Good afternoon house,

Congrats to all who received ITA yesterday. Hopefully ours will come soon enough (still gathering my documents and awaiting ECA though )

Please has anyone successfully collected reference letter from diamond bank in recent times (after the merger with access bank)? I need help with this, the few contacts I have haven’t been able to help...

Thanks

Hello all,

Please I’m asking on behalf of my friend.

What NOC code will you advice she uses for her 6 months graduate management trainee (GMT) experience. The job description is tricky cos they basically received lectures/trainings for the entire duration before they were given their full time offer. She needs this 6months to add up to her 2yrs 6months experience to make up 3yrs from the same company.

Note that her letter states that she was a graduate trainee for the 6months, then her actual job role for which she is claiming her NOC was stated for the 2yrs, 6months.

I don’t know if I’m making sense

Misi16:

Let me just share a few, some have been mentioned here
1. Never change usd at the airport, coming from nigeria u can change like 200cad from the bureau de change or mallam guys so u have some cad for stuff before u go to the bank
2. Get the best newcomer deals at the bank, preferably no management fees on account, credit card 1500-2000 limit. I opted to open an RESP straightaway for our son, its a savings plan that the govt also contributes in addition to urs. You can google it up. I also didnt open a personal savings accct cos u get charged for withdrawals (but not charged for checking no interest paid though) and said no to overdrafts. I just wanted to have the basics and understand the system for at least a year.
3 Getting accomodation, factor in so many issues not just fine location, proximity to shops and transport, u may pay a little extra though. Also dont be in a hurry to buy a car, we landed summer and though it might be different if u land winter. If u can wait 6months to a year would be great
4. Settling in is great but dont spend too much money trying to set up urself like those who have spent 4years before u landed
5. Take advantage of the newcomer programs, though im expecting still applying for programs that will start months after my delivery.
6.Very important LISTEN to those who have been here before u, sieve information but there is no shame in getting a temp job while u wait for your dream job, there is dignity in labor. Met two diff people who landed way before us, one refused survival jobs early on and is trying to land one now, another didnt enroll in a newcomers program that would have paid a stipend cos thot would get a job before then but still searching.
Doesnt mean would be your story but learn from others mistakes
7.Also try as soon as possible to get income coming in no matter how small.so u are not under unnecessary pressure and be thrifty. That u have 20k cad buffer doesnt mean u have to spend it all while being jobless
8.Networking is key here, leverage on it

Let me stop here, i dont know it all but just keeping my ear to the ground and learning fast.

Thanks for this advice...pls what province are you in?

Thanks @topsmamen

I have looked at 6221 but from the description i think it’s more suitable for people who are sales reps for technical products like equipment and heavy duty machinery, software and the likes...I just want to be double sure so I don’t make a mistake

Please more inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks

Actually on a second thought I think you are right...

Thanks and apologies for doubting your wisdom...o wise one!

Write an email to your local test provider, politely bringing to their knowledge, that it has been over 28 days since you requested for EOR and that you need feedback urgently. That is what I did in my case, and it worked because they released my report the day after I sent the email, that is after calling several times to no avail.

Please what’s the procedure for requesting a remark? My result was online today (LRSW 9,7.5,8,7), although it was stated that the result is provisional and may be different when I get the actual report document. I’m not happy about my reading hence the need for a remark to earn an extra 3 points

I doubt the statement alone with suffice. You will need to include a LOE explaining that you have access to the 25% and include a link to the law on the web.

Something like this:
"The balance in my Pension account as at 23rd May, 2019 is N4,000,000. 25% of this amount which is N1,000,000 will be accessible to me within 4 months of resignation.

I will have to resign my employment for the purpose of relocating to Canada to take up my Permanent Residency.

Part III, Section 7 – (2) of the Nigerian Pension Reform Act 2014 authorizes this:
' Where an employee voluntarily retires, disengages or is disengaged from employment as provided for under section 16·(2) and (5) of this Act, the employee may with the approval of the Commission, withdraw an amount of money not exceeding 25 per cent of the total amount credited to his retirement savings account, provided that such withdrawals shall only be made after four months of such retirement or cessation of employment and the employee does not secure another employment.'

Please refer to the link below to access the Pension Reform Act 2014 (http://lawnigeria.com/LawsoftheFederation/Pension-Reform-Act,-2011-%28Repeal-and-Re-enactment%29-Act,-2014.html)."

You can use any other web link in place of this one if you choose.

Wow thank you so much for this...

Hello everyone,

Please has anyone here used a statement of account from premium pensions? The customer service lady I spoke to just said they cannot include any letter explaining that I have access to 25% of the funds 6 months after retirement. Will the statement alone suffice?

Hello everyone...Been following this thread in silence mostly because I am yet to commence the EE process so i basically have nothing much to contribute, I’ve just been soaking in all the information here...I must say it’s really commendable the display of kindness here...anyways I’m sitting for my IELTS on the 11th, studying hard and trying not to get nervous...my prayer is to not have to sit for the exam more than once...amen! Lol. Hopefully I will share my IELTs maxing our testimony, ITA testimony and eventually PPR testimony I due time :-)

Business / Diesel Delivery Available by onyexx: 3:09pm On Mar 27, 2017
Hi guys,

I am under serious pressure to meet my target at the office. We are a major oil and gas company operational upstream, mid-stream and downstream. I am a sales rep in the downstream arm, and I have a target to sell both AGO (diesel) to individuals and companies and ATK (jet fuel) to airlines.

For AGO (diesel) we sell in bulk to independent marketers- 33,000ltrs and above (prices and quality is top notch) and also do door to door deliveries from 500ltrs and above within the Northern region (Abuja, Kano, Kaduna). You may contact me on 08079446583 to discuss further. Please help a sister keep her job.

Thanks
