@roots, this lady is capitalizing on your weakness, she knows that you love her and she is taking advantage of you. she wants to eat her cake and have it. She wants to keep you not because she still loves you but because of the financial gains you've been giving to her. Yes she has found something in her neighbor that attracts him to her, am sure she must have had intimacy with him. Try tell her you're giving up the relationship just to test her, you will see that she wont feel sober. She just don't know how to tell you goodbye because she will be an ingrate and you will hate her for life. So she will rather frustrate you until you give up by yourself. My advice is don't bother about all you've done for her, let her go if she wants, you'll be compensated someway somehow. That guy has something she loves and you don't have it. Probably the guy is more educated than you, or handsome than you or richer than you or more sexually good than you. Its better you marry someone that loves you for whatever you are and enjoy everlasting marriage than someone who is forced to marry you because you have done some goods in her life.

very true words. very true!

Guy man, I feel your pain.

But the truth is there is probably very little you can do. No amount of warning or ultimatum will stop your woman from going to see this chap.

Trust me. She has developed 'a thing' and she wont stop. You are in a no-win situation; If you make noise about it, she will do it secretly or she will kuku leave you altogether. If you dont make noise about it, then you will live in silent pain and she will still leave you. If you leave her first then she will say you overreacted and that shebi there was nothing going on. You cannot win!

Until she goes and sees what's behind the door and maybe gets a few of her fingers burned, she will not listen to you.

Sadly, a lot of people have to experience certain things before they learn. Your woman is one of such.

Grin, bear it and hope for the best.

Hes 31yrs and am 30.Wev bin dating for 6yrs and our luv is growing stronger.I work wit glo for 2yrs nw and am paid big time.We finishd nysc the same year, but hes yet to get a job.Hes a good guy, respectful and lovin.Since i av a good job and wel paid,i want to marry him nw.House pls advice me on wat to do

1. Has he asked you to marry him?
2. How does he feel about getting married without a job?

Male ego usually precludes most guys from agreeing to marry without a job while the madam goes out to work. If both of you are in agreement then personally I don't see anything wrong. The way you describe him, it sounds like he's a decent chap and only a matter of time before he finds his feet.

adaybola:

Pls pardon the long story, I just want u to get my points. I have a similar experience, my first b/f was so crazy about me that he worshipped the ground I walked on. The problem was, I just couldn't love him cuz of his look (he’s not ugly but not just hot enough in my estimation). I tot I was too beautiful to be his. I cared about him and appreciated him but try as I could, I just couldn't love him. I told him I didn't love him but he kept telling me I would with time. After 5 years and still feeling the same way, I couldn't go on with the relationship. In fact, to make him break up with him I cheated on him (the most despicable thing I’ve ever done). He caught me, forgave me and was still willing to move on with me (he proposed) and I tot he was silly. Eventually I left him five years ago. Now, I realized I was just immature and chasing shadows. I actually wanted a hot looking man, comfortable, romantic, perfect, lol!!! So silly rite? After several relationships, I saw reality and I realized I didn’t love him cuz I didn’t want to. Am 5”6, he’s 5”7 and I love tall guys. The other guys I dated were fine alrite, hot bods but they made me taste hell (heartbroken, over and over again) I went back to my ex three years ago but, it was too late. He found someone better and finer than me, he currently works in the oil and gas sector, (he’s so fine I could hardly recognize him). Fortunately, he's happily married now with the said lady and very comfortable. I envy his wife. Well, am still single (trying to be happy though) but I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I could have loved him if I had tried to see his inner beauty.  Pls think carefully, “atimes the things we chase in life is like shimmers in the pond”.

Your honesty is refreshing. Hope you meet someone else who would love you perhaps more than your ex did and who you would be able to love back in return.

I was once in that situation.
We were friends but he loved me so much and i wanted to make him happy so i pretended that i liked him too.
It was when he tried to kiss me that i discovered that i could not continue to pretend.
It was so revolting that i had to come clean.
He actually cried but i had to be firm and pull away.
Today, i am married to the man of my dreams.
He is totally into me and i am into him.

My dear, it's not the same situation, The poster has been in this relationship for 3 years, Probably kissed and panshed each other many many times too. It's not the same ooo.

Your own was just a friend who happened to like you. The two does not equal four in this case.

Family / Re: Who Should You Put First, Family Or Work by omofat: 3:51pm On Jul 13, 2010
We all need to learn the lesson of the five balls:

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. They are work, family, health, friends and spirit and you’re keeping all of them in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls- family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.
TV/Movies / Re: Ghana Slams $1,000 Fee On Nigerian Actors by omofat: 4:42pm On Jul 06, 2010
Gosh, we nigerians can be such a hypocritical bunch of morons.

Lets just read the article again for one moment:

In a statement sent to the Actors Guild of Nigeria [AGN] Board of Trustees, said henceforth, any Nigerian actor participating in any of their productions will be compelled to pay $1, 000 (One Thousand dollars) or risk losing the job.

This development, according to the Ghanaians, is to give ample opportunities to their local actors, and as a result, develop their movie industry to an enviable height.

Meanwhile, as the number of foreign actors plying their trade in Nigeria’s Nollywood continues to increase, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has called on the Nigerian Film and Video Marketers to curb the excesses of these foreign actors.

The authorities of AGN reiterated that movie marketers, producers, directors and other stakeholders should avoid giving prominence to foreign actors at the expense of their local counterparts.

Star actor and National President of AGN, Segun Arinze, said he is not opposed to the use of foreign actors in Nigerian movies, but it should not be at the expense of the local talents.

According to Arinze, Nigerian movie producers should be cautious of the influx of foreign actors, especially the Ghanaians, who seem to be getting more roles and better remuneration in Nigerian films.

Right! - so in the same article that you people are criticizing the ghanaians for, you have top nigerian actors and the professional body of nigerian actor's advocating for the very same thing against 'foreign actors' especially ghanaians!.

I guess its okay if nigeria does it, but not anyone else.

GenBuhari:

Our attitude is very defensive of Nigeria. It amazes me.

The BBC portrays Nigeria as it sees interesting for the viewers.

It would make very boring TV for the british to see the nicer parts of Lagos, because good roads infrastructure is no big deal in most countries. The unusaul thing is is the slums.

That the BBC chooses to focus on the slums may seem unfair to some Nigerians, but in the final analysis who can we really blame but ourselves. The BBC never created the slums or used special effects.

We only have ourselves to blame for the fact the slums existed in the first place.

What our numbhead leaders should be focusing on should be clearing the slums and creating decent homes for everyone.

Hopefully programmes like this may embarrass government to act.

Excellent.

To those who say their problem is with the title - I seriously doubt that. We would still be having this debate even if the title was "Welcome to the slums of Lagos".

To those who say it is not representative of the reality of lagos - I say it is representative of "a" reality of lagos. The slums are real, those folks really do live there.

@All: Those of you who continue to debate frosbel thinking he's really interested in facts are going no where fast. The guy is clearly misguided and engaging in curious forms of tortured circular logic.

Check this:

He doesn't hate moslems.
He doesn't care much about sharia banking.
But he hates sharia.
Sharia banking equals sharia, so he hates sharia banking.
But nooo he doesn't really hate interest-free banking.
Sharia banking is kinda built on interest-free banking,  Ah alas, so he now hates that too.
He is for freedom of speech. But sharia banking is going to take that away from him.
But he really doesn't mind sharia banking cuz he believe in freedom.
But ah! It is called 'sharia' banking so he hates it.

----
Ladies n gents are you confused yet? Cause typing all that almost fried up my brain - looool.
Talk about catch 22!

Frosbel is twisted with hate, hypocrisy and came here deliberately trying inflame anti-islamic sentiments.

I'm actually very pleased that most people here saw thru him and called him out on it. Gives me some kind of hope that nigeria may just be able to one day rise above our religious differences and perhaps confine recent sad incidents like the jos killings into our past.

People who deliberately seek to divide and inflame tensions should be told off in the strongest possible terms.

Okoro2015:

The mother church will not be moved, i repeat, will not be moved by these petty gossips. At a time when i expect people to applaud the mother church for maintaining it's traditional moral authority consequent upon it's high level of morals even at this trying time, they are busy pointing at some irrelevant issues. With over 1.1bn Catholics worldwide & with almost half a million priests, that we are not hearing these kind of stories everyday shows that God himself is in the church. The devil needs to be smarter, this one isn't a case. The Church would not be intimidated to yield any ground on her convinced stand on same intimacy marriage, Women priests, Birth control,, etc. If anybody felt shortchanged by some decisions of the mother church, let them not hide under any guise of useless blackmail to air their grivances. I will advice some of the commentators here to reflect on these before making comments. People should understand the world of difference differences b/w Rev. Fr Ratzinger and his Holiness Benedict XVI. It may surprise some of you that the church doesn't practice democracy. Any decision taken by the Pope concerning the church or even by a Bishop concerning his Diocese is not subject to debate by any authority let alone by some remote atheist.

Petty gossip? / Irrelevant issues? - Lets just pray that none of your own ever falls victim to the kinds of abuses we've been hearing about.

This may be abit of a diversion but where did this thing of "moral authority" start?
Who nominated the pope as Christ's representative on earth?
Religion / Re: Stop The Persecution Of The Pope! by omofat: 7:33pm On Apr 16, 2010
bebrief:

I am rather amused at your sheer hatred for the Catholic church. I have seen many of your type and I know how they all ended. Maybe you're one of those atheistic "bastards" too. But i bet you, you and your cohorts will never succeed in undermining the Catholic church nor the spread of the gospel.

You may claim to be a Christian (if ever you are), first remove the log from your own eye so you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. I have made a clear statement and only illiterates fail to understand: you should not persecute one for another's crime.

Yes, the Church is the only moral authority remaining on earth. The Pope is not just an individual, he is the "representative" of Christ on earth. This does not make the Pope nor the church sinless. If we were sinless, then we should not be on earth. I can assure you that you're no holier. You even went further to make some baseless accusations. What prove can you give of your accusations?

Evil in any form should and must be condemned, but I will never lay blame on the wrong person. If my four year daughter is abused by a priest, i'll call the police, not the Pope. And if a citizen of your religion (Nigeria) tries to bomb a US plane, then i guess the president of your religion (Nigeria) should be stoned to death?

Dude, you are missing the central point. No one is persecuting one for the crimes of another. This is a case of systemic, institutionalised cover-ups. That is really the issue at hand. The current pope, as cardinal ratzinger, also happened to be in-charge of the body responsible for dealing with these issues.

Just over a decade ago, the metropolitan police was found to have "institutionalised racism". That didn't mean that every single police officer was racist or that the head of the force was racist. But as a force, they acknowledged the problem and started to attempt to clean up their image. Whether they've been successful or not is a separate matter.

The truth is the catholic church needs to confront this issue and begin the process of reassuring people that they are doing something positive about it.

Furthermore, as to this your issue of "not persecuting one for the sins of another", there is a reason why - at least in civilized countries - the head of an organization resigns when there is a failing by the organization. Even when they are not directly to blame.

It's funny that while you continue your blind rage and fury on NL, the pope himself understands the gravity of the situation and has issued an almost unprecedented apology for the suffering on people and the cover-ups. You just sit there and continue living in denial.

Lastly, your analogy of the nigerian terrorist is misguided at best. There is no official nigerian policy of protecting terrorists.

1. Umm, posting one article from their site does not mean I support their entire positions. Important to note this !

2. Please debate the article and not the source, I specifically stated that it was a position I supported

3. Be aware that the quotations in the article are from the horse's mouth and I will provide you with the detail if you are interested.

4. By independent, I meant an article not writtne by myself,  I must have used the wrong vocabulary here. Apologies.

5. I am a mild conservative in political opinion. so what is wrong with that ? We have liberals, conservatives and a host of other variations. Its my choice.

So lets have a debate and not try all these twisting and deceptive games.

My friend, there is nothing wrong in being conservative. You have a right to your ideas.
Business / Re: Dangers Of Allowing Sanusi Lamido Implement Sharia Banking - Learn From The USA by omofat: 2:22pm On Apr 16, 2010
@frosbel:

In order to have a fair debate, it is always good to understand where the author is coming from. For reasons best known to yourself, you have presented a right-wing, anti-islam author as an independent analyst for a subject that is highly sensitive. That is very dubious.

At various points along this thread, you have constantly deviated from debating the merits/demerits of sharia banking to all out islamic bashing:

Why do we need Islamic banking, an institution founded by Saudi Arabia to run in parallel with the current banking system that has been in place for decades?
Why do we need Islamic banking, an institution founded by Saudi Arabia to run in parallel with the current banking system that has been in place for decades?

If a bunch of folk agree to a set of rules by which they want to keep their money, what's the problem with that?

BUT what the article is about is the introduction by stealth of a Sharia based financial system which cannot in honesty be  seperate from the actual principle of Sharia for completeness.

One of the main issues with Sharia banking is its links to the charitable Zakat , a  tithe, which has been proven time and time again to be linked to the funding of Jihad.

People do not understand that the spread of sharia banking in Britain and America and now moving at a frantic pace into Africa  especially in Nigeria ,  is a significant part of the attempt to introduce Sharia to these countries through the enticement of money. Acceptance of sharia finance furthers the objective of gradually legitimising Islamic sharia law more generally in the entire country.

Sharia banking is just one part of the entire concept of the Sharia system.
Sharia banking cannot be divorced from Sharia.
Sharia domination is a gradual, progressive, relentless onslaught on society through various means.

Already the UK is under attack on multiple fronts. For instance many enclaves of Sharia programmed people are asking for Sharia to be imposed in those areas, even though the UK is a secular state and freedom of speech is what makes this nation free.

Once Sharia succeeds like it has in Iran, Saudi, and Northern Nigeria, Somali etc, that’s when the slashing of wrists and slicing of heads begin.

What this has to do with the principles of sharia banking, only you can explain.

Yes. Sharia is extremism. It is a medieval, Stone Age practise that does not fit into the values and belief systems of the 21st century.

It is the collective goal of Sharia apologists that the whole world will come under Sharia in the future.

Are we still talking about sharia banking - merits of interest free banking?

Then after, several other commenters attempt to correct your incorrect position, you drop this gem:

I really do not have a problem with Sharia banking ( but why call it Sharia banking anyway  )  , so far as it does not remove my rights and freedoms piece by piece.
I wonder what freedoms you are worried about losing.

So again, I ask what was the point of your original post?
Business / Re: Dangers Of Allowing Sanusi Lamido Implement Sharia Banking - Learn From The USA by omofat: 1:40pm On Apr 16, 2010
@Frosbel - The second article is hardly an "independent" analysis.

The brussels journal proudly refers to itself as the "voice of conservatism in europe".

Take a quick look at other articles from the BJ:

Why Israel's struggle is our struggle too
Duly Noted: Priests, Gypsies, Mullahs
The new neutralism: US, UK abandons Swiss in conflict with Libya
Book review: A God who hates

Then quickly take another look at some of Mr. Thomas Landen's (the writer of your second piece) other articles. A quick google search will help here:

http://www.hudsonny.org/mt/mt-cp.cgi?__mode=view&blog_id=1&id=126

---
Now I'm not sure what your position motive is really. I know you have an aversion to sharia banking because you appear to think its a way for moslems to take over the world ( ), but please please don't present a right-learning, conservative piece as independent.
