Sports / Oparanozie Wary Of South Africa’s AWCON Threat by omoojo2276: 6:32pm On Nov 11, 2018
France-based female striker, Desire Oparanozie has shot a look ahead of Nigeria’s first match at this year’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, and says their opponents, South Africa, are a good side the need to be wary of.

Although Oparanozie believes Nigeria will scale the hurdle when both sides clash next Sunday in Cape Cost, Ghana, sports247.ng learnt she admits the Falcons cannot afford to take Banyana Banyana for granted.

Rather than be overconfident heading into their ripening Group B fixture, the Guingamp of France star says the Falcons must be wary of their opponents in order to get a good start to the continental soccer showpiece.

Nonetheless, Oparanozie is also rating the Falcons high, as she believes they have what other teams in Africa lack, which she believes would be a plus for them at AWCON 2018 in Ghana.

The 24-year-old striker said she is happy that the Falcons enjoy a cordial team spirit that makes life easier for them on and off the pitch, and should help them win the tournament.

“We live as a unit. There is that bond between us and we are all thinking less about ourselves and thinking more about our common goal which is an 11th title.

“People tend to see Nigeria as top favourites (but) I personally don’t think so. You have to prove it on the pitch and not on paper and not ahead of the tournament.

“South Africa are a good side. Don’t forget they have been finalists four times. Equatorial Guinea are back. They won the title in 2008 and in 2012.

“Zambia have greatly improved. Qualifying from the group would not be easy for any of the four teams. It’s going to be a battle. Nigeria have defeated host teams before.

“Although there would likely be huge home support for the Black Queens due to the popularity of female football in Ghana, we have gone past that. We will focus on our play.”

Barcelona(ESP) v BayernBayern(GER)
Juventus(ITA) v Real MadridReal Madrid(ESP)

Gianni Infantino, UEFA General Secretary:
First of all, I would like to pass on congratulations and best regards from our president, Michel Platini.

Well, we are now reaching the climax of this season’s two major European club competitions. In each competition, we are just four matches away from knowing the identity of the teams who will contest the finals – firstly, the UEFA Europa League final at the National Stadium in Warsaw on 27 May, and then, the UEFA Champions League final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on 6 June.

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach: I’m happy with anything. Four strong sides are in the semis. The other three sides all deserve to be there.

Emilio Butragueño, Madrid ambassador: It will be a very tough semi. Congratulations to Juventus and it will be an honour for Madrid as well. If we get some players back from injury it will be better but it will be a tough semi-final nevertheless.

Pavel Nedvěd, Juventus ambassador: We are very happy to be in a semi-final after 12 years. I played against Madrid last time [In Juve’s 4-3 aggregate semi-final win in 2002/03]. It will be very exciting semi-final.

Paul Breitner, Bayern ambassador: It will be very tough to reach the final. We will have to be at full strength in both matches to beat Barcelona.

Food / This Dish Called Keshi And Takes 2hrs 30mins... by omoojo2276: 7:28pm On Apr 21, 2015
This a traditional delicacy from the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao. It may take a bit of time and effort, but it will be well worth it!

INGREDIENTS
1 large onion
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups diced cooked chicken
1 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped
2 dill pickles, minced
1 large green pepper, seeded and finely chopped
8 large stuffed green olives, sliced
1 1⁄2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 tablespoon capers, rinsed
1⁄4 cup golden raisin
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1⁄2 cup ketchup
1⁄2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup chopped cashews
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced
1 lb gouda cheese, sliced

DIRECTIONS
Melt the butter over medium heat. Then add the onions and sauté until they turn a golden brown color.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients, except for the cheese.
Butter a baking pan and line it with slices of Gouda. Then pour the chicken mixture on top, and top with the rest of the cheese slices.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, then put it under your broiler for a few minutes, just long enough to start browning the cheese.

Fashion / Who U Go Blame? Asabi Suing Tattoo Parlor For Chest Disfigured by omoojo2276: 10:55am On Apr 15, 2015
Not sure if she is a Nigerian but the name Asabi and her face...see the video

Asabi Barner, 37, of South Carolina got a tattoo at Black Ink tattoo parlor while visiting New York City
The parlor in Harlem specializes in tattooing dark skin and the shop's owner and artist have their own reality show called Black Ink Crew on VH1.

Barner went to the shop last year to get a new chest piece to cover up an older chest tattoo. After the first day, Barner says the new tattoo started to puss and continues to be painful to this day. She is currently in the process for suing the tattoo parlor. A New York City tattoo parlor at the center of a VH1 reality series just got a serving of drama - but not the kind that makes for good publicity.

A woman from South Carolina is suing Harlem tattoo parlor Black Ink, claiming an artist there did a botch job on a chest piece that left her disfigured and in pain. The Harlem tattoo parlor's owner and artists star in their own reality show, Black Ink Crew, which has had three seasons.

Crime / Ole... Who Got A VERY Unpleasant Surprise When Their Victim Fought Back by omoojo2276: 4:51pm On Apr 14, 2015
Dias Costa, 49, slashed the face, arms, and necks of the four raiders
The men, armed with guns, had broken into his home in central Argentina
Raiders were forced to flee in getaway car and they are all in intensive care

Mr Costa, 49, and his wife Christina, 48, were asleep when the men, who were armed with two pistols, broke in at around 3.30am.
Police commissioner Mariano Zarate said: 'In a moment when the attackers were not paying attention, the house owner took a samurai sword and defended himself, injuring the attackers and making them run away.'
In the panic, the thieves only managed to steal the equivalent of £278 and fled in a Peugeot 206 car which was parked outside.

Bleeding heavily, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a stationary car forcing all four to go to hospital for emergency treatment.
Police initially arrested two men and one woman, but another man who hid was forced to come back to hospital the next day due to serious sword injuries.
The Costa family have moved in with relatives as they fear they might be targeted in revenge attacks.
Prosecutor Jorgelina Guties said: 'We could not yet question the victim of the burglary as he is still in a state of shock'.

Education / A Must Read...black People Don't Read! by omoojo2276: 12:00am On Apr 14, 2015
Black People Don't Read!
THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, ‘The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.’ We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Book stores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all.

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing. They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them ‘Status’ or that they have achieved their Dream.

They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities. With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A ‘Talented Tenth’ he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some ‘form’ of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the ‘Talented Tenth’ was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavour of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organisations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM) They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.

Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are ‘helping’ their communities by paying dues to organisations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T READ!!!!
