Is this irrespective of the collection date stated on the Confirmation Slip? I did my capturing on 4 Jul and can now see collection is on 6 Sept and am perplex renewal is going to take 2 months and 2 days after capturing.

Don't wait. Just go there. I did mine july 5. I might check tomorrow. If its alausa, it should be ready by now

The printout had said to pick up passport in August but went today after seeing the posting from those who had picked up theirs. Passport was actually printed two weeks ago.

And now they have a sign at the office that says renewal take 3 weeks to be ready while fresh applications take 6 weeks.

I should be expecting my own next week if I should follow 3weeks for renewal. I captured for renewal 10yrs at alausa on July 5. What was your status online. Did it changed from approved to any other thing

Which centre in lagos? Is it through same DIY route. Pls let me know because I also captured on 5th of July at alausa

Since it’s taking time to drop, I would advise you to contact @adebisilucy here because sometimes NIN takes 6months to drop naturally and by that time your passport payment would have expired and you will be ask to make another payment or go through hectic validation process. Do something to make it drop before the 6th month

It doesn't take 6 months to drop. It's only when you have issues with ur NIN. And passport payment takes 1 year before it expires

It's 72,000 for the 10yrs. You can go through DIY route. I did same and waiting for passport to be ready

I went to Alausa yesterday on a DIY route of renewal for my passport capturing. But my own print out slip is more than 6weeks ooo. Did anyone notice this or it will be ready in that 6weeks period. I captured on July 5 and collection date shows September 7th

Go to Alausa as soon as possible to submit your print out for vetting and you will be inform to come back for capturing when you receive a text message from them

For people waiting for text message on capturing on a DIY route. Let have patience. If your file don't have issues. You will definitely be text for your capturing. I think that's one of the strategies to distract people from using the DIY route. I submitted my file on June 17 for vetting. I received a message for capturing this evening. If you know you are not needing ur passport urgently, you can try the route. My own passport will expire by October and I know I don't have any extra money to dash people. That's why I start on time

1) Does it means that everytime I move out of the country then have used a page on the passport i.e I have to travel 32 times to exaust the 32 pages passport within its stipulated yrs?
How many pages do I use to and fro on a travrl?

2) As regards how herculean the renewal process is, do u suggest going for the 10yrs passport @70k? What do u say about the price? What if the prices of passports soar in coming yrs as we've seen for this?

I don't have idea on the first question, but as for the second one. It depends on you and if you can afford it. I paid that 70k for my own 10yrs renewal. If u can't afford it no problem, just go for the 5yrs. Though it will prevent you from unnecessary wahala again in 5yrs time from another renewal. My own is that I don't know where I might be that time and I don't want to bother myself on this no booklet available

June 8: Applied online DIY; given interview date of Jun 16
June 10: Went to Passport office. Slight delay as servicom officer in charge wasn’t available. Finally arrived after an hour. Documents checked, additional forms filled, file created, and documents eventually dropped off after first stamping (old passport given back to me to hold). Told to wait for text message.
June 16: Went to ask how far. Told to come back when I get text message.
June 17 (11:39pm): Received SMS to come and capture
June 18: Arrived at Passport office for capture. File could not be found among those capturing that day. After much tossing up and down, I met one of the Ogas who asked one of the servicom desk officers to find the file. Another officer confirmed he’d received the list with my name on it for capture. Through God’s mercy and the Oga’s help, file was found in the same place that was checked three times before. They marched me directly to the capture room without staying on the queue in the waiting room. Finally captured. Confirmation slip said passport will be ready in August, but I’m sure it will be ready before then. Told to expect another SMS when the passport is ready.

I finally submitted my application form to be vetted at Alausa Ikeja today...Those of you who is going there should get his guarantor form stamped and sign at Ikeja...don't forget to fixed d guarantor passport photograph to d form to be stamped too...I did a mistake of not fixing it to be stamped ...they have to send me back to stamped it with d form..Also,guarantor NIN was not collected and attached wit my file.they return it to me.they only collect the stamped guarantor form and photocopy of his passport data..I was told I will be notified to come for biometric capturing once my application is successful after it has been vetted.thanks

You don't need guarantor form for renewal. Just go there with the required documents as listed earlier here. All your printouts. Data page and last page of your passport, ur NIN

Arrange all the doc listed on this thread earlier, one of the ladies will check and arrange in a brown file for you. Also ensure you write application letter addressed to the CG of NIS and add to ur doc too. Once they give you the NIS file back with your originals in it, just find your way to the room before the capturing room and drop ur file for vetting. After that you will be asked to come back for capturing after a week .

I did as you have said today. I was told I will receive a text message for my capturing. Which might be in a week.

You won't get captured same day if it is DIY. I guess that is cos of NIN & online payment confirmation. Even those paying runs money for fresh passport have to wait till after somedays or a week as well before they can capture and if you go for capturing without that you will be sent back when you get to the room cos your file will have no stamp /signature till it goes thru necessary desk. As per vetting you don't have to wait till the interview date,you can try sort that out tomorrow

The day given to me for interview is on 25th of June. Did you say there's a possibility that I might not get captured that day because they want to vett my file. What's the implications going straight for the capturing? Just because I don't want to wait for another week to come and capture again. Or can I just do the vetting tomorrow which is not yet my interview date and later come for capturing the following week

Pls can u share more light on alausa office process in order not to be a victim for DIY route, as I will be going there on June 25

For those that will be going to Alausa passport office via DIY route, ensure you ask questions as many times as possible from those Servicom people esp the two ladies by the stairs inside cos they will intentionally withhold information on the next stage just to make you fall into the hands of their fellow officers for some amount of money. There is another form to be attached to other document in your file (3pcs) ,they may lie to you that the form is available online and ask that you go back &print, tell them it is not ,they will eventually give you and ask you to make copies and return their's.

I just paid for my 10 years passport renewal online now for 72,800. And my appointment date is June 25 at alausa ikeja. Please can I go earlier than that or I must stipulate to the date that was given to me

This is not correct sir. I did capture on the month of march, got it April. Issuance on passport says march 2021,expires march 2031. That birthday system is for driver's license.

Please where did you apply for your 10years passport and what's the duration of the waiting time. Did you follow the DIY process or Express

My Visa was granted on 22 November 2019, but I have not been able to Travel due to Coronavirus Pandemic, Please advice me on the next step as I believe that "For the first entry, arrive by 04 March 2020" means I must be there before the Specified date.
