Travel / Re: Should I Still Travel To The USA? by omolan(m): 6:10pm On Jul 21, 2019
post=80475044]There's this sweet Akata I met on fb, we are getting along well and she's thinking we could spend our lives together. She's a single mother of one, older than me with one year and a medical assistant.

Now the problem is, she doesn't really earn too much and she has accumulated alot of loans that could amount to 50k dols and she wants to acquire another to study at the University for 4years, calculating all these could amount to like 150k dols and I've not even talked about my own cos I'll have to sponsor myself through school.

Another issue is that I don't think I'm really ready to settle down cos I really need to hustle and make money to help my family if I eventually travel before marrying and I intend on doing a course here in Nigeria for Digital Marketing to help me secure a nice job.

My problem now is, I'm scared of marrying someone who has acquired these loans cos Las Las na me go still follow pay wetin I no sabi.

Please, I need a clear guide on what I should do cos I don't wanna be selfish here with her by using her to get to the USA, I'm very willing to let go of her if I have very good reasons to.

Pardon my scattered words.

I have reviewed your application and documents you submitted in its support. Subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the Regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:

16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

On the current application form, you indicate that you have never been refused any kind of visa, admission, or been ordered to leave Canada or any other country. According to information in our records, you were refused visas to the United States in 2006, 2007, 2013 (two times) and 2014.

Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):

40(1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation (a) for directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act

40(2) The following provisions govern subsection (1): (a) the permanent resident or the foreign national continues to be inadmissible for misrepresentation for a period of five years following, in the case of a determination outside Canada, a final determination of inadmissibility under subsection (1) or, in the case of determination in Canada, the date the removal order is enforced.

I would like to give you an opportunity to respond to this information. I will afford you fifteen (15) days from the date of this letter to make any representations in this regard. Please use the address noted on this letter for all correspondence, and clearly indicate your file number. If you do not respond to this request within the time outlined above, your application will be assessed based on the information available, which will likely result in a refusal.

You must respond to this concern via e-mail. Paper submissions will not be accepted. If you have supporting documents that you would like to provide in your response, please scan these and attach them to your e-mail response.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Phones / Re: I Sold An IPhone To A Guy Who Scammed Me With A Fake Bank Transfer by omolan(m): 6:35am On May 27, 2016
Wema Debit
NGN5,105.00
Acct No:0122****60
Desc.: MOBILE TRANSFER FROM 234708******** TO FBN 3
Bal: 20,000.97
23-04-2016 04:13 @OP example of how WEMA BANK send their SMS Alert,at least u can see d Bal at d end of SMS.sorry for d lost
bdavis:

First thing you should have done and should do now is lock down the phone...it's an iphone, if you didn't disable the icloud but just logged in, you can lock down the phone. So it becomes totally and absolutely useless to the scammer. Then you can use find my iPhone, to locate the phone: even if the phone is off, if properly configured, an iphone would upload it's exact last location to icloud just as the battery is about to die.
Couple of things I noticed about your scammer: he's not a newbie...he planned well. He's numba isn't on truecaller, which would also possibly mean that number ain't registered to his actual identity. So getting his details from the telecommunication companies would most likely lead to a dead end. Plus there are places you can go to where pre-registered sims are sold, he could be using one of such. However, the telecom companies would definitely be able to track down the location of the number by pinging it...this however, you cannot achieve on your own. You'll have to:
1). Report the matter at a police station close to where the incident happened (not just any police station o, 1closest to where the incident happened)
2). Go to court and swear an affidavit, stating what happened.
3). Return back to the police station where the incident was reported to get a police report.
4). Write a letter to the telecom company hosting the number and personally submit it to their head office, armed with the police report and affidavit...the letter should request for the data history and geo-location of the number in question. Please note, you would most likely require the services of a lawyer or a learned and knowledgeable police officer for this final step cos you might need a court order or a warrant before the telco would release this information.
Another thing you can do is try to run a trace using the IMEI of the phone...if you have it.
Sorry4ur loss. You got tricked by a cleverly crafted internet/bulk sms. Whilst you were thinking he was logging into his account to initiate transfer, what he was actually doing was modifying the sms (inserting the amount, your bank name and account details). For those who say you should have noticed cos your account balance wasn't shown: not all banks state account balances...I don't know how Wema does it, but I know not all banks mention balances in sms alerts.
