Romance / Re: I Am Leaving Behind My Love, For Greener Pastures Abroad. by OlowuB: 12:36pm On Sep 05, 2017
Young man - what exactly is stopping you from marrying this girl right now? Please don't tell me money it becos of money; as you have already said you girl isn't the materialistic type; wait until your Visa is out; take your parents and go and meet her parents; after that go to the registry and marry (You guys can throw party and make noise later) that if you are truly serious about her; your brother will adjust and understand? He is only concerned that having someone back home could put you under pressure to start making money due to monetary demands from back home instead of you focusing on your education - also this removes the option of you meeting someone in Canada that you could marry.

Career / Re: Quitting My Lucrative Job For A Degree In Canada by OlowuB: 9:43am On Jul 20, 2017
Young man, I would advise you to pursue to your dreams in Canada; Nigeria will always be there; if you could get this present job with your current education; I would like to believe that should you have to come back to Nigeria with the benefit of further education you would still a same or better job. Going to Canada affords you an exposure and life experience to explore another part of the world; you are young without any attachment - so go ahead explore the world; enjoy the experience and never look back on the money you are earning now and regret - use it as a driving force to go the extra mile and remain focus during your study in Canada. Dream big; why not think about studying in Canada and working had and networking well so that should you wish to come back to Nigeria - you would be coming back as an employer of labour as oppose to coming to take a job. The only hope for Nigeria is for the younger generation both at home, especially in those in the diaspora looking to head back; situate themselves as employers of labour.

Politics / Re: Lagos-calabar Rail Project: Those Worthy Of Knocks And Those For Commendation by OlowuB: 6:24pm On Apr 12, 2016
@ Tonye - Nice write up, below are my observations.
1. This budget has been a disaster from the beginning, For those questioning why Buhari should be on this list; well the buck stops with him. How can such signature project be omitted from the budget h submitted to NASS. Also I dont buy the lie that it was included in the amended budget - if it was, then why would Amaechi have to resubmit a supplementary budget via Ashafa to the Appropriation committee, hence am more inclined to go with it no being not top of Buhari's priority.
2. If we assumed that the above is correct; then it could explain why the SS reps in NASS can claim to be unaware of the deletion of the project was it was never included in the either the 1st budget submitted or the amended budget -which they would have a copy of, as oppose to what was submitted supplementary by Amaechi to the Appropriation committee, any SS rep in that to the Appropriation committee should be recalled by their constituency.
3. Also enough of these games - the whole hue generated by this issue is not because of the love of the project or the benefit it portends for the constituents but for the benefits (monetary, reputation etc) opportunities it offers these politicians.
4. Personally - am ashamed of APC as a party - given their clear majority in both houses - the level of drama associated with a budget is disgraceful.
