Brother I am not a cotonou car dealer. These are the photos when the car was first purchased, as I'm not in the country I can't snap it now. (I have explained this) The car is in Ikoyi and registered. I'm sure there are quite a few A6s in cotonou at the moment, this however is not one of them. Please read the whole post next time to avoid embarrassing yourself.

There are also some posts which I have been discussing the engine problems you can read up as well.

Autos / Audi A6 2.7t 2002 N780,000 Only by Operation(m): 2:21pm On Jun 27, 2011
I'm selling my A6 as I have moved back to the UK.

The engine turns over but will not start, I'm assuming its a gasket. I have a quote from an audi specialist to replace with a new engine for 150,000 or fix it for around 50,000. I can pass on his number to any serious buyer to confirm.

Located in Ikoyi, Lagos.

around 55,000 miles!

2.7 V6 Biturbo Engine.

Auto gearbox.

Cream leather interior

Bose surround sound.

All wheel drive

A few marks on the body and rims

All electronics are working!! EVERYTHING!

New light replaced. Just had a full service at Mobile,

The photos are from when it was in the park in Cotonou, sorry I dont have any recent ones as I'm in the UK.

Call Tom on 0815 274 5799 price and sale are down to him so be nice and you might get a good deal!

Autos / Re: Looking For Audi Engine 2.7t by Operation(m): 7:48am On May 03, 2011
I just bought an universal OBD-II reader off ebay, for the same price that people here seem to be charging for a scan, so i thought why not. However, i tried to scan the A6 a couple nights ago, but the reader wasn't communicating with the laptop, so it didn't happen. Did some research and turns out with the cheap copies theres only a 50% chance that they work, as the hardware is extremely dodgy. Shame on me for going ebay! once again. lol

Autos / Re: Help - Car From Ghana To Nigeria by Operation(m): 7:46pm On Apr 28, 2011
I have a car i keep in togo but bring it over quite often, u need all ur normal docus, then at the border you will have to deposit some cash, it was quite a lot, def more than $1000. u get a lesse passe for a month. wen u go out u get ur deposit back 100%, the next time he crosses he wont need to pay any deposit. the first time is always the hardest,
Get him to pay a tout to help, they know wat they are doing and even though its annoying if its ur first time it will save a lot of hassle

Car Talk / Re: Audi Mechanic Needed In Lagos. by Operation(m): 8:55pm On Apr 26, 2011
I was going to attempt the engine swap myself, with some friends, But then since this current one isn't working I thought it would be a good idea to see how much someone could do the head gasket for (and if it would still work afterwards) - my younger brother is coming over for some work experience in may, so he will need a car. I have to get a move on!!!

I'm even considering trading it, or selling it as is and cutting my loses sad - probably the most expensive 2 days of driving ive ever had,

Car Talk / Audi Mechanic Needed In Lagos. by Operation(m): 5:11pm On Apr 26, 2011
I have a 2001 Audi A6 2.7T V6 Quattro with either 1 or 2 blown head gaskets. I've have been thinking what to do about this, and an engine conversion has crossed my mind. However, I want to know if there is a mechanic in Lagos who is capable of doing this work, and how much its going to cost. If its significantly cheaper than an engine transplant then I will go for it. If anyone knows of anyone that has done a head gasket on this engine or can do it please let me know, Either on here or my email, benasayer@hotmail.com

Happy elections

anyway man, if u do go to the dealership try and print out the trouble shooting steps above and had it to the one of the guys doing the diagnostics, he should know whats hes doing and even better have the service manual, It seems that apart from a lot of checking and rechecking and scanning the part thats mainly faulty or could be faulty would be the rocker arm oil control solenoid. Which i gather can get damaged with too much or too little oil, so this should be the very first thing you check. As long as the oil is between the min and max there shouldnt be a problem.

If you can solve the problem with the trouble shooting method above, then I dont think it will be too expensive. You will pay for the scanning, and the solenoid if its replaced and a small amount of labour,

as Ikenna said "A 4 WHAT!?!!?" dont go back to an I4 ---thats insanity! smiley

Hi,

I did a quick search and found this posted by a honda tech,
Just so you have an idea of whats going on. I wouldn't use a local mechanic at all, either do it yourself or go to a large mechanic/dealer and pay the extra cash - so that you will still have a working car.

DTC P2647: Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch (VTEC Oil Pressure Switch) Circuit High Voltage
The first step in diagnosing that code is to check oil level. There is a diag test to check the switch which I'll give you but you would need Honda scan tool. I would have the code cleared and see if it returns with the oil full.
Hopefully this answers your question and you accept. Positive feedback is appreciated and please let me know if I can assist you with anything else.
Check the engine oil level. Is the level OK? YES - Go to step 2. NO - Adjust the engine oil to the proper level, then go to step 14.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Do the VTEC TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS. Is the result OK? YES - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) and the ECM/PCM. NO - Go to step 5.
Check the result of step 4.
VTEC Switch Failure
VTEC Switch Open
VTEC Switch SIG Line Open
VTEC Switch GND Line Open
Is the test result any of the above?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch). If it is OK, replace the rocker arm oil control solenoid (VTEC solenoid valve), then go to step 14.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) 2P connector.
8. At the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch), check for continuity between rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. Is there continuity? YES - Go to step 9. NO - Replace the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch), then go to step 13.
9. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
10. Measure voltage between rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) 2P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Repair open in the wire between the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) and G101,then go to step 13. NO - Go to step 11.
11. Measure voltage between ECM/PCM connector terminal B11 and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM (B11) and the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch), then go to step 12. NO - Go to step 19.
12. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
13. Reconnect the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) 2P connector.
14. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
15. Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS.
16. Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure.
17. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P2647 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) and the ECM/PCM, then go to step 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 18.
18. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P2647 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Does the screen indicate PASSED? YES - Troubleshooting is complete. NO - If the screen indicates FAILED, then go to step 1 and recheck. If the screen indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 16 and recheck.
Update the ECM/PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM.
NO - If the ECM/PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If the ECM/PCM was substituted, replace the original ECM/PCM.

mmm wanted some pictures, he clearly drives a lot more than the average person -

he has 720 hours in the month to cover the 10,000 miles, if he spends half the time sleeping then thats 10,000 miles in only 360 hours, so to hit the 10,000 miles he would have to be driving non stop at around 28mph for 360 hours,

difficult to do - but not impossible
