My brother, we still have a long way to go. We all know how influencial unions are especially NUPENG and PENGASSAN as stakeholders in the O&G sector. How come the modalities of the process was not shared with them since 2016 until now that the final list is ready??

Tetragramaton:
Nobody can paste a copy. It is even worse to see your name there and end up not been called because some names have been removed and some have been replaced. Someone wrote it here some time ago that names can be replaced and another replied him that its not possible because list has been signed by FCC! Can you now see nothing is impossible in this country!

I kept insisting that merit list cannot be 80 or 50%. Marvel was so sure it was. My contact who told me about the calls at the beginning told me merit list is not up to 30%. That it is not possible for the masses in any recruitment to get the larger share. That it has never happened in Nigeria. I also got confirmation that some so called people who started popping out on Monday that they got a call had gotten apl since but waited before posting so nobody will suspect anything. When i say some i meant two confirmed nairalanders. you know yourselves. But you don't owe anybody explanation because If I had someone. I'd do the same too.

Lastly its not over till the end. What is happening now, this tata or whatever his name is cannot be the sheep in a den of lions. Where he is today. Some people also helped him. He is loyal to so many people if not he can loose his job because of this recruitment even before his retirement. He has no choice but to play ball.
This is Nigeria!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the ONLY reason why the final list wasn't released to the public and why they had to sort the connected candidates first! Guys, what is yours will be yours. Don't put your minds on this process, it's pure RUBBISH! Focus on the next things and if you happen to get it anways, good for you.

The richest and happiest people in Nigeria are not DPR/NNPC staff. Let the will of God be done inour lives.

At all the previous stages of this process, I received text messages; why is this final stage different

Marvel65:
Update!!!

- distribution of letters suspended but those called to receive theirs tomorrow and next may still collect theirs. So there maybe no more calls until everything has been sorted.
- EH list to be slashed by half or more.
- Staff union may go on strike if their demands are not met.

Everyone should just pray. Good luck!!!

Good evening.

Houston POE Experience!

DW left 9ja with Emirates last Friday (26/05/17), had 4 hours stop-over at Dubai before boarding to Houston. Spent 17 hours on air and landed in Houston around 4pm. DW and DM were not given any special treatment as DW is not the bigger-tommy type, so they didnt really notice DW is pregnant. Spent about 30 minutes on the queue. Meanhwile, there was this CBP that has been sending people to 2nd inspection constantly. DW was praying she should not be sent to her sad Alas! The dreaded CBP called DW, below is the transcript:

CBP: Why are you here?
DW: Child-birth and vacation.

CBP: (surprise look on her face) We no longer alllow that here from foreigners. It was actually cancelled last week.
DW: Not aware of that. I duly informed the embassy in Nigeria and such info wasn't given to me.

CBP: Why USA?
DW: For better healthcare due to complications I had during my previous childbirth

CBP: Why not UK, which is closer to you?
DW: I just prefer the US, didn't think about UK at all.

CBP: How much do you have?
DW: Bleep (I learnt this here - hehehe)

CBP: for Virginal or CS
DW: Virginal

CBP: Your estimate should be based on the highest quote which is CS
DW: Whichever case, I have sufficient funds.

CBP: Again, we have cancelled childbirth here by foreigners just last week. I will just have to allow you in for a week bla bla
DW: Was not aware of that. I have sufficient funds and no plan whatsoever to use any form of insurance. **at this point, DM started feeling bad and CBP asked her to go**

CBP called another officer to take DW in for secondary inspection and allow DM to proceed to baggage claim. The officer asked her to stamp DW in, she insisted that DW has to go for secondary. DW got to secondary, there were lots of people, DW waited for 2 hours before it got to her turn. So many people.

CBP asked same 1 & 2 questions. DW gave same answers.

CBP: Have you contacted any Doctor and hospital?
DW : Yes, I have the necessary correspondence with me.

CBP: How much do you have?
DW: $XXXXX, I also have fund on my cards and accounts.

CBP: Let me see the cash
DW: Handed it over to him to check. He looked at it and return the money back to DW

CBP: Make sure you get all your receipts and zero balances for verification when you are coming the next time.
DW: Noted, thanks.

He stamped DW in till Nov and asked another officer to take her to ML for cash declaration. At this time (7pm-ish), Agric and ML had closed, just one person came out to attend to us.

DW has been resting since Friday and out tomorrow for her first appointment. We learnt alot here and it pays to say the truth and be prepared. We got B1/B2 visa late last year, and declared we would like to use the visa for childbirth via change of intent. We only realised the opportunity to have our last baby there after getting the visa.

I will STRONGLY advise you use the POE of the city you told the VO you are visiting. Except where the city doesn't have airport, then use the one very close...

Most people have encountered issues recently using a different POE compared to what they stated on their application. If you are straightforward, all POEs are easy.

good morning my wonderful family please a quick one in order to avoid chicago point of entry its my final destination though.what POE would u advise to get to chicago.pls its urgent.thank you.

Congrats dear.

NOTE that people here are not VOs, Airline reps, CBP or anything related. Everyone is just sharing based on their personal experiences and those of friends/relatives (true or untrue). Most importantly, it's good to try your luck regardless. Go after what you want - no matter how difficult they might seem to others, your case is different.

People have used BI/B2 visas for childbirths and were able to renew successfully many times. In whatever case, notify the embassy of change of intention, be prepared for POE interviews, don't lie for any reason to the immigration officials and get your documents ready (including receipts).

I had an interesting encounter in Chicago POE few weeks ago, I will share later smiley

Ire oo!

MrsSugar:
Hello all
Just want to thank you all for the tips i read on here.I want to share i had a successful interview today at the U.S. Consulate after declaring i was going to birth in Houston and to the glory of God was granted my visa
I don't know if anyone remembers my story from the first time i applied for visa and said would like to spend 40days on tourist visa just in feb last month but was denied?I posted my transcript.
Well i applied for a tourist visa then to go for a graduation being pregnant but concealed nicely in a big dress though wasn't asked if i was and didn't declare even though truthfully i wanted to travel for the purpose of birth.I was given an almighty blue rejection slip lmao.
So barely a month later i decided to apply again but sought advise here first though everyone who commented after i posted the transcript adviced me not to bother, telling me i would definitely get a no.That i should have my LO here wait a year b4 reapplying, others said it would seem desperate others said its a hopeless case and truly my case was a mess.
Regardless,i was convinced in my heart to give it another go.This time applied for a medical visa ,armed with correspondence with doctor plus her letter of acceptance hubby and i already made a small deposit for doctor's fee and went there for interview and 2min later came my white paper.
It was only God because i had truly just 2.8M naira in my account!yes o
They didn't ask for a single document!God showed himself to me today like he has never before!I'm still shaking even now.
This just goes to show if you're convinced in your heart about something especially when you believe God has directed you, follow through. He always sees you through
