antiaqueen: One good thing about reading this thread from the very beginning is that, it will help you to make accurate assessment whether you are in a good position to apply or not, whether to wait, what to add or what to remove innyour application. To me, I see it as a eye opener. Reading the entire thread will help you to know to a very large extent if your application will be successful, if you are on the right track or not. Areas to make the necessary adjustments. So it is a time well spent |

Sholeola23: With my experience with some barristers, they are just after their own pocket. Not all will be objective in their assessment of the situation. It is sad that they refused you after all the effort you put in. Reading through your refusal notice carefully, you will realise that is a combination of different factors that led to your refusal. Even though your wife met the financial requirement, not adhering to the 28day rule the eco will presume that your wife may not still be in that employment as at when the application was made. The goes for the bank statement, they will just assume that the bank statement did not reflect your current situation. Also your immigration history didn't help matter as well. It would have been nice if you explained in the additional info box how you got to the UK at age 13, given that you were young and did not really know which visa your father used. In my experience in visa application I have found out that the HO is looking for reason not to give visa. So often, more is better than less. In all one thing stands out, if you are genuinely married to your wife they cannot deny you been with her. Article 8 guarantee that. As someone already mentioned, is not going to be easy but it is possible to get the visa. Just looking for a good lawyer that will be objective not one that will tell you what you need to hear. Either you make fresh application or appeal, try to address all the concerns stated in the refusal notice. And please which ever way you decide to move forward, don't use that barrister that to,do you what they wrote was nonsense. In my humble opinion I don't think he is a good barrister. 2 Likes |

Sholeola23: There are lots of gurus in the house that will give you a better answer but let me just say something small. I will assume you are applying for a spousal visa and the processing time is 3 months, how ever it can be longer. I will suspect that the 3months will start counting from the day you submitted biometric. But given that your tb cert. came in late it might alter the timing a bit. So I will advise you to wait till the end of the month at least. With the way the HO operate, if there is a significant change to the time, they will communicate with you. Spousal visa is more of a waiting game. I understand that the waiting can be agonising, but you really don't have a choice. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Lexusgs430: I really don't know. I have two old passports. One was expired, the other was a change of name. The one with the change of name had all my previous visa on it. So I don't know if it will be relevant in deciding my application. I've always added my old passports in all my previous applications. But this time around the lady at tls just removed my old passport stapled to the new one and collected only the photo copies of the old ones to scan and she gave them back to me which I added to the bundle. Now I am really confused and worried. |

Hello everyone. Please house I need help with the answer to a very pressing question. I just applied for settlement visa. Bsed on the advice from this forum i know I am on track, meaning I meet all requirements but my concern is the accommodation. My husband lives alone in a spacious one bedroom flat but myself and our two year old son will be joining him. Though we've been there before but it was on a visiting visa. Now that I am applying for settlement visa, will eco consider the apartment too small? Please note that my son is British so the application is just for me alone. Please house, urgent response will be appreciated thanks 1 Like |

Hello everyone. Thanks for the wonderful job you all have been doing may God richly bless you. Please I have a question but first a quick history. In 2014 I applied for 6months family visit visa to visit my husband twice and I was denied on both occasion. The reasons for the refusal were so flimsy. The second refusal was the worst, in fact the ECO was quoting date on documents I submitted with the first application.it goes to show that he didn't even check the documents I submitted with my second application. So I was refused again. I felt really bad and I appealed. 2 months after the appeal was filed I was called for my visa. I travelled and stayed for one month as stated on my application. Now I want to apply for 2years with my husband as my sponsor. The problem is his account is really bad at the moment because for the past 7 months we've been building. Money doesn't stay in his account. The moment he gets it he sends to me for the project. On the other my account for the past 7 months has been very busy. Large inflow and outflow of money because of the project; I'm in charge of it. At the moment I have close to a million naira in my account, this is from rent that was recently paid. My question is, can I use my account to apply for the visa.? Like sponsoring myself instead. Please note, my husband lives in the uk but I live in Nigeria with our son. Your kind input will be highly appreciated. |
