Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Ever Gotten A Job Through Your House Of Reps Member Or Senator? by opad(m): 12:53pm On May 06, 2022
On the contrary, hence why we are in this state as a Country. Shouldn't the question rather be asking about the numbers of enterprises and jobs created by the Reps and Senators for their constituents?

Quite irresponsible comment, unfortunately.

Some of us are proud of how far this thread have grown over the last 9 years especially devoid of insults.

***The 'guy' is not a prospective applicant, inquiry was for an aburo, but posted on the student thread instead of the PR one (error admitted). If you can't answer any question, you can simply ignore.

I wish you very well on your student visa pursuit. It'll come. Let me know if you need airport pickup any state.

Cheers mate!

tpain22:
Guy please take your PR talk somewhere else, this group is for Australian Student Visa only,

By the way any Grant in the last 5days? Seems coronavirus is delaying processing times.

It's possible if Uni gives you admission.
Get good English score IELTS or PTE. Apply to Tier1 schools, not Tier 2.
No harm in trying. You could even apply to those schools without English until they request for it.

Jenny1000:
hi every1, hope you all are doing good today? Please I need your advice because am so confuse right now, I have been researching non stop since last year Dec. I graduated with a 3rd class in microbiology and I want to further or get a masters degree in Australia but I don’t just want to go waste money over there I want to study a pathway course to permanent Residence in Australia. Please will kindly need your advice Thanks

Ease the worry, take your mind of it. It'll come if it'll come.
Ticket conversation is a cogent part of the thread, actually it's more of an act of faith discussing ticket options prior to issuance.
Unfortunately IOM is been stopped for students, cos just 2 or 3 years back while awaiting visa everyone wanted to know how to purchase ticket via IOM which was significantly cheaper.

fheyizsmart:
This is the least of the problem, i dont think getting cheap ticket deals should be the bone of contention here for someone that could afford to foot the bills till the point of getting grant. Lets talk about VISA pls
Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by opad(m): 2:13pm On Feb 12, 2020
Bros, use google or cheapoair to search for LOS to Adelaide, then you'll see.
efetoski:
But incase you are not ok with the price you can go for first class since your brain is telling you Australia is very expensive. For me did rather go for 3-stops as far as i know whats in my pocket. Whether first class flight or 5th class we will all arrive there grin grin grin

Kindly note that you are paying one way and not to and fro as some of you assumed. Your coming back flight fare will be part of your proof of fund.

Chief how does one do that?
Is it the school that will coordinate the packaged courses with a conditional masters or we will have to find 2 different admissions in 2 different school/same school?

Yea, same Uni please. This days schools refer you to education agent anyway, I'll suggest you contact Australia based education agents for that.

Graceee:

She is 26 years so you are saying she should forget applying for undergraduate visa but she holds HND so she cant get masters admission.
Then what do you advice??

Mate, get her to apply for 2 packaged courses of Graduate Certificate with a conditional Masters if units are passed. It's a rare one but very possible.
Politics / Re: Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Lining Up With "School" Bag To Board A Flight by opad(m): 7:54am On Jul 03, 2019
Apologies for using foul word first time on this platform. Why can some people be so dumb? How does carrying a bag pack a form of humility? Should he have carried a nylon bag? That's a bag that can be used by students(High or school tertiary) as well anyone who needs to carry any portable item. SO IT IS NOT A "SCHOOL BAG".

Good you do take note. Can't seem to get it most times, so irrationally and irritating comments by supposed human beings. Could it be as a result of the frustrations? Well, they chose to have that negatively impact their sense of reasoning, they are not the only ones living in the country.

nellybadas:
Have you noticed most comments on every nairaland thread are usually abusive and reeks of frustration. No matter the what the topic of discussion is. Is it a Nigerian thing or a reflection of the economy. I really hope things improve in this country. So we would have happier citizens.

Career / Re: Why Nigerian Graduates Are Unemployable And Solutions To The Problem by opad(m): 10:26pm On Mar 09, 2018
LordKO:
Conceitedness and disingenuousness remains the two major vices/ills that hinders most graduates (people) progress in life. Once these ethical vices are cured you'll see that opportunities abound and most Nigerian graduates are employable.

A typical conceited graduate is like a fanatical religious proponent who believes that any doctrine aside his is evil. To a conceited graduate, anything beyond his parochial mind doesn't exist - so long as he's financially poor and doesn't understand how to create wealth then, anyone else that amassed wealth must be an evil doer. They'd rather envy and disparage others who're better than them instead of to be humble to imitate - if not learn - from them.

Meanwhile, a typical disingenuous person being hypocrisy, greediness, selfishness and too clever by half personified is always looking for a method to use ruin you - clever people earn to share with associates/employers, they don't eat from them. He doesn't know that opportunism is different from opportunity - opportunism is evil.

At best academic education confers to one that acquires it thoroughly "articulacy" but it never confers competency to anyone. And in reality what one need to succeed outside the academic environment is competency with a little touch of articulacy or non of it at all. More than 90 percent of Nigerian graduates are articulate incompetent - they knows everything but understand nothing valuable - but conceit will never allow the unfortunate to accept the reality and learn humbly and in honesty from any useful available source.

Nigeria remains a virgin land for anyone that wishes to amass wealth.

Wow, great wisdom. Are you Olakunke Soriyan ni?

uncultured and uncivilised citizens...
I am sure the driver had incomplete documents and vehicle accessories...
I am sure the VIO agent is a tout, who was more interested in collecting bribe than doing actual inspection...
Nigeria's biggest problem is her citizens... We have some of the worst attitudes the world over...
walk into the premises of a Nigerian owned business with Nigerian staff...
walk into the premises of a foreign owned establishment with foreign staff....
You have simply seen two different worlds of work ethics...
Bad citizens become bad leaders...
It is very easy to blame politicians and uniformed personnel, but they are only a reflection of the society which includes you and me.

Celebrities / Re: Han Hyun-min, Nigerian-Korean Model Making Waves In South Korea by opad(m): 12:50pm On Jul 12, 2017
spectator2001:
This is the problem for the black race. You have got to be "something" for you to be seen as human but the typical Jeff or Steve out there is simply not bothered about any life goals beyond what he ordinarily would aspire for YET never disrespected by the society.

It is ok to be black and not aspire for any phenomenal success or outstanding feat, yes but the western world influenced the entire world to spill hatred against the dark skin wherever they are sighted. Such a shame.

We all can't be Rappers, Models, Basketballers, Athletes, Hip Hop Impresarios and all sorts of extraordinary aspirations which we ordinarily wouldn't care for. The white race conquered the psyche of the entire world already and there is little or nothing we can do about it. His story should not and can't be a template to inspire a black child who has opted for the simple life just like any average white child can. I love the simple life irrespective of what some of my folks perceive as achievement on my part... I sometimes ask myself the simple question "Are you really cut out for all these"?

Someday, I'd help the black child realize that it's ok to be human and not wanting much beyond the ordinary. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A MODEL TO BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN! Peace!

Awesome piece, awesome!

and that's the PROTEST we should be having. Protest against ourselves, mediocrity, tribal sentiment, nepotism, etc. We've got more dangerous issues as this than protest against fuel price or governance alone. Nothing will work if this pertinent issues still remain, nothing will work if there is absence of love for one another irrespective of tribe or religion.
KevMitnick:
This happens everywhere in the country. First I was in Lagos attending an RCCG church in Ikeja, a first timer. During the Sunday school class, the pastor starts to rant about all these ibo people, they are problematic, they are this and they are that. I just siddon they look, although I am not ibo but Damn.
Second I travelled to the north to visit my aunt and she told me how some of the hausas do harass them calling them infidels and stuff, threatening to kill them. Thirdly, my friend contested for an sug position in BUK kano, dude was a Muslim from kogi, not from the core north, and couldn't speak hausa fluently, that single 'flaw' was used against him in the elections, he lost gallantly.
I could go on and on, it's a sad reality. When you are in a place like that, try to blend in. My aunt in the north wraps a veil (gele) over her head now, that has eased the harassment. You should try to blend in, they are just being afraid and fearful people are harmful people. Sorry
