You would be lie those rich Hausa men with pot Bellies who head into Niger or Adamawa with their cash looking for beautiful Fulani or Tuareg girls.
Lol they do that in Nigeria too ? Seems like it's almost everywhere.

Precisely. Today every Nigerian complains about how his ethnic group has little in common with the other group, and how they should be allowed to form a sovereign state of their own.
Right when folks are realizing that most nation states can't defend their interest anymore including those of Europe. If you are not India, or China or North America, better associate with someone quick. The world is only going to get tougher for smaller countries. What in GOD's name do they think they will accomplish with their little states? I don't get it.

Um... I perfectly understand that Fulani clans were part of these empires' history, either as people living within their boundaries, as Muslim scholars, or even as rival states. All of those empires were multiethnic and multicultural anyway.
But they were not Fulani empires in the sense that their founders and rulers were not Fulani.

Please, in no way am i attempting to belittle Fulani achievements. The earliest kingdom in West Africa to become Muslim was after all Takrur (which I understand was a Fulani kingdom), and in the 19th century the Fulani created West Africa's largest empire of that time - the Sokoto Calipate.
We should know from our history that the only way we can be strong and taken seriously is by building similar states. No matter if one is an Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani, Mande, Akan, Muslim, Christian, Animists, what matters is that we are all Africans and share this beautiful, rich land. Our forefathers understood that. But today, even within a small country like Guinea, people can't get along. Mchew, things need to change.

Now on the other side, those worried about modernism embrace a rigorous form of Islam, Wahhabism. It is growing fast in Futa.
Looking back, what affected Fulbe of Guinea the most was the destruction of their state. Many were so bitter that they left Futa altogether. Thousands immigrated out of the country. Plus the French never promote the region economically which lead to its depopulation. The only way to fix it is by rebuilding its economy, not so complicated.

Woodi Sanne bandam, That (the bolded) I agree with wholeheartedly and it kind of troubles me ROFLLLL I just didn't say it out loud because I didn't want you to get upset grin. I think from Burkina Faso all the way to CAR, Fulani culture is well-perserved.
It doesn't upset me, lol I am well aware of it. Not too worried though, the last elections were an eye opener for many Fulbe that thought liberalism would make them less hated by other groups but it wasn't the case. Now it is common to see young folks listen to traditional music, even those living in cities.
What will revive Fulbe culture is the writing of the language that is being undertaken seriously. With it, poems and writings of our forefathers are made available to more people and it sure will change their behavior. Hey, isn't it how a cultural Renaissance starts ?! Lol

OmarBah, bandam did you like the song? Hope all is well ada selli?
Mida Selli bandam. Mida yidi gimol ngol. I listen to them all the time now, thanks to you I am discovering more traditional songs. You know what I like about our people is that due to our presence in so many places, when some of us abandon a part of our culture, they can always look somewhere else to find it. Fulbe of guinea have been embracing modernism too much.

Its not about clans. Its about the Federal Government vs Alshabaab.
Why does the diaspora support the Feds and end them? You do have the support of Kenya.
By the way, I like somali pirates, they are so gangster lol, gotta make those people pay for their fishing in somali waters.

Well Kush never came back after Axum took it over. So that means Axum is stronger than Kush (and the land which it controlled Egypt), Axum even controlled Arabia.

So AXUM is Greater Than Kush
Well by the time Axum took over, Meroe was just living off of its past glory . It was nothing compared to what it used to be when it was the " Birmingham of antiquity".

Lol let's build the country and strengthen its position in the globe first . You should do the same in Somalia. Your people are hard working , there is no reason why the clans can't seat and talk it through.
Culture / Re: Meet The Most Beautiful People On Earth- The Fulanis by Omarbah: 5:05pm On Jan 08, 2015

My point is it was the same people all up and down the Horn of Africa. They all spoke same language family and thus when Axum took over the culture was the same as it were essentially the same type of people. Its like when Somalis took over Ethiopia. The DNA did not change we are the same people. Only thing we spread was Islam. But during that time their was no Islam.

The fact we took it over when it was famous, only means we were that much stronger. Even though a map of linguistics will show you that the people who are in that area look like Nubians, Bejas who resemble Somalis/Ethiopians. Bejas are Cushitc.
You make too many assumptions Axum, Nubia invaded Egypt at multiple times and sometimes even imposed one of them as a Pharaoh but that doesn't mean they were stronger.

Lol hair braiding for men is viewed negatively in Futa which is weird because some of Almamys used to do it. It is part of Fulbe culture.

What you have accomplished. *chuckles*

I'm going to be honest with you: Axum is the only civilization from the Horn that fascinates me. It appears to be the only one that also fascinates historians of Africa, which explains why general African history texts are more or less silent on Adal and Ajuuran. I wouldn't even have known about them if not for you. The more fascinating empires are in the African interior. :-D

This would be my last post here. Sorry, Fulaman, Omarbah, for the distraction.
Meroe is quite famous too, they were known for their production of iron.

Southern Africa had Zimbabwe, Mapubgubwe, etc. You should look them up.

Not to belittle the Fulani, but the three prime empires that stand out the most in the history of the West African sahel were not created or run by your so-called "Hamites".

I tried to tell him to ignore these theories. But hey , he clearly told me he doesn't care about Africa. He only cares about Somalia, even that I doubt it. That's as far as you can the conversation to.

I believe in that theory
Then both the Fulanis and Tutsis are considered as Hamitic .
Now on serious note, you should know these sort of theories are what divides Africans. They are the ones that lead to things like the genocide in Rwanda. They always come from people that life outside of our continent . Once posited, they let us fight and come scrap the resources.
What do you think should be done for Somalia to come back to peace? Ii told a friend of mine that we should let Al Shebab have their ISlamic state.

am talking about the mixing that happened that separted Oromos in northern Ethiopia from Oromos near Somalis. This happened in the 1500's when Somalis took over much of Ethiopia. Even though we are the same people, that mixing was more of cultural and religious mixing as we look the same. The mixing of the Oromos with Omatic people certainly changed them from the Cushitic people general look.
Axum, do you believe in Hamitic theory?
Culture / Re: Meet The Most Beautiful People On Earth- The Fulanis by Omarbah: 2:43pm On Jan 08, 2015
axum:

Oromos in the west mixed with them, this is more recently as 1500's, because Oromos were driven inland into Ethiopia when Somalis destroyed Ethiopia and Portugal. This is the reason why many [s]Oromos neighboring Somalia are Muslim and mixed with Somalis,[/s] the ones in the north mixed with Amahara and tigers and the ones in the west mixed with Omatic people.

That mixing happened in the last couple hundred years, before that All of us were the same as their was no ethnic group called Oromo or Somali, it was just Cushitic people.
How come in your conclusion you say you were the same meaning and just before that you say " the mixing happened in the last couple hundred years" ? If Somalis and Oromos were the same before the mixing, would any intermarriage be called mixing?

Alshbaab is allied with Alqaeda and those videos are for foreign consumption in order to get outside recruits. Somalis dont know Arabic. 90 percent of us dont know Arabic.

This is the reason why Alshabaab has a lot of videos to recruit foreign fighters. Also Alshabaab uses the quran which is in Arabic, and Nahseeds those are meant for all Muslims not Arabs.
I wouldn't believe any data you from you without a credible source. Lol, yea right, they are making the videos for Arabs. pfff,

You obviously dont know Somali people if you think we wear weaves. First our hair is naturally long and soft. Secondly we cover our hair unless the women are at weddings. Thirdly the majority of Somalis dont even know such thing as a weave exists since they are new to the west and since they cover their hair and dont see the purpose of showing their hair unless around other women. Your argument is mute, even other Somalis on here who dislike me will tell you about Somalis not knowing or wearing weaves.
We have this debate before, I won't have it again.
