Good morning
My fiance was interviewed on Thursday. At end of the interview, he was given a salmon colored paper for us to return this Friday. He stated that the VO is requesting to see me.
1)Besides my passport, is there any information I should bring? My fiance stated that VO collected his photo picture and info pertaining to i134.

2) Is there any particular time to show up? Change date for appointment? The suspense of knowing if visa will be approve is too must to bear.. lol. My fiance asked me to write on nairaland soon as I arrived off the plane last thursday. But I have been busy trying to adjust to time zone difference. 2 am wake ups and overcoming desires to sleep at 5pm have created some funny but awkard moments.. lol
Anyway, we are currently in ibadan but will be returning to Lagos by Wednesday.

Case # lgs2015612019

Any insight you can provide is appreciated!

Yuck, sorry to hear about your flight delays. No fun. As long as your fiance can talk about you and your relationship, the documentation would only be secondary anyway. I've made a note in his case for the interviewing officer, though.

Thank you. I feel much better.

Good morning,
I'm the US petitioner for my fiance. His interview is tomorrow. So I was bringing information like chat log, phone log and pictures since I'm visiting Nigeria for two weeks. Unfortunately I missed my connecting flight from Doha Qatar to Lagos cause the plane sat on runway for 4 hrs waiting for clearance and refueling in Philadelphia US.
Here's my question. Will this affect his interview for not having this information?
Also I provided the i134 form and statements from bank and job to my fiance in April. However, I have copies of income tax records in my luggage which is in the possession of the airline. If I'm not able to get a copy to him by tomorrow will that affect his chances for a visa as well?

Thank you. His number is lgs2015612019.

The last time I wrote that I didn't foresee ever having to reschedule anyone again, our computers promptly crashed all around the world, so I'm never saying anything like that again.... but right now, scheduled appointments are indeed on track! I see your fiance scheduled for July 16 -- knock on wood, I don't see any reason why that would change.

Unfortunately we don't have a designated waiting area for petitioners -- only for our applicants.

Best of luck!!!

Thank you!

Good morning,

I'm the US petitioner for my fiance k1 visa. I'm excited to visit Nigeria again. This time for a longer visit, two weeks vacation from job... yay.

My fiance is scheduled for interview on 7/16.
1) Are scheduled appointments on track or some applicants are being scheduled? I'm really concerned about his only (lol). Here's his id number, lgs2015612019, just in case you are allowed to provide this information on this forum.
2) Is there an designated area outside the embassy for the petitioner or others to wait for while the applicant is interviewed?

Thank you In advance for your assistance.

Regardless of outcome (definitely praying for the best) you have been very helpful!! I'm little jealous that my fiance might have the opportunity to meet you in person than I (lol).

Best Regards

Clarifying of question: are appointments being rescheduled due to workload, computer glitches, etc.

Just be sure to tell us about it at the time of your interview. Thanks!

Thank you. You eases my mind and calms my fiance each time. I appreciate you taking time on Saturday to answer. My fiance waited anxiously for your response but is grateful.
Keep up the good job!

No, no need to interview before the petition expires. We can keep it open for you (and we routinely do that for our K applicants).

ma its been few days since I last on. So i need advice on this was your answer from my previous question. Again my k1 visa case number is lgs2015612019. Since ceac website showed ready yesterday I paid fee to bank and scheduled appointment for July 16 on us travel doc. My fiance needed to requested time off and renew nigeria tourist visa. So she will be here from July 13 - 26. Will this visa appointment date be ok far in July?

You should wait to hear from us before you get your medical report and police certificate. Otherwise, the likelihood of those documents expiring before your case is complete becomes somewhat higher.

For us, your name is the name on your passport. If you don't get your passport corrected now, you're going to have a heck of a time convincing the U.S. government to spell your name correctly later.

You've only spent six days with your fiancee? Ever? That's going to make it more difficult (but not impossible) for you to convince an interviewing officer that the two of you have a bona fide relationship. We wouldn't deny an application based solely on the fact that you haven't spent much time together, but, frankly, if there are any other indications that it's not necessarily a genuine relationship, that's going to help tip the scales quite unfavorably.

Thank you ma for good advice. The file has been received on the ceac website. But my finance and i need to think about advice we have received here. We want get through this the first time. We want to wed in Aug.
One more question, on paper she received it says the k1 visa expires in july. Do i need to interview at lagos before that date? She has some work events that cannot be rescheduled and interview will be pushed back until she can come for two weeks.

Dear V O,
My K1 visa file is on the way from NVC to Lagos, lgs2015612019. Hopefully, it will be received by next week or very soon. Here are my questions:
1) Am i to proceed with my medical exam and police report before receiving notices from consulate?
2) My surname is spelled incorrectly on passport(subiru) but it is spelled correctly on immigration paperwork (suberu). I tried to correct my passport in March but not successful. Should I complete ds160 with the same spelling of surname as passport? On website it states that a person will not be allowed in if name on ds160 matches passport.
3) I met in person my fiance within 4 months of knowing her (Nov 2014). She visited for 6 days. Due to her job, an officer with US uniformed services, her visited had to be short. We agreed that she will visited every 6 months until we r together. Now that I would most likely have interview in few weeks, she cannot get time off from work to come here. Will this be an issue since we only seen each other only once?

Thank you on any insight you can give.
