages to be so dull as to become a president, please let me know.

And you that is very smartd, I hope you are currently living a better life than the presidents children.

@op this is a very sad situation. The discrimination is something else. Let all Nigerians play their part and give a positive impression any country we go to. That is the solution not cursing leaders unnecessarily.

All the best op.

Hello everyone , pls anybody that has been able to successfully use a guardian(like an uncle) account as a sponsor , pls run me through.thank you

A legal guardian is accepted but it is quite complicated to be honest. If you are sure you can successfully get all documents needed, then go for it. I will post the requirements here.

To avoid repetition, i already listed what can be done using legal guardian lifted from the home office website. You can click the link https://www.nairaland.com/2575449/uk-student-visa-tier-4/57#47578703

Alternatively, Why not tell your uncle to put the money in your personal account? If your uncle is scared about his money, he can simply tell you to open an account in the same bank he uses and he will instruct the bank not to allow you withdraw the money out for the 28 day period plus extra weeks to submit the visa at the embassy. Immediately your visa is out, his account officer automatically transfers it back into his account. People who borrow students money for maintenance funds use this same method. I will suggest you talk to your uncle, using your own account is the best. Saves you unnecessary stress.

Wow, fingers crossed..I pray it doesn't affect my application cos I don't know why she removed it.

It is not a requirement to print out Oanda rates rather you should have written the rates on the Application form or on the bank statement.

All the same, they will check themselves, nothing to worry about.
